After a long night of work...we wanted something new, something different.Enter the Sunny Side Kitchen in Escondido!!We tried 3 of their sandwiches: the Chicken Bacon Ranch Panini, the Gourmet Grilled Cheese Panini, and the Turkey Bacon Club. All were amazingly delicious!! Awesome toasted sourdough and CRISPY bacon!Glad we stopped by and look forward to going back for more. 😄

Ive posted about them before, but wanted to give an update after eating there for about 2-2.5 years! Service is always fantastic whether you order online or in person. Everything that Ive tried has always been exceptional (GET THEIR NEW MAC AND CHEESE!!!!!!!!) I love having this place so close as its become one of my pregnancy cravings lol. If you love coffee and like to try new things, their sparkling espresso is one to remember. Overall, if I could give this place more than 5 stars I would not hesitate to do so. Such a cute little place. Food was AMAZING! Wife and I had no idea what to get so we asked the young woman at the register and she recommended the Tuscan Chicken Panini. It was amazing! We were on our way to a wine tasting so we got it to go and they were even nice enough to offer us water while we waited. Highly recommend stopping here if youre passing through Escondido.

Small, local shop excellent paninis, salads, freshly squeezed lemonade. Not a huge selection on menu but thats because they are sticking to what they do best and the food doesnt disappoint.Small eating area, so its perfect to call ahead and grab your food before heading to the beach, park, or zoo!

First time here and as soon as we walk in the door we are welcomed with a smile.Now for the food. It was healthy well balanced and at more than fair price for the experience and the flavor of the food.Very happy we stopped by what are you waiting for come on down and experience a great breakfast for yourself.

1st time eating here and it seems like an overall nice place! Menu is pretty big, should be able to find something youll like! Didnt have a long wait for food but, we were the only customers at the time. The bread was a little hard (super crispy) but, still good! Would go back!

Great place to go for a weekend brunch! There is seating out back, you do have to walk around since you cant walk through the kitchen, the food is brought directly to you. Try a different plate each time, you will not be disappointed, their coffee is amazing too!!

Upon recommendation from the cashier, we ordered The Works and the Tuscan Chicken. We also ordered SOTD: curry butternut squash. Everything was hearty and delicious. They had fresh batches of bite-sized cookies come out of the oven so we got a dozen. The kombucha only had a tiny hint of fizz but refreshing nevertheless.

Sunny Side never lets me down. Just ordered online to get the lunch special and it is delicious! They are always so friendly when I go in as well. They offer delivery, curbside pickup, and pop in and order as well. Online ordering was really easy and quick and if you have celiac they have an option for that as well.

This kitchen is home to an amazing family and spectacular food! They open up bright and early, and are never late. The meals are not cheap, but neither are the ingredients - it is always of the highest quality and freshness, I see it as a great value. Indubitably THE BEST panini I have ever had. Ordered the club sandwich, was delicious! Saw it on Yelp, had 5 stars so we figured we should give this place a shot and it did not disappoint. Spoke with owner (I think), and mentioned we wanted to try this place out since were new to Escondido. She was so sweet and gave us a complementary cinnamon roll as a thoughtful welcome to the neighborhood gesture, which we absolutely devoured. Overall well definitely come back again to try more of their yummy food and treats 🤤

Im working a construction job in the area and didnt know where to go. This was the closest to me.I think had THE most amazing quiche Ive ever eaten, the coffee was made to order and perfection and I loved how they knew all the other customers names when they came in! Im looking forward to going there for lunch!

This was a treasure find! What a wonderful breakfast spot in a quiet area of Escondido. Sunny Side is a family run restaurant that specializes in Panini sandwiches. My breakfast was amazing. Fresh squeezed Orange juice. Fresh Coffee individually filtered right before you eyes. My egg and cheese Panini was perfect. They also carry lots of gluten free bread, muffins, cookies and crustless quiche.

Leaving a review because I love this place. It reminds me of a quaint European café, unpretentious with great food. All the food is handmade with care by Kate and her team. Manning the front is her partner in crime and significant other. Get a soup or a salad they are excellent and spot-on the Panini‘s are great as well. Finish off with a great brownie or cookie bite and cup of coffee or frozen beverage.Having been here multiple times each time has been excellent would highly recommend this place, however do not go too often as we don’t want it to become crowded. 😉

What a nice little place! A friend and I were walking a few miles away at Kit Carson Park, looking for somewhere to fill up after burning probably fewer calories than we pretended. We had Keto-Friendly salads, clam chowder and the Blueberry Green Tea--all very good. The servers were super friendly.Everyone made us feel welcome. Looking forward to returning. Downtown Escondido is a charming place for shopping and eating out.

Wow! Really impressed with their paninis.. I went thinking of regular breakfast but quickly saw they pretty much have sandwiches and salads. But my girl and I were really pleased with our food. The works (avo, bacon, egg and cheese) panini was amazing! They use some of the best sandwhich bread Ive ever had and the portioning of ingredients was perfect. The strawberry salad also had a great flavor and blend. The Tom Collins is fresh made and the mini cookies are soo good!

They make their sandwiches like I make my grilled cheese, with cheese seared onto the outside of the bread. Also, their fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade is to die for. It just tastes real and homemade, which it obviously is because its full of smashed lemon halves and strawberry. The waitress was super friendly but not in a fake or annoying way, all around good place for a quick work break lunch.

My mom had the meatloaf panini and said it’s the best meatloaf she’s had (other than her mom’s) and I had the veggie panini, which was fantastic with sun dried tomatoes, feta, and spinach... And don’t pass on the mini cookies!! Definitely planning on going back and coming up with a reason to have a “Steak Night” with them!

Was going to give 4 stars because the breakfast sandwich was good but went with 3 because ultimately, I will not be returning.Ordered half of a bacon egg and cheese panini and a vanilla latte. The panini was good, it’s on sourdough and it had traces of herbs which added a nice twist! Egg was a small circle, I was expecting a little more. The coffee was nothing special, my mini keurig makes better tasting coffee. I also wasn’t asked what size I wanted and I got a tiny (12 oz?) cup. Would’ve been nice to have been asked about the size. Overall customer service was ok, maybe the reviews I read on here hype up the place too much or I just caught them on a “meh” morning.Ultimately what threw me off was the price, I ended up paying $13 and some cents but what I got was definitely not worth the price. Could pay the same and get a full meal elsewhere.Worth a stop if you’re looking to support a small business!

The food here is soooo good!!! They staff is very kind and personable. I was visiting from out of town but the staff new many people by name which is nice to see! Came in for breakfast. Ordered the oatmeal. It was not cooked thoroughly and the oats were tough. Eggs in panini were over baked and hard. Could not cut through with a knife. On the plus side they have gluten free options which is always a great find for a family member who has a significant gluten allergy. They have gluten free quiche and muffins and the muffin was very good. Our daughter had a hot chocolate which was great-lots of whipped cream on top.

Everyone was so nice and friendly..... even the customers! I ordered the avocado, egg and cheese panini, which was delicious! This was my first time here, but it definitely wont be my last!

I love this place so much. I love the staff. I love the food. I love the vibe. I would eat here every day if I could. The staff is so accommodating to quirky orders. Note, they make everything by hand and the place is very popular so they can get a little backed up. But Ive had great success calling in my order and picking it up.

Phenomenal panini

I like to support local places, this place is tiny and cute. Only change that I would make is to add basics such as option for scrambled eggs, sausages and a regular coffee machine. Also, the idea for reusable bottles of drinking water is good, but water needs to be colder.Food is delicious, just try to go there when there are fewer than 15 customers.

Everyone was so sweet and kind! One of the owners chatted with us when it slowed down, he was very friendly. When it was time to go, they wrapped up and boxed my kiddos sandwich so we could take it home!

This place was an amazing find. Great service in this small local establishment. Plus the food was amazing. Who can say no to a grill cheese with bacon?! I had the meatloaf sandwich. I am picky about my meatloaf… because you know its not like mom makes. But this was amazing. Their sauce also set the sandwich off and the fresh lemonade. Next trip thru Escondido I will be stopping here. Also great prices for what you get.
