I have brought both of my vehicles to your shop for many years. Have always found the staff professional, honest, up front with what repairs need to be done and they have always given me detailed information, pictures and estimates. Recently my car was in the shop and they discovered a serious safety issue. They immediately did the work that needed to be done and I got my car back way earlier than anticipated. Less than a week later I was rear ended hard. I stopped by for a recommendation on a good body shop and Mike was wonderfully helpful. The next day Kyle called me just to check up on me and see if I was doing OK physically. It was time for new tires and wheels on my nearly 20 year old truck. Mike and Marty picked out a great looking set of aluminum wheels that really dressed up the look of the truck. Mike and his techs do a great job diagnosing the issues that come up on older vehicles, they are my go to shop.

Have never experienced professionalism of this sort from ANY shop before. They dont just give you a price but options. They showed photos which really helped develop trust. I also appreciated honesty that an issue may require more than 1 repair but that they would work 1 step at a time. Only downside is that they are scheduling >3 weeks out. However, common sense should tell you that wait times that long are a good sign of repeat business. I will always give them the 1st opportunity for my business going forward.

Mike always does a thorough and complete job of the repair list agreed on. I appreciate his willingness to work on a 60 year old car.

Family owned business that was recommended, which Im all for supporting. I didnt even make an appointment, just dropped by vehicle off and filled out an after hours tag. Kyle was informative and friendly - communication was key. They were straight forward with what was and wasnt needed for repair. Turnaround quick and obviously done correctly. They have my future business and would most definitely recommend to others.

I went to Detor Automotive recently. I called to ask how much it would be ahead of time, the receptionist, Kyla, told me that they wouldn’t know the price until they looked at it. Then they just went ahead and fixed it without telling me the cost first like I had asked. It turned out to be almost $200. The mechanic was very nice, but the receptionist was horrible. When I told her that I expected them to tell me the price BEFORE working on my car and charging me for it, she said “you brought it here to be repaired and that’s what we did”. Very unprofessional and upsetting.

Detor automotive is a crook. I spent over $3000 on a/c repair and a faulty engine sensor. They assured me everything was fixed. The next day I tried the a/c which was still broken. I called them immediately and there response was “we don’t have any openings for 2 weeks.” They we’re not accommodating or did they offer to try and bring my vehicle in sooner since they mistakenly told me it was fixed. My engine light also came back on about a week later. Not knowing much about cars I was taken advantage of and spent all my savings only to have my car still in need of repairs. At know time did the owner offer to work with me in anyway. They only wanted more money. It’s sad when businesses like this take advantage of people. I ended up going to Northstar in Fulton and they fixed my a/c for less then $150. Please be careful when dealing with this business, I was fooled.

If you want to do all the work yourself as far as finding everything you need for THEM to fix your vehicle this is thee place. The woman in charge and the head mechanic are great honestly but either I had the worst luck or the place screwed me.

Ive brought my vehicles here as long as Ive lived in NY. I brought my first car here, and I bring my Jeep and my wifes Subaru here. Theyre the people to go count on every time. Its a 30 minute drive for us but theyre 100% worth it.

This time was oil change. Very polite, friendly, professional.They take the time answering all questions that you might have. If there is or they find an issue with the car they will explain the situation and what should be done.
