I had a great rental experience at the Outfitters today. I hadnt used their online system before, but it was super easy and convenient. No paperwork at all when I got there, just a quick check-in with some very friendly and polite kids who got me in a kayak and on my way in no time! There were a ton of other paddlers and party boats on the water, so I would suggest going on a weekday if your schedule permits. I like it a bit quieter...but its nice to see so many people enjoying Promenade Park and the rivers.

Make your reservation online before arriving.They have a nice launching ramp to put into the water without having to get wet. The river was nice and enjoyable. Would definitely come back again.

Drove 5 hours to buy a kayak and would do it again if need be! Forrest and Emma were awesome and made sure I had everything I needed. Helped me load up my boat and pick up a few other things. Its shame I dont live closer! This is a great shop!

The company shamelessly requires tells every new customer that an email verification is required to complete the legal liability waiver. That is a disappointing manipulation just to confirm an email for future marketing purposes and potentially selling your email as a validated marketing tool. The liability waiver is understandably necessary, but all the personal information they require plus the signature is more than enough to complete the waiver, yet they tell the consumer we must confirm the email as well, which is simply not true.Otherwise, the kayaks are very good and the people working the location are kind. It is unfortunate that whoever is running the business side of it is overreaching on data gathering.

My husband and I went in search of new bikes and Tim & the team at Fort Wayne Outfitters were fantastic! We are amateurs at best and they were so attentive and helpful. From finding the right bikes for our riding style to the rack for the back of our SUV. Tim & Maggie walked us through all the minor details of our new bikes and accessories. Left feeling confident and excited for the adventure that awaits! Looking forward to our next visit to the shop.

Lots of kayaks to choose from, and the staff is very helpful. Book online, and show up with your reservation information. They will help you get your boat in the water. Very enjoyable experience.

I used Fort Wayne Outfitters to rent a kayak a couple weekends ago and they were amazing! Very helpful and provided lots of information for me, which was very valuable since it was my first time kayaking. They have a nice water ramp to get in and out of the water from a dock very easily with your kayak or canoe.

The staff was so helpful with my dog and I, they assisted with get my dog in the kayak, they where friendly and very nice. Shoot out the the guy that helped me with my dog, thank you for make this experience a very enjoyable one.

Was participating at the Fort4Fitness across the river when we got a flat tire 25 minutes before the race, and we were able to get in at a moments notice to get the flat changed and ready to race on time. Great, knowledgeable help!

We had a great time river kayaking with Fort Wayne Outfitters! We were able to pay and sign waivers online, arrived at our appointment time, and quickly received our kayaks and life jackets. The staff makes it easy to get in and out of the river and there is also a ramp to assist you. The pricing is affordable and worth it! The river also has a great mix of city views and nature. I would definitely use Fort Wayne Outfitters again when visiting Fort Wayne.

Great store located in the perfect spot: right on the Rivergreenway Bike path by the Wells St Bridge. Eden was helpful getting us the right parts for our bikes. Rented a few kayaks with the family. The staff here was great! We were new to the activity and everyone we dealt with had patience and explained everything, sometimes twice. The prices seemed reasonable.

I go here to rent kayaks for the river. They are knowledgeable and you can do all your reservations online ahead of time to get you in the water faster. Ive also purchased cycling water bottles and shirts here, they have great cycling and outdoor sports offerings. I recommend taking the half-day 4 hour rental and taking lunch with you. There are plenty of trees along the river so you shouldnt get too sunburned!

It was something different to do around the area, just wish they hadnt overbooked. Seems we got the slim pickings of the kayaks, we ordered premium ones but got one that the seat couldnt be adjusted because a buckle had broken so they (or someone else) just tied it to the seat, whoever tied it, tied it with the seat leaning back so far you were almost laying down and was wicked uncomfortable. The paddle I got was 2 different paddles snapped together to make a paddle, which isnt a huge deal but if you are paying extra for the premium you should probably get the premium equipment. 2 of the 3 paddles we had were missing the drip rings and my friend ended up slicing their hand open as a result. Overall, was fun but a little bit of an equipment issue... Bottom line, if someone is paying for the premium kayaks you should probably make sure they are premium quality but would still recommend the place for kayak rentals just maybe forego the premium because youll just get the same quality as the standard stuff.

Dont buy items there unless they are on sell, they will not refund any items that are not on sell. even within 7 days or 30 days

First time I went was good, the second time, the staff seemed so overworked and irritated. Especially one of the female employees was being so snappy, sassy and sounded so annoyed beyond belief with my family. I will definitely be looking for other places to kayak. Some of the employees were friendly and helpful but it only takes one to ruin the experience. The water is so disgusting anyway.

We rented a couple of bikes here. The staff was very friendly and took the time to make bike adjustments to make sure we had a comfortable ride. The bikes were in perfect condition and reasonably priced. Biking through Fort Wayne is a great way to see the city and spend an afternoon. Two thumbs up for this place!

Worst experience Ive had for bicycle service, took to a quality shop a week later to have the same work done again but done right. Had several questions before I dropped it off and left notes to mechanics to call before servicing and never heard back once after several phone calls until I called two days later to be told the work was already done.

The people at Fort Wayne Outfitters were great on our kayak trip rental. Unfortunately, I booked the Curly Suspension Bridge trip, but the put-in was so badly damaged by the recent weather that we couldnt safely do that trip. Hardly the fault of Fort Wayne Outfitters. They called me within minutes of booking to let me know this and to offer the alternative Johnny Appleseed trip, which I accepted. Had a great experience with them. They even helped with my wifes kayak, which she owns and obviously did not rent from them. Great people and would definitely return and recommend for anyone wanting to kayak around Fort Wayne.

The staff are helpful and friendly. Weve been there several times to rent a kayak or a canoe. What a great way to see the city of Fort Wayne. Also a good way to support river preservation. We take a garbage bag with us for our trash and whatever can be pulled from the river. Its a wonderful experience, that everyone would enjoy. Every time we go we have a blast!

My daughter purchased tickets for us for Fathers day. Our guide was the highlight of the cruise. He was extremely knowledgeable about Fort Wayne history. Weve lived around the Fort Wayne area all our lives and learned things we never knew. Will definitely book more trips with family and friends. Great gift idea.

This is a nice local shop. You can get everything you need from bike/running supplies to renting a canoe to take on the river. The staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to help. The shop is filled wall to wall with anything you could ever need.

I was 2 wks past the 30 day return period. I was all geared up for the usual sales associate that rigidly follows pointless policies but was so very pleasantly surprised when I was told that not only could I exchange it but despite exceeding the return period, I could get a full refund! The surroundings are in an Historic building near an old bridge and the river in downtown Fort Wayne. Enjoyed the staff and the many products. Service was excellent they really make you feel welcome...and thats not always the case in bike shops. My nephew and I rented the double kayak and had a great paddling on the river. It just feels right the location the building the access to the bike path and the river greenway. Highly recommend that everyone get off the couch and visit the Bike Depot! One of the best new things about Fort Wayne!

When I bought my first mountain bike here a year ago, this bike shop was amazing in both knowledge and customer service. I credit Brett Davis for this, but I havent seen him or any of the staff that helped me since December. The people that work there nowadays seem to have no knowledge of bikes whatsoever. When I had my fork repaired, they put it back together incorrectly, as my preload knob came out of the fork when I tried to adjust it. I called and whoever was on the phone rudely told me not to turn it and said I was probably the reason the fork broke if I had been turning the knob, which is false. Anyone with knowledge of coil forks knows that the preload knob should be able to turn. I now take my business to Summit City Bicycles and Fitness, and I now recommend SSB&F to anyone who looks to purchase a bike. Outfitters has greatly disappointed me.
