Those breakfast sandwiches made with homemade biscuits are to die for! And the brownie tasted amazing for breakfast too 🀩 Also had some friends over during the week, and the coffee beans were gone so fast πŸ˜‚ usually it takes me a month to go through a bag but my friends couldn’t stop drinking it!

Today was my first time coming here, probably since the beginning of 2020, and I was happy to see that there is more seating than there was before! I usually go just for a cappuccino, and their cappuccino is very good, but their lattes are very good too. I also really like their lavender latte when they have it!

Rare Bird has always had a nice vibe and it’s definitely gotten better over the last year. They’ve expanded, and now have a ton of additional seating space, both inside and out, plus a nice area for their roasting. Their food options have expanded but I haven’t tried too many of them. Looks like they have primarily small snacky pasties. I tried the chocolate chip cookie once and I don’t remember hating it ... or loving it. But they are primarily a COFFEE shop so that is why I visit. Their coffee is def the star of the show. If you like a good latte, I can def recommend theirs. Looks like they use local milk in glass bottles - which is a good sign to me. I feel like they def have a quality product. Nice staff!

My fave coffee shop in nova! I love both their classics and their seasonal items. Staff are always friendly and can often be seen roasting beans in house. They also have some cute gear you can buy too. Im lucky to be able to live close enough to drop by whenever I want! Looking forward to seeing the new space completed!

This is truly five stars. Im pretty loose and free with my stars, and the downside is that when you come across something thats really extraordinary you need seven or eight stars for it. The coffee here was made with care and it was really delicious. The decor is light and airy and the place is filled with wonderful plants. But the main thing is the coffee is amazing.

Excellent coffee roastery in Falls Church. The vanilla cardamom latte was the carda-bomb. I ordered online for pickup while I was sitting in my car, and it was ready before I got to the door - excellent service! Extremely polite, diligent, and great adherence to pandemic protocols although I’ll be excited to sit in when fully reopened. When we’re back in the area, we’ll be sure to stop by!

Excellent local roaster! This review is just for the people and their coffee beans. Price for a bag of coffee is high but probably comparable to other local roaster prices. The cost is worth it as the flavor and aromas are so much better than anything store bought. I usually go with the Birdie Blend which is delicious. The people who work here are very kind and provide excellent service. Would definitely recommend!

Rare Bird has been a favorite of mine for years. Their coffee is consistently some of the best around, and their service is amazing. My brother and I visited when we were town. What makes Rare Bird live up to its name (a rare find), is in what they provide and promote. What stood out to me is their focus and promotion of what they call β€œsecond chance plants”. For the longest time in my experience with plants, my environment never exposed me or taught me more than growing from seeds. It wasn’t until about a year ago that I learned of other methods vegetables have for providing us with sustenance. Enter β€œsecond chance plants”...using stems from living plants. (Last Spring, I used parsley stems to grow more from my herb). In my 40 years on this great planet Earth, I’ve never come across a locally owned establishment (outside of farming) that has promoted the depth and riches of vegetables that are the plain site.Thank you, Rare Bird, for promoting and encouraging folks like myself to go deeper with their relationship with plants.

A sweet little coffee shop displaying their roaster by the window. Immediately youll notice the place is pretty narrow and all the tables are occupied with people on laptops (a few were there with their sandwiches and coffee), so we took our order to go. No outdoor seating. The decor is a little industrial, slightly rustic but reminiscent of an art studio, in my opinion. The back wall displays their merch. The staff and service was great--friendly, attentive and helpful. I got the Vanilla Latte which was pretty good. They even sell their own beans here, too! Id recommend you check it out if youre in the area.

First of all it was nice trying this place. But the place does not have too many tables. You may not always find good seating if you are planning to do your work in the cafe. They have different coffee options, their special Cardimom latte was pretty good, I think everyone must try it. But their sandwiches are expensive and overpriced. It would make more sense if the sandwiches were a little bit cheaper, because they were not that special.

Youll pay the price for a premium cup of coffee, but it is deliciously premium. This cute spot is a favorite of mine, and is one of the reasons I love venturing to falls church every Saturday morning. They have all the milks including oat, and their beans are top notch. Their basic oat milk latte is my favorite, but their cardamom vanilla latte is a close second. Grab a cup and sit outside, and if their tables are taken walk over a block to the tiny park with lots of seating.

Really enjoyed this coffee shop! Coffee was great - I had one of the speciality drinks (I believe honey lavender latte) as well as a sandwich (spicy veggie). Both delicious. Also really love the vibes inside the shop. Lots of open space, light and green! They even sell some of the plants that are in the space I believe.Only thing I had trouble with was finding the shop initially, as I’d never been before. The parking lot is to the back of the plaza and you can see most of the other shop’s and restaurant’s signs, but Rare Bird is really tucked away in the corner a bit. Either way, I found it and happy I did!#rarebirdcoffee #cafΓ© #coffee #goodvibes

Rare Bird is one of my favorite local spots. It is very close to the Northside Social, but I think it is worth your time to deviate from your path to stop in.The coffee is roasted there, and it is delicious. The staff are great and there are fun little toys if you have a kiddo in tow. The one concern is seating. Its very popular! If you go at normal times, you may have to wait for a table to open up. Alternatively, you can stop in for a coffee and then walk the little city. The picture was an amazing baklava

Rare Bird has been my goto coffee spot for several years. They helped select the perfect grinder and coffee maker for home use. Since COVID, Ive continued to order weekly and they have convenient home delivery. While I miss the ambiance of the in-store experience, my Rare Bird coffee has offered comfort at home during social distancing. My favorites are 1/2 Birdie Blend and 1/2 Decaf. I use the ratios and grind options they recommend and it tastes almost at good as it does in the store.

I am really glad I had time to stop here. The ambiance is simple and even at 8:30 on a Saturday, this place is packed! I had a cappuccino; their espresso is good, kinda fruity with just a hint of bitterness, there wasn’t as much foam as I would have liked, but it was good nonetheless.Seating is a little sparse, but there really isn’t much room to add more. They have some tables outside also.I would definitely come back.

I want to love this place! I go often after the farmers market, and the staff is just not pleasant. No personality. Do they not dig the post-market push?I like a dark roast so usually go for a short Americana, but they almost always water it down. Really enjoyed it... Thought they could focus on the experience a tiny bit more. Im not usually a fan of places with signage commanding people where to put things and not put things. Dishes were really scratched up. Coffee was excellent, they pull a good shot, cleaner than most anywhere. Just a touch more comfort and style and I would have stayed and spent more. If they would have checked on me while I was there 90 minutes and made a suggestive sale I would have bought another drink, they knew I was from out of town, they could have shared some of their story and beans and I likely would have walked out with $100+ in beans for my $6K home machine.

Top notch coffee and baked goods, if a tad over-priced. Good ambience, but suffers from a small number of tables that are not efficient for the space (several four person tables frequently long-occupied by solo laptop users).
