Place is great for a nice outdoor hangout with brews and foodFood:Food is good overall and portions are appropriate for their prize. I like that they have a concentrated menu with pretty good dishes.Atmosphere and service:Atmosphere here is great especially in the warmer days as there is expansive outside space. The indoors is great too as they feature three floors of seating. Service is always fast and friendly.Overall, good specialty house brews and experience with proximity to Mosaic and other attractions.

Have been to the other more conventional brewery that Caboose has to offer off of the W & OD trail and enjoyed it so I gave this one a shot with some of my people. Positives - Tangerine IPA is a really solid brew, and some of my party ordering the tuna poke bowl which they enjoyed. Grilled chicken sandwich was decent but overpriced. Negatives - I understand the QR code service method and why it is done but lacks energy and authenticity when it comes to having fun with the bartenders and servers and gaining a positive personal experience. When I went downstairs to return my glass and ask if I could order a drink with cash, a gentlemen working there looked at me like I was crazy for even asking and loudly projecting that where I was standing was only for employees - which I explained it was my first time there with my hands up asking to just take it easy. Service was decent but only one server seemed slightly engaged. With this disconnect in service - and having had been in the industry for a while - it was a bit obnoxious for the last call YELL, when theres no connection whatsoever I highly recommend servers just walking around and saying last call to tables instead of patrons getting yelled at. Also, it being dim/fairly dark in the warehouse, and then out of the blue turning on extremely bright lighting was very off-putting. My note to management is to at least warn guests thats going to happen and have more engaged service. Old fashioned was drowned in simple and little bitters with a small pour. Might go back.

Fantastic food options (lots of variety and vegan and gluten free options) plus great coffee and alcoholic drink options. Was really impressed by the expansive seating options, from large outdoor spaces to several levels indoors with a great open layout and decor. Also very health conscious and convenient service...not only the QR code menu but food and drinks can be ordered at your pace and paid for all from your phone then delivered to your seat.

Good, beer and service is good. Great covid plan.Be aware that the reservation fee does not go toward your tab. It is truly just to hold your spot. At $10 a person, that’s a hefty fee for a family for four. So happy you have fair wages and happy to pay that fee but $10 a person to hold a spot is a lot. Read the website closely!

Hipsters love this place.First, the food is pretty good. The beer selection is quite enjoyable. However here, the wait staff simply doesnt care much about their guests. They expect you to order by phone, force you to give tips BEFORE service is rendered and on top of a mandatory fair wage fee, an app usage fee, and taxes. After orders are delivered, no one bothered to check up on guests. Servers simply did not even bothered to check on guests.Parking blows. Cash is prohibited here. You get very little food for the prices you pay. That said, the chicken wings were quite delicious.Your mileage may vary. Youll love this place if you enjoy paying nearly USD30.00 for six wings and fries and a 4oz beer.Tax was 6.9%Fair Wage Fee: 15%Fee for using the mandatory app to order: $0.25 (1.1%)I wanted to give tips in cash after-the-fact but there is no mechanism to do that here... youre forced to tip beforehand so if service sucks, too bad, they got your money already. Dont care.Later, I found out that they opted to charge this Fair Wage Fee because they dont believe in the traditional tipping model. Fair enough, but then why did they leave the tips option on the payment app? A bit hypocritical and disingenuous if you ask me.Overall, not a terrible experience, but left feeling unfulfilled and unappreciated... I got it, times are tough, good help is hard to find... there was simply an air of arrogance, pretentiousness and aloofness that make this place REALLY difficult to recommend. Sorry, just being honest... Cant wait to see what they have to say below... Cheers!

We went with a large group of friends to breakfast. It is too fancy for me. I want to be able to order to a waiter and not use a fancy APP. Also I got coffee and the milk was rotten, it took them a long time to get me a new cup of coffee and fresh milk. The avocado toast smelled like fish! The oatmeal was excellent, the blueberry muffin was very small. The service was slow and minimal. The Fair Wage Fee seems weird and no other places charges this, and it feels bad to pay this and get poor food and poor quality service. Overall I wont be going back.

It took over 30 minutes for my beer flight to be delivered to my table after ordering...Went here to celebrate fathers day and grab some drinks with a few friends. They were hosting a drag brunch event at the same time, which was completely separated from the main and outdoor seating areas. The place wasnt too busy otherwise. My friends and I placed our orders through their online system which was extremely clunky, I think I confirmed my order on at least 3 different screens before it was accepted...I got a confirmation text saying my order was confirmed. 15 minutes later, no one at my table had drinks yet and we were never approached by any staff. My friend had to ask about our orders. He was told theyve been received, but they had a backlog because of this brunch event - first weve been told anything.30 minutes since we ordered, we still dont have our drinks. My friend requested help via their ordering system at which time someone actually came to our table and basically told us the same thing - they were busy with the event. We asked if we could cancel our orders which we had already paid for through their online system at which point the staff finally checked on our drinks and brought them out minutes later. My brother accidentally messed up his order because of their poor ordering system, so he had to wait another 15 minutes to get his drink even though he was at our same table. The staff was unapologetic, a bit rude (at least the few that we actually talked to), and we did pay full price for their complete disregard to servicing their actual customers. They also automatically upcharge by 15% so they can pay their staff fair wage at the expense of their customers.I dont recommend and we wont be back.

A good example of how a mandatory 15% gratuity translates to poor service. Came here with my family and Mom who is in town from out of state. We haven’t been to this Caboose before and we were excited to give it a shot. Sticky table - when we asked the guy who brought our first drinks to the table for a rag to clean it - we didn’t even get an acknowledgment (but he did come back with a rag). Asked for waters in our order but received none - kids were happy about that. Overall great food and beer but the service is piss poor.

I’m glad they want their employees to be paid well during these times, but I feel that customers should not be paying the employees a fair and living wage. The employer should. Quirky and modern brewpub / coffee cafe that is very family friendly with a spacious patio. Tasty Caboose Brewing beer as well as interesting bites. I enjoyed the Fog New England style IPA and we had wings and fried pickles. It was good, but still has some opportunity to grow. They only do whole pints, which makes it hard to sample a variety of beers. I would love for them to do four ounce pours or at least halfs. For food, the wings were tasty, but a bit undercooked and not crispy; the whole pickle spears are fine, but Id prefer breaded slices vs whole battered spears. Its new so I hope they work out the kinks. Overall, a nice addition for a place to grab a drink and snack with friends.

I never noticed the warehouse that Caboose Commons is in before it was built. Ive driven past it probably 10,000 times, but literally never saw it. I dont know if its been there for years or whether it was custom built. All I know is that, one day I saw a grand opening sign on a building and decided to give the place a shot.Im glad I did.Upon walking into the cafe/brewery/restaurant/collaborative workspace I was amazed at the size. Its probably a good three stories tall and completely open. Theres a small counter where you order your food a bunch of tables and several levels where you can go work, eat, meet, greet or do whatever your heart desires.I decided to eat, so I grabbed a menu and began deliberating what I would shove into my body. The menus arent particularly nice, they look like theyve been printed out at someones home, but they are filled to the bursting with interesting food and drink options. They have everything from hamburgers to soups, pour overs to beers which made deciding what I wanted a bit of a process.Eventually, I landed on their IPA BBQ Burger and a Township pour over coffee. An odd combination, I know, but I wanted to give everything a fair taste. The cashier was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable in coffee and made some great suggestions.Ill say the meal was somewhat expensive. I paid $13 for the hamburger and another $4 for the coffee. I was then handed a number and sent off to go find a table wherever my heart desired. Obviously, I went for the upper levels. In doing so I walked past the brewery and decided to take a peek inside. From what I can tell, they have 6-8 fermenters and what looks like a full-time employee in charge of managing the brewing. Pretty impressive for a small shop.I walked up the stairs and picked a nice table overlooking the ground floor. After about 15 minutes, I had my burger and coffee. The burger was good, not mind-blowing. The bun was crispy, the meat was well-cooked and the BBQ sauce added an interesting, southern flavor. But there was nothing on it that really knocked me out of my seat. I did, however, enjoy the fries. The coffee was wonderful. Very strong and punchy. You could tell it was fresh and the pour over was done very nicely. Honestly, that in-and-of-itself is enough to make me want to go back. Others that tried the beer said it was good.Overall, I really like this place. Ill say its probably not somewhere Id go to get a full meal again and, judging from the clientele, it doesnt seem like thats whats happening anyway. Most people were sipping on a coffee or beer and knocking out some work on their computers; more of what you would expect from a coffee shop.Id suggest not going at peak hours. We went a little after lunch and the place wasnt empty, but we were able to find plenty of seating no problem. But Ive heard that if you go at the wrong time you can have a little trouble.Looking forward to going back!

We realllly wanted to love Caboose, but unfortunately we didn’t. We found this place while going to the Mosiac District because it was packed with people and looked like a fun environment! Plus we love trying new breweries.Today we ordered the avocado toast, and we double checked with the staff that we could make it vegan and removed the creamy gochujang. However, we were disappointed when we found out the bread was buttered, even though we were told that to make it vegan we only had to remove the creamy spread. We also ordered wings and Mac n cheese (not pictured). Mac n cheese lived up to hype, but wings fell short - lacking flavor and sauce. Fries were good but that’s only because it’s really hard to screw up frozen fries. Finally we decided to try out some tasters since they don’t have flights. We weren’t told we had to pick them up at the bar so we waited at our table wondering when they’d come. Finally we went and asked, and were told they’d been waiting for us. Would have appreciated better communication on that part. To top it off, the bartenders didn’t inform us of the order of tasters and didn’t give us a reference sheet with the names. So we were tasting beer trying to guess which ones they were. Furthermore, all the beers were mediocre.Overall, the atmosphere and location of Caboose is great! Also a plus that it’s family and pet friendly. In terms of service and food though, there’s a lot more to be desired.

The QR code order was super easy and they bring the food right to your table. The coffee and food options were plentiful and a great variety. I loved that there were about 7 coffee options for the 32oz French press! It was enough coffee for my husband and I to share. He got the avocado toast, which has a great East Asian twist. I got the Ramsays eggs, which were so yummy! FYI, they have hot sauce if you ask for it. Cant wait to comeback and try more food and coffee.Stroller status: We were there at 8am on Labor Day and the place was filled with nothing but adults eating with young kids. Let me start by saying I never give reviews- so it takes a lot for me to do one. While I typically enjoy this place in the evenings on the patio, I have to give a one-star for the experience and value of product received. I ordered a strawberry margarita- a bit on the pricey side for $11.60 (total before tip). When I asked for light ice, you will still get 1/2 ice and barely get half a drink. I’ve added a photo that was taken immediately when I sat down. When I asked the bartender if this was it, he said “Yeah, sorry, you asked for lite ice so that’s it”. So, I’d recommend just sticking to beer and not trying to switch things up and try new things- you certainly won’t get what you pay for.

What more could you ask for from a place than delicious beer brewed onsite, a variety of flavorful coffee drinks, a diverse menu with something for everyone and a dynamic space for whatever experience you are looking to have. Whether you are looking to do work, hang out with a friend or a group of friends this place really has it all. Service was excellent and staff were incredible friendly. This is a unique find among the Mosaic districts bougie assortment of restaurants and coffee shops, some of which excel in their respective offerings but many of which fall short of the service and atmosphere you can find at Caboose. Prices are slightly higher than what you would pay for food and beer but then again you are getting beer that has been brewed onsite and food that tastes like it is made from fresh ingredients. I would highly recommend this place.

The food that was mistakenly taken to our table was then brought halfway back to the kitchen before being served to the correct table! This would be unacceptable before coronavirus let alone now. What I haven’t mentioned is the order that came to us was identical except the sides were incorrect, before realizing it I ate one of the French fries off the plate and had touched the burger. THIS WAS SERVED TO THE OTHER TABLE BEFORE I HAD A CHANCE TO SAY ANYTHING! In hindsight I should have told the other table directly but was so flabbergasted that I froze up, that mistake is on me, but I should have never been put in that position to begin with!We had reservations about eating our own food given what we saw. Will definitely not be back as that kind of behavior is unacceptable especially in today’s health climate.

Lovely space! I worked on the third floor remotely & I love how open everything is. There’s any area for any person coming to Caboose Commons - wether you want a quiet and removed couch in the back of the third floor, or a table on the first floor that could fit all of your friends for a fantastic dinner. My quinoa salad was also great! A little over-dressed and over packed with sweet fruit but an impressive meal nonetheless

We were looking for a place to get some breakfast and discovered this unique and cool brewery/coffee house. Offers a small selection of breakfast sandwiches some served open face, salads and lunch items. Chill place with good vibes healthy food items. Can’t gage the brews haven’t been there in the afternoon or later to indulge. They also have a large outdoor illuminated seating area with plenty of seating and outdoor heaters.

Absolutely love this place! I used to come here and study all the time. I just came here and I somehow forgot that I didn’t choose an iced latte when they brought out a hot latte. The kindest server offered to remake it for me when I asked for a cup of ice for the hot latte. Best service hands down!!

Came over to get a cup of latte take away. Instead has been told to download a barcode scanner to my phone, go to their website, register my credit card, browse through the menue, choose what I need, order it and stay at the door to wait.Ridiculous.

UPDATE: I drove here on a long drive, counting on the electric vehicle charging stations being available. I got there and both spots were ICEd (internal combustion engine blocked). I complained to management and nothing happened. Really upset me, and Ill be leaving a notice on those peoples cars. Now I gotta find something else and hopefully make it home with enough charge. My new favorite brewery in northern Virginia, besides Sinistral in Old Town Manassas. I love the vibe here! Its like a modern beer garden. They have two free electric vehicle charging stations, which is a huge bonus for me! 😁 The food was EXCELLENT and DELICIOUS, along with their coffee and chai tea. Very different from the usual brewery. My favorite was the ahi poke bowl and the veggie Thai chili noodles. I got the raspberry beer and a chai latte. Brownie was delicious as well! Theres 3 floors and tons of space! Another big bonus was how family friendly it was for my 1 year old and my friends 1 year old too! Very nice restrooms with changing stations. Well done folks!! 👏🏼🍻
