The owner of this store is a toxic, lying weasel. Hes abusive to employees in front of customers. I say employees because he never actually hires anyone, he just pays them under the table FAR below minimum wage. When they obviously leave for better opportunities, he lies about them to new employees. He uses physical violence as a means of intimidating employees so he should be in jail, not business.

Such a cute store!! Took my PS4 to get fixed on Friday, by Monday it was available to be picked up and since it wasn’t much damage, it only cost $20 (: so happy with how it turned out!!

Nice little place, in the heart of Elk Grove. Have a good selection of retro consoles and games. Also carry some old toys. Every employee Ive talk to has been very nice, helpful and answers any questions I had. Highly recommend.

I had an Xbox which no longer worked. I brought it in and they fixed it for what I felt was a reasonable price. It took several weeks to get it done since they were so busy. I found the people there fair and friendly and am very happy to have the game console back in good working order.

Ordered a part from their website and it was just one thing after another with these guys, cumulating in no part and no refund over a month later.I placed the order for a part-- the page said FREE SHIPPING but was charged $5 for shipping anyway, but was happy to let it go since they seemed like a small operation. Then about a week after I received my order confirmation email with no sign of a shipping email, I called the store and was told Id get a call back later that day. That never happened so two days later I called again and after a lengthy hold time was told I had to use the Contact form on the website, which I did, and got no response. I paid through paypal and heard I could file a dispute with sellers who didnt provide a tracking number, so I did, thinking that would force a reply out of them. Its been weeks and I still havent heard anything. No part, no tracking number. The part was cheap, roughly $15 after shipping so its not even worth chasing down a refund over-- just pure incompetence. Cannot in good conscience recommend.

Owner acts extremely weird, not friendly or helpful . zero stars wouldnt recommend letting kids go in there by themselves.

Glenn and his staff are excellent people, and do everything they can to make the gaming experience enjoyable. The store is packed with inventory and its easy to find something if you make the trip into Elk Grove. Prices are great, too. You wont be disappointed if you go. Is it one of the best game stores that Ive been to? Definitely, yeah.

Very fair and fast took my ps4 to them for them to fix due to overheating. When I got my system back home well my sons system it was still doing the same thing but after I took it back to them them with their expertise figured out the issue and fixed it free of charge no hassles from them trying to get a free buck or two due to the same issue but they were very fair and understanding I highly recommend them

Legacy is a small business, totally unique to the Sacramento area! They are not a cookie cutter chain store. The owner is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and always gives top tier service! Their selection of games and merchandise is stellar! Go check them out and see for yourself, you won’t regret it!

I normally dont do reviews but had a bad experience here and hope that nobody else will have to go through the same...Shady owner/business. Had some credit with them and it vanished. Wonderful experience here. A wide selection of new and old games as well as neat collectibles from games and shows. They have a great trade system and have great prices for their games. The owner is a pleasure to talk to and is knowledgeable about gaming and novelties and is down to earth. They offer a repair service for consoles whether next gen or retro. Definitely worth at least a stop by!

On Friday 10/30, I told the owner I’m here to bring my items in to be evaluated.On Thursday 11/5(6 days later), the owner told me that everything would be $2093 in store credit or $1349 cash. I asked him about what some of the items I had were worth, so he brought out a handwritten paper of what his staff evaluated for each item (SEE ATTACHMENT, THIS WILL BE IMPORTANT LATER). I asked the owner if I can take a picture of the breakdown and come back within 24 hours to give my final decision. He said sure and that they won’t sell anything unless it’s all finalized.That night, as I was looking through the list, the value they wrote down as $2093 seem to be too low if you add everything up. If you look at the Attached Photo of the blu ray page, you’ll notice that my 100 4k movies were $5 each ($500), my 22 blu rays were $2 bucks ($44), and my comic books in total is $1k. So, this page alone is already $1805 and there were 4 pages total. So, after I added everything up manually, it should have been $3075 store credit and NOT $2093. I also did the math and it appears that if you want it in cash form, it will be roughly 64.45% of the store credit.On Friday 11/6, I explained to the owner there was almost a $1k difference when adding up the numbers. He said that this is the value he has in the system. So, I then asked the owner if it was okay if we run these numbers through a calculator to make sure I didn’t miss anything. The owner then rambled on about how his staff took 4 days looking through all my boxes and if I want, I can just take everything back. I then told him that I’m sorry if I said something wrong, but I needed to look at this breakdown to determine if there is something I wanted to keep. So, the owner went to back with a male staff. Also, a female staff just showed up and was being filled in. After the female staff came out, I asked her if we can just run though the sheets together.After 5 minutes, we came to the same number and we were finally in agreement that it should total $3075. As she was explaining to the owner about the amount, the owner said that we can’t use this list because it’s just a rough draft since you can’t input collectible game items that doesn’t have the game in the system and what’s in the system is what counts because each item is connected to a listing on his computer. So, I asked the owner can he just print me out a list so I can review it then? He said that’s not possible because of the way the system is designed. I then asked if I just trade in my comics, movies, and board games (removing the video games), will these numbers still be honored? His response was that I should just take everything back. Ever since I brought up the $1k discrepancy, the owner kept suggesting for me to just take everything back if I don’t like his offer. I’m just trying to get the correct amount for each item but the owner doesn’t seem to want this to happen and even with the breakdown list, he wants to forget the list.HERE IS THE INTERESTING PART: Later, he said that my items are entered as a ‘BULK’ item in the system, that’s why you can’t see the breakdown in the system. This is where the owner CONTRADICTS everything. He INITIALLY said that each item was entered into the system to a corresponding item list, NOW he says that it’s entered as a ‘BULK’ item. This means that whoever added the numbers initially on paper, also entered that same amount to the ‘BULK’ item on the machine. So of course, it will have a TRICKLING EFFECT to what you see on the system!In the end, I couldn’t accept the offer. Even though the owner WASN’T the one who evaluated the items, he wanted to stick with the lower amount on the system for whatever reason. The owner couldn’t even tell me where he would deduct the 1k from in the itemized list and if you look through the list, where can you even lower that much with what I was willing to trade in. So, I’m just supposed to take his word for it and lose out on $1k SOMEWHERE from this list? If he doesn’t trust the list his own staff created, why can’t he actually redo it?

We recently had my sons PlayStation repaired at Legacy Toys. Prices are more than fair, and work was done quickly. They also have a great selection of collectible games, and if they dont have what youre looking for, they will order it for you. The wait is well worth it when you get such friendly service. Id much rather put money in their hands than at Target or Amazon. Super grateful to have this small business around.

The stores signage is so small its not noticeable from the street. Made it difficult to find on a busy street.

Owner is an excellent resource for the avid gamer as well as the newbie novice. They will go the extra mile to help you find what you are looking for if they dont have it in their store. The store usually has exactly what we are looking for, and there is always something new and exciting to surprise us as well. Legacy is the perfect example of a small shop that keeps up with the big boys like Game Stop or Wal Mart, but will always be heads above most competitors because of their mom and pop personal and ethical standards in dealing with the customers.

Anytime Im in the area, I like stopping by. I usually do not leave empty handed. Everything is well-priced and the people that work there are very friendly and super helpful.

This place is amazing for anybody in to retro gaming. the owner Glenn is knowledgeable not only on all systems and games but he also has technical expertise that allows him to repair video game systems. Hes extremely friendly and his prices are more than fair. Pay them a visit if you havent already, you wont regret it.

Took my beloved Halo Xbox one controller to get it fixed. After a couple of weeks they called me to let me know if was ready. It looks clean and almost brand new. It took them longer than expected but I guess they have lots of work repairing stuff since theyre the only ones in the area

Great place. Lots of video games, collectable action figures, and other memorabilia. Glenn was really nice and gave me a great deal on some Star Wars action figures. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great prices on cool stuff.

The owner of this store is so knowledgeable and helpful! I stumbled across his store when I was trying to find a place that would resurface my unplayable games and DVDs. Every store I called wanted $3-5 to resurface each disk. I found Legacy and he told me since I had many disks he would resurface for $1 each. I was able to get all my disks resurfaced as good as new. He has also helped trouble shoot different issues I have had on our many different consoles and games that werent working free of charge. If he needed a part he didnt already carry he ordered it for me. It is a rare occurrence to have honest, local small business owners that have integrity and a great rapport with their customers. The bigger chain retailers only care about their profit margin. Not so with Legacy Toys and Games! My family and I will be repeat customers for years to come. Its my kids favorite store to go to :)

Unfriendly service. Id look around and the guy up front would just stare at me. Granted I was the only one in the store, but the man was clearly just watching me as i walked around the store. Hed asked if I needed help which was nice, but I didnt so I declined, but then he kept asking just about every other minute. It was frustrating having to reassure the guy that I didnt need help. I was just hoping someone else would come in so I could look around in peace, but sadly it didnt happen. After about the 5th time in counting of saying I didnt need help I just said that I was done then left. I dont know the guys name but he was a hefty but not fat white guy.

Shop has no ethics and run by a scammer. Held a unit for repair and did no work but charged for it and refused a refund of the charge. Brought in the reciept and was told it would be reversed but never happened. Also lied about an employee working there not sure what that was about.

Fair game trade for old games I dont play anymore and also like the fact that they have a machine to fix your old, scratched non playable games, they fixed my games for cheap now im playing metal slug all day again, thanks guys.
