Excellent variety for craft beer. They have a large selection that can accompany the most specific of tastes. Theyre definitely light on the macro beer however, but Id bet thats not what the store is going for. The polar vortex machine, to rapid cool your drinks, on the shop floor also always comes in handy. The three minutes it takes will definitely be filled by some good conversation, since the employees are great too.

This place is great! They have hundreds of different types of craft beers as well as wines, meads and more! They allow guests to build-your-own 6-pack with everything in stock, so if you want to try something new or just don’t like committing to 6 of the same flavor you can mix and match! The employees are super friendly and very knowledgeable about the stock. There’s always something new and exciting to try. Definitely the best store in town!

Ive found it difficult to locate another beer store in Frederick where the selection is not overwhelmingly full of IPAs. District East has massive diversity and an almost overwhelming selection of styles and breweries. The staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions. I will continue to build my own six packs for the foreseeable future.

THE best place in Frederick for beer. Ive always had a fantastic experience at District East. An excellent selection of craft beer from all over Maryland and the surrounding states. The employees are very friendly and helpful and have always given me great recommendations on new beers to try. Their wine selection is also good and they have a variety of high quality, inexpensive wines for all tastes. This is my first and only choice for beer in Frederick. Cant recommend enough.

I was very excited to show my best friend an awesome business. I asked the man (red beard) working there to point us in the direction of a good fruited sour. He gave my friend a sample, he loved it. My mother wanted a same, she loved it. There was about a tablespoon left in the cup and my mother let me try it (I’m 25). He said “yeah I’m not okay with that, I can’t let just anyone drink our beer”. I immediately assumed it was because i did not show my ID so I pulled out my wallet and gave him my ID. He said “no I’m upset because he is visibly intoxicated”. This insulted me a lot because I had THREE beers between 5 and 9. Everyone: i was excited to show my friend a craft beer store and have him try a good fruited sour. My energy was high. My friend immediately put down what he intended to purchase and we left without buying anything. I will never return to this business. Fantastic idea of a store, but as long as people like him work at this business I will never return. I understand not serving someone very intoxicated because it’s irresponsible, but this man yelled at my mother and me for being too drunk. He apologized to the rest of my family for being over-cautious (my family vouched for me not drinking very much), but I still will never return. I’ve never felt so disrespected at a business. The staff needs to better trained and I hope he specifically is reprimanded for this.

Recently stopped by this place on a friends recommendation. I was not disappointed! Ended up buying enough beer for a month. They have a wonderful selection of cans and bottles from the Frederick breweries and many of the breweries from MD, DC, and throughout the mid-Atlantic.I was impressed with their selection of German and Belgian imports, which included some of my favorite Trappist offerings. I hope they can bring in some Achel in the future!This place is very active on the untapped app and make a point to post their new arrivals. The coolest thing is their build your own 6-pack policy is a bit more relaxed than most stores. Here they allow you to build 6-packs from any beer that was packaged as 4 or 6-packs, including from their import selection. Premium bombers and other specialty singles have a different pricing policy.If you’re visiting Frederick for the breweries and want a one stop shop for beer souvenirs to bring home, I definitely recommend visiting District East!

Always a top-notch selection of craft brews here. Andrew is the BEST at picking out a mix-pack ( though all staff is super friendly). They often have great tastings going on and a rotating draft list. Definitely a Frederick favorite store.

Its a craft beer lovers paradise without having to travel down to Montgomery County. The staff is very friendly as well and is always looking to make sure you find a beer that youll love.

Excellent selection of craft beers and the service! I felt that the prices were very reasonable. I was greeted, asked if I needed help looking for anything, and told about Maryland Monday. On Mondays they have a thing called Maryland Monday which if you purchase beer brewed in Maryland, youll receive 15% off. They also had domestic and imported beers, meads, ciders, and wine. In addition to all of that, there is also a growler filling station. I would definitely shop here again.

Have visited several times. Selection is great, but service is inconsistent. The rules seem to change depending on the staffing. Very condescending when I shopped alone, much nicer when I was with my husband.I wont be returning anytime soon.
