15 Apr 2021: Evidently, my wife and I had the exact experience that Michael Carter was subject to 4 months ago. We had just finished a walk around the lake and had some errands to run. We were looking for dining room and foyer lights for our $750K home. Quality lights, not pretentious, and preferably made in the United States. We were immediately dubbed Tier 3 by every single employee--there were 5 employees. Not even a greeting, not one. A customer is a customer. Taking our business elsewhere. Dont bother, Jennifer.
I have worked on 3 homes with the light center. The service-- from picking out lights to install is unmatched in Fort Collins. I have worked with Jeanne now on two houses and her patience, kindness, frankness and taste have really helped guide me to creating a home that has wow and lasting quality.Even if Jeanne was not in the store when i came in, all the staff were helpful and willing to guide in the right direction. I had issues with lights that were installed and just did not give the vibe i was hoping for, they worked it out and helped me recover with adjustments.Brian, who does install, is also fantastic-- moving lights around to various locations, until we got just the right look!! Grateful for the people and service they provide
This is the ONLY place that I trust to work on my great grand Daddy Guys desk lamp. Every 4-5 years the switch just goes out. Im good with that.
Fixed two lamps for me - one antique. fast service with good price and good result. enjoyed store, too, some lovely and unusual pieces.
The Light Center is a fantastic store, and the staff provides expertise, talent, and excellent customer service. Many thanks to Carrie, Brian, and Drew for everything they did to beautify our home with a gorgeous chandelier .
Nice items, but the prices are for well to do people very very pricey. Dont get me wrong I like what they sell but unless you go in there to buy one item, it the millionaires club. ceiling fans 1800.00
Looking to replace all the lights in our home, including exterior. Was hoping to support a small local business and not have to drive all over Northern Colorado trying to accomplish our task. Walked around for a good 5 minutes before we got “a someone will be with you.” So we wait a bit more, after another 10 minutes or so we gave up and left. To be fair they never said how quickly someone would be with us, so maybe if we had waited another 20 minutes they might find some time to maybe see what we were interested in. Definitely felt like they prequalified us and determined that we weren’t “serious” buyers or worth their time.
Ive been illuminated. I went to the light. Next time Ill wear sunglasses. Hemingway talked about a clean well lit space. This is it!
Wow! We spent 3 hours with Jennifer and Carrie who helped us with everything from outdoor lighting to flush mounts to a chandelier for an entire house, and on an insurance claim budget! Incredibly helpful and patient.
They have a lot to choose from in regards to lighting. The owner knows all the specialty parts and is extremely helpful.

Shopping for light fixtures to spruce up my 15 year old house. Looked at other online stores, but try to shop local to help in these difficult times for business. Went to the website for the store, made a wish list, printed it and headed to the store.The good: Have a lot of interesting items in the showroom, and (as the only customer there on a Saturday morning) was approached by someone offering to help if needed, etc.The bad: After browsing the store, approached the previous sales person, showed her my print off of things I had on my wish list, none of which were in the store. The reply was We dont carry tier 3 items in the store. Sorry... and that was it. Not, Oh I like that one too. We dont have it in the store, but we can order it. Heres our return policy if its not exactly as you were expecting...Im not fitting a million dollar home with $2,000 chandeliers, Im sprucing up my $500K home a bit. Once I became a Tier 3 customer in her eyes, it didnt seem like there was much desire to help at all. No effort to show me anything that was in the store that was similar, no offer to help with an online order, look through catalogues, etc. She saw the prices on my wish list and apparently I didnt measure up.I guess Ill buy online after all...
Amended Review: What seemed like almost immediately after I posted this review, I received a phone call from Jennifer, the owner. She was concerned about my experience and wanted to make it better. Her outreach was appreciated. I felt like she heard my frustrations and wanted to make it better, not just for me, but for future customers. After our conversation, Jennifer was very quick to put ammends into place. Ultimately, were happy with our new light, and the serviceman, Brian was very pleasant and ensured the fixture was installed to my liking - thanks, Brian!Initial Review:Ive recently had a few experiences with The Light Center. The first being that the closet light installed in my new build home died. The LIght Center did their part (under warranty) to order a new light fixture and install it. I also purchased a light fixture during their sale for my dining room. While the buying experience was fine, I noticed a disconnect between sales & service. The sales guy was quick to pawn me off to service and say you gotta call Jean to set up an installation (which I paid for!), or she might call you next week. Needless to say, the installation was set up. However, Ive had 3 installation appointments rescheduled because they cant take into account location of appointments and drive time. Dealing with the service component of The Light Center isnt worth your mental energy or time. If you have the patience of a saint, go for it. Otherwise, if you chose to give your business to The Light Center, know that youve been forewarned.
Have done business with Jennifer, very knowledgeable and respectful of the lighting industry.
If you have a welcome desk you should not leave folks standing there pointlessly for 15 minutes. Will not visit again.
This place is awesome. Rachel helped us; we are buying for many different rooms, very informative and had no problems showing us many catalogs for different and/or similar styles and colors. As well as printing out specs so we can measure. No sales pressure just giving us the info we need. They will definitely be getting a lot of business from us.
Wide variety of high-end lighting solutions for every need. Great selection, helpful staff and a relaxed atmosphere make finding the right piece easy, but be prepared for the bill- the light fixtures here can be considered pieces of art, and are often priced as such. Note that ceiling fans are also offered here, something we didnt expect but appreciated.

We ordered a light fixture for our dinner room, and discovered when preparing to install, there were missing pieces. This was the manufacturers error; however, Rachel went above and beyond to make everything right to assure that we were satisfied with the product. Trevor installed the fixture, and upon finalizing the install, discovered another piece was missing; due to the inconvenience he waived the install charge. Once again, Rachel made everything right by getting the missing item into our hands so that we would have a fully installed dining room light by Thanksgiving! True professionals and 5 star customer service.

Selection is decent. Not the most up-to-date but all right. Better than shopping at a nig-box store. Giving it 2 stars because of the staff. EVERY time I have been in I end up leaving and purchasing elsewhere. The staff always seems too busy to help you. On one occasion I was lucky enough to get a great man helping me but when I simply needed to finalize my order and pay, I couldnt get a single person to help. I went in last week to look for lighting for my basement and nobody even acknowledged me. The prices are fair-ish. Not the lowest, not the highest.

February 2016 I went in to the Light Center with the intention of buying lighting for my full kitchen remodel. I needed several cam lights, one over-the-sink light (pendant) and a chandelier. There were 3 customers in the store plus me. I wandered throughout the store and found the perfect chandelier! However, in the 30 minutes I was in there, I was not acknowledged by even one employee! I might add as I made my way out the front door there was an employee texting on her cell phone and watched me go through the door and exit. So though I live in Windsor, I ended up buying all my lighting at Urban Lights in Denver! They have been wonderful with their customer service and love their huge inventory and discounts! I tried to buy at home, but your store wasnt interested in my business. Actual rating based on my experience would be less than 1 star.

This high-end lighting store has lots of very interesting choices that you can see mounted and lit.
The selection is mediocre and the salesman we encountered wasnt very helpful. The light they had on their website wasnt in store but when I inquired about ordering it, he said it would take two to three months to get in and couldnt even guarantee that. I went home and promptly found it at HOUZZ for $300 less.and had it inside a week. I really WANT to support local business but when the service isnt great and the price is more, I end up back online.

Although I couldn’t find the part I was hoping for to an older light fixture, they genuinely wanted to help and were great. The showroom was large with a large selection for all different tastes in designs.
Very helpful. When I was unable to locate replacement parts for an old lamp, they quickly matched one up out of their back room.
I just dropped my rating from 4 to 3 stars because of recent staff turnover. The new staff is inexperienced which is really frustrating when buying technical products. So happy I made my large lighting expenditures for a kitchen remodel in 2017 because just buying outdoor lights and asking about replacement glass was more if an endeavor than coming in with an extensive lighting plan. I dont want to return based on my two recent shopping experiences in July 2018.

Spent A LOT of money at this store. They gave me a entryway chandelier that was off their showroom and they didnt offer any kind of a discount. Isnt think considered a used product once its out of the package and used? We got it Home and they didnt provide any hardware for mounting. Not a happy customer!

Well, to an old thrift store junkie, the prices for new lamps are pretty horrifying, but theyre just the nicest people there. On more than one occasion, theyve not only searched in the back for some obscure part I needed, theyve then given me the part at no charge. You just dont find service like this much any more.
After multiple attempts to resolve the numerous issues with the lighting for our newly constructed home, I have once again been met with disappointment by The Light Center.1) April 2017 - met with Stephen twice to discuss lighting choices. We made our selections and left Stephen with a copy of our floor plan2) Winter 2018 - discovered that Stephen left the firm. The firm did not inform us nor did the firm have any knowledge of our interactions at the store. We began the process all over again with Leah. Leah located our account to discover that Stephens selections were incorrect and did not reflect our choices. We (my husband and I and our contractor) spent many hours with Leah going over our floor plan and lighting choices for each room and communicated that we had ordered a counter-height dining room table (36 high). We were encouraged.3) Spring 2018 - Leah left the firm. The firm did not contact us or assign our account to another sales representative. Light choices were delivered to our home: foyer light was too large and would be hit by the front door whenever it opened; dining room lights were incorrect; and we were short one patio light. Our contractor put us in contact with another sales representative - Trisha. I drove over to Fort Collins and spoke to Trisha. By the time I arrived, she had ordered the second patio light. With her guidance, I found another foyer light and set of lights for the dining room that had to be special ordered and reiterated that the dining room table was counter-height. Wed have to wait for delivery.4) July 2018 - The lights arrived and our electrician installed the foyer and patio light. On July 25th, our electrician arrived to install the dining room lights and discovered that the rods were 41 long. The light fixtures would hang just inches from the table top. I immediately contacted Trisha and my contractor. On July 25th, I spoke to Greg, the sales manager, and recounted our whole story from the beginning. In an effort to appease our frustration with The Light Center, Greg made arrangements to drive our home on the 26th, pick up the light fixtures and attempt to have the rods cut to size.5) July 27 - Greg called twice to update me on the progress of the rods. Yes, the rods were cut down but had been marred slightly by the process. New rods were ordered but I could install the lights with the marred rods and once the new rods came in, wed make arrangements to swap them out. I told Greg that I was satisfied and I would pick up the fixtures on Monday.6) July 30 - I drove to The Light Center and spoke to another salesperson. He informed me that Greg was out of the office for the day. I let the salesperson know that Greg had told me that the lights would be in his office per our July 27th conversation. The salesperson checked for the lights and couldnt find them. He invited me into Gregs office to assist him in the search. We only found the rods.Greg had not communicated with anyone in the firm that I was coming in nor had he left the light fixtures in plain sight so another employee could locate them.Im angry and frustrated. My husband, our contractor, and I have made several trips and spent numerous hours to select, reselect, and pick up lights. Apparently, The Light Center cares little for open and honest communication, customer service, or their professional reputation.
