An Elizabeth City Favorite! My wife is from here and has fond memories of going here as a kid. Such a pleasure to be able to take our kids here 35 years later. Can go wrong with any ice cream pick! Great dipped cones!

Excellent soft serve ice cream and fantastic service. Highly recommend stopping by for a sweet treat if you’re in the area. Milkshakes are on point and that peach cobbler sundae was heavenly. My son was having a rough day so I asked if they would “go heavy on the sprinkles” on his cup of ice cream and they didn’t disappoint. They put sprinkles mid way through and then dunked the whole thing in the sprinkles!

Been grabbing cones here for years. Local favorite. Very few ice cream spots in town. This one is open till about 9pm. Not bad for Elizabeth City. They got a lot of flavors and ice cream always tastes good.

Ive been getting ice cream at Nu Quality since I was a little girl. Its always great. It brings back nostalgic moments for me. Their milkshakes are terrific..... especially pineapple!

Love the different flavors every week. Staff is always nice. Hometown appeal. Kids love it but adults are just as addicted. Take our out of towners here, they always say they wish they had a place like this. Ice cream is good anytime. So take a few minutes to have some and enjoy!!!!!! :) :) :)

I love this location! I have been here since I was a kid and ordered a chocolate vanilla swirl with sprinkles in a cone. They load up on the sprinkles! I’m glad I could continue bringing my sister here along as well, a local treat indeed! And if they lemon as the special flavor of the week, would highly recommend!!

The friendly staff is very knowledgeable about their products, which are a variety of ice-cream related treats. The hurricanes had big chucks of the mix-ins, sometimes too big for the spoon. However, overall, it was a great experience. We especially liked how dogs visiting the shop can get doggie bowls — vanilla ice cream with tiny dog treats on top.

Essentially the same as it was decades ago: delicious! Has standard soft-serve ice cream options, milkshakes, and mixes. Just remember to take cash and your visit on a hot summer day will be a treasured memory.

Great indicator that summer is here! Cotton candy and Dreamsicle mix in a cone was just ok. I prefer cake cone and the kids prefer waffle and they have both...win win! Prices seem to have increased alot more than just inflation. At $4.50 for a large cone, you could just go get store bought for better quality and value. Even these days you can find the flavors served in most grocery stores...they might be pricing themselves out of the business very soon.

I got a vanilla cone and it didnt taste like vanilla. It was so plain. Terrible.My dad got a peach milkshake and it didnt even smell peachy. He said it didnt taste it either. I will not be back.

The best spot you can come over to refresh and treat yourself to something nice, friendly staffs will welcome you and will gladly take your order on what ever ice cream you desire, love it here.

The banana split was tasty but they didnt have that many soft serve flavors. The strawberry was just okay.

I loved everything I got chocolate medium with chocolate dipped. The sprinkles didnt really go well with what I got I didnt really like them otherwise I lived it I do recommend trying the sprinkles if its your first time there incase you like them.

Me and my granddaughters went to to nu quality and the ice cream was great but the workers were very rude and a blue haired girl was talking about us and had a really bad attitude.

The new location in Southern Shores is wonderful! Fast, friendly service and delicious soft serve ice cream. We also love that this location takes credit cards!

Like Michael Jackson, I remember a time when simplicity ruled the ice cream business. This Nu-Quality is. Not a gourmet place, but turn back the hands of time when a simple pleasure of sprinkles, nuts, dips and not made on a counter with added sugar and artificial everything. Love of natural materials coming together in a machine to tickle the fancy of youths and young of heart. 32 or 36 flavors was for baskin in his time. So forth is Nu-Quality.

The one in Southern Shores has great customer service. The kids working greated me prior to making it to the window. Regular size sundae cup was good, although I was not impressed with the presentation as mine was 1/2 full of ice cream and the whipped cream and cherry were falling over the side of the cup.

Nu Quality is a great experience where we gather for soft serve ice cream around outside tables or in our cars. 50 s music completes the experience.

I use to go there when I was a kid!I am now 70 yrs. Old and I still go there when Im in the river city. Great place to chill out! I will continue to go there until they shovel dirt in my face!

The ice cream is honestly nothing special though it is different. The experience is really why you go here. It feels very 50s drive-in and its quite affordable. They also have a dog bowl for the pups!

Having the ability to get a nice milkshake, ice cream waffle or even what I got, a cappachino shake REALLY sells it for me. Lovely experience with the service workers.
