I had been going to the H&S in Chantilly (recommend that one too!) but moved so I tried the Fairfax one. Just like in Chantilly they immediately found that was wrong with my car (cupped tire and bad spark plugs). They knew right away what was wrong with my car and did a diagnostic. I love this place because they sit down with you and explain what is wrong and how the suggested services will solve the issue. I never feel uncomfortable and consider whether or not I am being taken advantage of like at many other car service stations. My family has started going here as well and we will be for a while.

Today I just took my car in to have it diagnosed it had been stalling out a little bit. They did a full diagnostic on the charging system and nothing turned up. Whereas another car repair business might try to upsell me on services anyway, Hogan and Sons integrity and told me that there was really nothing that my car needed right now. They were very professional and prompt. I will definitely be using them again!

Update 10/12/21: I spoke with Mike, the manager, yesterday who apologized for my experience and offered to make amends by comping my next oil change, which I appreciate. Glad to know they’re reading our comments and striving to ensure high quality, reliable services.Previously, I felt the mechanics were fair and reasonable. Any service they recommended I knew my car needed it and it wouldn’t cost an exorbitant amount. I used to hear “if this were my car, I’d wait to do this service but do this one now..”etc. The guys knew me, were friendly and were helpful. I didn’t dread taking my car in for a service!Today was sadly a different experience. I brought my car in for a routine 40k mile service and I got a call saying everything looked good and my car had been well maintained. It just needed a few things done so I said “ok”. I didn’t ask the price, which is my fault, but when I went to pick up my car I was shocked to see a $700+ price tag! And that was with 2 coupons ($40 off).I learned today that Hogan and Sons was bought out and I’m really disappointed. I believe the work done was fine; I just wish I didn’t have to go back to mistrusting car mechanics and questioning all of their recommendations to avoid paying an arm and a leg.

This was my first experience with Hogan & Sons (I used the Fairfax store), who had been recommended by a friend whose father used to work for the company. When I dropped my car off in the morning, the person behind the desk was personable and knowledgeable. My first impression was of a garage that values customer service and building relationships with customers. The assistant store manager, Shannon, drove the shuttle that picked me up from work in the afternoon. Through our conversation I learned more about the company and the high expectations they have for their employees. I will be coming back.

Brandon was professional and courteous and took the time to answer any questions I had. The shop was clean(bathroom too). The work was done in a reasonable amount of time and they did good work. Overall Im happy with the service and Ill be back in the future when I need more work done.

I had the alignment and oil change, the alignment was out, but there was a potion of the alignment that could not be adjusted, unless I had parts replaced on the front end, which I wasnt quite sure about. I had the brake, transmission and anti freeze flushed. Very expensive but certainly needed, however a customer, it would have been informative for me to see the results of each system flushed, show me what the old fluids looks like, just take a small sample of the old and show it to the customer. This reconfirms my decision to do it and also demonstrates to me the work was done. I would have given a 5 star rating if these other things were addressed.

When I went to Hogan & Sons Tire and Auto, 9580 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22031 Alan Hogan told me that he knew just what I was looking for, he showed me the tires that he had on his own truck and was able to give me a confident review of them. In no- time he had me sold and he was able to order that tire to fit my truck and have them delivered in 2 days. I really like the look and am quite satisfied with the ride so far. Hogan &Sons is always fantastic. I first got to know them by their checking my tire pressure and adding air. Since then, I have used them twice, both times satisfactory. In fact, better than satisfactory. They are great and there are convenient comfortable spaces to walk to- Ross, Einstein Bagel, Trader Joe’s, Peet’s Coffee... There is something for everybody and great service.

Excellent Service. Straight to the point. Clear assessment of likely charges. My issue ended up being a simple tire repair on one tire of a new Tacoma 2018. Alan took very good care of the situation, immediately assessed the exact root cause (screw punctured the tire) and provided exact cost o $40. I went to this place even though I had a few others much more closer, due to the excellent reviews it had, and I am glad I did. Overall a very good experience.

I will admit I am not a car person, for me that means I do not prioritize driving a nice car, and the car that I do have I plan to drive it until the wheels fall off. As such I am not the best at keeping up-to--date with the car maintenance (including oil changes, filling up the gas tank, breaks, etc.). As I was driving down the street I noticed that I needed an oil change immediately so I decided to go to the first place I saw which was Hogan & Sons Tire and Auto. I was a bit nervous pulling into the shop because when dealing with car maintenance it can be a hit or miss regarding how long it will take to address your needs. Not only did the crew at Hogan & Sons Tire and Auto conduct the oil change in a timely manner but they also provided a list of future concerns that I should address. Additionally the cost of the oil change which also included tire rotations were very reasonable. The next time you need your car serviced I would high recommend Hogan & Sons Tire and Auto

I have been taking my car here for the last 3 years and never had an issue, until today. There was a screw in one of my tires and I needed an oil change. The service reps always try to sell me the $100+ oil change and I always decline and get the cheapest one. I have done this since I have owned the car (2012). TODAY the service rep REFUSED to sell me the cheaper one and told me it was REQUIRED and there was nothing he could do. He could clearly see in the computer that the last time I was there I got the cheaper oil change and said there was nothing he could do. I said fine, fix the tire but I am never coming back. He did not care.My tire got fixed and a different service rep brought me the paper work and I thanked him but let him know I would not be back EVER. The service rep who assisted me originally was not there at this time. I walked out the door and the service rep came after me asking the issue. I explained to him and he apologized. He then completed the oil change I originally requested but was refused by the other service rep. So, if you go here DO NOT talk to anyone but Bana or Wally, they got done today what the other service rep REFUSED to do.

Recently took my Jeep in for maintenance services and then returned for more involved work. They were awesome about ordering equipment ahead of time and keeping me in communication about everything. I felt I could trust them and they explained everything in detail to clarify services needed to fix some issues with my Jeep.

I went in for an oil change and anticipated needing to replace brake pads as well (other mechanic said they were worn a few months ago). Hogan and Sons said they were in good shape. Upon inspection, they noticed a different issue on the car and quoted me a price. Upon finishing the repair, I was charged 1/2 the quoted amount since the issue was smaller than originally quoted. These are two examples of the honesty and professionalism at Hogan and Sons. Both Jim and Brandon were knowledgeable, helpful, and honest. Thank you!

I came in for an oil change but I also complained about a shaking motion when I pressed on my brakes while driving. Alan was very helpful and assured me that they will check my car and do the oil change as well. He also offered me a discount! Come to find out, my brakes needed to be changed. They called me and I told them to do everything that was needed to be done. He gave me a time frame and my car was ready at the exact time he told me! I had a great experience! I went to Hogan and sons last night and bought 4 tires for my car. Allen was very helpful and friendly. I called ahead and Allen gave me a price quote and told me how long I would wait. (No wait!) The service was quick and there are some great deals on tire rebates. Also, I was impressed with the waiting room, very clean and warm.

The tire pressure monitor system on my car indicated there was an issue with one of my tires. Although I had a suspicion it was the drivers-side front tire, I was not sure. This morning, in the single-digit cold, I went to Hogan without an appointment and spoke with Alan Hogan. I explained my situation and that I had a medical appointment at 11. Alan told me they would evaluate the issue as quickly as they could and a few minutes later the car was in the bay. The mechanic found a screw in the tire and quickly repaired it. They also did a full safety inspection and Alan recommended an alignment but was NOT pushy about it at all. I told him that I wanted to wait until the end of the pothole season. Alan answered all my questions, to include many automotive questions unrelated to my tire issue. Very friendly, quick, and competent work.

Wonderful Experience! I came in requesting new tires and breaks the other day. I was surprised to find out that after an inspection they found that my brakes did not need replacing, just needed some fresh new tires. I am so glad they called to let me know instead of replacing things I didnt need. I will be returning in the future and recommending anyone I know in the area looking for service.

As a 20 year old girl I was a little nervous about going to take my car to get fixed alone. I had been ripped off by mechanics before and did not want it to happen again. When I walked in I was welcomed with warm smiles and greetings. The people that work there are some of the most genuine people you will find in Fairfax. They did timely, excellent work, in addition to their spectacular customer service. You are not just some money pit for them to drain when you go there. I have been having constant problems with my car lately. I took it in to this shop because I had heard good things from a friend. They worked on my car for hours trying to figure out what no one else could and fixed the problem at a very reasonable price. Rich the manager was very helpful and friendly as was the rest of the staff. I highly recommend this shop to all of my friends.

These guys are great -- excellent communication and service, and they arent trying to sell you service and parts you dont need. In twice trying to resolve an intermittent transmission issue (that they could not replicate), I all but invited them to replace parts and perform service I might not need, but they would not do it. But they did do some routine maintenance I requested that we hope will solve the issue. Quality work that doesnt cost you like it does at the dealership!

Oh my Goodness,this guys are incredibly helpful,excellent customer service,fast services,efficient,great managers im talking about the service manager: Brandon,the salesperson: R.Rodriguez. They take all their time to explain to you whats wrong with your car and make sure they answer all your questions. What a great team. And they offer great deals too. 4 stars for availability and quickness to perform an oil change on a Saturday with no previous appointment.I Docked a star and brought it down to 3 stars for 2 reasons:1- I was quoted $86 dollars for a synthetic oil change for a 2016 Fusion including topping off all fluids. that was not the case, the wind sheild fluid was not topped, and every other cap was not touched. how do I know? they still had the the dirt and dust on them with no marks of opening or closing.2- I was called later and quoted $1200 for a fluid flush and 2 belts. I understand you have to make money but at least be reasonable. both belt kits can be purchased on eBay for less that $100 and an fluid flush costs between $150 to $250 anywhere. you actually quoted me more than the dealership.

Their customer service was terrible. Dont have your car oil changed there.I went to this store to have my oil changed last Monday (1/9) and then I found my car shaking hard the next day (Tuesday). Finally my car was shaking and stalled the day after next and I went to the near garage in Springfield. They found out that the air duct screw was loose. The mechanic were supposed to suggest things that are wrong with my car every time I have my oil changed. So that time I believe the mechanic unscrewed it, but they didnt screw it back tightly. I cant prove it though. The second garage cost me extra $80 to get a diagnosis, just a little screw loose. So I went straight back to the first garage (hogan&son on Rt 236 main St) to complain about their mistake. When I arrived there, I was looking for the manager who supervise every mechanic and finally talked to him but he just gave me a warranty flyer. He didnt say Im sorry and told me that I can get reimbursed from their warranty call. But the warranty number said that if youd drive more than 25 miles away from the location, the warranty isnt valid. The second place was in Springfield but Springfield is not 25 miles away, either. The number told me to go back to the first garage if you want to get your bill reimbursed. They all gave me the run around. Theyre kind of dismissive of me and I want to get revenge the way they treated me. I dont want it to happen again. I want to get some satisfaction through this writing. Their customer service was terrible.

Hogan and Sons: Excellent Good Faith, and Excellent Customer ServiceI am following up today regarding what was a below-average (one star) evaluation I submitted for Hogan and Sons on October 9th for repair work that was done to my Jeep Wrangler several months ago. After reading my comments, Mr. Hogan and his managers contacted me almost immediately to review my experience as well as my unhappiness with the repair work that they had performed and which failed to meet my expectations (see my October 9th message for details). As detailed in my last message, I brought my Jeep to another mechanic, rather than have Hogan and Sons attempt another repair. To my complete surprise, along with their sincere apology, Hogan and Sons provided me with reimbursement for the repairs done to my vehicle by the competing mechanic! I must admit that I was completely blown away by Hogans super responsiveness, and their incredible good-faith effort to rectify this situation.I am writing this follow up on my own free will, because I felt the need to praise these good faith actions. It means something when a company admits its mistakes and makes a real and sincere effort to satisfy their customers no matter what it takes. I told Mr. Hogan that I would bring my cars to Hogan and Sons once again (I have 3) to get servicing. This company has taken serious and complete steps to satisfy a customer. To me, this excellent customer service effort warrants another chance and I am happy to bring my cars to Hogan and Sons for my future repair and service needs.Thank you to Mr. Hogan and the managers at Hogan and Sons. I highly and enthusiastically recommend this company because I now know that they back up their work and make customer service and satisfaction their most important priority. The guys at Hogan & Sons are great. Having a car mechanic I can trust is important, and my recent experience is why Ive been going to them for more than 15 years. Trying to keep an older truck running, they helped me understand which problems I needed to address and those I could put off to the next time. I went there to get an alignment on my Honda Accord. The people there were super nice and they run a tight ship.Gave me a good price for the alignment and did the service in an hours time.And the good thing was I did not even an appointment. Just dropped in on Saturday and they did it.Will definitely come back for future repairs and maintenance on my car.Quick update: The alignment is off within 4 days. The steering is veering to the left on its own. So it looks like they actually did not do it properly.Update: My steering has started vibrating under hard braking badly. Really disappointed. Within 5 days, its at a point as if i did not even do the alignment.Update : They checked the alignment out and did the balancing for free too. The fault was not with the alignment but with my tires. This is what is called customer service. Did not charge me a single penny.Ill definitely come here for future repairs.

I walked into Hogan and Sons needing a tire repaired. I met Rich Greene and he immediately took my car for service. Upon inspection it was determined that all tires would need to be replaced. One might think go in needing one tire and now Im getting sold 4 tires....BS right? NOT HERE. Rich took the time to show me the tread wear, the inside of the damaged tire, and clearly outlined the situation. I clearly understood what need to be done. Service was quick, conviently provided a courtesy ride. The entire process was simple. What made the biggest difference was Rich actually filled out my rebate form, and addressed a stamped envelope so I can take advantage of a mail in rebate. All the extra steps were done so I trust that I will only get the service I need but the service will always be exceptional. Thanks to Rich and the entire team. Great Work!

I cant say enough good things about this place. Everyone is extremely friendly at all encounters. They are on point with diagnosing and fixing problems in a timely manner and go out of their way to make your life easier. Plus the prices are on par or lower than everywhere else Ive tried. I drive about 19,000 miles per year, so Im here a lot! I wouldnt even think about going anywhere else ever again!

I was unaware that this place was not a Goodyear when I called and when I arrived I didnt know until I saw the guys shirt. On a positive note,they serviced my car in record time, however, they are very pricey. I paid nearly $100 just for an oil change, which included a $25 discount so I would have paid even more if I had not received the a coupon and first time customer discount. Granted, my car takes full synthetic, however, when I lived in Hawaii, the Goodyear only charged me ~$70. Which, is why I rate 3 stars.$30 more is insane, even for the fast service. I have been coming to Hogans for many years because of the thorough work your mechanics do. This time was no exception. There were some problems with the catalytic converter that was delivered, and Brandon made a special point of explaining the situation and keeping me in the loop as the work progressed.
