Incredible service from this Alaska shop.... Had fallend in love with their Gnome kit; thought the beard would be a great thread painting project... also found a couple of panels... Northern Lights and Owl that I will do this winter... The entire order came SUPER fast via ordinary mail. This Gnome is a great hit...Hanging here as part of Christmas/ Winter Decor..

Northern Threads is my favorite quilt shop in Fairbanks. They have an amazing selection of quilt kits, row by row kits, and nice Alaskan fabrics. I highly recommend this place. My husband and I come here often.

I found them because I bought a sewing machine at a garage sale. It had a couple minor problems the tech guy here fixed for next to nothing and in a single day.I keep coming back because they have the most beautiful displays of hanging quilts they sell as kits! Very cool.The drive entrance is a little bit narrow right now because of snow, but the lot is spacious and has been well kept every time I have visited. Handicap access and parking, nice place to visit, wear your masks.

I love the fabrics I have purchased from Northern Threads. I love the variety of color, prints & quality, all of which are very consistent with the photos on line. At the moment I’m making sets of place mats as gifts. The cotton fabrics are such good quality that they are easy to sew and quilt on. They also wash well & the colors stay true & bright. They also come quickly and once I had a problem which was solved quickly with a phone call.

I have only had really good experiences with Northern Threads. I have taken a class through them,. The teacher was informative & the room where the class was taught was clean & well lit. They have a great fabric, pattern & thread selection. I have found unique prints and unexpected sales on wonderful products. I have also bought a used embroidery/sewing machine through them. Their tech/repair guy is helpful and informative and also had stock on a cable that I needed for my machine that I couldn’t find in stock online.

I have order from them several time and have been very happy with every purchase! I love their patterns so unique and beautiful. Their fabric selection is amazing! Wonderful shop with fantastic people!! Shipments have always arrived right on time! I have never had a problem.

I was pleased with my order. It came fairly quickly and was exactly what I wanted. My biggest problem with this store is that I want all the patterns! They have such great nature designs that it is difficult to pick just one. I would definitely order from them again.

Warm and friendly place to do business with.. The staff greets you at the door and asks if they can help. I have had several quilts done there with the upmost satisfaction including one just before Christmas. They told me I wouldnt get it finished before Christmas but just a day before I received a call telling me I could come and pick it up. That made my Grandson a perfect Christmas. Thank you

One of my favorite fabric stores! I am sad it is so far away from where I live so I have to use online store. If you want northwoods or wildlife, this is the place. Great selection of fabrics and kits and great service. And they have some unique items. I have ordered multiple times and shipments have been accurate and timely every time.

I have never been to Northern Threads, but I have shopped online at their store. I always get excellent help when needed. Their online shop is very user friendly and easy to navigate. The staff have always responded to any questions I have within hours when emailed. Shipping is quick and fabric is awesome :).

Northern Threads carries a wonderful array of machine embroidery designs, plus fabrics, panels, pre-cuts, notions and other sewing/quilting/embroidering supplies. Their sales are wonderful, and their customer service is even better. Their staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and they bend over backwards to get problems fixed quickly. This is a SUPERB shop!

I bought a great new sewing machine (which they help me with by giving me tips) at Northern Threads. They also have a great selection of fabrics and all the necessary accessories, etc. During Covid-19, they are offering free Zoom sewing classes (with the recording so you can go back for details) which I have really enjoyed. They have really been accommodating their customers during this really tough time. Kudos to Northern Threads!

I have only used Northern Threads for longarm quilting, via the mail. Their turnaround time is so quick and the quilts come back beautiful!!! I am excited to get projects done just so I can send them off. This is on my bucket list of places to visit.

I was collecting Quilters Trek kits and was looking through all the different options state by state. When I saw the one for Northern Threads it took my breath away and I just Had to have it. Havent put it together yet, but I will. Delivery was quick.

For the past several years, I participated in the Row x Row Experience and love how Northern Threads patterns are designed and pieced. I had the chance to visit the store on a cruise last year and couldnt help but fall in love with their fabric. In previous years a RxR participant had to visit store for the annual pattern but with 2020, we were able to order online. Yay!!! With a quick address correction, I received my pattern and some fabric in no time. Thank you for the wonderful fabric and pattern.

I ordered a handmade pin cushion from Northern Threads and it is wonderful--unique. The service was prompt. I also took an informative virtual class from them that explained making appliqued faces. I left the class with much inspiration.

This is probably my favorite quilt store. I found it during Row by Row several years ago. Their quilt kits and their fabric are amazing. My husband and I had a trip planned this summer to Alaska and I was so looking forward to going there personally. Their service/shipping are terrific. I have called the store a couple of times and they are always helpful.

I was part of a Quail Quilt A-Long that lasted several months where I invested many, many hours in the making of my quilt. I didn’t want to leave the quilting to just anyone; I’d heard good things about Northern Threads and they did not disappoint! My quail quilt is absolutely beautiful. They called to ask if I wanted a certain batting and another time to double check my thread choice. The turn around time from mailing it to them and arriving back at my home was less than ten days! The price was extremely reasonable & fair as well. Just amazing. Their web site is so easy to to maneuver thru and they have so many design & thread choices that there’s something for everybody. Staff squeezed me in, upon request picked the thread color - perfect, bound it and express mailed it back to me all in less than a week. The work was exquisite! I had been looking for some difficult to find sewing accessories. I found Northern Threads Inc. through a Google search. Their website is easy to use and I submitted an order that very day. The next day I received a phone call explaining that they were out of stock on one item and worked with me directly on other items. They were very friendly and helpful. Shipping was that same day as well and I received my order very quickly. I would definitely shop here again!

My mother loves this company. The quality of the fabrics is high while the prices are comparatively low. I bought a gift certificate from the website as my mom and I dont live in Fairbanks, AK. The process of buying a gift certificate was a little cumbersome but it got the job done.

I purchased the Wolf Abstractions Foundation Paper Piecing kit which included the pattern and fabric. I absolutely love it! It arrived fairly quickly and the fabric is great quality. The only drawback is I ran out of fabric in one of the colors with only two pattern pieces left so be very careful about how you cut out your pieces. Other than that I had a great experience and I would certainly buy from them again!

I ordered a small art quilt project from the selection of kits offered. I had planned to visit in person in August while vacationing. Since plans cancelled, I wanted to still support this local quilt shop. Purchased online and prompt shipping. Project now completed. Plan to visit in person next year.

Northern Threads offers a variety of quilts and rows representing Alaska. The rows are carefully curated and usually include some pieces ready to be pressed into place. Im most impressed by the speed with which they get products to me in Pennsylvania from Alaska. I often wait longer for products from other east coast states. I recommend this shop.

I had a really good experience at Northern Threads. I brought in a quilt my aunt had made me over 10 years ago. After moving multiple times it had suffered some serious wear and tear such as holes in one side, and a long rip on another side. I went in and they brain stormed with me how to fix it. I purchased less then a yard of fabric for binding, and then they cut 2” off all sides and rebinded the quilt. It was done the next day! I was very impressed by their work and speed of completing this project. Thank you again for giving new life to my quilt.

I have yet to be in a Quilt Store that even comes close to comparing with Northern Threads. The store is beautiful a Quilter’s paradise. The Staff is friendly and helpful too. If you haven’t been there yet I highly recommend you check it out for yourself.

I went to Northern Threads in Fairbanks when my husband and and I were in Alaska. I was fascinated by the store. There were so many choices for notions, fabrics and quilting goodies. The selection of patterns made me wish we had a quilt shop like that in Ohio. There were so many things I wanted but I still had ten days of my trip to go. We came with full suitcases. I ended up buying a small fraction of what I wanted. When I got home I regretted not buying several patterns to go with the northern lights fabric and Alaska kit I bought. Imagine my surprise when I saw the most wonderful quilt made from the pattern I didn’t buy. I searched online and found exactly what I wanted. I ordered the pattern at the beginning of the week and had it on my hands by Friday! What a surprise. I expected that it would take much longer. Northern Threads has great fabrics but the original patterns are the gems of this shop. I highly recommend shopping there, both at the shop in College and online.

I’ve had 3 quilts quilted by Northern Threads, and I am so happy with the results! The turnaround is so fast, and they have a huge selection of patterns from which to choose. I especially appreciate the binding services offered. To receive my quilt totally completed is so exciting!

I have enjoyed the sewing arts for more than 50 years. We have lived in Fairbanks for the past 34 years. Throughout that time I have enjoyed and benefited from my relationship with Northern Threads. I have purchased multiple sewing machines, a serger, a long arm quilting machine and a 10 thread embroidery machine from Marie. The staff has always been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. There is an extensive selection of quality fabrics, sewing notions, quilting kits and laser cut patterns designed by Marie. I am content and grateful that all of my sewing needs can be met at Northern Threads. it is my happy place.

If I could give more stars I would! EVERYTHING was great from start to finish. Website was very easy to navigate and order. I was surprised at the email saying my order was being processed within hours of making it (I am in ME and they are in Alaska!). It must have been shipped immediately because it was at my house before I knew it.The quality of these bags is top notch! I use one for my knitting notions and have received many request for the name of the company. The bigger bag I am using for my sewing notions and so easy to travel with and so pretty! lots of compliments there too. I will absolutely be a repeat customer.

Have just ordered more patterns in the other two adult sizes...plus the Friday Kuspak pattern....thats how pleased I am with Northern Threads products. I have loved this quilt shop for years from afar. I was so excited that we were moving to Fairbanks and would actually be near it. I have made many unique quilts from this shop. When I need help they are always available. I love the selection of fabric available.

Northern thread was able to supply me with elastic at the time everyone was making masks. They were friendly, courteous and available to answer any questions that I might have.

The staff is wonderful here! I really enjoyed looking at (and purchasing) many of the patterns they stock. I also picked up a pattern for a parka and some trim to go with it. I cant wait to purchase more from them in the future
