Target is a store primed on the ingenious idea of selling a huge variety of items and foods for low, affordable prices. However, the siphoned quality of both the store efficiency and products counter out that objective. For example, from going through the store today, I noticed many products in the grocery section being sold past or two days prior of it’s expiration date, specifically in the fruits and veggies section. Take a look at the photos with the knowledge of the date being October 29, 2021 at the time of this review. In addition, I can tell you from working there and other experiences as a shopper that the store does not provide much in the way of training to its employees and does not operate at the potential it could. Many times, in my cashier experience there, I would be one of only two cashiers with an open register, while the other twenty lines were closed despite being a crowded day in the middle of a holiday rush. They still deserve kudos for their relatively fair prices and their large variety of items nonetheless.
This is a weird Target that is neither large nor small. It has a huge alcoholic drinks area, a huge pharmacy area, tons of space for kitchen appliances and toys, but sadly the food isles are disappointing. It has a nice covered garage that comes in handy when the weather is not great. It tends to get busy sometimes because of the location, and the parking garage can be a bit hard to enter and exit when it is busy.
Great customer service. I didnt have a receipt for my return items but it was not a problem. Got store credit.
I came with my family in a an regular shopping day and I went to tech asking for a question about a Playstation 5 and (Evan) THE TECH GUY was extremely rude. I cant believe TARGET can hired ppl like this guy and the worst thing was that I asked for the manager and the manager showed up after 30 mins. Now I wonder why Amazon is taking over ..
This Target is very well run. They hire energetic, friendly, polite, professional people who are incredibly efficient at their job. I am so grateful for their drive-up service. It is fast and easy. I’d say about 98% of the time they have the items I need in stock. They are reliable. We love Target!
There are always plenty of staff around to help me. All the items are well organized and easily accessible. This store is very well run! Frederick the manager is very calm and collected and very knowledgeable. He is an excellent leader. I can tell he knows how to run the store.
Very unprofessional pharmacy department. I dropped off a prescription at the beginning of the week to be told they will order it for me and will have it ready for pick up before the weekend. Followed up with them to get a time for pick up, was told they needed to contact the doctor office for verification. Then to be told on Friday, the day of when my prescription is supposed to be ready that it is on back order and they can’t order it for me. Why hadn’t they said that in the first place rather than say drop off the prescription and it will be ready by Friday? Very unprofessional team, starting from Connie to Elaine and the other pharmacist. Will never use this pharmacy again, I suggest you get confirmation from them first before they hold your prescription and give you the run around. Very disappointed.
Came to this target to bought a few items, saw that there is a 5 items below check out section which I find very useful but it looks like the staff didnt want to help, he kept repeating this section is for 5 items below which my family and I had, but then he start saying can you guys put the item faced up due to his place is too small! not a problem in this case i can use self checkout and do it myself . other than that this target is beautiful
Unable to find what i was looking for in the beauty products section. seems like many things were out of stock. employees were very helpful
I don’t know why they call it two hour pick up or f it’s not ready in two hours?! I tried calling multiple times to speak to someone in the pick up department and no one answered the phone during the three minutes it rings before the system hangs up on you. I had to flag down a nice employee who looked into the delay in my order (which consisted of three items) and said there was a delay in the order processing team but she was not given a time frame on when it would be ready. I waited in my car for almost an hour waiting for this order and could not be given a time frame on when it would be ready. No one notified me nor did anyone answer the phone.

It was GREAT outstanding customer service by Target employee Mahogany in the Fairfax, VA Target store. She worked in customer service on 6/8/21. She solved my problem, listened to my story, and made my day. Mahogany is an all star.
Drive up ordering process is horrible at this location I had ordered my baby breeza sterilizer for my 3 week year old newborn son around 11am i went to this target for drive up the item wasn’t ready I went upstairs a representative in customer service told me to grab the order and find it on the sales floor oh ok lol. So, I did just that came back to the customer service kiosk for her to say oh we have to refund the original order then process this one differently hmmmm that doesn’t make sense I’ve already paid for it…So, I has for a manager by the name of Eva who was very strict on policy lol and rude told me I had to wait for my order to be processed in drive up and I couldn’t take my order that item that I paid for. She stated that she was a manager or one of the store managers but a different team handles drive up and their isn’t a way for me to take the item now. I did drive up because my wife is currently dealing with Mastitis at home with my newborn so I wanted this visit to be quick and simple I ordered I PS5 quicker than this baby breeza from this same target. Eva needs some customer service skills if she is going to be manager at target I won’t be shopping here EVER again!

The busiest and most packer Target I’ve ever been to. Wanted to grab some candy before a movie quick but when I went to checkout, I was faced with a line of 30+ people (yes, literally 30 people in each line).Where are the staff???
They had everything I needed and then some. That being said, the store was on the 4th floor! Which I thought was a little ridiculous. But, considering they had what we needed, I cant complain.
Food on the shelves is frequently expired so make sure you double check. Curbside is normally good but if they forget bags which they have done, it is impossible to contact them. Customer service either never answers the phone or answers and immediately hangs up. I love target but this is not a good one.
Id never seen a Target quite like this one with 3 stories. Theyve always been one level. But this one was a beautifully designed building overlooking a courtyard area with a movie theater with outdoor seating and a screen on the wall.The layout of this target was similar to local ones but just looked nicer I suppose.I always enjoy a stroll through target to but one thing while not intending to but 10 more things. Theres just always a good find that grabs me.

I would recommend to go shop in the morning. When the store is open. Because you get more stuff than later on today. Plus it more peaceful and clean. It not always perfect.
This Target has the dirtiest restrooms in the area. Seriously, I can’t say they’re the dirtiest but, definitely top 5 of any Target I have ever shopped at.
Let me start by saying since the pandemic, I’ve been forced to shop at multiple targets instead of the one I’m used to near me. I collect a specific action figures series and it’s often quite difficult to find the ones in looking for in stock. The target app does its best to let me know what’s in stock and where but it’s not always the most accurate. The first time coming to this store I was met by a very knowledgeable employee (Shawn), her assistance was beyond anything I’ve ever experienced at retail stores like target. She actually cares for her customers and what they’re looking for. Truly a unsung hero doing what she can whenever she can. Shawn you are appreciated and it’s always a delight seeing you in the store! Wishing you the best and a happy new year!!

Organized and conveniently located. The guy at the door has no clue where anything is so go to the service desk/returns and ask if you need to find anything.
I love the quality of products and there are so many brands at Target that I cannot find anywhere else.
HUGE target with a ton of stuff. I find that its better stocked than other local targets as well. The parking garage has a lot of space so parking should not be an issue.
Friendly service! I asked for the pet food and the associate pointed me in the right direction and seemed happy to help and had a positive attitude.

I usually love this place. But. I went this morning at 10am. Lots of things out of stock. More than half of the bread was 3 DAYS EXPIRED.Do better Target.I gave you another chance and you failed. Why too many people in the store, half the items expired and almost everything out of stock. Im done.
Over 50 people waiting in line with three cash registers open and employees refusing to open up check out lanes so that people can filter out instead of being jammed up with each other. Genius.
The staff is always friendly and the store is clean and quiet. I love that the grocery section was well stocked before an impending snow storm, I found items there that I couldnt in the grocery store.

First time shopper at this location. Needless to say likely my last because I was over charged on multiple items... 2 liter 7-UP & Root Beer along with Perdue Chicken Breast Strips. The monetary error is less than $5, but $5 is $5. Like most Target stores Ive been to in the DMV once the shelves are bare and items are out of stock they remain so. I had high hopes for this particular store, but those hopes have evaporated.

It took 3 hours for a small order of candy bags to get ready. It took more than 15 minutes to scan the barcode on my app to pick up my package because the hand-held scanner was frozen! It was a busy day and I assume this is normal. But the entire process was easy an straight forward.
The exceedingly nice and oh so friendly woman who assisted me on Saturday morning, May 16th made my day! Noreen, I think is her name... and I just have to say - with all the stress of our situation it was so WONDERFUL to interact with Noreen... she was so helpful! I sense she genuinely cared about me, the purchases I was making and was so HELPFUL as I checked-out. You cannot train someone ho have a caring, approachable personality... it comes from within, and you have a WINNER in Noreen. I am so glad I discovered your Target!

I updated my review from a 1 to a 3 since they changed and let you choose your line again. They were directing you to a line. Let me choose my line that I go to. This corona virus is getting out of hand. The store is okay to shop at. They could just make sure they restock major items. You would think Target would be able to keep certain things in stock.
Despite long lines at registers and several people ahead of me at guest services, I was in and out within 5 minutes. This is very important during the current covid-19 crisis.

Frederick has amazing customer service skills. He did all he could to make sure i was satisfied and a happy customer. He went above and beyond and for that i was super thankful! Also, this store in particular is very clean, organized, and has some awesome clearance deals.

I just was in Target and I had an unpleasant experience. The cashier seemed sick. He was cleaning his nose in front of me while scanning my things. He looked miserable. He even cleaned his hands with hand sanitizer. Are you kidding me TARGET!! We are in the middle of the pandemic and you don’t pay attention to this.
Popped in early this morning in hopes of finding a outdoor folding chair. My son had a baseball game and we traveled a long way and due to covid we spread out around the outer part of field to watch. I forgot my chair and have chronic pain and need to sit as much as I can. There weren’t any on the shelves so I thought I’d take a chance and ask an employee if there were any in the back (every time I’ve asked this in the past, for a product they just say no, so I wasn’t expecting much) told the gentleman my situation, he looked it up and came back with a chair. So grateful. He made my day!!!

I had to knock my review down to three stars after my previous two shopping trips here. I decided to pick up some groceries while I was there and it turns out some of the food, including meat, was past their sell-by dates. I guess this is partly my fault (??) for assuming they check these dates before putting them (or leaving them) on the shelves. In terms of everything else, its.....fine.
Plenty of parking.They ALWAYS need more cashiers or at least someone to direct the covid checkout queue (that is usually past the greeting cards).Store is usually clean, bathrooms usually not clean.

It was quick transaction. I had already selected the coupon from the Target app on my phone. The price was wrong when the item was scanned. It said 16.99 instead on 14.99. I was in the self checkout section and called for help. The last over rode the transaction and it was a breeeze. No price checking for extra time or extended wait period. Thank you!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Including apologetic because of the wait time for them to locate the last part of my order- they offered a gift card to me for the wait.One of the ladies helped me get the overlarge crates/bins into my car, this was especially helpful as I had pulled my back & was having trouble moving..Overall, as this was my first time doing this type of service with them, I would have to say I will do this again.

Target store is a godsend in this neighborhood. We had to go to Fair Oaks or Tysons Corner prior to Target moving here.I like their product line. They are affordable and stylish on apparel. They cover different options for people taste. I buy most of my weekly purchases at Target.

Good Target store. A lot of variety and a decent grocery and wine section. Parking garage is a bit of a zoo, but that can be said about any parking garage in northern VA. This store can get very busy, but theyre typically staffed properly. Customer service team is very helpful. I have had to return or exchange things multiple times and they have been accommodating - even when I have made the initial purchase online. Their bathrooms are pretty clean and theres even a family restroom for those of us who have the bring the kids along. Finally - although Im not a fan of Starbucks - having the option of getting a freshly brewed coffee drink while I shop is pretty nice. I took one star away because the kids and babies section is a bit disorganized and some times things are mislabeled (which resulted in me having to return something).
Who doesnt love a spontaneous Target run a few hours before closing? This was our first time shopping at the one in the Mosaic District and its HUGE, especially for it being on one level (4th level). Aisles are wide and spacious. I love that the store is connected/part of the FREE parking garage so you have the ease of using the escalator or elevators to get to the entrance. When we went around 9pm on a Sunday night, there were plenty of parking spaces and the store was practically empty it felt like we had it all to ourselves!I think next time Id like to take my leisure but we kinda had a goal in mind about what we needed to get (and with a baby & toddler, you kinda want to be as efficient as possible). We mainly explored the baby and the produce section. One thing that stuck out to me by the pantry food aisle was the room off to the side for their beer and wine selections. It looked pretty expansive to me compared to other Targets Ive been to.Overall, it was a pleasant experience that we will definitely come back again for future Target runs. According to the words of my husband, its refreshing to go to a new (to us) Target. And this particular Target does not disappoint!
Pickup of online order was surprisingly quick, even Christmas Eve. Grocery section hidden in back of store has a very good selection of foods.

Nice location and clean, but they are always out of basic items (toothpaste, aluminum foil, aa batteries, etc.). Parking can also be a bit difficult, so I prefer going to other nearby stores.
Ordering online, picking up in store at Merrifield Store has improved a whole lot. I used to come to the store, after getting the email that my order was ready, to wait at the store while the employee went to the floor to get the items. This time, they have my orders ready. The wait at the customer service was a little too long for my taste. This is at 2:15 pm on a Wed.
The stores are almost always very clean, well stocked, then prices are reasonable.

This target was very neat. It was nice and so were most of the workers... except for Hunter. I was getting toilet paper but some fell when I went to reach for the brand i liked. Hunter proceeded to yell at me and tell me to “get out” i was very confused and left.
Probably one of the coolest Targets Ive been to. Neat design, lots of space and selection, decent prices. But there is a lot of foot traffic in and out so it can be a bit dirty sometimes.
A cashier by the name Le was checking me out at the register, and she was one of the worst cashiers I have ever seen. I simply asked her to match up the price to a previous sale that was going on and the store ran out at the time, and she delayed the entire line to try hard not to get it done, and even the manager on duty had to take her side as she tried hard not to change the price for me. Even that the register was ringing the wrong price anyways, she still had to try hard not to match the price to a previous sale.
Whish I could give zero stars.. 20 min waiting in a checkout and finally decided it wasnt worth it!
Worst experience ever. I never wrote any review for any store before. This is my first one. I ordered a Christmas gift for my son online and got a few ready-for-pickup email during the past a few days. I went to pick up the order today, December 23rd, together with my two kids. We waited there for fifteen minutes. Then we were told the item was put in a wrong place and they were not able to find it. I was told that they have some of this item in stock and someone will bring another one for us in about five minutes. Then five minutes later, I was told that this item is out of stock in this store, the nearby store does not have it, and they are not going to restock it in the near future either. All they can do is to cancel my order. So, we ended up with a cancelled order after waiting for about 30 minutes. And I have to rush to another store to find a Christmas present for my boy.
It was my very first and last time in this store! First of all, why can’t you provide customers with decent carts where one can stock properly water packs and cans underneath the cart without having them falling! I have never seen carts so unpractical and absolutely not user friendly at all! Second thing, after spending almost $500 in the store, I found out that those stupids carts can’t be taken out!! So here I am with all my grocery bags going back and forth to my car as there was no parking available in front of the store. This is just so inconvenient ! Really what a hell of a shopping experience, I am not coming back.
Ease of purchase, pickup, payment.I ordered a gift for my wife while en route to the area. When I arrived an hour later the order was ready and I picked it up. This is how to do Holiday Shopping!
The salesman Ronnie A was very professional, extremely helpful, not intimidating like some tech salesmen can be when you are not that savvy, he explain this deal and I decided to go through the purchase. I had been to other stores and the salesmen turned me off!
Always clean and organized, always parking available in their garage, we’ve always found everything we’re looking for.
We order online and 3 out of 5 times they forget to give us some items at pickup. It appears their storage process has some flaws since each time it is a bag(s) missing that they find when you tell them items are missing.
Its always great having a Target nearby, and this is a pretty sizable one. The customer service is top notch, and they are always attentive and helpful. Major points deducted for issues with stock though, as often many items are out of stock in their home goods, kitchen, clothing, and especially the grocery sections. The dairy aisle on a regular Tuesday night at 7pm can look as barren as if the entire town was under a hurricane watch. Often items that ARE in stock may be stocked in the wrong sections or under the wrong label, which leads to further issues trying to find what you are looking for.
By far the worse target i have ever visited. The customer service is very poor, JT the store manager never returns calls, Connor who is also one of the managers was unhelpful. Not coming back here this target makes Walmart experience much better
Awesome Target! Very neat and clean. I love the convenience of having shopping carts that go up and down the escalator. Great hours, I can always count on them for that last minute or forgotten item.

Stock is always out and it looks like a tornado went through every aisle. Lines are always incredibly long. The store is always busy and yet nobody is working it seems.
The order was processed in nearly a light speed and super smoothly, i.e. in and out within 5-6 minutes.Will continue to shop in Target.
A promo gift card was added to my total without my consent. When I told the cashier I didnt want it she said that it was free, scanned it and put it in my cart. This feels like youre trying to force people into getting gifts cards so that you can steal their money, in the hopes that not all the gift cards get used.
