If I could give this rating 0 stars I would the customer service was terrible!! I was going through liberty town and wanted something sweet so we decided to stop at this liquor store. I picked up a candy bar and went to check out. I was told there was a 5 dollar min on cards so my cousin pick up a few more snack. We check out and after I paid the man proceeded to say that’s how you get fat and made a round belly gesture with his hands! I ONLY WANTED ONE CANDY BAR!!!

Called to ask about inventory and got hung up on mid sentence. Tried calling back and got no answer.

This store is wonderful!! A great family run business that is very convenient to get to, and with fast service!!Paula and her spouse are a great, friendly couple and always accommodating for whatever we may need! I highly recommend Barnes!

Theres just something about hearing the hardwood planks creaking beneath your feet as you make your way through one of the few remaining country stores in the county. I live about three miles away in a town of just a couple thousand boasting a Sheetz, a Circle K, and a Rutters, with a 7-Eleven due to open in a couple months - cookie cutter convenience stores without an ounce of personality among them. Give me a real family-run country store anytime.

Barnes is a liquor store/convenient store combo.

A quaint old county store setting from the barn shape to the nostalgic floors. A nice change from the stores owned by money hungry to a mom and pop setting ! A very friendly couple that go out of their way to help you in any way they can. Its worth a stop to support a local business thats privately owned.

Without a doubt the nicest family I have ever had the pleasure of coming in contact with. I found that store cause my usual place did not have what i was looking for. God truly works in wounderes ways cause Barnes Country Store is a bit further but it is worth the extra time and gas. It is now my usual store for sure.

EDITED: Things have improved lately. No bad experiences in the past 4 months. Im raising this from 1 star to 4 stars.Original:Dont bother. Just go somewhere better by driving 2 miles. These people are rude.

Horrible customer service

I went to Barnes to purchase milk--the price was high but it is a small store so I expected to pay more. when the clerk ( a snarly individual) rang up my item he wanted to charge tax--i stated that in Maryland, groceries are not taxed. he took the milk back to the refrigerator and shooed me out of the store--this is illegal. i am also writing to the MD state sales tax authority--i hope this guy gets in trouble. what a cheesy way to make an extra few cents.

They are the best people and good family and they have good beer and food they are trying to get bigger and anybody has something to say I will apply back to you something to be nice to them

Prices are out of the roof.... the same product 2 minutes down the road costs 5 dollars less... the only perk to this place is the owner is quite eccentric and youll never know what hes going to say

Ive been to this place many times to pick up orange juice or water while out on the bike ride. I live in Germantown and wanted to find out if I went there on a special trip (35 miles or more on back roads) if they have a certain item that I need to buy which Id seen there in the past. I just called there and a guy answered the phone who has no training to be doing that and only speaks enough English to say that you want something, you come here and get it. He then hung up on me and when I tried to call back, wouldnt answer and then on the third try, simply hung up again without even saying anything...no greeting...no pidgeon English...nothing. Totally hostile and uncooperative . Dont worry pal, Ill not be coming there any more in the future for any thing.
