Have to downgrade from 4 to 3 stars . . . the second visit was not as pleasant as the first one. The coffee was not that great, and the pastry I ordered was dry/stale.Will try one more time to see if their breakfast sandwiches are good and report back.

Baltimore Coffee and Tea has one of the best selections of coffee Ive found in the area. I love their flavored coffee - Rainforest Crunch, Blueberry Creme, and Cinnamon Stick Bun are a few of my absolute favorites. Their Christmas Coffee is also fantastic, and full of flavor.The Frederick store is always clean, well-stocked, and the employees are friendly and eager to help.

This is a great place to meet up with a colleague or friend, for coffee and or breakfast/lunch. They have many choices of coffees (get some extra beans to gift to someone) and nice sandwich options. Love their bagels and oatmeal in the morning. Indoor and outdoor seating. They do close by 6pm on weekdays, so more of a daytime meetup spot.

We’ve been here probably ten time in the past couple months and haven’t had a single stellar experience but there have been a lot of disappointments. The hot lattes my husband and I got on our first two visits were awful, couldn’t finish them. They were very burnt and bitter. I tried a different milk and that didn’t help. We tried two more times before I gave up on getting coffee here. It’s some of the worst coffee I’ve had.The cashier staff is not very friendly. The tuna sandwich is great and so is the turkey bacon sandwich but they have significant issues with delivering what you asked for. They’ve currently managed only a 1 in 3 accuracy for us and it’s pretty annoying to have a sandwich slathered in Mayo and tomato when you confirm three times no tomato or Mayo.Our latest way visit was today. My husband went to get three sandwiches (2 out of 3 sandwiches were wrong in multiple ways again) and he told me that 4 staff members making food/drinks weren’t wearing masks. I don’t care if masks are not currently state mandated, a restaurant should choose to take health/hygienic precautions in the middle of a pandemic (and a recent surge at that). I work in the events industry and every single vendor and caterer is fully masking right now. This is basic.We’re done coming here unfortunately. Two stars because the sandwiches are so delicious when they get them right.

So much better than Starbucks ;) Don’t get me wrong... I love Starbucks, actually. But I was really blown away by this coffee & tea shop. The staff was super nice, and friendly. Very attentive, and polite. When you first walk inside... the aroma of coffee is wonderful. I was also delighted to see so many different flavors of coffee, tea, candy, popcorn, nuts, and all kinds of great gift ideas for any coffee/tea fanatic!! We didn’t purchase any pre-packaged goods this time, but we ordered from the cafe. I got a St Michael’s sandwich (dill tuna, sprouts, avocado, lettuce, tomato)... which was so delicious and fresh!! I also ordered a Starry Night latte - very chocolatey and creamy... I would definitely recommend this cafe to my friends & family. :)

When my husband and I moved to Maryland a couple years back, I gave this place 5 stars, not just because of the coffee, but the service. One pandemic later, even though we dont get to stop on our way to work daily for coffee, its still 5 star service each time we visit. Everyone that works in the Frederick location has been exceptional in each of our interactions and beyond kind.To add a personal note, my husband and I are expecting our first child and the awesome people here got together and created a baby shower gift for us. It was a wonderful surprise and goes to show how thoughtful and kind each of them are.

Only been here a handful of times, when headed out of DC, but they consistently have the best coffee in the area. High quality, large bean variety, great stuff. Oh, and they do tea.

Worst bacon egg and cheese sandwich Ive ever had. The bacon was over cooked, eggs were under cooked and the Croissant was extremely dry. I also ordered a fruit cup which was expired by 4 days and was horrible. They offered me another cup of fruit and that one was expired as well. The only good part is the manager was nice. Go to McDonalds and save your money!

Great experience in this place! Very warm and friendly staff, lots of coffee options, and well-priced big menu for sandwiches/bagels.We got some daily coffee, bagels with egg and cheese, croissants for breakfast. All of them were good.Planning to come back to this place when we are in town again!

Didn’t like the coffee so I had someone remake it for me. The manager was able to refund me & also asked if she was able to make it for me to try again. I thought the manager and everyone inside was nice, just didn’t enjoy the coffee. Smelt and tasted burnt to me but might just be the type of coffee beans they have or the way the coffee is supposed to be.

Who else hates those days where you sleep a little too late, wake up a little too early, and get a little too tired early in the day?Yeah. That happened today and it sucks. Especially when you have a platter of tasks that you have to muscle down before the end of day.I decide to look up a coffee shop close to the new office and I end up taking the additional 5 minutes to drive to Baltimore Coffee and Tea Company. It was well worth the trip.The atmosphere is great, not crowded at ALL. You can have your personal space and be able to breath while doing your coffee shop thing.The employees were extremely courteous, which is pleasantly surprising when they’ve probably already been through hell and back from the morning/lunch rush.I got the largest Americano to really put this review on the chopping block and it turned out great. Double par on the back to the guy making the coffee. Thanks bro.

A really broad selection of coffee, tea, sandwiches, and pastries. They routinely stock numerous unique whole bean coffees as well as corresponding single serve “k cups.” My wife is always impressed with their selection of teas. They stock loose and bagged teas (and perhaps single serve cups as well). The staff is very knowledgeable about their products and they occasions that I have had any questions they have always been extremely helpful and accurate with their information and recommendations. I have not sampled their sandwiches but they smell delicious. I have had a few of their pastries and am always pleased. They also have several options of pre-packaged gift boxes and accessories such as coffee mugs, tea balls, etc. if you’re a fan of coffee or tea be sure to stop in for a visit.

GLUTEN FREE/CELIAC FRIENDLY! Great selection of coffee drinks and can accommodate a severe gluten allergy. Friendly staff and COVID-safe practices. I personally prefer their blended Snickers. Gluten free treats as well are available.

My husband loved the fact that they had organic roasted flavored beans without artificial flavoring. They use essence to flavor the specialty beans. However when ordering iced latte to there are ok only 2 coffee options and the flavorings were artificial and sugarfree...yuck. iced tea was great and I also bought 2 bags of loose leaf tea.Pass on the gluten free bagels,expensive,flat,gross.

Love this coffee shop. The people that work here are great. The coffee is great and being able to buy in bulk with lots of choices is amazing. The food is really good and love the cover of the day options. Just wish there were more around the area.

My rating is for black coffee only at their Frederick and Hanover locations.Ive had 5 different types of coffee in 4 days and they were all incredibly delicious. I never understood the term musky used to describe coffee until I had their Black Raven Blend and Indian Monsoon Malabar.

Went here every morning for over a month while on a job nearby. Stellar service and fast no matter what you order. Everything prepared on-site, no pre-packaged foods. Very friendly, positive attitude always. Longtime employees.

We moved around the corner from this place and gave it a try. Its now our new favorite spot! Its our go-to for breakfast sandwiches (lunch too), and the coffee is fantastic. Great tea selection as well.

Wonderful place. I come here every week and no matter whos working they are always friendly and even witty at times. The place is so aromatic due to the vast variety of beans. Note though that they dont offer flavored creamers, only half&half and 2%, so the flavor of the beans arent masked.

Great selection of high quality coffee beans. Its the only place we go to get Swiss water decaf coffee. On top of all the high quality, you get a free cup of coffee when you buy a pound of beans!

Love, love the coffee and the staff is always helpful and friendly. Whenever I am in the area I make it a point to get a cup and at least a half pound or more to go. I can dream one day a location will be opened in Montgomery county area. 🙂

Im a big fan of this place, wish they could carve out a small presence near Mt. Airy/New Market. Solid selection of coffees, teas, and breakfast faire. Friendly staff, and a nice environment with plenty of room, also offering a small selection of outdoor seating.

I come here regularly for a coffee or tea and have yet to have a bad experience. The atmosphere here is open, airy, and comfortable. If youre not much of a coffee drinker but love the smell of the coffee, you can go around and take a whiff of all the different types they have. Trust me, that alone is a marvelous experience.The staff is always super friendly and even willing to chat when they have a quiet moment. The one in Frederick is conveniently located (especially for myself) and easy to find. The prices are a little higher than some places, but I find that the quality of the whole place is worth it.For the entrepreneur/worker/blogger/artist etc, its got plenty of outlets and tables for electrons if youre coming for a working session.

UPDATE: 10/2/21- Today was the last time I spend money at this establishment. The last three times I have gone and ordered a coffee, it has been an unpleasant and frustrating experience. The staff are always changing, the new staff seem improperly trained and unfamiliar with what customer service includes.Today, my frustration of a bitter and burnt late, spilled over to the need of a fellow customer that went 20 minutes without any assistance or acknowledgement at the beans counter. She was being very patient and wasnt even acknowledged by one of the three staff. I became so upset at how this once welcoming and friendly, customer driven coffee shop has become a place where they dont take the time to train new employees properly or even have a manager there overseeing staff.I went up to the customer and asked her if she had been assisted, at which she confirmed she had not. I then proceeded to get the attention of the employee working at the food counter, who was the obviously more senior employee, and told her she had a customer waiting for a long time at the bean counter who had not been assisted.The weak apology from that employee and her instructions to the new individual that was making the coffee was not ideal, neither of which still acknowledged the waiting patron nor apologized to her. As I passed the patron she gladly thanked me for my help.I was flabbergasted and really upset by this situation. I wanted a new unburnt late but due to only 3 staff (1 of which was unseen in the back sporting green hair) there was a very long line of people waiting. I decided then and there, it wasnt worth it.I threw away my $7 burnt late and said goodbye to Baltimore Coffee and Tea.To the manager and owner, what I experienced today was unexceptionable and could have easily have been rendered. I was very fond of your store, service and coffee. I am now very saddened and hope that your future returning customers dont see and experience what I did today because if they do, I fear you will also lose their business to the competition down the street. I enjoyed a nice pour over of the the baristas favourite. Staff was very helpful and kind despite the busy afternoon... Oh & one more thing, I greatly appreciated that coffee can be purchased by the 1/4 lb. if you like; a great way to sample their various blends!

STOP -- and go get coffee and a ham/cheese sandwich here. Thank me later.I was in town for a bit while moving from NYC to Oregon and I was so happy to find this place. The staff is phenomenal and very kind, but the coffee... oh, the coffee. So good that it easily stands it ground against even the best coffee places Ive been in NYC. The big difference is the daily rotating choice of coffee, the fact that a redeye has more than one shot of espresso, and -- most importantly -- its not $7 a cup like NYC.Ive also tried the ham and swiss (which is one of the better ham and swiss sandwiches Ive ever had) and the smoothies, and this place seems to do everything right.

The people there are very friendly and welcoming. One of the women explained their coffees to us and pointed us to the samples of the coffee sense it was our first time there. They had all different kinds of bagels to have with the breakfast sandwiches and they have different flavored cold brews. Also all there coffee flavors are made with extracts and not from syrups so they are perfect for people doing low carb.

Have gone since it opened years ago. Very much enjoy every coffee there. Prices are a bit high but Frederick is becoming a little Gaithersburg so if you can afford it by all means enjoy it. Always consistently high quality coffee and food. Never disappointed in flavor.

Great-tasting coffee with a good atmosphere. You can get a cup of black coffee for a little over $2 with refills. The refills are self-serve, and you can choose between several coffees, including decaf. The staff are friendly, and the place always seems clean. Customers are friendly as well, and we almost always see at least one regular who we recognize when we go. As if that werent good enough, they have probably at least 100 varieties of whole beans that are on display and available for purchase. Not to mention lots of loose-leaf and bagged tea, other coffee and tea drinks, pastries, and plenty of giftables. It has quickly become our favorite coffee shop. Good prices, great coffee, and the perfect balance between Starbucks and small ma and pa shops.

Looove their coffee! Id try their teas if it wasnt so expensive. Its definitely worth it every once in a while when Im close to that area. 4 stars because theyre always nice and helpful, Im always happy with what I get, and I like their free drink after certain amounts of purchases. For 5 stars theyd need to take .50¢ off the price, or have better/easier vegan food options. If you arent worried about spending a little more money (for higher quality of course) or veg options this place is amazing!

I really enjoyed this store. They were open early, the staff was friendly, and they had a decent selection. My bagel and cheese with all the veggies treated me right and my iced coffee was large, cheap, and tasty. If youre nearby and need some coffee or breakfast this place is the way to go and much better than a Starbucks.

This is one of our go to places. Love the sandwiches and breakfasts. We frequently stop by while running errands. It is also the only place where we buy our coffee for home. We used to go to Starbucks but felt rushed most of the time. This is a place to linger.

Love this place. Excellent Coffee. Dont remember what I had today, but it was delicious. Also got an everything bagel breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon with havarti cheese! Dont know where they get their bagels, but this one was GOOD. Toasted to perfection, well done dark brown toasting, just like I ordered.

Love this place! My daughter and I went for Lunch and I was amazed at the variety of sandwiches they had - especially their gluten free choices. the prices of their teas and coffees were great! Much lower than the prices in local discount stores. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and the food was outstanding!

Is a friendly place, everyone is nice with the customer and they have so many different choices of coffee. Food is good too. Good place to spend time with a friend chatting, on line or reading a book.

This little shop can custom make coffee and sells coffee by the pound. Im coming back.

LOVE this coffee shop! Its so easy to select the exact beans that you want, as they are displayed in burlap bean bags with a clear plate on top. You can scoop out a few to smell it taste, a CD they will even make you a single cup. This is the go- to for gifts for coffee loving friends, add they will wrap your bag complete with colorful tissue a CD a bow. There is a huge selection of teas as well, and a pleasant sitting area both in and outside. The only difficulty is trying to enter the shopping center. Enjoy!

Most excellent coffee and staff. I cant say enough about the staff. Friendly without being imposing. Great place for fresh coffee. They carry a greater variety than the standard super shops. Flavored and special roasts. More choices than any other store that Ive experienced.

The coffee was good, not a big selection (2 decaf, 2 regular and a couple of flavored). They have a big selection of beans and a bunch of miscellaneous coffee related items. The breakfast sandwiches were just OK. The smoked salmon wasnt particularly fresh. Better than Starbucks.

Food and drinks very good, but they seem to be pretty unorganized behind the counter and slow to get everything ready. Ive had the same experience before, so I dont go very often.

Great coffee brewing as well as selection, I do wish the breakfast foods and food in general were alittle better, but Im going here for great teas and coffees and thats what they have. The staff is also helpful and friendly so all and all great place.
