This distillery was definitely off the beaten path. We went in and met Marc. He took us into the back and explained and showed us the distillery. He was very informative and answered all our questions. We then went and tasted the moonshine. Everything was really good and we bought five bottles. We had a great time there.

Visited Straw Hat from out of state, and wasn’t quite sure I had found the right place due to its location off the beaten path. We walked in to a tasting room that was a little unorthodox, greeted by a polite dog that was perhaps the best behaved dog I’ve ever met. I would say that I would honestly enjoy drinking all but one or two of the varieties offered here. The distillers are uncompromisingly in their pursuit of perfection and their products certainly demonstrate it.I enjoyed almost everything we tasted, but loved the Coffee Moonshine and Lemon Drop Moonshine.

Enjoyed the moonshine tasting experience. I learned of this opportunity through googling Florence, and the distillery was listed as one of the main attractions for the area. This suggestion didn’t disappoint. The flavored moonshine was great and so was the owner’s hospitality.

Not only is the tour and information amazing, but who be knew moonshine tasted so good! Friendly, clean, fun! Remember to get a flask,shot glass, and a t-shirt when you get your straw hat!

If you like flavored moonshines, this is a place you dont want to miss. They had several flavors, including blueberry, blackberry, coffee, and lemon. Also appreciated they use real fruits, berries, coffee beans to flavor their products and not artificial or juices. Ended up buying one of everything! May not look like much from the outside, but the inside is very nicely finished.

Great group of guys. Ive brought 3 of my friends there for a tour and a tasting, always left with a bottle of moonshine under my arm. They make the best in the area. Definitely worth a visit there, they are always friendly.

The Cherry Bombs are the bomb and the lemon drop is quite nice.

Tour and tasting with Mark was geat!He gave us the facts of the distillation process.He explained the difference in corn and sugar alcohol.Serious,and professional but cuts up, enjoys what he does.We left with four quarts of purchased alcoholic beverages.I particularly liked the red raspberry and the Lemondrop with lower alcohol content of 20% /40 proof ...Like drinking sweet kool aid!The fellas liked the 90 proof Moonshine, and the 101 proof Rum.There is likely a flavor that for you.I recommend you check them out.While licensed, this is a small,hobby sized distillery.

Was good to share someones passion. Meeting the owner and having him show us around the ins and outs of whiskey/moonshine was very interesting. The tastings were next and the ideas behind the flavors flowed along with the shots. We even were privy to a spicy work in progress! They have a gift shop and fun decor. Thanks to a Groupon offer for helping us find this hidden treasure of local artistry!
