This place is pretty awesome, Im not sure if its a chain company or not but it feels like a small local mom and pops coffee shop. Id recommend trying the Iced Bees Knees coffee. Its light, not too sweet and amazingly delicious! I mean you cant go wrong with honey in coffee :) the service was good and kind. Its definitely a place Ill be coming back when Im in the area!
Easily the worst cup of plain black coffee Ive ever had. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their drinks and snacks though
Really cute place! It has a sleek, Scandinavian lol but also very hygge. Coffee is excellent and they have a nice selection of toast, breakfast wraps, and pastries.
Wonderful coffee shop with unique creative drinks.
We regularly get the latter and breakfast wraps. Very good service.
Very friendly staff. Great coffee. This place is slightly expensive but worth every penny
Convenient spot for coffee while waiting on car repairs nearby. There are tables outside for those seeking a covid safe cafe experience.
Folsom needs more shops like Argos. Such a cool, chill spot to come in, get some coffee and hang out on a weekend morning. The bubble waffles are what attracted us but we also love coffee so its the perfect spot. My husband and I tried the Bees Knees & the Sunny Day latte and they were fantastic. The banana walnut bubble waffle is good too but the aloha bubble waffle tops it with the coconut syrup. 👌
Great local coffee spot with outdoor seating. Americanos are excellent, and many fun choices on the menu I havent tried yet.
Beans are fresh roasted, but ridiculously expensive, not that good, and staff misled me on price. There is no price board, so I asked how much for a pound of Sumatra and they said $17. They charged me, then handed me a 12 oz. bag. When I asked they explained confidently (wrongly) that 12 oz was the industry standard. Wrong. Thats the grocery store standard. Peets will sell how ever many ounces you want up to the limit of the bag, 18 oz. Starbucks sells by the pound. Also, I clearly asked for the pound price. So their fresh beans were $23/lb, a full 35% higher than Peets. And the staff were confidently clueless. I am a coffee nut, and their beans were no better than Starbucks. Not going back.
This coffee shop was suggested to me by my friend. Four of us met here prior to helping my friend move. The interior is very inviting. The windows allowed ample natural lighting and provided a beautiful contrast to the warm colors inside. I ordered a latte and a veggie wrap. Unfortunately the latte was bitter. I went back and advised and I was graciously received. They offered to make the same drink but I decided to order a honey lavender latte instead. Both the veggie wrap and latte were wonderful. So wonderful was the veggie wrap that one of my friend’s opted to eat half. 😁 She did share half her avocado toast and it was quite tasty. The bread was thick - soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. They were also generous with the avocado. I forgot to ask what bread they use for their toast but maybe next time. If you elect to take a trip to Folsom, I would strongly recommend stopping here.
First off, and most importantly, the coffee here is excellent. On top of that the service and general energy of Argos is super and fun. Really highly recommend. (Its also a great place to get some studying/work in, which is always a plus for me)
The coffee was outstanding. We had the Bees Knees Latte and Rose White Chocolate Latte. Absolutely amazing. Definitely go here.
Best coffee shop in town. Their coffee is delicious on their own but they also make their own unique flavors of syrups for specialty drinks. Highly recommend!
Great for those who appreciate coffee! They had a single origin, medium roast on drip, and four different pour over options. The California toast was also a delicious snack!
My favorite local coffee shop! The gals that run this place are the best, and I love how they roast their delicious coffee in-house (you can see their roaster and beans on display). Im forever a fan of their honey lavender latte! Dog-friendly patio and treats available for your fur babies too!
I am extremely disappointed in Argos Caffe. This is the absolutely worst customer service that I have received in a very long time - actually, probably ever. Due to COVID, I make special efforts to support small businesses so when I saw Argos across from Starbucks, I specifically chose to go to Argos. I drove to the parking lot and although it didnt look open, I walked around to the side as directed by the signage and asked the lady who was working if they were open. She said (shortly) that they were open and harshly asked what I wanted. I needed a moment to review the menu because I had never been there before. I asked a couple of questions regarding the menu, which she answered although seemed annoyed by my questions. I ordered my drink, which she made, and then I actually ordered one additional drink for a coworker. She made the drink but huffed about it. I had asked her how business was and if it was slow and again, she huffily responded. I explained to her that I do my best to support small businesses due to COVID. No response. Finally, she finished the 2nd drink and told me my total at the same time I got another text message from a coworker asking for one more drink. There was not a single other person in the caffe the entire time I was there. I asked her for one more drink and she huffily exclaimed ARE YOU KIDDING ME, to which I playfully responded (because I thought she was joking - surely nobody would be that rude?) Well, at least its more business for you!! and she responded well, I dont want it like this...........Whats the third drink? I was absolutely shocked. I told her to forget the third drink - paid for the first two, and then went across the street to Starbucks for the remaining drink. I am in complete shock over the treatment and attitude received. I will never visit Argos again and I will never recommend it !!! Coffee Republic is a short distance away on Auburn Folsom and their service could NOT be better!!
Great tea great veggie wrap
All I can say is wow!I wanted to deduct a star because as of right now they only server very basic foods like oatmeal and pastries, and then I remember exactly how good the coffee is. The beans are of a choice quality, roasted in house and prepared with a high level of skill - come here for the coffee! Order something simple that will highlight its flavors and you will not be disappointed!
Nice place.. excellent service. Yummier snacks. Better than Starbucks :)
They forgot one of two orders and managed to make 2 other drinks for customers that just walked in. Im only rating this because it was my first visit and Im big on first impressions with local cafés, I do my part to support them. Furthermore, it wasnt so busy and yet dirty cups and plates were on the table for a long period of time rather than cleaning up to allow for others to use.
Great little coffee shop! They have diverse and unique options which is nice for people like me who have a strict dietary regime. Lori is very sweet!
Ordered the honey lavender latte, absolutely amazing! Met the owner and he was so nice. Voluntaringly re-made our drink in our group because he wasn’t satisfied with it (even though we thought it was delicious). Love the ambience.
A vanilla latte thatll knock your socks off. Great coffee, yummy toast - they know what theyre doing. Its our favorite weekend morning spot - We like to bring our dog, Ollie, and sit outside and enjoy our drinks. I recommend their avocado toast, too. Ollie and I think its delicious! Were very happy to see them grow and wish them continued success.
New favorite local coffee house. The beans are phenomenal. I love the Ethiopian most but the Lakeside Blend has such a full, smokey body it makes a good mid day coffee. Everyone is very friendly and the place just has a good vibe.
Their coffee is very good, forget Starbucks, this place serves real coffee. The batista is young, but dont judge the drink by how young he looks :)Think its local run shop, so its the more you should give it a chance.Friendly, spacious... you could have your drinks and do your homework there.Big thumbs up ☝️
Nice clean spot. Quiet relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Nice space with lots of windows, so it feels bright and open. Everything was clean and inviting, and the service was quick.I ordered the peppermint mocha, and it was a fine mocha but didnt really taste of peppermint. Ill have to see how my next drink is.
A charming cafe with eight tables, comfortable chairs, and a bar and outdoor tables for additional seating. The prices are decent, coffee and baked goods are good (I had the pumpkin chocolate muffin), and the vibe both social and efficient. Its a mix of people on computers working and people engaged in good discussion.Coming in on a busy weekday afternoon, the barista worked tirelessly to tend to the line, making delicious coffee, and work efficiently - and kindly. The day must have been like that afternoon - incredibly busy - and every thing I tried to order was out (decaf coffee, sandwiches, wraps, etc.), but the barista helped me find something suitable.
It is a coffee specialty shop. If you are looking for different flavors of coffee.. this is the place.
Argos is an adorably cute coffee shop that puts Starbucks and Peets to shame. The plants are great, the drinks are better.
I had an AMAZING vanilla latte. Excellent ingredients and service. A clean friendly environment. Cant wait to try more.
I absolutely love this place. Great coffee drinks, great staff. They keep me powered all during the workweek.
I was thoroughly impressed with that matcha waffle - wowza. And great coffee to boot.
Great coffee and tea. Not a ton of misfit teens like Starbucks. Grind their own coffee. Honey Lavender Latte is amazing
Beautiful place. Very clean. Friendly staff. Coffee was great. And they didnt seem to mind one bit that my friend and I stayed and chatted for almost 4 hours!
Great coffee and even better espresso beverages. Friendly staff. Nice decor. Great for studying/working.
Best place in Folsom to have a coffee. The Mexican Mocha is a masterpiece. Great owners and baristas. Very good music selection. Love it!
Arguably the best coffee roaster in town . . . that being said they are the only specialty roaster so far. Argos is worth the visit and they produce a variety of medium roast speciality coffees that will not disappoint.I was however disappointed by the baristas serving and was amazed at their lack of knowledge and care for the product being sold. When asking what single origin I should try they replied They are all medium so they taste the same. I hope to see some development in the staff but am happy to note that any engagements I have had with the owners is a fine representation of the passion that goes into this tasty specialty coffee.
Great friendly service and coffee... My blended coffee was delicious.
Pour overs are delicious.Almond Milk Latte - delicious. The Honey Lavender Latte is my favorite!!!!Customer service is excellent. Plenty of seating and free wifi.Milk alternatives are soy and almond.
This is one of the better coffee shops around. I feel that the coffee is not strong enough for me so I go for two extra shots but that is just my opinion. They do offer options in tea but that is something I dont have the taste for.
Great coffee in ceramic cups if you stay in shop. All dairy alternatives available. Peaceful atmosphere.
Awesome place..owner is extremely friendly...actually cares about what he does. They roast their own beans...make their own chocolate. Very good coffee.
Very nice cortado, very good cappuccino. good staff. nice seating area, also outdoor. 2 restrooms. free parking
Love this place! Great coffee and the California toast is INSANE!
My son, the coffee connoisseur, says this is the place to go for fresh roasted coffee. Friendly helpful staff.
Excellent coffee, helpful staff, and clean. Few more comfy chairs???:)
Fantastic coffee, the staff was friendly and great to talk to. Very nice place!!!
Coffee is ok. Had better coffee in other shops
I dont usually post reviews, but this place is amazing! They make a lot of their own ingredients, and roast their own coffee beans. My new favorite place for coffee!
Nice ambience, courteous service and moderate rates will definitely invite more and more customers 👍 Good Luck 👌
Great fast service. Coffee was excellent. Barista was hot and had awesome vibrant personality.
Taste of the coffee is so unique. The ambiance is great and the smell of coffee in the store gives a very good feeling..
Cool place. Iced Americano with espresso beans roasted just three days ago. Nice!
Nice relaxing coffee cafe that roasts its own coffee.
The best chai tea latte Ive ever had
I love this place! Light and bright, locally owned coffee joint. Friendly staff, great coffee.
My favorite place for a coffee break in Folsom! Excellent coffee and the baristas are always friendly. I recommend a hot latte or iced Americano.
I love their Americano. They roast their beans on site. Great coffee.
Coffee makes me happy. A great place to have some works to.
Carefully perfect roast. So delicious!
Great home made syrups and local sourcing. Friendly and quality service.
So excited to have top notch coffee and pastries here in Folsom. Great location right off the bike trail, try starting a bike ride here.
Cortado ReviewThe Roast/Pour:Dark. Not like Peets or Starbucks dark, but definitely on the ashy side. Temperature was OK. Now heres the weird part, when they put down the drink it was pretty big. When I asked they said it was 6oz. I asked how big is the cappuccino, they said 8oz(!). Thats a big cortado (only beat by Covenant Coffee in Bakersfield), and unless their shots are 1.5oz, its an unusual ratio. (Lets say Ive been to a few cafes and at 95% of them a cortado is 4-4.5 ounces and a cappuccino is 6 oz.)Service:The barista on cashier duty was very friendly. The barista on bar was standoffish and definitely was not a good brand ambassador when I tried to talk to her about the coffee. It only went downhill from there when I asked about the sizing of the drinks.Ambiance:Clean and modern, it still has that third wave look but melded with standard cafe. Conclusion:The specialty coffee scene hasnt flourished yet in Folsom - Ill check out Kingdom Coffee next, but I think those are the only two. Argos very close to the outlet mall so I wouldnt be averse to returning, but Id call it Wave 2.5 instead of 3. If Im going with glass half full Id say its definitely better than Starbucks or Peets.About Me / Review Criteria:-I only check out / review Third Wave/specialty/craft coffee shops-Nobody gets more than 4 stars until Ive gone several times-Reviews cant be based on just a select group of baristas, they all have to be equally skilled, or at least must all have a minimum level of skill-My star ratings are solely based on the drink, never on food, ambiance, or if the barista is emo or snobby (because that would bring down more than 50% of the shops), although I do mention those in the review-I dont claim to be a trained coffee connoisseur-My reviews are generally based on gibraltar/cortados (or cappuccinos), not espresso or drip/pourover coffee
Great coffee! Friendly atmosphere. Other drinks, tea, etc. They roast coffee on site.Check them out.
Love the coffee here, you can actually taste the flavors of the coffees from different regions. So thankful this place is close by.
Nice spot that is different from the 2 main espresso chains. Free wifi.
Great coffee, roasted and brewed on site. Casual setting, easy to talk.
Mexican Mocha Artico, so, so good! Great tasting chocolate, plus a hint of spiciness. :D
They need larger washer cups, but its a very nice atmosphere and very pleasant and happy staff.
Great coffee, good service, nice atmosphere. What more do you need from a coffee place?
Cute place! Really nice staff, good coffee :)
Good service. Tasty cold brew, and holy hell is it strong.
Love the decor inside--simple and comfortable. And the coffee is wonderful.
Cool vibe. Friendly staff. Awesome coffee.DONE.
Lavender Lattes & Avo Toast - so yummy!! My favorite Folsom coffee shop!
Food was good service was okay.
Good coffee
Great coffee and lovely community atmosphere. The owner is a gentleman and regularly chats with customers while he roasts his signature coffee beans.
Good coffee & great service!
Good prices and smiling service.
Good drinks, but a little pricy for smaller sizes. They also close somewhat early.
A great place to relax and get a creat cup of coffee!
Good coffee and space, but somewhat limited food.
Just tried the new mexican chocolate mocha...yum
