4.5, rounded up. Coffee was great - extra hot flat white with oat milk. No pastries left at noon on a weekday. Fast and pleasant service.

Stopped by with my friends to get some well needed caffeine. The three of us got iced americanos with extra shots and that drink had me going throughout the day. At the time we got there, it seemed everyone outside was either running or biking, definitely a place to visit again.

I was visiting Encinitas from Michigan. I chose this coffee shop because of the convenient location during my morning walk. I loved the atmosphere here and the staff was amazing! I will definitely visit again. My coffee was amazing! I chose their signature coffee with some cream and a little vanilla. Yum!

Great quality coffee and the interior is really nice. The only downside, the girl who served me and my elderly mom was incredibly rude. I asked a simple question about parking and she was really curt with me. When my mom tried to ask about a drink on their menu, she was super short and not helpful at all, she even got the order wrong. When i went back to tell her, she looked at me like I made a mistake and told me to take it to the guy in the back. The guy who actually made my drink was very apologetic and nice and immediately re-made my drink.

Grabbed a cup of flat white. The coffee does not taste as strong as I expected, it’s more like latte. Wasn’t bad if it’s latte though.

Great coffee but I graded down due to accessibility. There is no parking and it’s in a high traffic intersection. I parked 2 blocks away and walked over so beware it’s tough to just stop in and park out front. Other than that it was a good experience.

Ironsmith is that local small beach town vibe. Everyone seems to know everyone and the peeps are very nice. Always a solid mocha and their tea is delightful too. 10/10 taste and presentation. It’s also a super nice place to get a little work done and is way less hustle and bustle compared to Better Buzz. 💕 By far my favorite cup of Joe

Cute and quaint. Unfortunately I go to coffee shops to get great coffee. Coffee is not good at all. Americano was hardly coffee flavored water. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra who knows how much money for an extra shot of espresso if you actually want to taste some coffee flavor 👌🏼 Do not recommend.

Cute little spot, but staff was really unfriendly and the coffee just wasn’t good! VERY limited seating so probably wouldn’t be good to plan on bringing a laptop here. Partner got an iced Americano, I got an iced latte and we were just really not fans. After reading so many positive reviews, maybe I was just there on an off day? Might give it another try!

Love this place to no end! If youre a coffee geek, you will love this place! These guys take great pride in the coffee process from seed to cup. Space is limited so perhaps its not the ideal to cozy up with your laptop, but it can be done. Always a great aesthetic inside with rotating artists work on display. Great location close to the beach.

Coffee head from London. This place has legit beans and espresso. They adjust the roast for the method of brewing which is rare to find. They didn’t have pour over but the espresso was as smooth as some of the best and the filter is fresh. I bought some of their Ethiopian blend which they use for drip and they let me try it under espresso. The Colombian was complex which is rare as well. Legit coffee.

Really good coffee. I ordered one of their black coffee options and they split it between a mug and a container. That way it stayed hot and I could poor it into my mug when I was ready. Flavor was fantastic, no need to add anything. In an ideal world seating would be better but they utilize the small space they have well.

Pleasantly surprised by the superb quality of this little coffee shop. Its professionally crafted coffee and pastries made by people wearing rad leather and denim aprons. The spicy chai is out of this world and the scones look amazing!Ambiance is chill. Been here a couple times, the staff is very friendly and you can tell they are definitely looking for your best interest. One guy recommended a ginger tumeric (I think thats what its called), and it was really good! It had a different, sightly zesty taste to it. Not to mention they have amazing coffee cake:)

I ordered a Mayan mocha that has cayenne pepper. I was not warned of how hot this coffee is and am used to spicy foods; however, when I got it, it was extremely spicy and not drinkable at all! I asked them to change it for something else or for the same coffee with less cayenne pepper but I was told they could not do that. I am very disappointing about the service on this place and I would not recommend it at all. Having so many more awesome coffee shops in Encinitas, why do we have to put up with this service!

Excellent espresso. Medium bodied, acidity shines through with no pucker at all, even as it cools. Milk chocolate. Seems like it would do great as a ristretto.Tried a Latte Mule as well, which was great! Lightly sweet ginger, cream and coffee, gives way to a refreshing mint finish, lingering on your palate while holding hands with the coffee, preparing you for the next sip. The espresso does great in this drink.Nice, crisp, clean shop, just like their espresso. Would come here all the time if I lived here. Great job guys! Thank you. :)

Incredible third wave espresso roaster and brewer in Encinitas. Best coffee in the area, if not the county - hands down. Small batch in-house roaster using beans that they source directly. The baristas are all super friendly and very talented at their craft. Espresso is consistently pulled well, never get a burnt cup (and I come here multiple times a week). Cold brew is amazing too. The consistency in their high level of quality is unmatched. Come support this local business, these guys are awesome !

CUTE COFFEE SPOT(3.4)If this tiny coffee shop could be on the same street as Better Buzz and Philz and maintain presence, THEY must be doing something right!- Espresso, ok.- Price, meh.- Service, great.- Ambiance, nice.VANILLA LATTE - the beans used was The Don which has peach, citrus, and herbal notes. The presentation was clean but the taste was ok. Im beginning to truly understand the type of roast/bean that I have preferences for. I like a more balances and smooth and creamy profile not the fruity/citrusy tones.Until the next review...

I almost dont want to write a review, because I dont want to share my little spot, but it is too good to keep to myself! There is no sign, so you will have to look for the blue building next to SunBum, across the street from the iconic La Paloma Theatre. They do not need a sign and they do not need reviews. This little gem is cranking the business and it is no wonder. If you are like me and you want some kindness served up with your morning coffee, then this is your place. No attitude. So refreshing! The owners travel to the farms where the coffee is grown, they bond with the workers and bring back the beans themselves. Columbia, Ethiopia, and Guatemala. If I cant get my coffee at Ironsmith, Im skipping coffee.I have my daily Americano in a mug for here with a tall glass of water. It is so powerful I can only have one. The staff is incredibly considerate. They have learned my habits, and they spoil me. Its the little things, right? They see me coming and when I get to the counter inevitably one of them has put out the honey, the warmed, liquid coconut oil, the cayenne and the cinnamon for me to dose my coffee and make it into my Roz Special Superfood Americano. My dog is welcome, I can sit for hours on my computer and crank out my work in the midst of other productive people. Ive made a ton of friends and contacts here. Its the only business I go to every single day.

My wife and I saw the new shop being fitted out when we rode our bikes past a while back.We thought it would be a good thing to have a competitor near Loftys. We needed some freshly roasted coffee beans for home so I popped in here a few days ago and tried a house blend cappuccino. The guy behind the counter said it was a Brazil / Kenya blend and wanted to put a double shot in a 6oz cup but I opted for the larger 12 oz latte size.I had to stand while I drank it as there were no available seats...this place is tiny and it was happy hour for the laptop gang.My cappuccino was okay...nothing to get excited about.I bought a 1 lb bag of Guatamala beans for around 17 bucks and left. This coffee joint is definitely catering to a different clientele than Loftys and Caffe Calabria which are our favorites.I would have liked the Guatamala beans I bought here to have more flavor.I noticed the roast date written on the bag was 03/05 which meant they had already been sitting on the front shelf for nearly a week when I bought them.I dont enjoy putting the boot into a new business but the bar will have to go up a few notches before we come back again.
