The Comic Shop is almost for sure where I spend most of my time. Its the best place in town to get everything you need. As someone who plays Warhammer AND Magic, I LOVE the comic shop. Everyone is super nice, they literally have everything I need (and if they dont, they can usually order it), and all the staff are incredibly helpful and kind. Theres nowhere Id rather be! :)

Dont let small town Fairbanks or the unassuming exterior fool you, this is a one stop gaming hobby shop that can compete with anything you see elsewhere. COVID has thrown off the routine of a lot of gaming communities, but they are here and supported by the shop.The shop is always well staffed and the employees know their shop and can help you.I am all in on the board games and miniatures, not much on the comic books, but its all here.

Ive been buying my books from here for years and they always have a nice selection and very good prices. Plus the staff is wonderful.

Rude employees that seem like they care as much about their jobs as their customers. I can find everything they sell online and usually cheaper. I have gone off and on for years hoping it would get better, but at this point I believe it needs to go. They cannot even seep to do upkeep on the store sign.

I’m a person with breathing problems so as soon as I could I was took both rounds of the covid vaccine. After receiving the shots I received a card stating that I have had the COVID-19 vaccine. Today I was at the comic book store and was approached and asked if I had a mask, I said no. At this point I wasn’t offered one or was I asked for my vaccination card I was just told to leave. When I said you know that’s over and there are rules to follow I was told it’s their store. Now for one the mask law states you can’t discriminate against a person with health problems. I wasn’t allowed to even mention those. Lastly I’m fully vaccinated and carry a card to keep this from being a problem. I guess these people don’t care if the mask could harm you and obviously they don’t believe in vaccines. In a time like this I believe a store like you could learn from Walmart and help the people get past the covid problems by pushing for vacations not penalizing people that are. I really wish someone else would open a comic shop this is truly the worst one I’ve been in.

Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. Awesome place to geek out. Even if youre not into comic books they had a huge selection of other things that anyone could find something inside that they would think is cool. Ive been buying comics here since I was 8 years old and still find something new and different every time I go in.

Recommend. Great experience for nerd couples. Had a wonderful discussion with the staff about BTS, Dice, Ninjas, Jewelry, and masks. Girlfriend brought the dice and was entered into a raffle, and I bought the Kpop wall scroll, all at a good cost.

Ive lived in and visited quite a few states during my time in the service and this is hands down the best comic shop that I have ever been to. They have everything that a proper comic book shop should have...vintage technology, board games, comics and Manga, trading card games, mini figures, dice bin, and imported candies. As well as a dedicated tabletop gaming area for events. Definitely worth stopping by.

Staff was super helpful and friendly. I was there to get some DnD items and gave me a great experience. I loved the pokedomes that they sell by a local artist.

Daphne and the staff are so knowledgable, its so helpful to have a staff who actually like/read/use/know the product. As a teacher, I dont have the time to keep up with all the new manga and its level of appropriateness, so having staff that can make solid recommendations is a huge timesaver for me. My students like that I can buy local and come home with books in the hand the same day and not wait for shipping.

One of the coolest comic shops Ive been in. The staff are knowledgeable and contribute a lot to the store. You can tell that the managers work really hard on keeping the current and coolest things stocked, and making the store really special.Its definitely a hidden gem in this frozen wasteland.

I was just in your store where I was treated very rudely by two of your pretentious little dingbat employees. They seem to be happy that you were going to lose business and they were very happy and giggly when they told me that I could go somewhere else and not come back. This really upset me and after that I was rather rude to them I will be telling everybody not to go to the comic shop because their employees are rude and dont care if they cost the owners money or not.

The Comic Shop title does not do this place justice, they offer so much more! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, will definitely be returning for all my comic and LGS needs.

Everyone loves the Comic Shop especially teenagers lol..I love that they buy all brands and makes of gaming stuffs tho it sometimes dont pay what it should ..Yet sometimes it does guess it just depends on how well liked you are on that particular day...

Everytime I go here with the family we enjoy the experience. My son really loves it here and the staff is so nice and helpful. This is my favorite place to go for anything I would like.

Everyone encountered here is friendly and welcoming from employees to customers. Although not my usual shopping venue, they have everything Id expect a place like this to have and more. Also came across local authors which put their own twist on comics and local conditions!

Their board game prices are usually lower than Barnes & Noble. Awesome selection. I paint a lot of tabletop game miniatures and they almost always have the more popular (lately) Nolzurs Marvelous Primed minis.

I stumbled upon this amazing store. I didn’t expect to find such a large and well organized comic and gaming store in Fairbanks. I stopped in to peruse and was drawn into an engaging conversation with the owner. The store has a good selection of new books and trade paperbacks. However, the back issue selection is limited. The store has an expansive collection of games, figures, merchandise and cards to choose from - a well as a live gaming room. I am so glad that I found this store and will come back the next time I am in Fairbanks.

Lots of great games and comics here! Retro video games, cards (Magic/Pokemon), manga, graphic novels, collectables, Blu Rays, and of course Dungeon and Dragons. The selection is wide and certainly beats buying off Amazon. Lately, nowhere in town has has Magic: The Gathering cards, but The Comic Shop always has tons.From what I can tell, there are options to play tabletop games in a separate room.

Fantastic customer service and selection. From pen and paper and war-games to comics and manga. For Fairbanks, they really kinda have it all. Regular sales keep me coming back. Honestly one of the better stores Ive been to ever since nothing really feels overpriced, a problem Ive had at plenty of places before. Staff are very nice and helpful. Regular events of all kinds for all ages.Worth a look if youre interested in anything they may sell, I guarantee youll come back.

Pretty much sells just about anything hobby or collector wise, from retro game systems and games to up to date comics as well as a great 40K section as well as trading cards from Pokemon to Magic. I am originally from Fairbanks Alaska, but now I live elsewhere and revisit annually. I stopped by this shop for the first time and was pleased to see their wide selection of merchandise. The helpful employees greeted me with smiles and continuously checked to see if I needed assistance. I bought a full set of graphic novels and they graciously said that they could ship it to me. They have a vast area where gamers can spend time playing Warhammer, Magic, Dungeons and Dragons, or anything else to their hearts content. I observed an intense marine combat of Warhammer before I reluctantly left. I will delightfully return next year, guaranteed.

This is a great place to go for a variety of things you might need for specific types of entertainment. They have tons of mainstream comics, old and new (much as the name suggests), but they also have a great selection of independent graphic novels, toys, cards and other goodies to collect. The people working here are always friendly and I look forward to every visit.

This is a cool shop. Like another reviewer, I am 40 and do not dress like their typical customer but think I am a Sheldon cooper in disguise. They have a large selection of comics and rpg items. I wish they carried a larger selection of quality action figures. I prefer collecting the realistic looking figures that sit on a shelf and not the “toy” looking ones. They had a few but I would give a lot more business if they carried more high end figures.

Really great people who are very knowledgeable about their inventory and the games. Also great conversation if you hangout, learned some really interesting things just chatting with them.

This place is fantastic. The staff is so helpful. You can get dear for Pokemon, Magic, D&D, Warhammer, etc. Plus theres plenty of Marvel, DC, Dark horse, and indie comics. You can even go into the play room during events to play all of the above games and others. Ive loved getting fan gear, likes scarves and statues.

My son loves comics, took him there after getting out of the hospital as a reward. He loved it and staff easy very nice and helped us find the old transformer comics.

Kinda the go-to place for anyone in the Fairbanks area. Reasonable prices on all your nerd needs, and very helpful staff. I dont live in the area anymore, but I used to find myself in the Comic Shop almost every weekend. I miss the heck out of this place!

I love this place! So many cool things to check out.

Great selection of comics, a back room where you can play board games or find your local DND or magic groups gathering. Lots of figures, Warhammer, retro video games. While it may be the only place in town like it, the owner can be incredibly rude to customers. Never had a problem with any of the other staff, but the guy who seems to be in charge seems to be constantly grumpy. Must be hell to work for someone like that, his poor employees.

Most the people there are great, but A-aron is rude with the customer service skills of a 8th grade autistic kid who’s only kinda trying to people. 99% of the products there can be purchased from Amazon for way less. And I’d absolutely suggest parents to stick close to their kids at that store as I’ve heard stories of how a member of the staff will talk down to them when trying to get a response from the owner we are ignored and told nothings going to happen

It is more like a gaming store. Yes there are a lot of comics. But more gaming and anima merchandise. Also an area for table gaming.I really enjoyed this store. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

Excellent store! The biggest selection of comics, merchandise, game components, accessories, or anything nerdy north of Wasilla. Employees are very friendly and helpful. They host Magic:The Gathering events and are on the Wizards of the Coast website. Usually pretty busy but there is rarely a line.

Great staff and selection. The usually have nightly events throughout the week and daily and nightly events on the weekends that are well organized and lots of fun. However, the entry costs may be high for some of them if youre not already involved in the games.

Retro video games, from cartridge to console. Role playing games from D&D, Pathfinder, Numenara, Fate and more. Miniatures for fantasy roleplaying or Warhammer. Model paints, washes, and brushes. Comic books from Marvel, DC, Icon, Dark Horse. Manga, anime movies and TV shows. Polyhedral dice sets, board games, replica swords, franchise statues and graphic tees. Imported candies.I have yet to see the Comic Shop of Fairbanks match in any of my travels. They are a community hub, hosting game nights for TCGs, wargaming, and even starting a series of how to paint minis. (Sign up on Facebook) If they dont have it, they probably know where to find it.

I have made pilgrimages to this place for years. Unfortunately I get a dose of politics I dont like whenever I visit anymore. Sell me cards, dont preach socialism, and Ill keep spending my capitalist dollars.

Excellent customer service, I cant recall any negative experiences there. huge selection of memorabilia, at better prices than I see in stores in the Lower 48. The support for local nerd and geek clubs is amazing as well. They host my Super Smash Bros. club during the summer, and its an amazing venue for it.

This store has great selection of books, figures, comics, dice, and DVDs. Its sometimes a little overpriced. However this shop is always a little intimidating, there are lot less socially experienced people there so its sometimes a little awkward. But so far everyone has been nice enough.
