Friendly and great service! Super quick diagnosis and turn around time.
Fairly lackluster customer service, high prices, and low inventory. Usually they don’t have what I need so I have to order online anyways.
My iPhone stopped working so I brought it in and paid them 130$ for a priority diagnosis. They told me that there was a logic board error and there was nothing they could do. I then brought my phone to batteries plus bulbs. They changed out the earpiece speaker and got my phone working again for 40$. A simple google search of my phone’s symptoms told me that it was the earpiece speaker. I would highly recommend taking your devices to batteries plus bulbs instead of these guys.
Amazing service!! Super!
Cool and knowledgeable staff. It took 10 days for a HDD transfer, but I later realized it was because the recipient HDD had a slow read/write speed. ~$140 is steep, but it costs money for quality service.
So...I dont normally do reviews...but the unprofessional crooked business practice that this business perpetrates compelled me to do it. To start with...they were completely polite while trying to rip me off. I am sure that would have changed had I called them out like I wanted to at the time. But since I was not for sure, I decided to wait until their misdeeds were proven. I initially went in with a bit of fair warning from the other negative reviews from here, so I was armed with reasonable intel.I went in because my very important iPad Mini 4 that I use for flying ended up with a fried power port module. I had already verified the issue and had contacted iPad to see if it was a repairable issue. It is a repairable issue according to Apple Service Department. So I took it to IT Works (Apple Authorized Repair) to get it repaired. They told me that it was not repairable and that they could sell me a refurbished unit for $350-$450. Here is where the crooked business practice comes in. I already knew that I could send it in to Apple and get it repaired for $109 (it took exactly one week to get my replacement unit back from Apple). So basically their game is to rip you off of $200-$300 and send it in to Apple for a new one to rip off the next customer. I could understand charging maybe $50 to handle the complicated task of boxing up the old one and calling you when the new one came in and helping you get it set back up to your liking...but the BS they pulled is unacceptable. I hope they go out of business. I am in the process of writing a detailed report of this adventure to send in to Apple Customer Service and the Repair Services Liaison to hopefully get them removed from the Apple Authorized Repair facility list. This is the kind of behavior that is ruining this once great town to live in. You are just as bad as the other criminals and Meth/Heroin addicts that are robbing the good citizens of the FNSB. I would give them ZERO Stars...but that is not an available option
These people are THIEVES and I’ll keep posting horrible reviews until they offer a little customer service. I’ll be more than happy to take this review down once my problem is resolvedRecently purchased a back up hard drive. It was 2tb and costed $150. I went to return the extremely overpriced hard drive and they said there would be at 10% restocking fee and then went on to tell me they wouldn’t take it back because I was one day over the seven day return policy.
These guys are great, they answered all my questions and didn’t pressure me to make a decision on the spot!
Absolutely rude customer service. Never giving me a chance to talk about things always having to correct themselves and never sincerely apologizing. How hard is it to say I’m sorry for the mistake how can I improve or what can I do. Local businesses should feel like family and welcoming instead they treated not only my friends and I awfully and extremely dissatisfied for the products they sell upscaling it by a margin. Please work on you’re attitude and respect for customers!
Take your business elsewhere. Worker upfront was incredibly rude. I walked out and will not return.
The door is locked due to Covid-19. The two children (employees) are sitting behind the counter staring at their phones. When I knock on the door, neither looks up.I call and get the phone tree. Finally one of them answers and I ask if they have a product. The employee tells me they can make them. I ask how long and she tells me they have to order the material from their website and it takes 1-2 weeks.I asked if their website is Amazon.comThis is a store that provides service for people an IQ below 70. Im embarrassed to know that retail stores like this are opened longer than a few months. If you think these kids can do something - I feel sorry for you.
Great guys here! Had a hardware failure on a critical computer and they were able to get us an image of the hard drive the same day and even stayed after hours. Got all the data transferred to a replacement machine. Thanks IT Works!
Being an Apple store, you would think that they would actually carry accessories like chargers, adapters, and Apple-specific products. Apparently, they dont and they also refuse to work on systems over 4 years old. Please start carrying inventory for the common Apple-specific adapters and products.
TLDR; iTWorks is incompetent.Ive been a Mac person my entire life, but a couple years ago, I built my first Windows gaming PC by following a YouTube video. I know just enough about hardware to be dangerous. The PC ran more or less flawlessly until a couple weeks ago, when in the middle of moving into a new house, the PC refused to boot up. I tried power cycling the system about a dozen times, and checked the connections. Nothing worked, so I took it to iTWorks to have it diagnosed, since I was too busy with moving to deal with it any further. The person I spoke with said that they usually deal with laptops, which typically take 3-5 business days to diagnose. With full-on PCs, it could take a bit longer. They charged me $80 up front, and I left the PC with them.Six days later, I got a call from them. They said they had narrowed the problem down to either the video card or the motherboard. They had ordered some kind of diagnostic tool that would zero in on the culprit, and it would be just another day or so before it would be ready to pick up.Four days later, I hadnt gotten any further calls from them, so I called back, and they said theyre still waiting on that part. It should be in today, maybe tomorrow.Three days later, I checked in again, and was given the same status. Dont call us; well call you.A full week later, I ran out of patience and stopped by to pick up the PC, since at this point I had more time to fiddle with it. They brought it out, no questions asked, and said I was good to go. I thought it was rather odd that they let it go without even mentioning that their diagnosis was incomplete. As soon as I left the shop, I got an email saying We are pleased to inform you that your repair is complete and your device is now ready for pickup. Again, odd. When I got it home, the PC was still not working, which I expected. I swapped the video card out for another one, but it didnt help. So I decided to replace the motherboard with a cheap used one from eBay. I found one made by a different manufacturer that looked like it would be comparable. Just to be sure it would work, I checked out the manufacturers website. Scrolling down the page, I noticed that one of the features of this motherboard is a set of 4 LED diagnostic lights that indicate problems with the CPU, RAM, video card, and boot device.Huh. I wondered if my motherboard had the same feature. It did.I powered the computer on, and the LED for the RAM stayed lit.Huh. I hadnt checked the RAM before. I pulled the chips out and rebooted. Same problem. So I put them back in, swapping their positions. It booted up like nothing was ever wrong. So the problem was probably just that the RAM chips became unseated.Shame on you, iTWorks. I didnt know about the existence of the four diagnostic LEDs, but once I did, it took me under a minute to fix the problem. Youre the IT professionals, so you should have known about those lights, since it turns out its a pretty standard feature on motherboards. And then to keep me waiting for three weeks with no resolution in sight! I think I deserve a refund.
I went in yesterday to see if my computer could be looked at and fixed. Bobbie, greeted me with a smile. Looked up specs for me and gave me way more information than I thought I needed, but better be more informed than not. I explained the situation and she brought on Amanda. Amanda was honest with costs of repairs vs a new computer. I so appreciate their honesty and their help. They were able to salvage my hard drive. They were awesome and I appreciate them greatly!
When I was employed here and now after the fact, I have witnessed and experience poor communication from the owner. Either because he doesn’t want to deal with people, or because he’s incompetent, I really couldn’t say at this point. He flirts with female customers and employee that he sees potential in, talks about their looks (to put it nicely) as though they were a product for sale when they aren’t around, and claims that it’s illegal for employees to discuss their pay with one another. He frequently refused to let me leave for my lunch, forcing me to regularly work 9 hour days with absolutely no breaks to eat. Also, I was “encouraged” by the owner as an employee to put a 5 star review on google, but not to sound like an employee when I posted it. Not much of a confidence booster as an employee, or as a potential customer. Eight of the reviews on here are from past/current employees or friends/family of the owner so that he could boost the rating on his business. However; the employees were able to pull data from a hard drive that I was thought was toast, and helped me move it to my new laptop. Always kind and understanding of individuals needs. I would work with any of them in the future.
A local re-seller of Apple products. They can do most repairs for a lot of things, and some things they cant do. I bought a new-in-box laptop from them that fried itself within minutes of me owning it, and at first they had to do diagnostics on it. Ultimately they replaced the machine, which I feel was the right thing to do, and I didnt lose too much time while it got sorted out.A good place to check on getting some of your tech serviced if you dont want to ship it to the L48 for 5-10 business days.
ITWorks did a great job helping me get my phone fixed. It was quite the process communicating my issues with Apple, and iTWorks stepped in and offered great assistance. I would definitely recommend them.
Thank you staff at itWorks! I incorrectly backed up my data. Then my hard drive started to break. They went the extra mile on my behalf!! They showed me such compassion and kindness and were very patient in making sure the retrieved data was correctly transferred. I am very grateful to John, the tech crew and the fine women upfront and highly recommend their services!
Ive been using iTWorks for all my Mac and phone help for years. They always come through with helpful information and I like to support local. They are officially authorized by Apple so even though they are local I know they are doing the right things.
Bad. Dont go. Waste of money and time. I had two attempts, paid check in fee, takes them 3 days to take a look at the phone every time if you dont pay rush/urgent fee. Both iPhones they looked were diagnosed as total damage, need to buy whole new iPhone. So I believed them and got two brand new iPhones. After couple months these two broken phones were on my way so I decide to check them in at some other place and get second opinion before tossing them in trash. Wow, for $100 both are fixed in 24h, no payment for checking them in.
Terrible Repair Service. I brought in my computer for a system update and for a Word install. The techs could not manage to do this simple work within a five day period. The only work the techs would do is if you paid $75 extra for fast service. The store is cold and uninviting with very little product to view.
These people know nothing about the products they sell and the service is horrible. Couldnt get a call back from them to confirm an order for 5 days so i had to stop by to cancel it and they have two employees standing around doing nothing in a store w no customers inside who give me a bunch of excuses. Much easier and faster to deal with someone else. Cant imagine if I actually needed something fixed! Go elsewhere....
Look up Apple repair scams and get an idea of what stores like this/the brand are notorious for. When I was younger and naive, i just believed as they told me and had to spend 3,000 to fix my mac (yes I know, not worth it but it was a gift and i was way against tossing it). A later article outlined the issue -water damage/sensors- is an easy scam point. They just note the sensors were triggered and dont actually look at the hardware. Was my mac actually damaged to the point it needed the full repair? Maybe! But not knowing for sure about this really irks me... the 3g loss was just horrid and to wonder if it was all just to line their pockets.TL;DR- make sure to get a second opinion on any repairs! The Apple is seedy.
Dont waste your time and money with this business. I ordered an iPad mini and paid in full and was told 5 business days for pickup. I called 5 business days later and was told it had not shipped yet. 11 calendar days later I called to see where my order was and I was told 2-3 weeks before Apple would ship it to them. I asked for a refund and I ordered it directly from Apple with free 2 day shipping. I will never shop there again and will advise anyone to do the same.
Aside from these guys being uber busy and taking a while to get to their phones the service was awesome. the job I needed done was quoted at 1-2 business days and they knocked it out in a few hours and I will be able to get my devices back from them today after work. I have gone elsewhere in town to have my phone worked on(screen/battery) and I have had a really negative experience elsewhere. IT works has my business.
Ive purchased several computers, tablets, airPods, and even a watch, I support local small business because they have great customer service and a good turn around on repairs
Went in because my phone had been dropped into a glass of water and would no longer do anything. They were able to recover everything for me and were very friendly even though i was freaking out over losing everything. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
Late on a Saturday evening, just before closing, the staff were super patient with a stuck failing to set-up brand new phone. They got me up and running, with good tips and laughs along the way. Thank you, thank you!
We have been a moderately strong customer for ITWorks and have bought a desktop, laptop, and a couple of IPADs from them as well as having any technical repairs made.Wife brought in an Apple IPAD to get repaired for a crack on the glass. They said they couldnt fix it. My wife then asked to buy a replacement and the clerk gave her a box and charged her card for it. After the gal rang it up, she said Oh, let me clean this up. It was a demo. When we got it home there was no papers, no charging cord. . .nothing. We drove back in and asked for a refund and was charged a 15% restocking fee.Weve always tried to shop for the local stores but were done with this kind of service at ITWorks.
Checked our phone for free and helped with an hdmi adapter for phone n tablet to tv, nice people
Stubborn lack of knowledge/understanding for computer components. I went in to get 12800 1600MHz RAM for my iMac and they tried to tell me the 10600 1333MHz RAM was identical. They just kept running the same girl back and forth to service department because she had zero clue what I was talking about and the service guy (owner) didnt want to talk to me (I actually heard you say that). They even had their own homemade label on the RAM packaging saying it was 12800 when the actual card said 10600. Ill pass on the over priced RAM and speed downgrade thanks...Do they not understand how finicky Apple Computers are when you deviate from recommended hardware???
The technicians at this store do great work, I highly recommend them for any repairs you might need on your iPhone or laptop (they work on Apple and PC)!
Worst repair experience ever. Had my laptop in the store for 10 days now even though the problem was obvious and had been diagnosed by an apple service representative and is covered under an apple program. Consider, having a car repair covered by the manufacturer and they need 5 days to get the car diagnosed and at least another 3 working days to do the repair.
By far the best place in town to get all my Apple peripherals. Staff are very helpful and the owner was willing to answer all my questions.
I got my computer from Itworks back in 2015. In 2018 my computer wasnt turning on and the keys werent working, i got it back from them and all of my top keys which are the F1 F2 ect keys were slowly dying off. I just took my computer in 1 or 2 weeks ago and just got it back today, the screen wasnt turning on but you can hear the computer start up. The bulb in the back was blown out and the F keys still werent working, when i got it back today the keys still dont work and i wasted $700 just to get the bulb and the key board fix which the key board still doesnt work
Only 1 person at a time. Long waits.
Great place with really friendly employees, although it did take 11 business days for my laptop to arrive
I went into the store to purchase an iMac. They had zero computers in stock. Since I had to order it, I asked specifically if it would be better to order it from apple. The young lady told me that it’s better to order from them because she can keep track of it, insuring delivery in 3 to 5 days. That was two and a half weeks ago, today I had a message saying that they expect it in one more week.UPDATEI called in and was pretty upset, the young lady (Bobby, I think) was very patient with me. I realize now that I ordered a customized computer and that it simply takes longer for Apple to produce and ship special orders. Bobby did offer a bit of service for the delay. I feel that they did the best they could under the frustrating circumstances. All together it was not a bad experience, I just get tired of the Alaska delay, plenty of things make it in time for me to know that slow shipping is not really necessary. Now that I have my iMac set up and running, I am very happy and loving it.I would like ITworks to keep better stock and make sure that they dont underestimate shipping time. A lot of this frustration could have been avoided with a simple, three weeks out, quote.
Does not carry the items needed to support the products that they carry, will not work on computers that are older then four years, and their turn around time is sub-par
Brought in a Macbook Pro for repair - super friendly staff, great service! Highly recommend iTworks for anything Apple related :)
Very nice Apple store with a friendly staff that not only offers sales but service as well.
Great people very knowledgeable and reasonably priced especially in Fairbanks
Very knowledgeable and they do not work for commission.
BUYER BEWARE: This business is a scam. Ask about their 15% restocking fee charged on all returns before purchasing a computer here. That means they charge the customer ~$150 just to take a laptop back the same day without even being turned on if you are unsatisfied. In addition to not being very knowledgeable on computer specs, the sales representatives conveniently leave out this detail when you are checking out. They are literally sales robots feeding you rehearsed lines. I know - I used to be a telemarketer. Save your money, time, and frustration by purchasing your mac products online. You will be happy you did. The online store even has free 2-day shipping and student discounts not offered by ITworks in-store.My Experience: I wanted to be a good community member and support a local business. I purchased a MacBook pro from ITworks. After getting to my office I realized it had none of the ports necessary to function in my everyday life. I was using a friend’s MacBook pro for the week prior to try it out and wanted to get my own. However, I didn’t realize all of the USB and other ports had been removed in the last year on the new version. I called the store back and wanted to return the computer. I didn’t think this would be a problem since the computer I purchased was from a return and the box was already opened prior to purchase. They said they were unable to take the computer back the same day without charging me $150 only 3 hours after I bought the computer. I was not informed about the return policy prior to making the purchase. Again, I bought a returned computer so it didn’t’ cross my mind that there would be any issues returning it if I was unhappy. When I called and finally talked to the manager, John, to work this out there was no customer appreciation at all. He said, “First of all, we are a for-profit business. Our return policy is clearly printed on our receipt.” I brought up the obvious point that once a receipt is printed it is already too late for the customer. That didn’t concern him and he was unwilling to budge or make any reasonable offer. Not only did he not budge, he blatantly told me that they are only charged 2.7% on all credit card purchases so the “restocking fee” is not just for covering overhead. They are trying to turn a profit on not selling a computer. In addition to not standing by their product, they make the customer feel like a burden and that any time they spend on you needs to be compensated in $$. Never again.
Very knowledgeable and helpful though pricey
Can I give zero stars. Mac house has the worst customer service in Fairbanks! If you can avoid it do not give a single dollar to this place or Mac.
Sales person assured me they could fix my phone charged me $55 called me 2 weeks later. Didnt fix my phone refused to give me a refund.
Can they fix iCloud locked phones
The employees have no experience with computers.
