I had the most wonderful experience at wooden spools, everyone was so sweet and helped me while I was shopping. I was very grateful to have them help me. Not only was the customer service amazing but the selection was great! Not only did they have a lot of different fabrics but they also had lots of buttons and patterns that you can buy. I came all the way from Phoenix and I will definitely make it back in the future. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

I stopped in at this quilt shop because the other shop I wanted to go to didn’t open until 11am. I’m so happy that I did! I love the concept of revived fabrics and the treasure hunt of looking through all the different fabric to find exactly what I needed. The prices were great! Only 1.50 per fat quarter of quilt quality fabric that were presented in the most adorable folded triangles. The ladies were both so nice and welcoming. I didn’t end up making it to the other shop as I found everything I needed here. Can’t wait to stop by again and see what other great finds there are.

This is one of my favorite yarn shops! Well, if you are a quilter or just plain sewing crazy this might be your future favorite shop too! The ladies that run this shop are always so very helpful, knowlageble, and nice as can be!And just a lil secret, they are very reasonably priced, so you wont leave feeling like your wallet will float away an you only bought one skein or batt! They also have a online store, just so you know....

Very nice store with a beautiful selection. They do buy and u resell quilters cotton in excellent/unused/unwashed condition. They have a $2.99 clearance section of quality quilting cotton that is just wonderful for the sewing I do for charity. Employees were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Lovely Shop! It has yarn and fabrics. I do quilts, embroidery and sewing and I found some great and pretty fabrics for my projects. Im from out of town I was visiting California. I always try to found little quilt fabric shops to support and definitely this is a lovely cute little store.

Great yarn shop. They have a nice selection of both common brands (such as Cascade Yarns) and boutique (local and abroad). The people were friendly and helpful. They stock ChaiGoo knitting needles and sets. There was a little table in the bathroom to change a baby diaper.

One of my favorite local yarn shops. Its a hybrid shop between knitting and quilting and the staff is very knowledgeable about both. Great prices and themed sales frequently. Great quality of yarns abs reasonable prices. Great for any skill level, they even offer affordable classes. Drop on in and take a peak at this great find of a shop.

Wooden Spools is my LYS (local yarn store) of choice. The women that work here are very friendly and helpful. Ive found that the other customers can be really helpful too! They have an incredible selection at different price points. There are always really beautiful sample knits in the shop as well.

The online reputation of this store definitely preceded my visit! Not a single one was an overstatement. I was visiting from out of town, have only visited the Denver area a few times, but found Wooden Spools very easily, by public transit, no less. As soon as I arrived I was greeted very warmly, was not treated either obtrusively or as non-existent (as can be common practice at local yarn shops, dont know why), was not treated as an oddity for being a male (as can be common practice at local yarn shops, really wish folks would get over their incredulity), and was actively helped to find exactly what I was looking for -- some gorgeous, reasonably-priced lace weight yak/silk yarn. Then, of course, the nice surprise of a generous discount based on one of their ongoing sales (for which, it appears from other reviews, this store has a high reputation), and friendly conversation while my yarn was wound (without complaint; considering my purchase totaled over 1200 yards across 3 hanks, I am incredibly thankful!!). This will definitely be my go-to yarn store to visit whenever Im in Denver. Telling all my knitter and quilter friends about this place!!

Yarn side:Wooden Spools has a great selection of yarns of all types. They also carry a wide price range, instead of some shops that carry mostly $20+ per skein. The ladies are very knowledgeable, and supporting. Ive never had a bad experience in there!Fabric side:You just cant beat their prices! They sell quilt shop quality fabrics for less than $10 per yard! Many for around $6! The fabrics they buy from quilters are very high quality, and you would never know it had a previous owner. The ladies are happy to help find coordinating fabrics, or to let you browse alone.Other things:Wooden Spools has a great series of classes from knitting and crocheting to serging and quilting. The instructors and staff are very kind and fun to interact with. The store is light and inviting, and theres always something new to discover. They run a letter sale every two weeks, starting with A in January and working through the alphabet. The deals are awesome, and I always look forward to the next letter!

I was introduced to this shop during the 2018 Yarn Crawl. Some of the unique items I found were the possum blend yarn and hand dyed cotton which look like suede. A fun shop with kind staff, it is worth frequenting.

Honestly, I cant walk in here without purchasing something (if not many somethings). I live a very short walk away and constantly have to tell myself that I have plenty of yarn (said no knitter ever). Definitely a great selection of yarns and such a friendly environment. They were so helpful, delightful, and all around amazing! I am working on my first quilt project and they gave me so much guidance. Before I discovered Wooden Spool I visited a few other quilt shops. All the others weren’t helpful and made me feel unwelcomed. I was starting to feel discouraged before I found you guys! Wooden Spool made me feel welcomed and they actually cared about my project. They offered so much advise and explained to me all the details. It was nice to be somewhere that didn’t mind helping me. I can’t rave enough about how amazing this place is!!

Wonderful selection of yarn including local handspun, high quality international supplies, and some really unique fibers. The have high quality supplies, and quilting fabrics as well. The quilting fabrics are unique and such a beautiful selection. The staff is always kind and extraordinarily helpful!

Great prices on yarn and fabric. Small town feel with personable owners and cozy atmosphere. Constantly updating their merchandise. They have a free Tuesday Knit/Crochet night and great classes for every experience level.

I love that its primarily recycled fabric. Consequently prices are more affordable. I can always find something that I need here! And best of all, they have Aurifil thread!

My first (and last) experience here was regarding a class for which I had registered (and paid $35); they called to postpone the class and I couldn’t make the change, and even had to cancel from the original date. They wouldn’t refund my registration fee even though they were changing the date.

My mom was in town looking for a certain brand of yarn and they had it! The ladies here are so pleasant and mom was so pleased! Thank you!

We had family in town, and one of them wanted to go to a quilting store. I searched Yelp!, and discovered Wooden Spools. Off we went, to see if they would have what my family member wanted.When you walk into Wooden Spools, you immediately feel at home! Yes, you feel at home, like youve come home to a long lost friend. The staff is so friendly, I felt like I could sit down with a cup of coffee, chat, and just get caught up on things.The store is small, but it has everything you could possibly need to do some quilting, or some yarn work (like knitting or crochet). I loved how everything was so organized (I love organization!), in such a small space. Dont let that fool you, it is a small store, but they have everything! My family member found everything she needed, and then some!While shopping, we all got to talking to the employees, and had a very nice time, well, shopping! When was the last time you could say that?The items in the store are top quality, and the staff really know their craft. I believe they even offer classes, but dont quote me on that, give then a call.My family member paid for her purchases, and we all said good-bye to the staff that were there on that afternoon. I actually hated to say good-bye, really! It was so nice just being inside the store. They have such a great selection of fabric and really reasonable prices. I love their sales- theyre so fun- they go through the alphabet and base their sale on the letter- it was H on my last visit so all holiday fabric was on sale.
