Fun afternoon! The staff are very friendly and helpful…..patient instructions! I appreciated the covered area. Lots of options in the sun or shade. I put my gold in to a clear locket with a gold rope rim. Adorable! Makes a great reminder of our week in Alaska.

A fun way to spend a couple hours panning for gold. The price of admission gets you a bag with varying amounts of gold - $20 for the basic bag that will have some flakes up to $1000 that will have a small (maybe 1/2 ounce) nugget with several options in between.There is also a large pile that you can pan from and also use for practice.The staff are friendly and take time to explain the process and are quick to offer help if you need it. Some of the panning troughs are shaded. A few relics of the gold mining days dot the property.

Gold daughter/bone yard panning for gold!Ok this was so much fun, not only did we find and get to keep our gold we got a whole lesson on the bone yard where some of the largest mammoth bones and tusks have been discovered, you literally get to touch a piece of history from the ice age! The chuck of gold pictures is worth over 40 thousand itself. The staff is very nice and this is another great family experience.

This place is absolutely amazing! Every single one of the ladies was helpful and friendly! We all found gold in the huge pile and the bags that they give you had SIGNIFICANTLY more gold than the one we did in Girdwood! We hope these ladies have years of success in their business. Super cool experience. You get to actually pan for Alaskan gold, and keep what you find. The staff was amazing. Very helpful and even took time to help us extra as we had little kids with us. Would definitely recommend for a unique, and unforgettable experience.

We have fun there every year. You never know what you will find in the tailings pile. We often double what we get from our pre-seeded poke (you purchase to enter). The fun and the rocks (with help from our guides) make every experience a great one.

If you’re looking for a true Alaska experience you’ve got to visit Gold Daughters! We went when we were on vacation in Fairbanks in June. They showed us how to pan and recover gold from a large pile of pay dirt. Once we practiced our panning skills on the dirt pile, we then washed our $20.00 poke bag of pay dirt that we purchased in the store. We got quite a bit of gold out of the pile and added it to the substantial amount from our pokes! What a thrill it was to find gold! We had the gold put into a locket which is my absolute favorite souvenir from Alaska along with all of the wonderful memories we made! Put Gold Daughters on your Alaska bucket list! You won’t be sorry! Great adventure, great folks to deal with!

This was such a fun experience for my family! From the grandparents all the way down to the youngest kids, we all had a blast panning for gold! My daughters, parents and I were SO IMPRESSED with the entire staff and experience. We were greeted by the two Gold Daughters (owners) Jordan and Ilaura, told how the process worked and when we went to the gold panning area we were met by several key staff members that taught us how to pan for gold. In fact throughout our stay each staff member came to check on our progress and answer questions. My entire family felt it was a highlight to the trip, we highly recommend anyone wanting the gold panning experience to stop in! (The gift shop is top notch- lots of fun items to take back home!)

Many years before you could get rich with cleaning (scrarping out) old sluice boxes you still can find everywhere. I tried some without any effect. So I (we) took the chance to get some gold here. Very touristic but we liked. Got some but need much more practise. Did not earn the entrance fee back. Try, I wish you success

This is the best thing to do in Alaska! Never hesitate to visit this place if you are with children. I went with my three children. They as well as my wife and I really enjoyed panning gold. Staff members were extremely kind and helpful. Especially Lisa was exceptional. She showed us how to pan gold with smile although we couldnt follow it and asked the demonstrations several times. Also, they never give us any emotional burdens to buy the products which can be made by gold you panned. I highly recommend this place.

Great family experience! Ms. Lisa taught us how to pan for gold and she was awesome! Kids got to run around grabbing pay dirt. They give you a guaranteed gold bag which we found a good amount of gold flakes. We also found some in the pay dirt that you have unlimited access. Thats for the adventure!

First of all, take extra cloths, you might get wet:) I took my daughters to this gold panning facility. They had great experience. We were 4 including a 1.5 yo toddler girl. I didnt want to pan myself, but I didnt mind to get 3 bags of dirt, kids loved to do extra more gold densed dirt for panning :) We were taught how to pan and adviced first to practise with free dirt, which is a huge pile. The stuff was very attentive and kind. One of my daughters was less successful and seemed to lose interest, and thanks to one of the stuff members, she regained her confidence and managed to find enough golden flakes and even a nugget for her new gold locket and necklace. We spent 2 hours there, the time passed quickly . One of the girls, could hardly leave, she would stay much longer. Overall we had positive experience. Thank you!

The ladies here were very helpful and friendly. The experience was super fun, and they were ready to lend a helping hand should I be absolutely lost on how to find the gold. They have various pricing options based on the likelihood of how much gold is in your “bag of dirt”. I went for a smaller bag and wasn’t disappointed, but I know my husband would love to try for a bigger one and feel like a real gold miner.

This was our very first planned stop upon arriving in Fairbanks, based on the consistently high reviews and praise. Our group of 5 was made up of (2) 74 year old grandparents, (2) 48 year old parents, and (1) 13 year old son - so pretty broad age range. None of us had panned for gold before, and only 2 of our group really were excited to actually pan for gold; but everyone agreed it would be good for the grandson.Well, 15 minutes in to the experience all 5 were just LOVING this place. We were greeted by the wonderful Veronica; then received choice training by knowledgeable, personable and fun Cassi and Lisa. Within 30 minutes everyone in the group had found gold flakes from the free piles of tailings on the property; and later we all found much more in our individual bags of dirt and rock we received upon entry.We spent a few hours and ended up having friendly chats with all the bright young ladies, making the experience all the better. At the end we got to meet Jordan Reeves, one of the two sisters who founded this place, and she personally separated / cleaned / dried our gold, putting the flakes into a gold pendant keychain keepsake that our son will love forever.Without question this will be a highlight of our trip; and we all said we would want to do it again the very next time we are lucky enough to travel to Fairbanks. This is the best place to go if you want to learn how to pan for gold without spending a fortune and stressing out about losing gold or not panning right.You buy a bag with guaranteed gold in it but before you pan that you can pan the dirt off the pile all you want until you are comfortable to pan your bag of dirt.The pile has quite a bit of gold in it too so you really know if you are doing it rightI recommend this place to everyone who is interested in gold prospecting or just want to have some fun getting a little dirt on you

My adult kids and I had so much fun here. Loved panning on the practice dirt piles. Found a nice garnet in the first pan and fine flour gold. The bag of pay dirt had many flakes of gold and garnets. Helpful staff provide instructions on panning and assistance if needed. When we finished they dried the gold and put it in a vial with the garnets. Good fun for kids of all ages including my adult kids.

Best part of our trip!! The staff was super nice and helpful. We ended up spending 4 hours panning for gold out of the pay dirt pile. So very satisfying to find those sparkly specks all on your own! We will definitely go back if we ever make it back to Alaska.

Stopped by today for about 2.5 hours and had a GREAT time! Awesome gift shop and for 20 dollars you can pan all day! They offer other bags that have a better chance of nuggets and such. I got some really decent flakes from the dirt pile and a huge(huge to me lol) nugget from one of the upgrade bags. I 100 percent recommend taking a day to go. Do not pass this one up. The panning demo was perfect and the staff was amazing, super helpful, and a pleasure to talk to. I will be going back a few more times while I am in Alaska. Ive got Gold fever!

Great fun for all. The ladies who own and operate Gold Daughters are awesome. Lisa and Zoey were super helpful ensuring we find as much gold as possible. Once you pay the $20 admission, you can pan as long as they are open (10-6 generally). Theres a large mound of dirt that you continually shovel it into your pan (provided) and keep searching. We found enough to make beautiful gold earrings for my daughter that same day. Again, very polite, helpful ladies. My 3 kids had a blast!!!

Ive always wanted to try gold panning and we decided to stop here for the first time. We were greeted by friendly staff the moment we walked in and they answered all our questions about the process. Since it was already late in the day, we decided to come back the following day when they opened.The following morning, we returned, grabbed our bags, and went to it. They have staff on hand to give you an initial quick training demonstration, then let you pan for as long as you want. We could have stayed all day, it was so much fun! The staff walks around to check and see if you need any help while you are panning, which we were very thankful for. After the first few trips to the pay dirt pile, I was able to find gold all on my own.Once we were done for the day, we were able to put our gold nuggets and flakes into a very nice necklace. This will be added to our must do list every time we are in Fairbanks.

This is a family owned gold panning operation. When we arrived, they welcomed us like we were family. We had ongoing tell and instruction during our experience, and we found gold! My husband and boys particularly enjoyed digging in the large dirt pile and then sorting through that gold. If you are in Fairbanks, I would highly recommend visiting Gold Daughters.

Spending time panning with Gold Daughters was one of my favorite experiences in Alaska. I liked that I could spend as much time there as I wanted panning the pile of dirt as well as my bag I purchased. The ladies were wonderful explaining the process over and over as new panners arrived. It is also across the road from the pipeline viewing area. When I return to Alaska, this will be on my list! Loved it!!!

We had a blast- way better than the other gold planning place - friendly and helpful staff who weren’t tying to up grade - no pressure and a great deal for $20 we spent all day panning. We found gold and gems ( one of the employees bought a large one from my son) my son even found a 40,000 + year old fossil bone! We had fun getting wet and dirty and can’t wait to do it again!

What an awesome place... you expect a tourist trap with places like this... but you couldnt be more wrong! Took some friends who were visiting and had so much fun it has become our date spot for the wife and I! No pressure, lots of help to get your technique right and make sure you ask about the fossils!

My husband and I decided to stop by here on a free day we had in Fairbanks. I wanted to try goldpanning but didnt think it would be anything spectacular... But man, gold fever is real! We had such a great time, and the ladies that were there explaining everything and teaching us what to do were wonderful. I loved that they let you pan for as long as you want from the piles of dirt that they bring in from the river - you never know what youll find. The guaranteed bag was nice too. We also appreciated that they really want you to practice panning before doing your guaranteed bag, so you know what youre doing beforehand and dont miss out on your gold!Overall, excellent experience. We had a great time and will definitely go back next time we go to Fairbanks!!

The staff was helpful and encouraging. Your entrance fee comes with a bag that is guaranteed to have gold in it and there are dirt piles that you can try your luck on. We liked the fact that part of the panning area is open but has a roof and the other part is isnt. Nice to have a choice depending on the weather.

Not certain but the material you are panning has been recycled from the troughs because I found something in the “unsearched “ material that was buried deep. It was one of the older containers they give you to put your gold in. Just disappointing.

Gold Daughters was the 5th panning experience for my son (age 8) and I in our 10-day trip to Alaska in August of 2016, and the absolute best. The staff was accommodating, more than helpful and very upbeat. They were super knowledgeable and have a great operation. I even bought an expensive bag of pre-loaded pay dirt, and wound up with a nugget worth 4x the cost of the bag (verified in NY). We had a great time digging through the dirt, panning, collecting etc. I think we spent about 3-4 hour there in total (and consumed 2 cupcakes at least). Highly recommend!

You can’t pass up a sign that says “Paydirt and Cupcakes” without stopping in and seeing what’s going on. Our quick stop to check it out turned into an enjoyable day panning for gold. For only $5.00 a person, a super deal in Alaska, you can spend all day panning for gold in dirt brought in from two different gold claims. They supply the pans, shovels, panning troughs with seats, gold vials for your finds, and friendly helpful tips and lessons on panning. We also bought one of their bags of paydirt and found a beautiful nugget inside! The two sisters that run the place were lots of fun to talk to and are genuinely excited when people learning to pan are able to find gold. This is a great place to stop for a couple of hours or all day.

Somehow we missed out on the great experience everyone else mentioned!! There was little help or guidance once we purchased our bags ($20 pp), and we were left pretty much on our own. Kids (10, 12 & 14)left feeling like it was a waste of time and was boring and I left feeling like it was a waste of money. Also, not very family-friendly at all. My husband was NOT allowed to come in and watch the kids and take pictures. In order to enter you MUST purchase a bag of dirt..... he simply wanted to watch the kids sorting through their bags of dirt. We had already spent $80, and by not allowing in another family member to Simply watch, I thought was an extremely poor business practice.

We took 4 generations there to try our luck. We found a considerable amount in their bags of paydirt and tailings. The gals there were very helpful and showed us how to use the pans, and kept coming back again and again to help us. And 1 of the boys also found a fossil in the tailings. Highly recommend this business
