Let me start of by saying this location is amazing from there customer service to there amazing communication. They took my truck in because of the transmission. They were able to get a new one so I could get back to work immediately. They have high quality techs. I have taken my truck to multiple locations and nobody could figure it out but as soon as I took it to him he knew right away. When moving from DC to Chicago my Jeep dropped a valve and destroyed my engine. I knew absolutely no one in Chicago and didnt know where to go. George and his team found me a gently used engine with low miles and dropped it in. They turned the job around in just a couple of days for a great price. Ive since been back for suspension work. And will return again. Great guys, fast turnaround, and fair labor rates.**UPDATE** - Just got off the phone with Horse Stable (11/7/19). I called to inquire about them doing a lift on my new (to me) Grand Cherokee (WK2). The person I spoke with said [they] dont do those anymore. Disappointing to say the least, especially after I brought them, what I felt was a substantial amount of business in the past, as you can see above from my previous review. Oh well, Ill take my good money elsewhere. FYI - if youve got a Jeep, it seems these guys arent working on them anymore.

When it comes to flat out honesty with diagnosis and repair, I have yet to come across any shop/owner better than Vas and his venture with Horse Stable Automotive. Ive brought a slew of vehicles here with a slew of issues, and each and every time the repair costs less than my own well versed estimate (I used to run a shop of my own). Bring your cars here and be amazed by how well things can go for you.

Super responsive, timely service and great communication. Fixed the car affordably and made sure it was safe to drive.

The labor may seem cheap, but it will cost you more in the long run. They like to throw parts at your vehicle without finding out what the problem is. They also use cheap parts despite the suggestions of the car manufacturer. They do not have the technology necessary for todays vehicles. They are not professional enough to admit to a mistake and make problems right.I recently took my vehicle there for a simple problem and after I took it there I started to have more problems. Trusting them I kept coming back to them when I continued to have problems and every time they told me another part was needed and i had to pay more. $730 later with still having a problem I went to the dealership and they told me that Horse Stable put in the wrong part when I first went there. It will cost me $1805 to fix the damages this part caused my car. When I called them they would not own up to their mistake or give any refund. I just asked if I could at least return the parts for a refund and they refused.

So like most people I dread going to auto shops... First they are expensive, they take forever and the best part is they always seem to find a million other things wrong with your car requiring more time and money!That being said I found a gem, unlike any other repair shop! The staff was really nice and helpful, I never felt that I was being taken advantage- which I think says a lot. I got my cars brakes done here for less than I wouldve anywhere else and they did a great job.Bonus: their waiting room is inviting and comfortable! They have a mini fridge for guests- awesome!Highly recommend

I was told from an ex employee that horse stable will mount and balance a tire for $10 a piece. So I come here and they charged me double per tire. Then after he takes the tires off he (the mechanic) decides to take his lunch break, knowing that Im in the waiting room. A 20min job turned into an hour and a half and counting. Terrible customer service. Definitely wont be back.Furthermore, while I had two and a half hours to write my review, the owner (Andy) confronted me about the review I had left and was very rude, at the end of the confrontation he said and I quotewait and see how long it takes now. Here I am driving down the highway with unbalanced tires, I feel like my wheels are going to fall off. Not only did it cost me full price, but now I have to pay an actual professional to do the job the correct way. If there was a negative star I would leave it.

These guys are fantastic! They changed the clutch on my car for $300 with very quick turnaround and quality work!Andy is very nice and knows his stuff. Its very hard to find an honest shop that does quality work, and this one does just that. I highly recommend!

Bad experience. Took my dads car here when he toasted his clutch. I was quoted a certain cost then charged more at the end. Was told the clutch job would take a couple days. Ended up being 2 weeks. Took them 3 tries to get the right pressure plate and then they charged us more. A good business wouldnt make the customer pay for their mistake. Never going here again. Wouldnt be surprised if I have an issue with the clutch, but it appears the work was complete. Regret not taking off work and doing it myself...my Dad wouldve wasted money on a car rental either way. Also the bathroom door doesnt close and the place looks filthy.

My clutch started to go at about 100k. Needless to say I started shopping around comparing quotes and quality of the craftsmanship since changing a clutch is relatively a big job. Andy quoted the job at a fraction of the dealers cost and suggested I go with a lifetime warranty clutch as well which is exactly what we did. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the work the price and Ill definitely recommend his shop to family and friends.Cristian

Took my 335i in for an oil pan gasket (common issue). These guys had it repaired the next day for nearly half the cost of everybody else while sending picture updates on facebook. Great price and quick service.

When I first got my car I brought it to them to fix my right bearing and not even a year later it was going bad again . Spoke to Andy and George and they warrentied it free if charge. I was at least expecting labor charge but nope the least I can do is give them a good review to help the business out! Thanks guys again!

After my stepson brought his 03 forester in for an oil change and to change an oxygen sensor horse stable broke the catalitic converter by braking the threaded bun off. They then told him the could not fix the car to take it to an exhaust shop. After speaking to who claims to be the owner I asked them to make the car whole and put it back to the way it was before they broke it he insisted that he was not and that he would gladly replace the catalytic converter for $850 after looking on eBay I can purchase the brand new catalytic converter system for $125 with free delivery. I would highly recommend not using this auto repair shop considering they are ripping off their customers.

Very bad and very unprofessional. Would like to do a error code scan and was told by the first technician it is free of charge. I went into the garage and double checked with the other one and was told scan error code is not free. What? I simply walked out of the door. Go to the the other store unless you want to be ripped off.They even smoked in the auto shop with no smoking sign on the wall.

Very unprofessional in every aspect of their business. Came there to get my clutch replaced. Got it back with the clutch still slipping. After bringing it back there for them to try to change out the slave cylinder and its still slipping. They said its because the clutch is defected and I doubt that. Not surprise if they installed improperly. Then I missed my first two classes because they didnt open their doors till an hour and half later then the time they said they would open. Only reason they did open at that time was because I messaged the owner. Dont go there.

Took my 2011 Maxima in for second opinion for my exhaust that the dealer quoted me a full replacement. Horse stable checked my car out and told me I only needed to replace a small part not the full exhaust that the dealer was gonna rip me off for. Been taking my car to them ever since. Couldnt be happier with the service.

I took my car in to get repaired, their hours state theyre open at 8am and I waited until 8:30am...nobody showed up. I was late to work as a result. They attempted to make things right by picking my car up from work, however when I picked it up after work my car still had the same problem...nobody even checked to see if it was fixed properly. They had to order another part so I had to wait 4 days to bring it back in. I told them I was picking it up at 4:30pm and they said that was fine. Nobody picked up the phone or greeted me when I arrived, it wasnt until 5:50pm that I was able to leave with my car (I was late to class so thats twice I was late). Btw final result: the problem still isnt fixed.When I initially called, I explained my cars problem and told them what the dealership told me needed to be replaced, they said they would double check the problem and see if the dealership was correct. Clearly they didnt care to double check the problem.There is no accountability at this place. They are nice guys and will apologize for their mistakes but in the end you may not get results and you will be left with a simple if this part doesnt work theres nothing we can do

Had my breaks done yesterday . Both front and back pads and rotors . Dropped of the car at 930am and picked it up at 1pm. Andy was great, very polite and knowledgeable . The job was done, the price was great and I left happy .

Came here about a month ago, went over the car with someone else who agreed that it was a power steering pressure sensor, which was clearly leaking power steering fluid, took it to horse stable and they quoted me that it was power steering pump and a hose, which is a quick job that should have been done in a day, took them a week! Was told 3 times they would finish today if not tomorrow morning

Disappointing experience. They unexpectedly charged me $25 for looking at my cars exhaust when I came to pick up the car. They provided no notice that they charge $25 to merely inspect the car. In fact, other body shops give free oil changes and free car inspections to entice new customers. Furthermore, they refused to apply the $25 to the potential future repair of my exhaust, if I decided to come back to them.

Upfront costs. Fast service. You just cant beat it.

I dont usually leave reviews, but I felt like i should share my great experience with other car enthusiasts. I always wanted to own a custom built turbo bmw E34. After doing months of research, i took it to Horse Stable Automotive simply due to the fact that they were very knowledgeable on turbo setups and was inspired by one of the owners turbo datsun. Guys did an amazing job, rebuilt my whole engine including bearings, rings, valves, all the gaskets. Did a completely custom turbo setup and did most of the research on their own and recommended best parts. They did my full custom exhaust, custom wiring for ECU and gauges. I really love the way my car turned out, and I feel that I got quality work and I thought it was very reasonable price for the amount of work they did. Andy updated me every week over text messages on the progress of the car and send me pictures of every step done.Its hard to find honest and knowledgeable guys that love what they do.Thank you!

This is a terrible business which does not deserve one penny of your money or time. I erge any hardworking person to read this in entirety before going there. After the incident that was my experience here, I have waiting more than a month as to not just speak from anger but to detail why no one should unknowingly enter such an establishment. There are so many more honest and professional businesses that deserve your hard-earned money.My car was brought here on an early Monday morning and I spoke with someone on the front end. I was told that my car needed a certain part for my brake line issue that they had to go out and pick up but besides that the work is quick and will be done the next day, Tuesday, but they would call me when it was done so I could pay over the phone since I live house out of state and would come in town the following weekend solely for this purpose. When I asked for an estimate they specifically told me more parts might be needed after the initial lines were fixed so keep that in mind with the price. I made it clear that I live out of state, at school, and would be coming hours away solely for my car so when they didnt call all week, I figured they were just busy. On Saturday, as I was on my way from another state, I had to call and was told they were working on it. Ridiculously enough, they started working on my car on Saturday, a full 4 days after I was told it would be done. The day they I was supposed to hand the car over to me and I was the one to call them. I was told they would call me back when they were done. When they called, they said that they couldnt finish the problem today and they were closed on Monday there was nothing they could do. This guy was not apologetic to the least to tell a working student who has to miss her classes to stay another day till Tuesday if they could even finish then.On Tuesday I have to call twice before I got someone and was told 2 to 3 hours. When I didnt hear from then after 5 hours, I ubered over to their 100 degree, no lie, office and was told they were still working. Mind you, my mechanic brother told me he has done his brake lines in less than and hr. 20 minutes later when I decided to wait, I was told that they had honestly finished hours earlier but they had put my key in the wrong car and the keys were sent to Tennessee and mailed back but the key never made it back with the envelope. They boldface LIED to me when I first entered and this can all be verified. How could they have fixed my car with no key and how could they swear my car was finished hours ago when they had time to receive mail from Tennesse? I waited there for 4 hours in 100 plus degree conditions as they wasted time and had to pry my door open in order to make a replacement key. It was suggested that it might take another day because they couldnt get someone over but it was already Tuesday and I wasnt having it. Only then, did they get serious.You must be there demanding service, which is not right. They lack professionalism. Finally, 4 hours later and right at closing time, they handed my car over and forced me to pay over $500. I entered my car and the starter area was 2 inches hanging out. I have a picture of this.I was not asking a favor from family, this is a business that I was paying for over $500 of work from. I should not have to beg or have been lied to. They tried to distract me and send me to the mall but if I wasnt there, they would not have gotten a spare key made that day. To add fuel to the fire, the short guy in the front was extremely rude and unapologetic. He refused to talk to my mechanic brother because he was not his customer stating, I dont have to speak with him or anybody. And refused to lower the price after losing my cars original key and sending my key to Tennessee which was all their fault and having ingredients me miss school I pay out of pocket for.The story is detailed but please trust a working student who had to pay extra hotel fees and miss classes for such unavoidable issues. Do not take you hard earned and unrespected time here.
