Computer went in broken and came out broken in a different way. When confronted about this they were unprofessional. Im sure the five star reviews are real but I didnt get five star service.
I was in Ft Collins for work and my Mac died, Randy was a life saver! They were quick to troubleshoot and fix my issue and get me on my way. Honest and affordable. Highly recommend!
Great Mac repair company!! Ive never bought anything from them, but their tech support always comes through, both on phone calls, in person and with repairs and upgrades. I cant recommend them highly enough. I just spoke with Collin and he was friendly, helpful, great attitude and gave me a detailed and excellent consultation on purchasing a new Ipad and, more importantly, on how to deal with a program no longer functioning on Catalina and how to set up an external boot disc with Mojave or lower. Im so grateful for the team at the Mac Shack. My older MacBook Air died suddenly late last year and I wasnt sure if the technicians could save any of my data and files. They were completely upfront about the options and potential cost, and I crossed my fingers. Fortunately for me, they were able to download all of my data and files onto an external hard drive ... and I was so relieved. They do really great work at the Mac Shack.

One star for customer service. The help I received upon purchase was mediocre but when a manager offers less than acceptable service on a machine I bought from them, I could do nothing more than just walk out and leave them with the hunk of junk they sold me to begin with. Will not buy from them again after 8 years of shopping there, I can live without the shenanigans thanks.

I cant even explain how grateful I am for the team at Mac Shack, especially Collin Tod. I have been through so many odd software issues with my phone and the team at Mac Shack are the ONLY ones that truly did everything in their power to help. Apple Support is one of the worst support centers I have ever talked to (still surprised about that), so thank goodness the Mac Shack was right down the road from my work. Although the issues with my phone where complicated and they were not able to solve the issues immediately, they made sure they put me as a priority util my phone issues were resolved. Collin kept in constant contact with me for over a week until my phone was functioning. I highly recommend anyone with any apple issues to go straight to Mac Shack and ask for Collin!
Very poor experience. Had to go in multiple times after they messed up my microphone when replacing a battery and refuse to take accountability. All I got was Kurt telling me to go to the apple store and refused any ownership of the issues. Beware of this business as they will charge you an arm & leg and leave you hanging.
Great company with great staff. They were busy with customers and made sure to address that they’d be with me as soon as they could. I didn’t have an appointment but they did offer to give me a minute of their time and helped me with an adapter issue I was having with my Mac within minutes. I offered to pay for the quick help and answer but they didn’t accept a payment. Going to recommend this place. I always love supporting local business.
This shop always does a good job in repairing all of my apple systems. They are prompt, and they let you know if you are going to be spending any more money on the repair instead of just surprising you when you pick it up. (*Cough, Best Buy) I will continue to use this place for all my apple repairs.
I had a few problems with the Mac Shack in Fort Collins, today to have my iphone battery replaced. Working with Apple web site, listing the price to replace my battery as $49 total, I set up a time to have the battery replaced. At the store they told me the cost was $80 (or 60% more). I told them it was $49 on the apple website. The employee talked to the manger and said that there was small print on the apple website that preferred business (not apple) could charge more. Who reads that fine print? Ok, so they are correct and I owe them 60% more, but fine print is just that, fine print.I asked for a discount on labor, and got no answer from the manager (behind a door). I could brush that off, but then in signing the order they also said the didnt guarantee same day turn-around, for my phone (which I NEED for so many reasons, and which takes a quick time to fix, and with a preset appointment).I had called them a few weeks ago and they said that they couldnt guarantee a same day turnaround for walk-ins, but an appointment would guarantee a same day turnaround. So I dutifully set up an appointment through the website (which advertises $49 battery replacement.)Too bad, they seem like a good outfit. But the taste was kind-of bitter. Ill prefer to go to the apple store (boulder), where service is guaranteed without fine print. Also, these errors were easily fixed and avoided (sometimes you get a lemon unit, but this was a service issue, not the random lemon repair or fix).
I’ve never been more insulted at a retail establishment. I brought my computer in for repair. They “fixed” it enough to last almost two month. My computer broke with the same issue two business days before I start school. (I say business day because this retail store isn’t open on the weekend for whatever reason). They then proceeded to offer me no help or advice unless I paid them an additional $90 diagnosis fee. When I reiterated that I’m a broke student (COVID eliminated my industry), the GM then mocked me saying that they don’t just give away things for free. When I asked again he then proceeded to mock me further wishing me a “real great day” as I left to start school with no computer because they couldn’t fix the original problem.They seem to not only care nothing about their customers, they seem to really get off on making fun of the ones that are particularly in rough shape.I literally never step foot in this place again. I guess when you’re the only Mac repair store in Northern Colorado you can treat your customers however you’d like.
So I scheduled a appointment through apple to get a battery replaced at this location. After my first review, the owner called to understand why i left the review i did prior to this change so he could make a improvement. My original service scheduled was canceled according to apple, and my parts warranty does not show through apples records. According to the owner who contacted me, i was supposed to get a email prior to service from his store explaining the process which may or may not have made things easier. I was without a phone the whole time, which apparently may not have been necessary. Supposedly the store offers a rentable phone for a charge, which i believe should just be done without a charge. Apple makes it extremely difficult to find warranty information on new batteries, i first read apples policy as one year, but turns out its 90 days for parts and workmanship If how i read it is correct. This store offers 90 days for battery but 30 days for labor. I will give this store one more chance, if ever needed, since the owner called to improve his business. I still had a bad experience, due to not knowing i would have to leave my phone there, stated it verbally to the person that was working with me at the store, and was not notified at that time either about a possible phone rental, which made knowing when service was completed. Both the owner, and who i talked to for service, were polite to me.
I recently brought in my 2011 Mac Book Pro that was in pretty bad shape- it was slow, not charging and had quite a bit of water damage. The team at Mac Shack was so helpful explaining the process of restoring my laptop to me and in the end had my computer running as well as when I first got it. Every penny I spent was worth getting my computer in such great shape.*They also were very courteous and diligent with COVID precautions in the store!

I had an awful experience here in 2020 getting my macbook pro serviced. The people who were getting their phone repaired at the same time were surprised with extra charges, and the manager was so rude to them. The service people rolled their eyes at my questions, and overall I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Go to an Apple store instead.

Big change from my original review...The staff at the Fort Collins location have been very helpful in working through what eventually became the replacement of my iPhone and also coordinating a way to experience minimal down time with my MacBook. As a business owner depending on both of these as my life line this outside of the box approach is ridiculously helpful!.....and lets not forget that with both devices I would have spent hours on the road to and from Boulder! I have been using this location for a number of years but especially in the last few months I have noted how excellent the services and personnel are. We have been working with Collin who is kind (I stress that as one who is not tech savvy AT ALL) and smart and efficient. He has not tried to get us to buy new products but when we did on our own, he was extremely helpful in assisting us. He helped me transfer data to my new computer, get Microsoft installed, and clear up any problems I was having.It is great to have this service available, to have staff that is present and professional as well as patient--and it strikes me that the other staff is all of these things as well. Collin I can recommend in a heartbeat. Thanks.
I brought my 2014 MacBook Pro in as the fan kept coming on and draining the battery. The technician (sorry, genius) ran some diagnostics, did some resets, and sent me home. Now the fan is no longer coming on and draining the battery. Wonderful service and they didnt charge me although I asked what I owed for this. Altogether he spent about 15 minutes but my laptop is working beautifully! Thank you so much!

Kurt and Randy helped not only fix a battery problem, but advocated for me to call Apple customer service so that I could have my entire display replaced for free. Colin and Andrew were great. I took my Macbook there that was dropped and the screen was no longer working. I paid the $89 diagnostic fee and Colin informed me that if there was minimal work they would let me know and charge me less. I got a call from Andrew and he was honest with me and let me know it was just a unattached cable. They partially refunded me and it was so appreciated that they didnt take advantage of me when in todays world it happens so often. I would highly recommend bringing your computer or phone here. They are good people.

The staff is friendly and incredibly quick! I sent my computer in on a Tuesday and got it back Thursday even though they said it would take 3-5 business days! They are also very knowledgeable and very willing to help you as best they can.
This afternoon right as I was about to send my boss an email (on deadline, no less) my MAX froze. It was 5:50pm and I ran up College Avenue and got in to the MAC Shack right before they closed at 6pm.In no time they addressed the problem and advised of the steps they had taken if it happened again.These guys are golden as I would have had to spend the evening in the library at their computers and as we are getting out a newspaper on deadline, my work would have exceeded the library hours of operation -- I am exceedingly grateful -- this is the second time they have helped me at the 11th hour -- if you have a MAC, they deserve your business.
These guys are awesome. I have been in here a few times with different computers and each time these guys exceed all expectations. Recently I brought in a MBP that wasn’t booting. I did some research on my own and quickly realized that this was not going to be something I could fix. I brought it in and CJ somehow got it working again. The man is a wizard. Another time I had my MBP keyboard replaced for free with no hassle. I work for a company that doesn’t have local IT support for macs so I am really, really glad that the Mac shack is in town.
My review from 2011 has been revised from 1 star to 5 stars. Heres why:1. In subsequent visits to the Mac Shack in 2012-14, theres been a significant improvement in service.2. Theres initiative on the part of the service employees to find the best solutions for the customer and helping them sort through the options.3. The needs of the customer are prioritized, and they do their best to go above and beyond to help meet deadlines.4. They are very communicative before, during, and after service has been given.5. Ive observed them being friendly and respectful with other customers, regardless of their level of experience, even if its operator error.At this time, I am changing my feedback from one that would recommend avoiding them, if possible, to recommending them for service - even when a warranty is not involved or required. They know their stuff, and will follow through on their promises.
Great service and employees. We were visiting from out of town when my iPad died. They ran diagnostics and identified the issue. Because it had to be mailed in they then located a store near our hometown who could do that when we returned home. All this at no charge! Highly recommend this business for locals and college students.
I breezed into Fort Collins for a one night stay and a wedding. On a lark, with very low confidence of any meaningful success, I decided to visit to the Mac Shack with a very old discarded Mac Air.The gentleman who helped me intently listened to my problem, was receptive and helpful with my questions, and agreed to take a look at it.Ten minutes later the problem was diagnosed and fixed. He went the extra step and ran a complete diagnostic, explained the results to me.I left very happy and well cared for.Great service, would recommend to anyone.

My experience with The Mac Shack was by far the best Ive ever gone through. I tried going through the bigger commercial stores and they would dance around my questions, not give straight answers so in the long run I would have to dig deeper in my pockets. NOT The Mac Shack. I dealt with Randy personally and he was honest, trustworthy, offered amazing customer service and truly one of those good people that seem to be disappearing from the business world. I will definitely be going back to The Mac Shack for any Apple products I buy in the future. BRAVO Mac Shack!

Mac Shack is amazing, their pricing is awesome, but most of all they can fix and repair your computers. We went to them over the past two years and they repaired out graphic card and our memory storage issue, as well as we bought a lap top from them. I recommend them to anyone!

Walked in for a quote to get my mac book upgraded and they gave me a thorough explanation of what i am going to need. I asked a lot of questions because i wanted to understand what modifications were going to effect my mac book. They did a great job explaining it by the way. I was told if I buy the parts from there that i wouldnt have to pay labor. I prepaid for the parts and was told i didnt need to get my data transferred. 9 days later was told my mac was ready for pick up. I went to go pick it up and one of the staff said i had to pay for labor. I explained to him that i was told that labor would be waived. He said that i still owe labor. I do not enjoy being told 2 things one bit. I prepaid so i dont have to pay later making me pay twice is some scandalous business move. Fool me once shame on you Mac shack
Highly recommend this store. Had a very bad experience & lost $70 at Simply Mac. Went to Mac Shack and they were able to diagnosis the problem, which the other store didnt do. Said it would be 3 days but ended up fixing my computer in 24 hours. The men that worked there were very polite, professional and knowledgeable. Will only be going there from now on!
Purchasing a MAC or related accessories is one thing. That can be done in many places equally well. What distinguishes The MAC Shack is the unequaled support. Over the past several years, I have gone to them multiple times with questions about my MAC. They are knowledgeable and prompt in answering questions and guiding me toward solutions...on the spot. They have never charged me for the times I have asked questions and gotten help. They are a unique business. For this alone, I would recommend everyone make their purchases there!

The customer service at the Mac Shack was excellent. Took my MacBook Pro in to get the hard drive replaced. They answered all my questions and replaced the hard drive within two days. They were extremely helpful and my computer is running better than ever! Best prices in town! I would recommend this business to a friend.
Every time I go in the staff is very helpful and responsive. With the high price of apple products I expect them to last a long time. Most of the time the products do. When there are problems or I have questions the Mac Shack is the first place I will go for excellent service.

Had a work Mac that had all kinds of issues (swollen battery, heatsink, etc.). Made an appointment with Apple through the Mac Shack and received excellent service and communication throughout the entire process. When they informed me they could not resolve all the issues, they backed up the required data and shipped off to Apple for repair. I received the machine back within a total of 3 business days and it was perfectly clean and ready to go. Will definitely be back.

I brought my mac in because some water had gotten on the keyboard. I was quoted 10-12 days and paid a $190 labor fee up front (did not include parts required). Three weeks later I still hadnt heard back so I gave them a call and they said it would be ready that night or Monday (I called on a Friday). I didnt hear from them Monday so I called back on Tuesday and asked about it again. They said they now had the part they needed and would call me when it was installed. They actually called me on Wednesday. Since getting it back the keyboard works fine, they said the only other problem was that the fan was running at full speed all the time. I havent noticed that but the headphone jack and camera are both not working and it says it cannot detect a camera.I would have given 1 star but when they called me they were friendly and the keyboard does work. Im just disappointed in general with the time span and lack of communication, especially for the price.
My experience with The Mac Shack has been engaging, incredibly professional and very easy. I have met a few of the young guys there (do any girls work on Macs???). I had to bring my iMac in due to ongoing issues and Apple Care suggested instead of the closest Apple Store (Boulder, CO) I could use The Mac Shack since they had one authorized Apple tech (Eric Pierce). Eric was incredibly professional and has a great way in discussing what he was doing for me. Hes knowledgeable and articulate. I have been extremely pleased with my connecting with The Mac Shack!

One of the gents here spent about 15 minutes telling me how to get my Mac out of a never ending update loop. He said no charge once we were done and wrote down the additional steps I needed, to do at home.At the same time another one of their people was helping an older couple make some decisions. This place is great. They’ve always solved my problems. The other day I brought in two iPhones that seemed to be having battery issues. They spent a long time checking both and explaining what was and wasn’t wrong with them. Then told me they didn’t charge for helping people. Wow!
I brought my Ipad Pro in at 2pm on a Saturday to be restored and IOS updated. CJ did a great job of getting me back up and working that day. He even stayed almost an hour past their closing time. Great customer service!
They were able to quickly and affordably remove some Malware from my computer. I was so thankful I wasnt going to be without my computer for a day because I had some projects I had to get done. Great service every time Ive been in there and it is great to support a smaller local company.

I had an issue recently with my Mac. I called for advice before driving to the store. The phone call was worth it but I had another issue that had to dealt with at the store. The tech on duty spent about 15 minutes, fixed the problem and didnt charge a dime for his time. The phone call to the store and the advice given was well worth it. I highly recommend this store for sales and outstanding service.
I had a question on upgrading software that I wanted to talk about. I called Simply Mac and got sent to a nation wide call number. I called Mac Shack and got a person. They helped me even though it did not even involve a purchase. Even though Simply Mac is closer to me, I am going to give my business to Mac Shack.
I am very pleased the Mac Shack! My computer was repaired for the price quoted and done when they said it would be done. The price was very fair and they were able to save all of my data! This is a quality business with knowledgeable and pleasant employees.
Eric Edwards helped me out with my Mac. He provided excellent service and didnt play any games when it came to the repair. The Mac store off of Harmony in Fort Collins told me it was going to cost me $700 for the repair. Eric got the job done for $49.99+ Uncle Sams fee. Overall an awesome experience and you should ask for Eric Edwards.
Giving a 3 because they were super helpful last year. Today I called...I spilled some water close to the keyboard of my laptop... might have gotten in..not sure. Guy says come in we will take a look at it. When I get there another guy tells me they can look at it but it will take 10 to 12 days. And wow, we have this used one much like yours we can sell you for $1800 and we can transfer your data. The whole thing felt like a bait and switch...dissapointing to say the least. And he was just not friendly or helpful.

Im happy for those who had a great experience with these guys…yes they are nice guys however they did the most STUPID thing ever and deleted all of my photographs! how devastating…they had no business doing that as they were transferring off another one of my computers to my new one that had the photos…they should have done a simple task and backed everything up before hand!…not only is this the professional thing to do, but it should be the obvious protocol and especially for them…so they over lapped and I lost everything! Sadly no matter how NICE they are they were irresponsible and took no precautions!

Service, knowledge and integrity—thats what youll receive at the Fort Collins Mac Shack, at no extra charge. Whether you need a tune-up (I went for that a few years ago), have a hard drive fail (I went because of that last year) or suddenly cant get iTunes to work, they can handle it. It seems like the more complex and unusual the problem is, the more delighted they are to solve it. Ive never seen frustration from any of them, even when I had been pulling my hair out trying to fix this last problem.Few businesses earn my total trust and respect these days, but these professionals have done exactly that. I had a problem with my experience at the shop. Randy, the owner of the shop, called me spontaneously after talking to his workers beforehand to figure out the issue, and offered great costumer service. It is definitely a rare experience that a business owner reaches out and shows you that he really cares about his customers.
These guys are awesome. Ive had my computer fixed twice now- once under Apple Care and once under Apples Extended Repair Program.The first time they were extremely friendly, helpful, and thorough. Without hesitation, they got my failing hard drive fixed. After that, they told me that my failing charger was still covered under the Apple Care program I had purchased for the MacBook and would replace it free of charge.The second time, my computer failed on me due to a hardware malfunction that Apple deemed a defect. I walked in expecting nothing because of my Apple Care being expired, but the gentlemen working at the front let me explain my issues and offered to do a free test to see if my computer qualified for the Apple MacBook Pro Repair Extension Program due to the qualifying manufacture date of the device. Once again, they had my computer functioning with a new logic board free of charge and no questions asked within only TWO DAYS!These guys are quick and reliable. Simply put, it beats the hell out of stepping into an official Apple Store, thats for sure. And they wont charge you $30 just to talk on the phone with a customer service representative either.Keep on doing what youre doing Mac Shack!

I went in there with a very simple problem, and had my time completely wasted. The Premium Service Provider I interacted with went back on his word multiple times during my frustrating 15-minute visit, and it was so abundantly clear from the moment that he couldnt correctly navigate the settings menu or tell an iPhone 5 from a 6s that I knew more than this Premium Service Provider. I was directed to this store from the Senior Advisor at Apple Support, and I honestly cant believe how pathetic the service was.

We called in because my father in laws iPad is locked to his account and were hoping to gain access. We were informed it was no problem would be 20$ or could be free due to the circumstance. We arrived to be greeted by a condescending and extremely rude individual who informed us you are hosed. I asked why Apple made this so complicated, was told no its not, you just need to remember passwords (insert condescending tone)! When dealing with people who have dealt with loss or hell the public in general, a little tact and kindness would be welcome. I personally am and will continue to be an Android user for sure after this.
Wow...what a great group of people at the Mac Shack. I have not had the pleasure of touching a Mac computer for ages, and unfortunately put in a disc on top of one already in place. I tried everything that was suggested to no avail..............so with closing time approaching, I was seen in a professional setting with a cheerful attitude, with smiles, and was told that I could get the help I needed to resolve my problem. They did it.............removed both discs, and were so kind as to help me out at NO CHARGE. When is the last time that any one got great service with a smile, and was not charged a dime???????? I give them all 5....no 100 gold stars. Thank You So Very Much!

These guys are great. Very professional and courteous to your Mac needs. When I brought in my MacBook Pro with a damaged disc drive, their staff (Steven, Marcus, and Eric) were all instrumental in getting me the right kind of equipment in order to get my Mac up and running again. Not only were they friendly and helpful, but they didnt complicate the issue by trying to sell me any unnecessary merchandise. They simply fixed the problem. Thanks again, guys.

Andrew at the Mac Shack was just tremendous! I was so worried about a virus attack and he calmly took control of my Macbook Air & sorted it out. So happy!!!
They were able to do full repairs to my MacBook and notified me about their diagnostic being complete within a couple days of dropping it off.
I was able to get a US BC to USB three adapter. Unfortunately we did not have a US BC to ethernet. Still a great place though
Im effectively unemployed without my computer, so I asked for rush service. I was charged less than the quoted value for an easy power short fix.. with a single day turnaround time! Thank you so much for great service! Would definitely recommend :)1 year update: Had a hard drive scare caused by a known recalled defect, went straight to these guys since they were so great with the power short before. They fixed it in a few hours. Cant recommend them enough - super nice and understanding people and extremely affordable. Keepin my 2012 macbook pro going strong!
Very friendly employees! My daughter broke her phone and this was the nearest location to to Cheyenne.
