My second visit to this store! Alaska was warmer than expected so I needed to find a pair of shorts & a cooler top! Less expensive & good quality was found! Its a big store with everything in order, marked, sized and plenty to choose from. I came out with 2 pairs of shorts and two nice tops!

I usually adore this store, and have been a regular customer to multiple locations. Let me add that I’ve never had a bad experience until now. So last week I was going in shopping for clothes, and I’m still recovering from having a baby so I’m still unsure exactly what size I am. I asked about their dressing rooms which are closed due to covid. Completely understandable, they let me know that they were still excepting returns, so it would be no problem if they didn’t fit. Yesterday I went in to try and return the ones that did not fit. They said I could NOT in fact return the items, they must be exchanged for something else. I would have had absolutely no problem with that if they would have said that when I was purchasing the items. I understand they may call it a return out of habit but its frustrating. I also asked if it could be put on my acct as store credit also no. They were getting busy and the woman that was helping me was not helping customers that were starting to line up, so I assumed we could just knock this out and go on about our day. She tells me rudely that I have to wait and picks up the phone before making a phone call that lasted awhile. I had exchanges picked out already so I went to a different register, they seemed confused and made it seem like it was going to take forever they didn’t even get started either time. I said it’s completely fine as well people lining up behind me and I don’t wanna stop you guys up so if you could just put those clothes that I picked out on hold and I’ll come back first thing tomorrow. I came back today and the exchanges couldn’t be found and they said they must’ve been put back by accident. I said that’s fine but I’m on my lunch break and I only have two days to return this stuff and this is already my second trip in here, so the manager Amber was very nice and extended my return date which was very helpful. I’m still frustrated because I wasn’t given correct information the very first time I asked resulting in a bunch of wasted time and I still have to go back at some point to hopefully get rid of the clothing for good. Rant over.I’m a single mom, I work my fricken butt off and quite frankly I just don’t have a whole lot of money to be wasting on clothes I don’t want. I bought more than I needed, expecting to recover from some of it because I knew there would be some stuff that wouldnt fit. I bought all the clothes I needed already. I don’t want more clothes to replace them. I want my hard earned money back. Point blank end of discussion. I would not have bought so much if I would have known it was an exchange policy not return.

Love this place! Awesome finds, low in furniture. I dislike that there are no dressing rooms but I was told it was due to people stealing. If something doesnt fit you can exchange clothes and shoes, no hassle! MOST cashiers are nice, only met one of them that wont even look at me but thats okay.

Not only are their prices ridiculous today sales clerk was way out of bounds when she asked me if I had a different form of payment because I pull the money out of my bra which end my defense it wasnt up against my skin but in between my bra and my sports bra. The nerve of some people. She was acting as if money itself isnt dirty. This employee was way out of bounds.

For a place that gets donated items they ask new and sometimes more than new prices for so much of their used items. I worked in clothing retail and know prices. A Walmart garanimals pair of pants shouldnt cost $9 at a thrift store when they are $4.88 to $8.88 at Walmart new. I do like their rewards program. I like the different color tag sales each day. Their books, houseware, electronics, and toys are housewares, fair prices. It just seems clothing and shoes that they way over price.

As for prices, you can find good deals but watch out. Prices are high to begin with for secondhand donated items. I do like to buy secondhand though to help with the environment. With the understanding that dressing rooms are not available during the pandemic, You would think they would forego their company policy and modify it for these trying times to allow returns for refund. Especially when you spend $35 for a pair of used jeans. This policy is unacceptable for exchange only in a pandemic when you have to go home to try something on.

They allow you to take it home and then bring it back πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ but they wont even refund you if you choose that! You get a gift card. Because all of that makes so much sense. And you are still paying $10-$15 for a used pair of pants.

The employee at the register and the employee standing next to him decided to complain about her payment method. Bring them to Salvation Army, The Door or the Womens shelter.

I have shopped at Value Village for over 30 yrs, and I was excited they had reopened my local location and went in. Plastered on the doors (4 signs total) was an announcement saying Health Officials Require ALL who enter to wear a mask and observe Social Distancing which I appreciate. There was a woman at the door who worked there as people go in, but as unmasked customers came in (I saw 14) she stayed silent. I asked the cashier why post signs if it didnt matter and was told it was just something they put up to reopen but it wasnt enforced by them. It says alot that they blatantly admit to doing anything to open but dont care enough to follow thru once they did. Ill shop elsewhere and am frankly disappointed this is how the only location near me is doing business.
