This is a great hardware store, and a great Home Depot.There is a great variety of items and each department is well organized and very clean. The staff is very well informed. They guy that made my keys, today, has worked there for 14 years. I have renovated house with everything from Home Depot, including lumber, appliance, cabinets, and paint.

This store has only one employee who covers the door / window department. I will do you a big favor, go someplace else unless you have hours to waste waiting. Half the time there is nobody working this department at all.

We saw one of the employees and asked him to help. It was for walkway lighting. John got on his knees to reach many of the lights deep in the back of the shelves on the lowest shelf. He was personable & helpful. A good experience.

We ordered binds from Home Depot and they schedule someone to come out and measure the windows. On two separate occasions they didnt show up. We called the third party company who does the measurements and left a message no reply. When we finally got a hold of them they said their person was there and they called us - we asked where we could send a screen shot of our recent calls because no one called. Their reply was we were there and my answer was im happy to send you the front gate camera footage. i should have know not to use Home Depot for blinds - live and learn.

Cant speak on the actual store itself. However, the parking lot where I chose to park my 36 foot RV for a few nights was very nice! Clean, quiet and not a single unwelcome vibe was received.

I have always really liked this place. The problem is getting out with only what you came to get. I do think HD has upped its game by having more staff.

I like this store in Encinitas but last night I went to buy a stove. I could not find any person to help. Another older lady with a cane wanted to buy a washer. After walking around a big store & making calls someone came.I let the other woman be helped first & I went. home ...

Unfortunately, this is the only big box hardware store around. I do a lot of shopping at hardware stores and after moving here I discovered home Depot was the only game in town. Pretty disappointing because the folks that work there are burdened and it shows. Its all but impossible to find anything even if asking someone who works there. Ill as often than not get wrong directions. :-/ what I like about it are the clearance areas. Ive gotten porcelain tile for 13¢ a piece and I do appreciate that.

If i cant find something at Lowes, i come here and they will have it

Terrible customer service. We bought a fridge that was found to be damaged and came to exchange it for an undamaged one and kept getting told to go talk to different people. We got sent to appliances who sent us to customer service, who sent us to relieving who sent us to appliances. No one wanted to take responsibility and help. We left and wont be returning to this store.

I picked up a Penske Truck today at Home Depot and Kimber helped me. She did a fabulous job and helped get me in and out very quickly. Kimber is an outstanding employee.

Their online ordering, curbside pick up, and customer service are poor. I made an order online in the morning at 8 am for 12 bags of dirt. I never heard that my order was ready so I dropped in at 1. They said that my order hasnt been pulled yet and that it usually only takes 2 hours. At that point had been well beyond 2 hours. The customer service lady did not check in with anybody and said there was no one to help. I decided to wait a few more hours and then called in at 6:00 p.m.. My order had still not been pulled in the lady said that there was no one there to fulfil my order. I mentioned to her that I put the order in the 8:00 a.m. And I assumed with curbside pickup I would be able to pick it up same day. Otherwise I would have just ordered online and had it delivered to my house. I ask if she could just transfer me to the garden work there someone else I could talk to him she said they were short on work income have anyone here to help. I mentioned to her that this was bad customer service that I had already been in to the actual store and called back and that no one can give me answers. She said to try to call back in the morning. I think home depot needs to improve their online customer service in Encinitas. Alot of people are ordering online these days and the customer service lady couldnt even give me answers.

Great organization. Website is very useful to find which aisle an item is in, and the stock level. Self checkout makes things fast. Plenty of parking.

They had all of the parts I needed to fix up an old lawnmower and the staff was friendly and helpful in finding what I was looking for. I will be coming back next time I need supplies or equipment for a project.

Some times is rely hard walk in. But one time that you can get in. You have to walk and walk . Make questions and questions. No body knows were is the things that you looking for . And finally you have to buy something else . But good place .

They had what I wanted to buy at a good price and it wasnt crowded so I didnt have to wait to check out. What more do you want?

Very friendly staffs. I went there to pick up an outdoor shed. When we realized that the boxed shed would not fit in my minivan, they offered help and took apart the box and put all the pieces one by one carefully in my minivan. That not only saved me an extra trip, but also made it much easier for me to take the pieces out of the car when we reached home and we did not have to worry about recycling the huge box. Thank you guys.

For whatever reason HD thinks it is imperative to block 80% of the aisles with whatever bs product they are pushing that week. Customers can hardly pass one another without a cart, with one? Impossible. The employees will block the remaining 20% of the aisle with ladders and talking groups and completely ignore you or tell you to go around you when you ask to get by.I wonder what the fire marshal would think about it?Its a sad joke that these corporate monstrosities have ousted all other hardware stores.

Great, large and mostly healthy plant selection. Plant section does smell like dead rat in some spots, and saw a few (cute) ones running around.

Needed some plumbing parts and found them with the help of a knowledgeable friendly employee named Dave.

Home depot has everything for home repair and improvement. This store is convenient, has a big parking lot and easy to find what you need.

Went into buy some spray paint and the shelves were empty. Asked the clerk a question and for some help. He gave me a rude answer and just walked away. Then he went over and started talking to other clerks and did nothing. I would given zero stars but theres no option.

Time to go at 8pm, no waiting, 4 checkout lanes open.

I found the plants I wanted & at the right price.

Huge fan of Home Depot, never really had a problem until my recent visit at this location. As a PRO EXTRA member and combat veteran, I was immensely disappointed with my experience here. I ordered through the app and upon arrival waited in line for 20 mins (only one other person in line), while I watched five employees help customers with returns, and I was buying! I eventually gave up, got all the items myself, and cancelled the order. I don’t recommend ordering online for store pickup if you know your way around a HD.

This place is always crazy busy. (Impossible to do social distancing) As a result items are sometimes out of stock and forget about getting help. Even self checkout lines have 5 to 6 people queued up most of the time. Recommend going to one of their other locations if at all possible. Their locations on Melrose and San Marcos Blvd. are much saner and easier to get in and out of from a parking standpoint.

Been coming to this location for 14 years. Hit or miss. Customer service is a little surly and difficult. Appliance and cabinet people have been amazing. Their garden department gets better year by year. However for the best Home Depot, go to Claremont location .

Im on day six of quarantine at home after having what I thought was an awful sinus infection and sore throat. Then I got a positive Covid test. Yikes. So when our Encinitas tenant called relaying that his hot water heater wouldnt stay lit and apparently was leaking, my husband (who also had to be quarantined) couldnt go check it out. It was a Rheem gas hot water heater with a 6 year warranty that he had purchased from Home Depot and installed in 9/2015, so it was still under warranty for 5 more months.After numerous calls to various plumbers, who told us that the Rheem warranties were basically worthless and touted their own (very expensive) brands, I then got in touch with an employee named Jacqueline in customer service. She was SO HELPFUL. She looked up the information and we basically got a full refund AND Home Depot took care of the disposal of the old water heater! With her help, I was able to send our handyman there with the old unit, arrange for the refund, and then she called me for our credit card to cover the extra charges for the newer model and needed parts. All from my home! She went above and beyond!We now have STRONG trust that Home Depot will back Rheems warranty and we will continue to buy our needed hot water heaters here. Thank you Jacqueline and Home Depot!

This is the first time I have ever taken the time to write a negative review on any local business. However Ive finally reached my limit with their paint department. I wont bore you story after story of the rude incompetent staff in that department but I have several of them . If you are planning any paint projects in the near future I highly recommend you go to one of the many paint stores in the surrounding area. There are many to choose from and I have used them all . It is day and night in the knowledge and professionalism you will receive.

Every one in this store moving very slow. Milking the clock. Untrained personal from store manager to cashier. No one knows anything. I found faster on Home Depot app and location of items. At pro desk personal does not how to find and pull order it took 1 hour 20 min to find order and to put order together another 1 hour. Horrible customer service I am not working there but I was helping this guy to find all the parts.

Home Depot is home Depot but this particular location really needs to add more employees out in the store to answer questions. I know times are tough right now but the home Depot stock price is soaring and they can afford to provide more service in store. These days its very difficult to find an employee who can answer a question.

Inventory online and in-store didnt match reality. On the plus side, the team working the floor were trying to help as best they could.

They had what I needed, plus choices.And the gentleman at the door directed me where I need to go. With a some quick frivolous shopping if drywall tools, then to gutters for what I needed, and out the door probably 20 minutes or less.

Your phone service is appalling. I bought a dishwasher with a cost of almost $900. When I got home, I discovered that I did not get a complete credit card receipt. Tried calling to get the complete receipt for my records. You wouldnt believe the run around I got . One dept to another. Hang-ups, no answers. Unacceptable. I am royally ticked off.

I love Home Depot. The people are always helpful and I probably learn something new every time I go there. Tonight, I needed some keys cut and even though I arrived fifteen minutes before closing (they close an hour earlier when its DST which I didnt know), the gentleman carefully made my keys and then showed me where to file them if they didnt work smoothly enough. Its nice when people are about their work.

Came out during the rain for some paint. They paint dept was overwhelmed, but still professional and efficient. The person that assisted me, answered my questions and gave me great options. A+++

Lisa in customer service was the best. I ordered online for next day delivery and that was on 9/29 its 10/9 and still no fridge. Phone help was not any help. Carrier was on trac and Ill not purchase from any vendor that uses them.Ill only return Bexar of Lisas genuine customer care.

Dont order online ( it showed quantity 4 at the Encinitas store) only to show up and have it be negative one in inventory. Home Depot is absolutely worthless keeping count of their inventory. I drove 40 miles out of my way because customer service told me to do that and what a mistake that was. Of course I had a bad feeling on the way up and it was confirmed when I got there. I would not use Home Depot again. They had other versions of the same battery that I needed but they refuse to work with me in any way. So I lost about $100 in time and fuel and Home Depot could care less.

Decided to go with the home Depot brand of windows and doors. Better price and awesome guarantee compared to Anderson brand. Kiwi came to our home and set up the details (with color and product samples). Kiwi was knowledgeable and easy to work with...very prompt!

Had items in stock I wanted and purchased very quickly at assisted checkout counter, getting veterans discount.

I rated a 3. Based on customer service,quality of food and how fast the food got to our table in the proper order it should have.Hands down the waitress was remarkable I did not catch your name but she was very prompt courteous and went beyond our needs. The food took a while to get to the table. When it finally did . We were missing a plate so it took a little bit longer to get that last plate. And unfortunately it was for my two-year-old daughter which made things a little bit more Restless. But they were on it as fast as possible to get to the table. We ordered a hamburger two sandwiches and a plate of Curry which all was okay but nothing stood out. The location is remarkable in the view is outstanding that is what sells the restaurant. Unfortunately its a very small tight place. And is ran by a group of kids in their teens and twenties. They were all nice but the place did not seem the cleanest the floor was filthy dirty and look like it has not been professionally cleaned years. That was the first thing I noticed we walked in.. I probably would not suggest this place to any of my friends.

After waiting for the other person in the department to help me, I finally placed my own order on their computer. that person who Ive been waiting on forever came to yell at me and told me he could help me after four other people that I have been in front of. Definitely wont go back to this home Depot again.

Under staffed and poorly managed Home Depot, payed material and had to wait to get my change due do insufficient funds at registers. No help in loading material had to wait one hour to get assistance from a fork lift operator from the time I payed for the material. Under staffed and poorly managed.

This HD hasnt slowed one bit. It was packed and only half the people were wearing masks once inside. Which for me was too much risk. Im sure this HD is as good as any other. Its certainly my go to DIY store.

I had a great experience I had a great experience. I got to my Home Depot in Encinitas on Town Center Drive at 6:10 a.m. I headed for the coffee pot at the pro desk, it was filled with fresh delicious Gourmet Coffee. The cops were clean I filled mine up I use their sugar and cream, thank you Home Depot. I headed for the bathroom it was all so clean I really myself I splash water on my face, and proceeded to make my way through the store. Each employee was hard at work minding their own business, yet friendly enough to ask me if I needed any help. Eyeglass around like the old days and headed out of the store full of product and well pleased with the prices thank you Home Depot :-)

Good Home Depot, they have everything you would ever expect to find in any Home Depot. Great nursery section, lumber, tool and appliance sections and the employees are as helpful as they can be. Pretty well-maintained and a large parking lot. This particular Home Depot is on the corner of leucadia boulevard / Santa Fe and El Camino Real. Its impossible to miss if youre driving on El Camino Real in a car. The only reason I dont give it 5 stars is because it needs an upgrade and its very busy pretty much all the time unless you go after 7 p.m.

A Mans heaven

I went there yesterday and the lady in the Garden Section was not wearing her mask. She was talking to all her fellow co-workers at a very short distance. Everyone looked uncomfortable but no one dared to say anything. Total lack of consideration. I did not want to ask her for help but she seemed to be the boss there. She tried to talk to me but I turned my face and she then put on her mask and I then asked her what I was looking for. They wont see me again...

Love this location. The employees are all nice, very helpful and they give doggie treats! Took my almost 6 month old shepherd/lab puppy with me. ☺
