Absolutely terrible customer service. We waited in line well over 15 minutes as the purple haired cashier acted as if the people checking out in front of us were the only ones in the store. Instead of checking us out or having the guy in the green shirt playing on his phone check us out, he proceeded to go over every product (even walking around the store to grab cheaper options), had a long conversation about past and previous locations in the nation and how he doesn’t want anything to do with Tandy because he gets enough of it at work. Huge disappointment after driving 45 minutes to get to the store. LUCKILY while standing in line my wife found everything much cheaper on Amazon!

If you like leather, I mean really like leather. Then youll like this place. Helpful, knowledgeable,and friendly employees. They will help you by guiding you through your purchase so that you dont spent more then you need to for your project. Just the smell alone. Youll be hooked on starting a leather project.

Employees were more than helpful answering questions about tools and even provided personal experiences with brandings of consumable materials that really helped me in selecting my items. Along with not needlessly promoting the most expensive brands, but what was best for what I was looking to do.

I jumped into leathercraft because I couldnt find binocular straps anywhere that I liked. After watching a couple dozen YouTube videos about working in leather, then visiting the Tandy store I was off and running. A month after my first visit to the Elgin Tandy store I have made belts, knife sheaths, camera straps, binocular straps, and guitar straps exactly how I wanted them. This store has several friendly and knowledgeable staff. Aisles of hardware, dye, tools, books, and, of course, leather. Go there.

Its easy to not see the place. Looking through the window, the place looks vacant, thats the training room. Walk through to find actual store.

Wholly disrespectfully. I walked in andwaved at the employees. One employee yelled you dont know me.They were disrespectful the whole time. The manager who observed, did not intercede.Will not go back.

This is an experience that if you are into leathercraft will make you wonder why you havent already been here.Nice selection of leather. I believe they have in stock the entire Tandy catalog.The store is a little hard to find as it is in what looks like an industrial park building. Trust your gps, Google maps or what ever other app you may be using, ot really is there. Look for the sign over the door.Parts, kits and components are generally organized by part number. The same for dyes and finishes. This took a few moments to get used to, but actually made finding what I was looking for very useful. And the couple of items I didnt find the staff was supper helpful in assusting in helping me locate them. In fact they found it and asked if that was what i was looking for, in a very friendly way and not at all in a condensiding why as you often encounter in retail.There was a class going on in the back of the store. The instructor seemed engaging, helpful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. So if you were getting started I would recommend the classes here.As I started with. If you are into or interested in leather craft this is a place to go.

I love Tandy!! Everything about this place is great except for one thing.. This isnt exactly Tandys fault but its a problem for me.. The store is exactly 58 minutes away from my house. The problem is, I have to much going on to drive there when I need something. So I order online when I have to.. I made a good size order exactly 7 das ago. I was expecting my package yesterday, and when it didnt come today either I tracked it.. its delayed in Oak Creek WI.. Farther away than it was to begin with.. It would be fine if this wasnt the second time in a row.. so again this isnt necessarily tandys fault but unfortunately for them, the elgin post office is retarded, which in return, makes me not want to order anything from them again.. 2 day shipping.. 9 days later? (If its here Monday..)
