Nothing different than your typical big bookstore. Great selection and a nice cafe area with a fireplace to sit and read your new book. My only complaint is that there was a bit of moving things around recently and it took me an extra minute to find what I was looking for

Typical B&N. Appreciate that they are requiring masks during the pandemic. Good selection of books, games, magazines, and a variety of other stuff. The Starbucks is a little under staffed but they got our drinks finished in about 10 minutes. Friendly staff. Fairly quiet for a Saturday.

Edit/TLDR: dont sit in the aisles. Use designated sitting areas by the fireplace and Starbucks to read.Barnes and Noble is great. No issues. But my wife visited yesterday and witnessed an interaction that made her, and me upon hearing about it, annoyed and embarrassed. My wife was shopping there with our kids, and noticed two young adult girls quietly reading a couple books in an aisle, sitting on the floor off to one side - clearly not blocking the path. One of your employees, an older lady, came by and in a very irritated tone told the two girls they couldnt sit there and read. Now I will say that Im not sure if its against some safety guidance or rules, or if that somehow violated fire safety, though I really cant see how when in an emergency you have every other aisle to use...But Barnes and Noble isnt just a book store. Especially in a small town with few options. People like to sit and read. And its a completely normal thing, especially in a Barnes and Noble, to see people sitting in aisles, corners, etc and enjoying a book. I hate the thought of young adults choosing to spend their free time in a book store reading, and being scolded for sitting in a quiet aisle. I hope this employee was acting based on safety rules or guidance, and not just her personal pet peeves.

Coffee shop that doesnt allow you to plug in and has wifi that doesnt work. It wasnt just the wifi that day, the staff said it never works. The whole reason I went there and many others do too is because I could get some work done while waiting for a conference to start. People go to coffee shops to work on their laptops and drink coffee. This was really frustrating. If youre not worried about this, its an normal b&n Starbucks. If youre like me, you will want to go to another spot.

Friendly staff, calm atmosphere, and Covid-19 conscious, but I wish they had a wider selection of books. I typically only see the super-hyped up books, and even still, the selection among those books are slim. I’ve rarely been successful in finding a supposedly very popular book on the shelves while other popular books have stacks upon stacks on tables.

Convenient Fairbanks location, good customer service.I am visiting from out of town, and was glad to see the familiar Barnes & Noble signs & shelves. The layout is generally similar to my hometown B&N, but I still asked an Associate for help finding Child, Lee section. The Associate immediately and courteously walked me to correct shelf. With next Jack Reacher book in hand, I browsed a bit and then headed for checkout.I liked the atmosphere, complete with fireplace and comfortable seating.I was second in line, and up for checkout in under a minute. My phone number brought up my Educator discount, which was 25% off on this trip.If I finish this book before I head home, then Ill be back for my next Reacher adventure.

Masks are required to enter the store. No big deal. If youre in the food court consuming beverages and pastries masks are not required. Eating food is the most likely time that a person will spread disease which is why were taught to wash our hands BEFORE we eat, and why tables need to be sanitized after they are used, etc. What burns my backside though is how the staff treats you as they are enforcing these rules. Theyre very rude..Where is the common sense? Open a book! Im sure one of them in your store can shed some light on how viruses are spread. I would advise everyone who is thinking about going here to save yourself the hassle and expense and order off Amazon.

I was very shocked at the change in my local store. I had not been in a while as I work in a remote location. No music playing, no chairs to sit. Shelves empty and the whole store rearranged to cover for lack of new books. I have been an avid reader my whole life and used to go in here and spend 100 at a time. I left today with nothing. I realise that we are living in different times but if businesses wish to survive they need to start catering to their customers better or they wont get any returning at all.

I love the store but when checking out yesterday the cashier, not the normal friendly gentleman who usually helps me, was unfriendly and unhelpful. My grandsons and I were purchasing books and I questioned the price on a book she refused to check on price when I questioned her about it. She didn’t ask if I was a member, I had to tell her to use it. If she didn’t want to be there she should’ve just stayed home. I’ll be back to store but I’ll make sure I work with different cashier next time. I love the gentleman with floral printed shirts he loves his work and it shows.

I love love love the massive fireplace at this barns and noble location - its surrounded with lots of chairs and there are even more places to sit at the Starbucks counter near the fireplace.I love the vast amounts of books and entertainment here and the Starbucks with all its treats and drinks makes it that much more enjoyable.I finally signed up for the barns and noble membership card - its $25 a year and you can save 10% on all your Starbucks drinks/ treats and a certain percentage on all the books and such that barns and noble has to offer.I come here enough that its definitely worth it.Just remember that the membership card only works for Starbucks locations INSIDE barns and noble, and that these particular Starbucks do not accept Starbucks gift cards. This place is definitely a great place to hang out at and I find myself coming back again and again and again.
