Goldstream is a great shop. The staff are really friendly and have plenty of recommendations for local riding options. They went well out of their way to set me up with a rental bike on a last minute walk-in - thanks to Jordan for that.The store has a good looking selection of kit including shop-branded jerseys and bibs. You can ride 10-15 miles of singletrack right out the front door of the shop.

Even though I purchased my bike a dozen years ago, and I am far from a frequent customer, I received excellent service and pricing. I brought my bike in for some minor repairs and a tuneup, and they fixed everything in a day at a very reasonable price. I was very impressed with the service when I first bought my Gary Fisher here, and my opinion was reinforced this week. Thanks for being awesome!

Ive been riding for 30 years and skiing for 25 all over the US and Canada, and Goldstream sports is one of the best bike and ski shops Ive worked with. Great gear and super knowledgeable and experienced mechanics that do good work for fair prices. Most of the mechanics ride hard in the cold and know how to set you up for riding in the Interior, summer and winter alike.Much more knowledgeable about both bike and ski equipment than the other shops in town, which saves you a lot of time dealing with the wrong gear or broken equipment.

Over the past 5 years Ive bought 2 bikes, a few pairs of shoes, and a bit of gear from these guys. Also had a few repairs done. Ive been really satisfied with every experience. Im a little bummed they moved away from running gear, that was a really great department, very helpful. Im also bummed they no longer do free gold sticker tune-ups. However, I understand the common sense business strategy for them to focus on bikes and stop working for free.

I dealt with Forest on a bike my son needed some work on. It was a surprise for him. The biggest challenge was that I live in Florida and My son is stationed at Ft Wainright in Alaska. After contacting Forest, at Goldstream Sports, a plan was discussed regarding some upgrades and Forest pulled it off brilliantly. The bike came out fantastic, and my son was very surprised with the result. He thought they were giving him the wrong bike, it was that nice. We took our sons bike to this shop. Really, we donated money to them so that Beaver Sports could fix it later. They didn’t fix anything. They seem to have teenagers working who are not competent. Don’t waste your time or money. They are nice enough, so if you feel the need to give them money do so. But it won’t help your bike.

Great customer service! I bought my first bike from Goldstream Sports because I knew very little about it and I really appreciated being fitted by someone knowledgeable about it. My questions were answered and I was given useful advice which led to me buying a bike that suited me well. I love my bike, and Im sure having a well-fitted bike had a lot to do with me becoming an enthusiastic cyclist. I appreciate that 5 years later, Goldstream Sports still gives my bike a free once-over once a year. I recommend Goldstream Sports to everyone. I always go to Goldstream for spring bike tuneup. Quality service, locally owned, and tuneup is a couple days. I like that early during COVID-19 they were one of the first to take the pandemic seriously and served customers outside to minimize risk of COVID infection.

I have been shopping at Goldstream Sports for several years and have purchased from them five bicycles and a few sets of skis, among other items. For these types of items I think a knowledgeable sales person is required to make sure that you are getting a product that is the right size and fit, and I have always had a great experience here. Unlike at a prominent unnamed competitor, the staff are highly competent but dont talk down to you or try to upsell you. I have also found their repair services to be both prompt and excellent.

Terrific shop! 100 outta 10 I’d say. Great deals,great service and staff. You can test your gear and they got gear for running, all kinds of biking and a bunch of tools and extras. Ain’t visited during the winter, but from the name brands I saw around and some of the gear, I’d expect really good X/C Ski service as well.

Wes was extremely approachable and helpful when shopping for my first fat bike. I had some information going in, but didnt know about all of the various components and variables and Wes broke it down in a way that made me feel informed and comfortable.He and another guy at the shop were also extremely helpful in setting my brother and I up to test ride some fat bikes before making a purchase. (It was also a bonus that they had sufficient bikes in stock so that I could test different frame sizes and models.)I received great, attentive, and quick service! Looking forward to returning to the shop for tune-ups and group rides in the future.

I went to Goldstream for the first time in 2018 and got a pair of running shoes. While I was there, I did the running test where they look at your stride and footfall to determine what kind of shoes are going to give you the best support. The staff was incredibly helpful was patient enought to answer the 67.93 trillion questions I had. Since then, Ive started training for the Equinox and Mrs. Stacy (Staci?) who works there has been a fountain of information and is super friendly. All in all, cute little shop, easy to get to, the staff or friendly and know their craft and I one hundred percent recommend you check it out. Its the embodiment of the Alaska spirit. Additionally, they also have bikes and other equipment, not just running stuff. Like I said, 10/10 do recommend.

Friendly and helpful staff that are most concerned with getting you out on your bike even if it isnt one that they sold you. They have helped me keep my hacked together fat bike up and running and provided great support for all of the parts and pieces I have purchased from them. I have now ended up purchasing more bikes for my family and encouraged most of the people I know to shop at Goldstream sports because They are the best bike shop in Fairbanks. I end up stopping by their shop about once a week just to say hi see what new things they have.

We went for shoes. Not a huge selection but definitely all that you need. The lady that helped us was very attentive to our needs. They did a gait analysis and squared us away with shoes. My wife was unsure about hers si they told her that she could take them home try them out and if they didnt work bring them back. This place has amazing customer service! Definitely our go to for shoes and cycling needs now.

Goldstream is the best bike shop in Fairbanks. They take the time to fit you to your new bike. My girlfriend recently bought a new road bike from them. They not only measured her and adjusted the bike correctly, but also changed the seat at no cost to better fit her. She is super happy with the bike, which put a big smile on my face. They have the same philosophy for ski gear and running shoes. They find the best fit at the right price.

This is hands down the best bike shop in Fairbanks. Their mechanics are pure AWESOME! They are constantly bending over backwards to make my bike run like a champ. For example, I stripped out the bolt on my front derailleur and they were going to drill it out, tap it, and put a new screw in. They easily could have just told me it was stripped and I would need to a new front derailleur.Another example; I brought my tour bike in and had them assemble it with parts I already owned. They did not hassle me at all for not purchasing all the parts there, and then spent extra time routing everything perfectly. In fact, I have a rear light that they took the time to drill THROUGH the rear rack instead of just zip tying it to the bars.I promise you will be completely happy with the service and care they take with your bicycle. GO THERE.

Heres the thing: my review is ambivalent, as the running shoes I picked up there were magical (a replacement pair of Brooks) and the salesperson was fantastic. She is no longer there, so I cannot guarantee replicate feelings of mirth. They do a gait analysis on treadmill and record it, which knocks my socks off my face for a place like Fairbanks.Note, however, that when I was in the market for a bike the kid was relatively clueless and tried to talk me out of a cyclocross which all my bike nerd friends said would meet my needs. I was considering a 29er, as they are wonders to ride, but was so underwhelmed by this kids indifference that I ended up going to Beaver Sports. That, sadly, panned out in a similarly mediocre manner.Heres whacha do: size your items in store and then order from Sierra Trading Post. I love that site.
