First, park in the back if the front is full - lots of space and easy to circle the building to leave.This is the place to go for a delicious sandwich. Her liverwurst sandwich is perfect (for those who love liverwurst). All her selections are simple, fresh and made to order. Your taste buds will thank you.

Omg, the Turkey sandwich was amazing, theyre $3:50 each and theyre huge. I ate it with my chips before I could post a pic lol. Ill definitely be back.

I know people that have been going here since the early 80s. Ive been going here for over 15 years and I will continue you to. There are drinks and chips but the main attraction are the sandwiches and shakes the shakes are thick whole milk shakes, the sandwiches are heavy meat stuffed how your parents made in school sandwiches. I look forward to many more years in the future.

If your Mom makes great sandwiches like mine youll love this place. Keep in mind there are only a few choices. This lady isnt my Mom, but she has clear Mom sandwich skills. The milkshake wasnt for me, but Id try it again (basically a couple scoops + milk in a blender).

First time at the duchess. Went inside ignorant to it being cash only. Went to go pay and didn’t have any cash. The staff said it’s fine don’t worry about it. Even the local customers all offered to pay for us.We had planned to run out to an atm real quick at gas station. Everyone insisted that it was fine. Will be going back again soon but this tome with extra cash for our food and payback. Great place to go!

I have been buying homemade milkshakes from Maggie since I was 10 years old. This place looks exactly as it did when I was a kid time def stood still here. An easier life. Its a mainstay and staple in the area. Maggies ice cream floats, milkshakes and sandwichies are about as homemade as it gets. I will always come back to see Maggie and get a shake soun from her. Totally recommended. 5 star review.

Great Sandwiches, Great Shakes, Great Prices - My wife and I love the sandwiches from the Duchess Shop. They are piled high with meat and are delicious. The price for a sandwich is either $2.50 or $3.50 depending on which one you choose. Its the best sandwich value in Ellicott City.

The milkshakes are amazing, and the sandwiches are piled high! (There were chunks of fresh peaches in the peach ice cream!) They slice the meat for the sandwiches when you order. They serve hand dipped ice cream as well. There are coolers with drinks, too. The parking lot in front only holds a few cars, but it looks like there is room in the back. This is carry out only.

This shop is simple, inexpensive and lovely. The sandwich-maker is a sweet woman who meticulously assembles simple sandwiches while you wait. My husband and I get cheese and tomato sandwiches for $2.50 a piece. We went yesterday and her shop was open and clean.

Greeted by a sweet old lady who is very, very generous with the meat. Definitely worth more than what she charges. I always wondered about this place as I passed it the past decade. I regret not having tried it sooner. She was willing to put in both ham and Turkey when I was debating which one i should get. Two sandwiches and a bag of chip came to a little over 9.

We ordered different flavors for the birthday party and it made it an unforgettable event! The staff are very nice and well trained. We got a great and nice customer service.

Ive been going here with my family for years. Its always a wonderful treat to get their milkshakes. You get a whole lot of bang for your buck with the sandwiches with ample meat or cheese, though toppings are limited to pretty much lettuce, tomato, mayo, and mustard I believe. Its really worth it the price, and I love this place.

Great food! This is a local gem. Some might refer to them as theLittle man. They were in this location long before all the new restaurants and stores moved into the area of Rt.103. I remember coming here as a child 20+ years ago. I love seeing Mrs. Maggie behind the counter still, humbly making delicious simple sandwiches. The meat is stacked almost 2 high and she always has fresh ripe tomatoes. Ive always wanted to ask where her and her late husband were from(as she speaks with a rich Eastern European accent) and how long the store has been open for. It really feels special, almost like Mom or Grandmom was making you a sandwich. Two words of advice, bring cash with you as they do not accept credit cards(they are still old school), and dont be in a hurry. She makes the sandwiches with pride so shes not really in a hurry. Enjoy!

She has been doing this for over 40 years and its a great place to grab a huge sandwich for $3.50, the milkshakes cost more than the sandwich! They are again, amazing and simple. Youre missing out if you dont try this place.

This place has been around 20+ years and they make the best deli sandwiches. The only place you can get an 8 dollar sandwich for 2.50. Milkshakes are great, truly old fashion. If your blue collar and do work in the Columbia Ellicott city area this is where you go for lunch!

Loooove this place, as does my 6yo. The sandwiches are packed high, the meat alone is piled an inch. Tomatoes are juicy, lettuce is crisp and fresh, and mayo tastes homemade (not sure if it is but it is in a metal container, not a jar). My son loves sitting in the front seat of the car and eating (there are no tables or chairs inside - my guess is to keep the parking lot turning over, extra parking in back btw). Cant recommend enough.

I do not live in the area, but Googled best Sandwich places in Catonsville area. This place popped up, and looked like an old fashioned Sandwhich/Milkshake place which I found intriguing. So I went today, and ordered 2 Sandwiches. 1st was liverwurst, and 2nd was Roast beef. Both were awesome. Roast beef was med rare, fresh lettuce, fresh tomatoes, and topped with salt n pepper with your choice of mayo, or mustard. The portions were awesome. Both Sandwiches cost me only $6.75!!!!! I highly recommend this place, a true gem with no frills. My kinda spot!
