I only rarely get to go here but they have more stuff in stock there anywhere Ive been in Madison even! The folks working there are really nice and knowledgeable, even if they will rib you a bit for not opening your packs in store for that vicarious rush ;-) and I know its unrelated, but Ive had some great pulls out of the packs Ive bought there.

An absolute gem of a shop! I came down from Madison on business and stopped by on a whim! Holly was attentive and kind as I took some time to pick out various products. An amazing selection of everything, will definitely come back someday!!

One stop for your game time hobbies, mix in a wonderful knowledge of different card games or figures. I find myself just running in hour later I still havent left. Need a gift??? Stop must stop in and enjoy the environment.

If games are your thing, this place has what you need. Tons of options to choose from.That said, if you are into comics, youll be disappointed. Theres slim pickings for newer releases. The back issues are a mess. Theyre sorted by publisher (Marvel / DC / Indy) but not by title. If theres something specific youre looking for, be sure to give yourself enough time to dig. Its kind of like a treasure hunt, so theres that. And at $1 / each, its worth a little effort.

Chimera Hobby Shoppe is the best place locally for anything it sells. I have made friends with the entire staff and they make actions to attempt to do so with you as well.

If you like board and card games, comics and/or models and miniatures: this is where you go. Staff is friendly and willing to answer questions. If youre an buying a gift for someone else, and youre unsure of what a particular items is one they would like, I would recommend asking for suggestions. If youre not familiar with a lot of these items its easy to buy something that might not be what you had in mind. While specific items can be found cheaper online, I dont mind spending a few extra dollars to keep niche stores like this open.

I discovered Chimera Hobby about 20 years ago (yes, theyve been around that long!), and hadnt shopped at the Fond du Lac store in almost 15 years. I stopped in a couple of months ago for the first time in a long time and was very impressed. They have an excellent selection of comics and gaming supplies for the hard core geek, and also board games that the family would love and even some educational toys and stuffed animals. I found the service to be excellent and while there are similarities between this and the Appleton store, each has a unique vibe. I remember as a kid I used to have my parents drag me out of town to find gaming stores since we didnt have one locally, this is the type of store that is worth traveling for. Highly recommended!

Back issues are randomly packed in boxes on a shelf in the back of the store. Dont expect help finding anything either because youre supposed to sort through their mess by yourself. The cashier would rather talk to friends about video games than help find anything so your best bet is to just order online.

I love this store, I really like puzzle games, and they have a variety of choices.

Very helpful. Very knowledgeable when I had questions about comics. Theyre great at holding items for you, and setting up a membership box for you. Great quality comics. They also have tournaments for Magic. Fridays I believe is the tournament day. There could be others, Im not totally sure since Im only there for comic books personally.

Wonderful place! If its one shop for all your trading card needs may it be tournament local, meet friends, or even buy the latest games comics and cards (Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Magic, vanguard, and even chaotic), this is the place to go. The shopkeepers are always friendly and ready to help with rulings in a card game or shopping. Make a point to travel there every Friday for Yu-Gi-Oh tournament and always left with nothing but the best dueling experience and a big smile along with a satisfied purchase! Thank you Chimera!

My son loves coming on Saturdays to play in their Pokemon League! The staff gets to know everyones names and are so nice! I bring work to do or a book and wait at Mancinos right next door. Fun winter activity to get out of the house!

Good staff friendly and highly knowledgable. There is a free game library where you can try some games bofore you buy. Tables to play games at. And on Saturday they have a game night with magic and a lot of other games. Hopefully I will see you there sometime.

You want friendly and knowledgeable guest service, you got it! Looking for a boardgame? You got it! Need to learn a rule for that particular role playing game? They know it! Role-playing games and adventures? Oh yeah, they have these too. And dice of all kinds (yes even Poker dice) and many other collectibles related to fanzine and geekdom!

By far the best place in fondy but i do wish there were more formats for magic since that is all i go there for. But i would still enjoy booster draft like always. Defiantly my favorite place to go on friday night to relax and crack some packs

Very cluttered. Front of store appears like nursery or a daycare with stuffed animals on the floor, toddlers toys, coloring books, etc. Countertops are piled with boxes on them and in front and behind the counter, leaving nearly no room for staff to walk. Boardgames are haphazardly oraganized and stick out for customers to get hooked on and knocked on the floors. Action figures located on an outside wall have infant toys shelved right next to adult Walking Dead zombie apocalypse figures (very inappropriate, owners must need mental help). Items on walls and pegs have layers of dust. Comic stands have strange arrangements and do not carrying full lines from publishers. Manga and graphic novels are somewhat organized but have large gaps making following a story from beginning to end not a possibility at this business. Staff was not friendly with one telling the other she was going to quit. Back of store has large room with tables for gaming, but tables are covered in cardboard and debris along with obvious spill stains on clear spots and also on the floors. A terrible experience.

Cluttered. no model paints like testors or createx. when i think Hobby Shop, i think of model kits, airplane kits, model rockets, trains, RC Cars, etc. they have none of it. Should be called comics and figurine store. my opinion..
