Waited 3 months for an eye appt. They called today to confirm and left a message for me to call back never telling me I had to call back by a certain time, so I call to confirm and am told they canceled my appt because I didnt call back by at first I was told noon then second time I called back was told because I didnt confirm by 2. Now if I want another appt I cant get in till July. Not going back, update--- the first message left was a voice-mail for someone named Karen so I would have not returned that call it being for someone else and the second message was left with my mom and she was not told for me to call before 2. Even on their own website under their policies and protocols regarding Covid19 there is nothing about confirming before a certain time when they call to confirm or they will cancel your appt
My son had an appointment scheduled in May, due to COVID I had gotten a text saying it was cancelled, but they’d call to reschedule when they opened up. Never got a call. About a week ago I called around 10:30am, went to answering machine. Left a message which included my phone number and why I was calling. I’m still waiting for that call. I called somewhere else and they were able to schedule us for within 2 weeks of me calling. Bard was the first place I called when we moved here 4 years ago, never really felt welcomed. They seemed annoyed with my children. Will not be going back to Bard.
Went there about a week ago for the first time ever, had brought my son (he’s a year old) and they asked me if I had brought anyone to watch him... I was picking out glasses and they told me I had to have someone watch him while I was doing that.
I would put zero stars but thats not an option. I have a strong prescription and I know there is not a huge selection of contacts for my eyes but i paid for a contact fitting and only received one pair of contacts to try. They say those contacts are $500 for a years supply and they refuse to get any others for me to try. I have never ever paid over $200 for a years supply before and my eyes have not changed much if at all... They wont even put me in the contacts I was wearing when I went in for my appointment which is air optics (a very common brand)! Never again!!
My son went in for his new glasses for the year and this doctor so messed up his eyes, with a script that has readers in it for a 25 yr old so we will never be back to that cracker jack of eyes doctor if he even is one!!!! You shouldnt go in and com out with seeing halos and worse vision then you have ever had before!!!!!!!, Never gonna go there again!!
This review is for the Galesburg, Illinois branch. Marry was very kind and helpful. She was very easy to relate to. However the ophthalmologist (Cant recall his name) was very rude and unprofessional. He refused to shake hands with me. Which made me feel really uncomfortable. Then stated he would let me know my results after the examination. He would refuse to tell me what he was doing during the process. Overall I feel like he is and was very unprofessional. Never again.
Recently had to get new glasses and outside of the wait time I was very pleased. Staff was professional and friendly, Dr was also great and it was hassle free experience.
I was very pleased with the way I was treated at my appointment, everyone is polite and answered any concerns.
Slow. Not friendly. Took my 3 yr old son and i to get check up. And they seemed very annoyed with my son... but after waiting 45 min in the waiting room my son was not having it... they insisted i go first making my son wait even longer causing him to become very antsy and impatient. I will not be back.
I couldnt seem to use my bifocals. No matter how hard I tried. Operator error I guess.It took a couple visits for me to figure that out. Then gave me new glasses without them. When I asked. They were great thru the whole process.
My sons and I have been going here and rock island branch for more than 15 years. The staff is friendly. But the eye doctors are very stuck up. This last time. The guy who is the new eye doc was very friendly and professional. The last foreign lady was not friendly at all. But.... much better than a Walmart eye doc.
Mary is always so very helpful and great at her job. Nice and courteous staff in general.
Called twice yesterday, (morning and afternoon) to set up an appointment to buy new glasses, nobody answered nor have they returned my calls. They lost my business. Ill drive all the way to the cities to be seen.
My overall experience was not a great one. I was warned before going to make sure I state specifically what services I needed as there are a ton of hidden fees. The staff seemed to be annoyed at my questions about what services were not covered under my insurance. The staff in general were not friendly. It took over an hour for me to be seen (with an appointment). The Dr. was knowledgeable and did a good job with my eyes but was also unfriendly. The first thing uttered out of his mouth was that it is illegal to order contacts online. I finished up my appointment and will not be going back.
Overall I believe Bard Optical in Galesburg provides excellent service although I wasnt very excited when I was told my new glasses were going to cost me over $600. I felt it was odd I wasnt even given any pricing options especially since they promote that they have cheap glasses as well but since this is like jewerly on my face, I decided it was worth the price. I did get a second pair of cheap sunglasses for free. About a year later a screw fell out of my glasses and they repaired them instantly and without a charge which shows they provide great customer service.
Im very upset. I made an apt for Feb 20. Been waiting over a month for this. Come to find out they are closed because of Prez day. Now i have to call them back tomorrow to resetup.

Never going back ever I went in for double vision got new glasses and he made my eye worse now got to go to another eye doctor to see what wrong and eye strain plz don’t go here got to Walmart the tell u more and help
My wife just took my son for a 9am appt. Dr arrived at 9:30am 30 minutes late and was rude to my wife the whole time. Needless to say, my son never finished his appointment. My family will not be treated this poorly and we will never go to this Bard optical again.

Just got new pair glasses from there.They were loose on my face,The girl tighten them up to tight causing headaches.I took them back.to get fixed again,young girl told me I cant help that they dont set on your face right.There still not right,I wont go back again..
