Great experience. Staff was very polite and extremely patient. I have an odd combination of issues with my feet and they took lots of time to let me try out numerous shoes and combinations of insoles.They listened to my feedback and definitely took it into account when making subsequent recommendations.I highly recommend them.

During my numerous visits to the store, the team at Potomac River Running has always been very knowledgeable, attentive and helpful. They were also very generous to provide an exchange and refund for a pair a shoes I recently bought after they were showing excessive wear and tear. Great customer service!

This is a great store to pick up some new running shoes. The staff are super helpful. They have a treadmill set up to film your stride. This is super helpful to make sure you have the right kind of support in your shoes.The store is located inside of the mall, on the first floor. So, you wont see the store just driving by.

I had an amazing experience here. I came in desperately needing new sneakers, and Robert was so helpful. He helped me pick out the perfect shoes, and was so friendly and chatty while doing so. I dont live in the area, but if I did i would definitely come back here again

Everyone at PR Running Arlington is great and are super helpful (and knowledgeable) when suggesting running gear...especially shoes.My current Brooks Ghost 13 shoes are from a recommendation from Phillip and I couldnt be happier with these shoes.I always get my running shoes at PR Running Arlington for this reason alone - great customer service.

This urban cool strore is packed with merchandise from floor to ceiling. Most importantly the friendly and helpful staff provided super service and attention, buy giving you time to run on the treadmill or compare. Caroline, an experienced runner, and sales associate offered perfect advise on several aspects of my gait and running posture. No pressure... They offer a great variety of top notch products at fair prices.

I have been to many specialty shoe stores and all of them say something like this, we dont need the technology, we have been doing this for years. Im sure that there are few people who have actually dedicated their life to being able to look at another persons feet and tell whether or not it will strike the ground appropriately. Even how much of an arch one person may or may not have. Thats why I am giving this establishment 5 stars. Upon entering you are greeted with kindness. They will say hello and possibly give you a run down on what the store is about. Not only will they use their experience, but they will use several pieces of equipment to analyze your gait and arch. They even have the ability to capture it on video, slow it down, and analyze it right there in front of you in the matter of minutes. Once they determine a good match for a shoe, they will let you test it out. They will test several different options so that you can find the perfect one for your foot and running style. There are few stores that I know of that goes beyond this but then you are talking serious money for your shoes and inserts. So this is for those who want a decently affordable, comfortable shoe that matches you. Give this place a try! Your health is important! Take care of yourself! Worst case, you dont buy anything.

Gentleman named Wilson was really patient with me and had good customer care

The service here is exceptional. I bought a pair of sneakers last week and after trying on many pairs of sneakers i finally found a good fit. They really took the time and care to make sure I found the perfect fit as it is difficult for me to often find a comfortable pair of sneakers.

Excellent customer service; friendly and knowledgeable. Asked for a pair to be shipped. Arrived in two days with a sticker and personalized note enclosed. Terrific experience.

Good local shop to grab new gear

This is my second time purchasing Hoka Speedgoat shoes and the first time purchasing the Superfeet Green support inserts, I was very happy with selection of both the Hoka shoes and the inserts which the sales associates that also suggested that I was purchasing the perfect shoe for community walking and park hiking. I wore the first pair for a year every day walking about 5 miles a day. I couldnt believe the compliments and interest I have gotten while wearing these shoes. The Potomac River Running store is convenient for it in my community and located in the Ballston Quarters Mall.

Wilson was super helpful. Im so thankful I followed the reviews and came in. Im so pleased with my purchase.

My wife and I went there today to get a pair of shoes for me and look at inserts for my wife. When we walked in, there were three associates, and no customers. We were not greeted and I had to approach one of the associates. I was going to let my wife go first, but she said for me to go ahead. Another couple walked in and the associates greeted them, though no one had approached my wife. I did see an associate finally come over to my wife and they were talking. I got a pair of shoes and my wife got inserts. While walking back to the car, I noticed my wifes demeanor was off. She mentioned that the associate that assisted me never spoke to her. She could not put any particular thing or action, but the experience was very off-putting. I took the items back and returned them. Interesting thing, while returning the items, someone walks in and an associate greeted the customers. We will spend our money somewhere else.

Super helpful and friendly employees who genuinely want to help you find what you need. They wont judge you or your running ability or make you feel like youre not good enough to be there. I usually only buy running shoes/socks here but I have a feeling Im going to be back to get their expert advice on other items too. Dont buy your shoes using only slightly helpful reviews on Amazon, buy them here with expert advice!

Such a great local running store! I was greeted immediately and had a walk-in fitting done in just a few minutes. Vincent was very helpful and explained various shoe options in detail. He was also super patient and not pushy at all as I tried on and re-tried on several pairs- there are so many great options that I had a hard time deciding! I left with a pair of Hoka Bondis that I absolutely love! They give a great military discount as well!

Been here a couple of times for running shoes for my better half. Great service and usual price for good running trainers, ie not cheap, but thats what you pay these days. I prefer this new location to the old one.

I have been to a lot of running shops in the major big cities and this place is on par with the best. Their fitting process is efficient but effective and also informative to the athlete. The staff are also helpful with general knowledge of recreational running and racing in the area. Their selection is awesome and they are plugged into the local running community, especially advocating for young athletes!

Great service here, very friendly and knowledgeable staff who help you find the right shoe for you. You can run on the treadmill to try out shoes and they can record and analyze your stride to see what type of shoe is right for you. Highly recommend.

Absolutely wonderful place. I am flat footed and trying to get back into running. I was recommended this place. When I came in I was greeted by a very welcoming person named Phil. He helped me find my perfect shoe. They placed me on a treadmill, showed me my stride and exactly what my problem areas are. Thanks again Phil, I absolutely love my shoes!

I went to PRR after being given a shoe prescription from my PT at Jackson Clinics. They set me up with two pair of running shoes based upon the PTs advice. The shoes fit well and I was in and out very quickly. Nice to have a store that gave such personalized service.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Situated in the reemerging new Ballston mall, this store is a family-owned, locally based running specialty store. You can tell that the staff really knows their stuff. I dont know too much about running shoes (what I was in for) and Caroline was very helpful in sorting what kind of running shoe I need and walking me through my options. They put you in neutral shoes and filmed me from the side and behind while I jogged on the treadmill. Then she went over the results with me and let me know what she was looking for. She was very patient with me and while I ultimately didnt buy my shoes from this store, I will definitely consider them next time Im in the market.

When I went I was immediately greeted by a staff member. It looked like only one person was working at the time which wasnt an issue since I was the only person in the store. I answered a few questions about the running shoes I currently wear.The staff member brought out 3 pairs of shoes for me and explained the differences in each and the brand. They have a treadmill to test out the shoes so I did. I purchased 1 pair and was in and out in about 15 minutes.The only annoying thing was that I didnt see prices on any of the items in the store.

I came here for a gait analysis and bought some Brooks a month ago. The lady was verysweet, helpful an knowledgable. She was patient and gave me many options to try on from Brooks, Nike, Adidas and New Balance. I will be back to get another pair and will be recommending this place to all my friends and family.
