I have needed to receive the services of American Auto Body Specialists twice in 5 years, unfortunately. The staff is courteous, caring, and the work is immaculate. They worked with my insurance, AAA, even though they were not on the list. The staff was the same as 5 years ago which says something. Both times I picked up my car I could not tell I had been in an accident.

Me and my husband took our Mercedes benz C55 and ML500 to This place to get the bumper repainted- and I’m so glad that we took it to this place, because johnny help us out and he explain us everything what they need to do and how long would it take to do process and he always follow up with us and the most important thing beside the customer service is the work that they did. Both times i took my vehicles I left very very happy not disappointed at all the with there customer service nor there work and besides that they give me flowers when we came and pick up the car. This body shop refused to check my wheel alignment after I was rear ended in a car accident. The guy said it was all in my head and there was no way to prove if it was/wasnt caused by the accident before he inspected the exterior my car. He also stated that my insurance company MIGHT not cover the inspection and refused to even check the alignment for damage! I wasnt even given the option to pay for the assesment myself. Thankfully an independent company agreed to check my alignment and correct the problem.Also, I was informed on Thursday that another part had to be ordered for my car and I would be updated again on Friday or next when the car was completed. I told them I work in the afternoons and I would only be able to pick up the car in the mornings. On Friday afternoon the shop told me the repairs were done and the car was ready to be picked up. I reminded them of my schedule and asked if I could pick it up on Saturday or Monday morning because the shop is not open after 5pm on Fridays. I was told that they already notified the insurance company that the car was finished and that my rental wouldnt be covered over the weekend, so I had to get the car that day. I asked why didnt I receive a call earlier in the day so I could have made arrangements to get the it before I went to work. They never offered an explanation and I had to beg my insurance extend car rental to Monday when I was able to pick up the car. Dont let your insurance company refer you to them.

I would NEVER recommend this shop for auto repairs. I am also considering canceling my insurance company through Mercury since they contract with this shop. Im 4 1/2 months pregnant and was in a horrible accident 7/29/19. My insurance company made me take my truck to this location for an inspection, its the insurance carriers policy. So before I went to the emergency room I did as my policy holder informed me to do. I told them upfront my insurance company sent me here for the inspection. Once I arrived they said I needed to release my truck and sign paperwork. After already being in a traumatizing collision, they not only had me sign the paperwork to leave my truck at the shop but to also go ahead and proceed with a tear down of my truck. The shop then proceeded to take the initiative and start ordering parts, less than 24 hours of sending the quote to my insurance company and never getting approval of the repairs. In less than a day they started billing my insurance company for rim repairs. Still with no approval of getting anything fixed by myself. I stated from the moment of calling for a tow, sitting on I80, I had my own shop and didnt want American Auto doing the work. Within Hours I forwarded the quote and told my insurance company, I didnt agree with the quote they sent (7/31/19 by Scott from American) and would be sending my GWagon to Diamond Autosport in Sacramento. My deductible is 1K and 2K is what American Auto had charged me for customer responsibility plus my deductible, each priced at 1K. On the quote that was emailed to me it has a space to agree to the terms and start the process. I never once agreed. And sent it to my insurance company for clarification. Now today, 8/5/19 they wont release my GWagon because they are claiming cost for a breakdown. Since 0930am, Ive been waiting for the tow truck to pick up my GWagon to take it to my designated place for repairs. American Autobody refuses to release my truck till they get paid for a tear down/inspection. My insurance company did agree to pay for a tear down since it needs to be done and are honoring positive customer service in my behalf. However, American Autobody has NOT provided proof of the tear down with pictures to my insurance company. So my company wont agree to pay them and my GWagon is being held hostage by American Autobody in the meantime. The time is now 302pm and no pictures have been sent to my insurance company. American Autobody, doesnt promote honesty, positive customer service, nor do they care for there customers wellbeing (having a customer agree to any added terms but releasing there vehicle at a time of distress is misleading and a scam) and they fail with communication!!! If the tear down had been done, pictures wouldve been sent hours ago. Still no pictures, I could only imagine why no pictures have been provided. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!

Worst AutoBody Shop in the World. I was involved in a small fender bender on June 10th. My insurance company told me to go to this shop. The shop said it would take 3 to 4 days to fix my car. I was told 2 times during 3 weeks that my car was complete and ready to pickup. One time I went to pickup the car to found the paint job they did looked rippled, gas cap door not opening correctly and the backup parking assist not connected to the rear bumper. Scott the person incharge of my car said the paint is called Orange Peel Affect and that he didnt realize the parking assist wasnt installed in the bumper. I called and asked to talk to the owner of the company, I complained ablout Scott and the service I was getting. I was given a rental car at that time and was told he would look into it and take care of it. Scott called a 3rd time saying my car was ready, I went to pickup the car and the park assist still not installed in the rear bumper and the stearing wheel was about a 30% off alinement. Scott handed me a bouquet of flowers and said this is for your trouble. If my husband picked up my car, do you think Scott would give him flowers? I just wanted my car fixed. I took my unfixed car and left upset and mad. Then Scott called after the weekend and said he would send someone to pickup my car, to fix the parking assist and the stearing wheel alinement. About 2 hours last they returned my car and guess what, they didnt fix the steering alinement. The person who delivered my car called Scott and Scott said he forgot to tell them to fit the stearing alinement. Im not sure why anyone would hire or keep a person that is so incompetent and as for the owner to this company, you failed to follow throught. I do not recommend this company.
