I had an appointment for oil change and check muffler. Diagnosis confirmed need for new muffler and another problem needed to be addressed. I was driven home since they needed to send out for a part and was picked up when repair was completed. It all went smoothly and would certainly use Performance again.

I had them replace my timing belt and all fluids replaced as well as new spark plugs. He was offering a nice discount on labor due to the economic slow down the virus has caused. All the things I needed done were labor intensive so the discount made me decide to do it. If you dont have people who can handle phone calls in a courteous and professional manner, you will lose business.

I have been a customer of Performance Auto since they took over the business. On a couple of occasions Craig has given me heads up on something that will need attention in the future. They have never pushed me to repair something that isnt needed. I appreciate this way of doing business.

I usually don’t do reviews but this place needed to be recognized! We are from out of town and while in downtown Chicago our cars engine light came on then started to blink! Our hotel was outside the city in Bloomingdale and we were trying to get to the hotel safely but since I looked up online what the flashing engine light meant it said you shouldn’t be driving so I called around and performance automotive said to bring the car straight there and they will look at it, price it and get it fixed first thing the next day since it was late and they were close to closing but they diagnosed it and gave us the quote before doing anything! They had it ready before we even checked out our hotel the next morning!! Craig took our call and helped us right out! Thank you guys, you all are awesome!

The one time there was a minor problem after the service, they fixed it promptly without complaint or any additional charges. Very rare, quality service for the auto repair industry, Dealers could learn some lessons here.

I took my Impala here for an oil change. I called at the last minute and they still accommodated me. The owner was polite and professional. They did not try to sell me things I didnt need and even offered their summer coupon for the services I was getting completed. Very impressed and will return.

He said Charlie you wont be disappointed!! Mmmm well you can take a Man out of the City but you cant take the City out of the Man so I bit went to the Ford Dealership prior to have a new engine installed their Wrench (Technician) tells me all these things that need my attention go over to Performance Auto and I was greeted by Craig & Dawn asked for a Oil change and could I wait no problem talk with Craig for awhile to see if he was one of those as you might know what I am saying but I felt like OK he is the real deal NOW mind you in no way am I blowing SUNSHINE up this review I tell it like it is and he has a FIRST CLASS operation at Performance so when Craigs Wrench came into the office and handed Craig a list of things that needed my attention it was the same as the Dealers list and the quote was $456.00 lees than what I was quoted by Ford he has a Loyal Customer for sure his wrenchs do top notch work Craig stands behind their work you owe it to yourself to check out Performance Auto I did and do not regret it

I brought my vintage motorhome in that no one else good get running right. That took it in and fixed everything that was needed and now it runs like new. All the other shops gave up, not theses guys. They where so nice and let me hangout and the price was so fair I was amazed.

They thoroughly explain whats wrong. What was suppose to take days to fix due to a part that needs to be ordered, ended up taking a day. We have used Performance Auto Center a few times over the years and have never been disappointed.

I had my boyfriend go in and ask if someone could check what hub bearing was worn out on our car (we had an idea, from the noise that our car is making, that a hub bearing was going bad.) They put our car on a lift, let it run and listened to where the sound was coming from. They charged $30 dollars just for that... talk about a rip off! We were told this price before letting them check our car, but we thought they had to remove a tire and thoroughly check. Good thing we wont be having this repair done at this place. I can already imagine the pricing :|

Wanted to charge me over $500 for a $200 job (weld in a short piece of y-piping, the part was only $70, the rest was labor). Highest quote I received from several shops. Got it done for $200 at a reputable local shop instead.

I was going to start driving more for my new job and so I needed a lot of stuff done to feel good about my car. I need an oil change, fluids and brakes looked at, new windshield wipers, and tires rotated. Was a lot of availability for making an appointment and then got me out of there super fast. Everyone was very friendly in there and provided a little chit-chat and made me laugh. There was an interesting selection of magazines to pass the time including bon appetit magazine. Of course there was a large flat screen there too and lots of flavored coffees to choose from. I feel like I got a really good deal on all my services and I was able to use coupons for each service I got, they didnt have some rule about combining offers. I think this will be the only place I go now.

Had our SUV towed here late afternoon and the owner stuck around until he was able to diagnose the problem and order parts for the next morning. Convenient Motel 6 next door and he had things running by checkout the next morning. Great people and fair to deal with. Thanks, Jeff

Went in for a quote to simply cut out and replace an exhaust Y-pipe and was told it would be $480+tax ($138 for the y-pipe + over $300/hr in labor?). Was told itd be an hour job. According to the guy at the desk they cant just cut off and weld pipe back together, like every other shop can do for less than half the price. Then he mentioned something about gaskets that would need to be replaced, on the intake or exhaust manifold...really? I only needed a y-pipe replaced, a simple job any other mechanic can do. Maybe he thought I didnt know about vehicles, either way it was a pretty sad attempt trying to scam me. Walked right out and will NOT return. I hope they provide free lube before screwing their customers. Got a quote from a different shop right after I left there, $180 for parts+labor for the job.

Dont waste your time with this unethical shop that is incapable of repairing a simple issue. I own one of the most popular sedans on the market, and am experiencing an extremely common failure related to climate system. Craig has replaced the actuator responsible for this failure 3 times, yet my heat is still blowing out cold.My family has had multiple issues with his shop failing to fix an issue after 3+ tries. I was really convinced that the owner Craig cared about the reputation of his business. Whether or not that is true, I know 100% that performance auto cannot fix my car and wasted my time and money.Please dont call me anymore, Craig. You earned this review.

Craig is always been fair and honest, no matter what vehicle I bring him, he does great work and will go above and beyond to educate you if you dont understand the issues that you may be having with your vehicle at the time... His prices are cheaper than a dealership and usually in line was smaller local shops of his size.

That bad review on here is the previous owners. Craig and the formerly Taccs is now Performance because they do great work. I take my new car to the dealer for necessary work and then Craig does the same work but better for less.

Helped me out in a pinch as a courtesy. Will be contacting them in the near future for any work needed - also recommended this shop to friends and co-workers.

They charged me a more than reasonable price for the repair and maintenance. Great experience and now I am a customer for life!
