This place is a nerds heaven. (Which I fully support) Youve got games going on everywhere. All kinds of stuff you can buy for days games. The staff is so friendly, making sure to greet every single person who comes in. He was also ready and willing to help with anything. He also has 2 of the cutest dogs just roaming around.

Ive bought a ton of stuff here in the past but my most recent trip will be my last. I went in on record store day for the replacements drop. They had it, sweet. Then the dude working took it away from me because they sold it online. Hes like, we put them online and they sell so fast. Then why bother putting them in the store if you wont even give local customers a single day to buy it? So I ended up ordering the record that I had in my hand online. I guess Wooden Nickle, and since theyre under the same ownership, neat neat neat, would rather the people of Fort Wayne order online than come in. Ive taken that to heart and started a group of my co workers at the countrys largest music store to get together next month and order online instead of bothering with a store who doesnt value the people standing there with a record in their hand.

Still the best place in town for vinyl and CDs.

Wooden nickel has all the records, tapes, and cd s that you could ever want, including the oddballs. Tim Hogan has been a musical encyclopedia to me for over 40 years. Check them out at any location.

Its an okay music store. We were looking at LPs. We were a bit disappointed with the selection of used records. There were way more new items than used. I am sure this could be because it was a Friday and things couldve been picked over quite well. While the selection was vast it was mostly new items, at about $20-$30 on average.I was unaware of their rewards program. For each record you buy, they give you a wooden nickle, once ten are accumulated you can exchange them for $5 credit on a record. I thought that was an awesome concept!The parking lot is very small and cramped, but I understand they cant just move the building at will.

Great record store. Very friendly staff. Not pretentious like the staff at many record stores can be. So even if you are not really experienced at shopping at a record store you can shop easily at this store. A little small, but plenty of products, so dont let that deter you. And good prices with lots of bargain options.

Everything was great from the time I walked in. It really was. Walked in with a friend who was looking for several specific vinyls. After finding a few of them before checking out he asked if there was anywhere he should be looking in particular. The older gentleman asked what he was after and after proceeded to turn around and began grabbing several items that were in the system but not put away yet. Long story short my friend found what he was looking for. I love that the man went above and beyond.

Walked in and the young guy working asked me to please pull my mask up over the nose. First time in this pandemic that staff anywhere had the nerve to accost a possible customer. Left without buying anything. Do they know how much a vinyl junky is capable of dropping for the goods? Well at least I wasn’t able to spread my non-Covid germs to anyone outside of 6 feet social distance. The displays were no good either, with new and used grouped together and the records packed tight so you could not thumb through them and had to slide a record up to see what it was.

Have a wide selection of vinyl and will order something for you if they are able.

Of the 3 Wooden Nickel stores in the Ft. Wayne area, this one is the best and where I find more albums, especially new vinyl. New and used are mixed which is common these days but the records are way too tight to navigate thru. I get it though cause they only have so much space in their store to put everything out on the floor. May I suggest putting the older new vinyl that doesnt move in a sale bin or separate the used altogether since there is not much used to begin with. The store on Anthony probably has more records but their inventory doesnt seem to change much. And the store on Jefferson has the smallest vinyl selection so pass on that one. So if you have time to make only one stop while visiting Ft. Wayne, this shop on Clinton is the one to hit.

Awesome record shop with new and used albums of all kinds. They carry lots of other music stuff and the employees are helpful and friendly. Great example of why small businesses should be supported over huge companies.

The owner is a great guy, super friendly and tons of knowledge. But the majority of the employees at all locations arent exactly friendly. Doesnt bother me, I just go in and buy the things I want.

First time here. Loved it. I havent been to a record store since the 90s. I couldve spent all day perusing their selection. The amount of vinyl here is awesome. I will definitely be back for more!

Girl working at the register was very nice and polite. Store was nice. I love old school record stores. Will be returning here. My dad brought me here when I was a kid. The place seemed bigger then. Lol. Be warned. The place is small with lots of stuff jammed into a tiny place. But it was a fun and fascinating browse.

Great selection and so much to choose from in a little store! They have CDs, Vinyls, and Cassettes. Reasonable prices too! I bought three cassettes and 2 CDs and it only cost about 27 dollars. Really get your bang for your buck.

Something we dont get to experience enough anymore these days. Walking through rows and rows of excellent music. Discovering new hidden gems or spotting that album/cd cover that instantly transports you back to an earlier time. Wonderful pace.

Just got tickets for a show! Staff courteous, had print-outs of venue seating, no pressure. As painless as could be. Browsed the music after. Still no pressure. Miss the old Slatewood, but times change.

The entire family Liked Wooden Nickel. The only thing that could have made it better was if it wasnt a pain to get to and wasnt so damn hot in there! The selection was amazing!

Very nice music store with good prices. They have a large amount of vinyl records, CDs, and used cassettes. There is also a small DVD/Blu Ray section with a good selection of live shows and documentaries on different bands. We looked through the whole store and searched through a lot of CDs it took about 45 minutes to get though just the CDs, but while we were there 3 other customers came in got what they wanted and left. The store is laid out well and its easy to find the items you are looking for. We ended up purchasing 5 CDs for under $30. The staff was professional.

People at the Wooden Nickel are helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Ive found nice records there for very reasonable prices. I enjoy shopping at this store.
