Plenty Korean food at reasonable prices. Clean & nice service...also additional stores inside the market make shopping more convience.
Always like shopping here. Lots of options and if youre looking for good Korean meat, I would suggest going here over H Mart. I feel like the meat is better quality. Other than that, this place has a lot more snacks then H Mart and some different items. Im sure you can get a lot more in LA oh, but this is good for Orange County. I think the same is good for the A. R. supermarket in Fullerton
This place is going down. Its filthy, a gas station looks better than this. In times of pandemic one would think they would stop selling side dishes where the virus can come in contact with the food. The staff is so lazy they dont even want to bag your groceries. They charge a ridiculous amount for these cheap item foods and their rude to their customers. Their trying to grow food in the back of the store where it comes in contact with stray cats which in turn can spread disease around the food their trying to grow along with polluted air from trucks and vehicles. No care for human health and safety just greedy profits at customers expense. They also sell excessive amounts of Cancer causing food which I now have because my mom didnt now any better and cant read English. Why are you selling these items in the first place when you know it causes cancer! Frustrating to find out once you get the item home that it will cause cancer. Shame on you!
(as of: 12/31/2020) It can be a hit or miss, but I still prefer AR over HMart because were helping not just the supermarket stay open but all the little shops at the entrance (which is a lot better variety then in HMart). Standard base price is still avg (but lower than HMart), but when there is a sale, expect to pickup a LOT in bulk. Ex. Soju, when on sale are usually at least $1 off its orig price, which is still a lot more affordable at normal price compared to HMarts prices. Rice Crackers, and sauces here are a lot better prices than the competitors. Instant noodles have a larger variety at a better price point as well. For all the front entrance shops, new Korean mfc KF-94 masks are available and provides better protection than the Chinese KN-95 non standard quality masks. Give them a chance and check out the sales they offer,... if youre a smart shopper youll be surprised to find amazing deals throughout the stores. Watch the complaints from other reviews... American products are more expensive, YES, this is mainly an Asian/Korean supermarket, they wont get a huge supply of Chee-tos chips, but their Choco-Pies are better valued here than it would be at say an Albertsons.
Good price! This place is for mostly Korean and other asians groceries you can be shopped. If you want, you can get ready to eat side Korean (반찬) dishes. It was an originally Korean grocery market but now, 70% shopers are Vietnamese-Americans nowadays. This market is normally busy. Management is spoken Multi-language English, Korean, Vietnamese and Spanish.
Strong smell and very run down inside. Was able to get meat for KBBQ though, and it turned out good. Would definitely look elsewhere though.
Relatively clean and tidy. Fresh goods, though I disliked the open self-fill kimchi bins. They should not do that in this covid climate where people can be infected and cough as theyre passing by.Staff was nice and the overall experience was positive.
If youve ever wondered what supermarkets look like in South Korea, look no further than Arirang Market in Garden Grove, California. Although the markets in Seoul, Korea, are much larger, there is still a similar look and feel to both. Im told that Arirang, which has been around for well over thirty years, is small compared to other Korean Markets found elsewhere in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.Virtually all Korean Markets rent out space to all sorts of vendors in front of the main store. Thats the case with Arirang as well. You can purchase ladies make-up, men and women clothing, eat lunch or have a snack, purchase insurance, and even buy electronics in the stalls in the front of the primary store.Whenever were in town, we take my mother-in-law to Arirang to get her major marketing done for the month. She speaks no English and doesnt drive, so visiting Garden Grove at least once a month is necessary. The prices at Arirang are reasonable, but compared to our only large Korean Market in Las Vegas (Greenland at Rainbow and Spring Mountain), the prices are low, and items and assortment are much more significant. For first-timers, Arirang is a unique experience. The vast assortment of items is extensive and probably unrecognizable to non-Koreans. The sounds, smells, and imported foods are very different from what youll find in an American Market. One thing for sure you will find is that Korean workers are not the friendliest of sorts (they have no patience) and sometimes can be downright rude by American standards. My wife, who is Korean, tells me its just their way, but I cant get used to it no matter theyre way or not.RECOMMENDED: YesSERVICE: Fair to midlandPRICE: $$COVID: Practices pandemic regulations.PARKING: Convenient but always packed.REASON/INTENT: General food marketing
Its a good store everybodys pretty friendly there they have some good things and its close by
Poor customer service. I arrived at this market 7:50pm and tried to enter for buying some groceries and some foods but the security guy did not allow me to enter and I said that why you did not allow me to enter. He said customers should arrive this market at least 20 minutes before closing time. Officially closing time is 8pm. I felt bad and and upset. I hope Zion market will launch as a new branch in Garden Grove.
The fish cleaning guy at the fish department on 08/27/21 early afternoon doesnt know how to serve customers, very rude and stubborn. I asked to slice the fish a little bit at an angle but he refused then cut it perpendicularly, not a good cut for fish stew. Also, he left the fish head as was instead of making it more like a food than once a life. I had to REDO the cleaning although I had paid extra $.50 / lb. They need to train him from A to Z.
U get anything this is one place for all product . U can get Fresh and branded products
This Supermarkets very good all Korean fresh foods styles, plus restaurants, clothes,etc...one stop shopping here..
So good so happy with the most update appointment system, so convenient for staff and customers. DMV has online queue with time lapse, text messages to let customers know how many people are in line, number to be called, and which window is served. DMV also reminds us what document to bring/be ready for quick process. It took me just 45 minutes to complete car registration renewal. Parking lot is spacy and lines are short. Thank you so much for your service, DMV!!
They carry variety of Korean food. However I have noticed that quality has been changed. Especially the meat. They put nice meat on top then hide fats under it. Not nice....
Been coming here for decades now. Love it. Best selection of Korean everything.
Not very clean, found some kind of bug/larvae in one of the bags I brought home from there. Never shopping here again.
I have been shopping at AR suppermartket for 30 years and I have noticed their service level has been deteriorated to bottom today... I purchased two boxes of meat and asked for a bag of ice at the fish department as I am to drive 30 miles during this warm weather. I was treated as a bagger by one of the fish dept. When I formally complained at the front desk for the mistreatment and one of front ofc worker named Yoon laughed at my experience, which is totally not appropriate! This shows the customer oriented service at this grocery store is at the rock bottom.. I urge management take actions to educate their workers to retain customers!!
Price is ok, seafood is very good price.
Great lots of Korean specialties, lots of shops and restaurants inside!!!! ❤❤❤
Awesome I found the sauce I need to make 🍣
We got marinated meat for bulgogi and some veggie sides. Store is a little bit messy but they have a lot of Korean and Asian stuff. Veggies all look fresh and clean. Better price than other big chain of Korean grocery store. We would love to go back again.
Fast service, good for buy and make your own Korean bbq meat.
I like this supermarket especially the fruits and vegetables, which are always fresh and reasonable price. Great selection of ramen noodles.
The workers dont have any respect to the costumers, they dont care about the Covid-19.I just want to get some green cabbage, I have to wait 10minutes. the work saw that I was going to get it but did not move an inch so I can get.I decided to go to the costumer service for him to go tell the worker to move 6ft, but he just tell me to get the cabbages when the worker was still stand right in front. To the owner, have to tell yours workers to stop and allow the costumers to get theirs produces first before they resume their job.
Lots of stuff if you are interested in Asian food. I think the meat department is excellent.
Throughout the many changes and growth of Garden Grove, Arirang Supermarket remains the establishment with the best deals and quality of Korean + other Asian groceries!
The kimchi i get here are the best! Their marinated meats ready to cook are delicious. My kids love the variety of snacks (honey butter chips, rice cakes) plus drinks like soy milk, banana milk, and yogurt drinks. They also sell ready to eat food like japchae, fried chicken, kimbap, and lots of banchan (side dishes). They have mini fuji apples and sweet kiwis (kids fav).Shopping here is very convenient for me. I come here buy and come home, I already have a weeks worth of ready to eat food, it requires little to no cooking. It saves me so much time.
They are mask mandating. I will no longer support this business....
_ Super Friendly Staff. Except a Korean Manager at Vegetable section who is rude to customer with verbal attack like approach. Hispanic staffs are super friendly._ Try marinated meat (Korean BBQ Ready to cook meat). Top restaurant quality marinated meat and manager at meat section is Super Friendly too.
Cheap Janpaneese beer. Plenty of fresh vegetable. Lot of great dumpling choices. Very friendly staff. A very decent shopping experience. Will visit again.
Overall, this place is good. Prices are good for Korean food but a bit pricey for American products. Quality is good overall. Their marinated beef, chicken, or pork are good. Something you can buy and just cook in the frying pan or for BBQ. Great prices when you buy sale items of the week. Korean snacks are really good and when buying at sale price, you can get so much for your money. Cleanliness is not bad.
Need better customer service with better lighting. tight parking spaces
Meat and produce are good. Doesnt have a good range of packaged snacks. Would not return since there are other markets in the area.
Worst manager ever. Rude and unproffesional customer service from the workers behind the counters. Unsanitary conditions i.e. meats are out on the counter and not in the fridge. Customers fighting and yelling in line and nothing is done by management. Masks not worn by some workers or customers. Overcrowding. Nothing is really enforced and safety is not a concern here which is very surprising especially during this pandemic.
Good kbbq department but on the expensive side, usually decent amount of cashiers working after working throu covid transitions/hoarding rush
Probably 4.5 stars, but closer to 5 than 4. This supermarket is in a busy strip mall with a variety of stores. The actual supermarket is well stocked and reasonably priced. It is not as tidy as others but its a worthwhile compromise.
Went to this store to buy korean marinade for my ribs
This location is bigger than the one on Brookhurst/Orangethorpe. I did notice this location does have more items on sale. There is a bakery shop inside the market...they have daily sales on pastries...10 items for $10. Restrooms are open for customers.
Couldnt find one speak English to help me find what I was looking for.
Great. In early no crowd
Best Korean banchan in orange county. I would argue they are better than koreatown supermarkets. Tastes home made without adding too many preservatives.
Great place to shop for my Korean food and vegetables. I love their special sales. Veggies are nice and fresh. I normally shop on weekdays so I can dodge the crowds on the weekends. Always look forward to following weeks events. I believe they have more sales on the weekends. Enjoy shopping at AR like we do.
Excellent place to do your grocery shopping at. They have a good selection of fish. There is a few inside restaurants that you can eat at prier to shopping or after shopping. The store is clean, and organized. There is some people throughout the store giving samples out. They have good prices.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE ONLINE!! I placed an order in February and have yet to receive. I have reached out through email and text (which their website recommends) and have heard nothing back. Will be reporting to business bureau.
A down to earth market with no fuss service. There is a great selection of Korean food specialties. On the weekends, there are sample stations throughout the store. My favorite is their pickled vegetables and seafoods, which I believe they make in house. If you are looking for affordable Korean food with a large selection, this is the place.
They have the best quality ready Marinated Korean BBQ & other type of meats. This is the place for your hot pot/Shabu Shabu needs. Excellent thinly sliced pork belly, ribeyes, vegetables galore etc. It’s always crowded so the narrow aisles doesn’t help. Not easy to find a parking either but I keep coming back for most needed items I don’t find anywhere else.
This is a worst customer service and there managers are very rude. I will not ever recommend this store to anyone.
The best Korean food in this place. Recommend it to everyone
This is very good for shopping Korea barbecue and products .
Good
Korean bbq beef marinated and great taste. Just grill it.
This is the place to go for genuine Korean teas! Pastrys too. Their produce is also very good. Enjoy your shopping experience, and learn new things.
Open as advertised, socially distant, fast (like 5 min for 2 watches) and only $5 for a watch battery change!
Awesome place to shop. The entire shopping area is filled with Korean stores so you can get some Korean made shoes, some Korean suits and ties, some Korean imported foods and all tastes and flavors. The food court inside is really good and I would recommend everybody come here to experience a little taste of the SK.
Great market with good quality products, and reasonably priced! Will definitely shop here again!
Good to buy many kinds of items from Asia.
Very rude people
I like the Korean side dish
Good Asian market where we usually get Korean bbq meats, kimchee, and some vegetables!! :) Busy, but still fast, on weekends
Think of your favorite produce and meat spot, now take that memory and throw it in the trash. AR supermarket is your new spot. Embrace your new, better life.
A lot of stuff. Not enough money. Tons of side dishes. Fresh kimchi. Love the frozen dumplings and sort.
Fun awesome amazing. Get the marinated beef--You wont regret it
The place to go for Korean grocery. All stuff you need to satisfy your Korean craving. Some product labels are in Korean only so bit difficult to decipher. Staff is not that helpful may be its language thing but have some patience and google to research and you will be ok
Best prepared food of any Korean market. Meats are fresh and priced lower than H Mart.
Its like a Korean Sprouts! Lots of different selections and fresh produce. Reasonable prices.
AR Market is my favorite Korean Supermarket. There are a large meat selections and a good fresh vegetables and fruits sections. Place is clean and price is reasonable.
Good quality and good price. Great meat market (for Korean seasoned meats), I would even say best Korean meat market (I even challenge it to K-Town). Banchan is self serve, take what you need and your charges by weight. This is my #1 Korean grocery store. They dont have all the Banchan I want, but know one ever does.
Good prices, has samples too. Sometimes a little crowded. Lots of variety for Asian groceries. Can buy Korean BBQ meat and kimchi in large, near bulk sizes.
Most of my Asian food supplies from this market and been shopping for over 25 years now
Fresh seafood, marinated meat, banchan, and a comfortable food court (korean, korean chinese, and bakery).
You can find good deals of fresh vegetables for kimchi makers. They also sell store made kimchi. Theres a self-served bar for Korean fermented dishes to go, I like the spicy salted squid here, currently $8.99 per pound as of Dec 2019. They have black soymilk and black sesame soymilk in lunch size boxes, on sales today $5.99 per box of 12-count
Nice place to shop
Lots of veggies and fruit selections at good price, good quality meat also.
This is a Korean supermarket. There are various kinds of Korean products(snacks, ramen, sauces, drinks and alchol, etc) and Asian products.Meats and fishes are available. Many vegetables and fruits are also available at good prices. There are free parking lots, public restroom and food court.Wheelchairs are accessible. If you like Asian foods or products, it is one of the right place.
This place is SCAM. I ordered through their website on Jan 27th, they sent half of them on March 4th without any apologies and still not sending nor refunding rest of them($139.92).
Bought their teriyaki and spicy chicken to cook at home. Delicious.
All employees are very kind and helpful.
Korean Market with a large variety of goods. Im addicted to Korean food and this place has all the items and ingredients I want. Their ready to cook Korean Barbecue meats are convenient and delicious.
I love this place!!! Im from Hawaii born and raised and Im also half Korean. This supermarket brings back memories from home and their prices and food are amazing! There is no better Korean place in this area. Thank you Arirang Supermarket 😁👍
Excellent Korean Mark can be very busy
This market is pretty clean and doesnt have the meat or fish smell permutating though out the market. The Octopus Salad is really good at $9 a pound and the squid in a sweet red sauces is tasty at $9 a pound.
Inexpensive, clean and wide variety of food, produce, snack. Sea food a fresh too. This supermarket has a great collection of sea weed (which I really love) from snack to kimbab to seaweed soup.
Good produce, fish etc
Out dated specially the product... sample test employees are unfriendly
Awesome Korean market to do grocery shopping for Asian foods. Theres a great meat section in the back that always provides the tastiest marinated meats. Makes BBQing on holidays a breeze.
Excellent fresh supply of veggies and fish. Great beef also and always clean clean clean. By far best location in area. 10+years and still top marks.
The foods are good but the price is little bit high .
Definitely stop by the food court area here. It is a must.
Good and affordable Korean food market! Their meats are good!
Good selection, doesnt look new but its clean
Good prices somewhat rude customer service. Ifeel like they hate that a non asian couple comes and disrupts their asian customers when i tried buying jewelry at another ar mart they just ignored me and pretended i wasnt there trying to talk to her.
Overall good Korean Market. Nice meat and seafood section.
I do all of my Korean grocery shopping here. Prices are decent and the food selection is awesome. The vegetables are fresh and meat selection in the deli is good too.
Good prices and great Korean sushi. Make sure to come before 12 for the sushi.
Lots of variety and premade items to purchase. Good prices, organized store.
