Solid Dining Facility, very clean and decent selection of food. Liked the the setup. Food was subpar but fresh. Worst chili I’ve ever had period. Salad bar had cheese cubes instead of shredded cheese. They only had blue cheese and Italian dressing. Had spaghetti and meatballs, wasn’t bad but meat was spongy.
Honestly 50/50. Sometimes the food shocks you with how amazing it is. But in general its rather disappointing.
Decent food. Staff friendly. Plenty to eat
Breakfast and some lunch meals are honestly the only things worth getting depending on your taste
Good dfac
Hit or miss. Some days soldiers are great and some days soldiers are dead inside
This Dfac isnt to bad. Ive been to way worse.
Spent forty five minutes in line for dinner, got to the front and they ran out of certain food options. Whats the point of a dfac if I can make my own food faster and cheaper?
Not uncommon to have a completely inedible meal. Atleast they have ice sculptures
Thanksgiving meal was AMAZING. The cooks really try and make a great meal.
Food is generally good to go.
Cool place. Friendly prices
No complaints here, best meal in town for the price. Was a taco Tuesday, went with the chicken fajita which was prepared perfectly. The salad bar is fresh and fully stocked. Plenty of drinks to choose from. Did I tell you it cost $5.60 for lunch? Hands down the best deal on base for lunch. Did I tell you the price? Great dining experience, ton of TVs playing sports. Only thing missing is a tap of beers to choose from.... did I mention the price? I have eaten at the post hospital which use to be a good deal but their product has gone way down hill. The bees knew is the Soldier defac.
Its a hit or miss sometimes its good sometimes its bad and sometimes its good.
I asked for sour cream for the taco bar, they put out diced: tomatoes, onions, chives, and sour cream.I asked about having cut up chicken for a chicken salad, I have seen it available multiple time in the short order line.Ask a cook about and attend their DEFAC meetings.
It was bomb for dfac
Amazing one price all you can eat. Nice seating. TVs and good lighting. Nice staff
Small changes making the the facility a bit more desirable to eat at. There are days when things are just wow this is really good. Most days though food is lightly seasoned or none at all.
Not half bad. The food is decent, but the choice is limited. During the opening rush the lines can be rather long, but they try to speed up the process.
Its really not that bad
Closer to my barracks. Foods ok though.
Cheap and adequate. They have some good options. This is an Army DFAC
Bad service, always lacking food or drinks, bad food safety, unhealthy, some food taste like last months leftovers, bad portions unless u have high rank
Napoleon once said An army marches on its stomach. If thats the case, 1/25 SBCT isnt going anywhere. The food is mediocre, the services sucks and the hours are limited especially on the weekends.Breakfast is good. No complaints about it, in fact it is actually pretty good. Lunch is hit or miss but dinner sucks most of the time. Ive never been to a dfac that runs out of supplies more than this one. Drink machines are almost always out of multiple beverages, coffee is never available and its not uncommon for them to be out of food on one entire side. Of course, this normally only happens at dinner when soldiers not getting BAS are the only ones eating there. The service is what really makes this a crappy place to eat. There can be a super long line and yet there is no sense of hurry from the cooks. Most E-4s, but not all, seem to think its beneath them to help serve food and prefer to just stand and supervise everybody else.Hours are also an issue at the Dfac. Nobody wants to go to dinner at 1600 on the weekend.
Great food great service
Same food every day, they have decent food and some TVs so not too much to complain about
Pancakes are as hard as Frisbys bro.. Always seem to disappoint.. Basic Training food was better than this
Overall well service and food for the price
Absolutely hands down one of the Worst DFACS in the Army. The Service is terrible and lazy. They spend more money on renovating the interior than actually making the food better. This is the only DFAC on FT Wainwright thats open and its food is repulsive and raw in most cases. Your better off buying your own groceries then eating the food served here.
Its decent.. some pretty cool workers
Scenery is good, the lunch and dinner sucks most of the time food does not taste the best and the hours and bad.
The place is improvingIm starting to like it again
I thought the food was pretty decent.
Needs better section, food/ meat temperature and seasoning
Compared to other dfacs it could be better
The Defac just what every soldier wants. Long lines fuzzies working the grill taking longer than i have just to prepare my food. Although i will admit breakfast at the Defac is on point. For the most part its alright just a place to eat and watch the debates or football, have a couple laughs with your battle buddies. Not my first choice but if your cutting it close on time its not a bad place to eat. Keep up the good work guys
The food is alright, but my battle buddy claims to have been given food poisoning from this defac. This is my main source of food all I can really afford as a soldier here on fort wainwright, it saddens me though the portions are always too small.
The food is for the most part terrible. They should just close the DFAC down. Horrible food, service, and lines. Also the selection is minimal and unhealthy.
Great fresh salad bar, main line is hit and miss. Best bfast deal in town.
This place is trash if youre gonna force me to pay for food atleast put some effort into it why cant this place function like a school cafeteria or a normal restraunt you litterally get a steady money flow this place destroys morale, also how hard is it to keep the blue powerade in supply?
Great place to have food when training hard. I say Hooah
The food is average at best. Needs a better selection of food.
Had two good meals a year. Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Hey man its the army chow hall for the price you cant beat it the only place that even comes close is the cafeteria at Fairbanks memorial hospital.
It is the worst food in Fairbanks. Do not waste your time go to burger king
Food is marginal quality.. prortions are tiny and most days the is very few choices.
Go there and youll see why
The food is not terrible but what is terrible is when the dfac is open for 25 minutes and already have ran out of food...this is what I pay for
This place is so trash, myself and my section mates are now referring to anything that is terrible, disgusting, trash, ECT. As DFAC.
Good service and dinning ambien
Not the best DFAC, Army quality food
Never really fills up up
Long lines, slow service. Typical Dfac
Its a hit or miss, it can be potatoes that are uncooked with to much seasoning or stuffed peppers that are okay. No in between.
This is the worst ive ever seen from facility to soldiers service.
Its all Reilys fault they no have boiled eggs.
Not bad service...
Great Food.
The French toast for breakfast..yumm!
Food is subpar :(
Not to best, but not to bad
