I had wrongly thought Washington Diamond was pricer than other diamond stores; they are not. From the moment my husband and I met with Tom, we were put at ease. The project we were working on was a complete reset to a diamond which included hard to find shield cut diamonds and a custom made band that had several requirements. Tom immediately had sources to call and stones for us to see the next day. Mind you, these are not stones that are readily available in the market - even for jewelers. He also went to work on designing a custom setting and had his goldsmiths work on the most perfect ring which fits beautifully against my entity band. Tom and his team included small, personal details which make this piece very heartfelt and stand out. I worked with Tom to create a custom ring. Through the whole process the customer service couldnt have been better and by all accounts the ring came out perfect and was the exact design requested. In particular, you could tell that the ring was built more sturdy than normal and Washington Diamond took pride in the work.

Extremely unfriendly, took weeks just to set a simple diamond. When I got it back it blatantly wasn’t set right. The receptionist and jewelers tried to make me feel bad saying they are the best jewelers in the area. When they did set it the second time it was still shaky and not set completely. Will definitely not recommend to any of my friends or family. Very unfortunate.

I walked into Washington Diamond to get a general feel of a ring, but that same day I picked out the ring I used to propose. I am a complete amateur at all things jewelry, so finding an engagement ring proved daunting. I visited three local jewelers. The first was a complete disaster. I had a terrific experience working with Tom and his team at Washington Diamond to find the perfect engagement ring. After visiting some fancy downtown DC jewelers, I was disappointed with their selection and the flexibility to create a unique piece. My experience at Washington Diamond couldnt have been better and I was thrilled that Tom could give great advice (I really didnt have much direction) without making me feel pressured. We ended up modifying one of the rings they had in stock to make exactly what I wanted. Everything was done in less than two weeks, completed well within my budget and the quality of the craftsmanship was superb.

My fiancée and I began our search for an engagement ring at Washington Diamond and it pretty much ended there as well. While we had initially intended to visit several different jewelers in the DC region, Washington Diamond quickly impressed us with their selection, pricing, customer service, and friendliness. I am very happy that I found Washington Diamond when looking for engagement rings. Their staff displayed a level of customer service that I rarely get to experience. As a first time buyer of diamonds, Tom took the time to educate me on what to look for in the perfect diamond and patiently showed a variety of examples. What I really appreciated was the stores lack of pretension, and that I never felt pressured to buy a diamond even after they spent an hour showing me rings.There emphasis on ensuring that I received the perfect ring was evidenced when they modified part of the ring I ultimately chose to match another ring that I liked, free of charge. There craftsmanship is excellent, and there prices are better than any other brick-and-mortar store that I visited.Not only did I find the perfect engagement ring, I went back to Washington Diamond for both wedding bands and two diamond bangles. The bangles were less expensive than what I found on any online jewelry store for the equivalent quality. I would gladly recommend this store to anyone in the market for any quality piece of jewelry. Fantastic service, Walter was great. Work is done on site and quickly. It is by appointment only, but this allows them to give you plenty of one-on-one attention, without having to look over another customers shoulders to see the jewelry. Walter felt more honest than some of the other jewelers in the area Ive talked to... hes not just trying to make the sale at all costs like other salespeople I had met with. He simply gives the best honest service, which sells itself. Evening hours are convenient.

I went Washington Diamond because I wanted the best for my fiancée and I knew they would have a great selection of diamonds to choose from! My brother-in-law purchased there first, followed by two other friends of mine. I randomly got paired with Walter upon scheduling my first visit. Immediately after the visit (yes it took me 4 to decide!), I knew I was in good hands. Walter educated me on every facet with respect to diamonds, and he was respectful of my budget (which you always go over!). We also realized that we had about 8 degrees of separation, so it made the whole buying process much more personal. If I could sum up my experience in a word it would be personal!This is the single biggest cash purchase you will make, next to a down payment on a house, and I couldnt have been happier with the customer service experience. Walter answered all my questions and demonstrated expert knowledge and Ryan is very friendly and made sure that I received the appraisals, the best deals/sales, and assisted with scheduling appointments. Their hours are similar to bankers hours and it is required that an appointment is scheduled.
