Such an awesome selection of local and no local beers and spirits. Maybe my favorite store in Fairbanks!

Just outside Fairbanks, this convenience store is a small gem on the Parks Highway. For those of us that haul our own fuel oil, they have #1 heating oil and its competitively priced. Better yet, they offer a 10 cent discount if you pay cash. You can end up saving a decent amount of cash doing it that way. The same applies to their gas and diesel as well. Theres also a little food and coffee joint next to it, just another way to make it a one-stop shop. Inside they have a liquor store with what seemed to be a decent selection. I just use this place for the heating oil because its the best price in all of Fairbanks. If need small items like snacks or beer, its good for that too. Check it out.

A longtime fixture (with the obligatory sagging floor) a little outside of West Fairbanks on the Parks, Gold Hill is a great stop for some essentials. Its probably the most convenient place on its side of town to buy fuel oil; gas prices are reasonable too. The grocery/snacks/convenience side is nothing to write home about. The liquor section, mixed feelings. On the one hand, theres a pretty good selection with some higher-end items. On the other hand, its expensive even for Fairbanks, unless you are picking up items on sale. And it closes relatively early. But ... in Fairbanks ... any liquor store is way better than no liquor store.

I have been a customer of Gold HIll for over 20 years. Ive seen it transform from offering a minimal amount of service to its now burgeoning store full of unique and essential items. Their services and charity offered to the local area have defined them as a center of the Ester community.You would not believe the number and variety of beers and wines unless you stop in and witness it for yourself. Often times, they are the first or the only to offer new varieties of Alaskan beers and wines and other beverages - numbering in the thousands!The best part of Gold Hill is the owners and employees level of customer service. They are always willing to help in any way they can - friendly and courteous and happy to share information.I forgot to mention the main reason I go there... they have the least priced fuel in the Fairbanks area!

FWIIW, I shopped at this fine institution over 45 years ago. If it has held up over the years, it is still worth 5 stars.

I dont get out there that often but when I do its always a pleasure to stop in. They always have what ya need and competitive gas to boot
