I have gone to this place 3 times to get propane each time they had some excuse why they cant fill them. Almost makes it worth while to just exchange them at walmart. VERY DISAPPOINTED
Richard Castro has the worst customer service skills. He is slow to respond and when he does respond it is short and essentially of no help. I ended up with some additional charges on a recent rental that I initially disputed but really just needed clarification on because I had 3 receipts reflecting varying other totals which appeared suspicious to me. I reached out to him via email on Apr. 26th and did not receive a response from him until April 28th only after I called Uhauls 800 number and the representative that addressed my questions filed a complaint that essentially forced him to respond to within 72 hours. His response was still not helping me to understand and he basically said attached is your receipt. Well, I had read that receipt multiple times already and it was not answering my question in regard to other totals. I followed up with two phone calls today which he did not respond to and I left a voicemail with my call back number. I finally called Uhauls 800 number again today and finally received the explanation of what all the numbers and totals reflected. NOW I UNDERSTAND! I will absolutely pay what I owe however I am not a Uhaul rep, what may be clear as day to Mr. Castro and any of the managers, directors, and reps at Uhaul IS NOT always clear to the customer who does not process these receipts in their formats and line items and jargon. If a customer presents him or her self to ask for explanation of charges made to her account, I dont feel that said managers, directors, and representatives should be so inconvenienced as to assist them with that. Keep this in mind when you conduct business with Mr. Castro at Uhaul Moving and Storage in Garland. Be informed as much as you can because he will not answer your questions.
4 days straight i have been to this store trying to get propane and get a different excuse why they cant do it. Now Im standing here in the young lady in here with green tinted hair that refused to give me her name and is telling me now there is no one here certified to do propane. What a load!Update...So todays excuse is the propane is down! wow it just keeps getting better

Only place within 1 hour of Whitewright that had propane! They filled all our tanks and were very friendly!! It was 16* outside and we were VERY PLEASED!! ❄️❄️❄️❤️❤️

Came in for a propane fill.Had two 20 pound tanks and one 30 pound tank to be filled. Started off as if they didnt care that there was an actual customer there but they recovered well enough and helped me.The gentlemen filled my two 20# tanks, no problem. Then he looked at the 30# tank and informed me that he could not fill it because it was out of date. I asked him what I needed to do about it and he told me to go trade it in for a new tank at Walmart.Now maybe Im wrong but Ive never seen 30# tanks (except the ones for forklifts) at Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, CVS, Kroger, or anywhere else that does propane exchanges. So now its become obvious that this guy has no idea what hes talking about. I smile and nod, go pay for the two 20# fills, and go to Collins in Wylie like Id thought about doing in the first place but for some reason didnt.The Collins guy looks at the 30# tank, tells me I still have 7 months until the tank inspection is due, and fills it.I go in to pay and the inspection requirements are posted right there on the counter. Initial cylinder inspection is required 12 years from the date stamped on the tank and then again every 5 years going forward. The date on my cylinder is 7-07.Now heres the math. Try to follow along. 7+12=19. This means that after midnight of July 31, 2019 my tank will need to be inspected before it can be filled again. The day I was in was December 26, 2018.This should be a one star review since U-Haul guy was either lazy or incompetent HOWEVER he earned two extra stars by forcing me to go to Collins where they charged me $23.00 for 30 pounds of propane versus the $40.00 for 40 pounds I paid at U-Haul. YOU do the math!!
I use this location to pick up vehicles for business purposes. They answer the phones quickly, they are always very nice and take care of us.
I reserved a cargo van I go to pickup Im then told because my driver license expires in 2 days I cant my I was told this is U-haul policy. I have rented from U-Haul on many occasions and never heard such foolery. So of course I called another location no problem.

The young lady at check out was the RUDEST lady Ive ever had the displeasure of meeting. She was rude to the customer before us too. Felt bad for the guy, and it was no better with us. She does not want to be there and its so obvious.

Ricky is completely on top of his game at this location. I used them twice to rent a car hauler and both times were flawless. He is a good manager and understands people very well. Reads the customer clearly and knows how to juggle many things at one time. Of course you have to be a good customer as well. If you are out of line it appears he could handle that too!!
The good reviews must be for a different location because when I went there it was the worst customer service I’ve had in a very long time. Doesn’t seem like any of them are happy to work here. Horrible customer service, spend your money somewhere else.
THIS USED TO BE A GREAT PLACE TO GO FOR PROPANE OR OTHER UHAUL RELATED ITEMS. DONT WAIST YOUR TIME AS THE NEW GIRL THAT WORKS THERE IS MORE WORRIED ABOUT HER CELL PHONE THAN HELPING ANYONE AND DID NOT WANT TO GET PROPANE FOR ME AS SHE FELT IT WAS TO COLD. I got a free storage unit for one month. I put my stuff in there and came back after a week or two.It was empty. I asked them where is my stuff and they said we see no notes we don’t know.And now they charged me 120 dollars and plus late fee for a storage that I did not use.I have been on the phone for the past 20 minutes to deal with thisNever use this location or the company itself
So they auctioned all of my childhood belongings with no phone call, no verification, and offered zero retribution. If I had been smarter at the time I would have taken them to court. Now I look at it as a lesson in materialism.This was years ago, but since Im back in the area now; I thought it is worth putting out there so other people beware. These grabass jokers mistake my unit number for another unit that was behind in payments. I had prepaid for 12 months when I came back nine months before those twelve months were over - my key did not fit my lock. I proceeded to the office only to find myself in line with a bunch of unhappy people, gets to be my turn, no sir we have no notes that we changed the lock if your key doesnt work you can pay a locksmith to come out or cut it off yourself. So I go purchase bolt cutters and return to snip the metal lock around the forged circular bolt, finally get it open and my heart sinks as the door rises to an empty unit. So back to wait yet another hour in line. Talk with the manager - He tells me my belongings had been accidentally marked for auction and the only course of action was for them to pass along my contact information to the winning bidder and inform them I want my stuff.
I would have preferred a phone call when they were finished installing my hitch. They wouldnt answer the phone the 3 times I called so I had to finally just get a ride and ask in person. When I got there, it had been done for a while. Other than that, everything was good.

If I could give a rating less than 1 star, I would.We recently rented a truck for 2 days, and at the end if the second day we realized that it works be late getting it back. So I spoke with the young woman that set everything up.Our original charge was $84 and some change for 2 days, a dolly, and a large appliance dolly with an estimation of 40 miles.Upon returning the truck, I was charged an additional $29. I figured ok, probably went over on mileage.Today, Im looking at my credit card statement, and was billed 2 charges-$169 and $6. Keep in mind that when I took the truck back I had already paid for the mileage.So total cost over $200 for 2 days, when I was PROMISED there would be no additional fees.Go elsewhere for your truck rentals.

We recently purchased a historic home right around the corner from this U-Haul location. We rent trucks frequently because we are renovating parts of our property. I have now rented from this location three times and I can tell you that the staffs attitude is horrible. I’m not sure who they’re used to dealing with in there, but if you’re the manager and you’re reading this, why don’t you come over and we’ll talk about it, I’m across the street.Just today, I went in to rent a pick up truck and was told I needed a major credit card to rent a van or a pick up truck I can’t tell you how many times I’ve rented a pick up truck or van from U-Haul with my debit card. I made a personal choice not to use credit cards a very long time ago. He explained to me that uhaul corporate had recently changed their policy. I find that interesting since I just rented van three days ago with no issues from a different location.I immediately called U-Haul corporate and was told that UHaul has no such policy, this man lied to my face.They would however, rent me a box truck, which makes no sense. The guy at the front desk was rude, inpatient and his attitude was just not what it needed to be. It’s a real shame since this place is right around the corner from the house, but it really makes me not want to use them.

I got a unit last month on the 24th of August went to check today, I was shocked to find my unit had been emptied and my items auctioned . Manager Richard Castro said it was emptied 3 days after i got the unit which was the 27th of August. He said u haul assumes that units without a lock are abandoned. A lock wasnt offered to me when I got the unit which is part of uhauls criteria . I asked isnt there a list used to confirm abandoned units, and manager confirmed yes. Well, I never received a phone call from uhaul. No compassion as to how uhaul could fix the issue . All I got was Im sorry maam from the manager. Even the other worker there stated this wasnt supposed to happen. Sorry, cant replace the items I lost of sentimental value of my deceased mother. Im hurt and very frustrated as to how this establishment has concerns for their customers.
Had a black lady check me in after returning uhaul. Rudest person I have ever experienced with. She does not need to be working there. Answering her own phone call instead of helping customers and she smelt like weed! And downright being mean acting like its a problem to help anyone that came in. And on top of that she charged me 182 miles when I only went 67 miles total and she had the audacity to tell me to take a picture next time its your fault for not paying attention and charged me 8.50 for gas when i left it where its supposed to be at... baisically ripping me off. She had no knowledge of doing her job because she kept blaming the other nice hispanic lady working there. I hope yall fire her because it seems when the manager is not there she can do and talk however way she wants. No wonder yall have bad reviews. Yall need to hire better people. And i hope the lady that helped me does better becasue youre an awful person. Save your time and make a trip the the other location in Garland. This place is not worth it AT ALL!
What a terrible center. truck was not full of fuel when i rented it drove 90 miles i put in 20 gallons in just before returning it, still they made a extra 50 dollar charge on my card. Then somehow not sure how my credit card started getting fraudulent charges made on it from out of town. RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK...

No one was there who could fill our RV propane tank at 4:40pm. Employees not helpfull at all and dont seam to know much.

This U-Haul has gone downhill. I called to have a State inspection on a 14 foot dual axle cattle trailer and they wanted to charge me over 100.00. Everyone else is 7.00. I wanted to use these guys because they are close to my home. I have had several other issues with them and this just sealed the deal of not going there anymore. If I could give them negative stars I would.
I went to this location to rent a furniture dolly at the last minute during a move. Rick helped me out and got me a dolly. He was very helpful and polite. I definitely recommend working with this location!
Hit or miss. Been helpful sometimes, but when you call you can be told one answer and then after driving there it is different....
Ive talked to 4 employees at this location during my last 4 visits. Not one of them was friendly or welcoming. They all felt like they hated their jobs and annoyed that they had customers. And now Im even being charged $16 for gas. I made sure and even left the gas filled a little over what it started on. If I could I would give no stars.

Trash bag of old food was in cab. My bill was $73.00 and $942.00 was charged to my debit card because the guy checking milage on return put the wrong milage down. Its been 2 days and money is still not in my acct.
U- Haul central of Garland. Can get busy. Some of the staff is great, but one of the women who works there acted like she was afraid of chipping her nails unhooking my trailer. Sorry honey, but if you work at U-Haul, you might have to get your hands dirty.

SLOW with NO CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MIND. Customer service isn’t telling you jokes or giving excuses while taking an hour to do 10minute task.... not uncommon to take 45 min or longer to get out of here.
If youre in a hurry go elsewhere. Did express check in and still stood in line for 40 minutes while multiple employees were standing around talking about various things unrelated to here. Other employees came in asking the only person working the counter to help with propane as well.
All UHauls seem to be understaffed. This guy is no different. But the employees are much more patient with customers being impatient.
Always crowded but they get through the line fairly quickly if you have all your info. They always have the best selection of trailers and trucks.
9:00 pick-up reservation. It’s 9:30 and I’m still waiting. Not my first time at this place but the service is this slow everytime.

Worst U-Haul ever!!! Last time I went they took like 30 min to get a truck ready they wanted me to inspect it had big scratches that were not even marked with the sticker. This last time I went I rented for 24 hrs the guy only put in the computer for 5 hrs only. We put $15 off gas we only did 30 miles and when I got my bill back they charge me $30 for not putting “gas”.

Employ more people! Called this morning beforehand to refill a small propane tank. Lady on the phone said sure, come, so I drove, when I got there only 1 employee working inside the store, people in and out, when I asked that lone employee he said I should wait. WelI, I stayed 30 min waiting and nobody came to help nor my tank was filled. I left knowing that at this location U-Haul does not care about customers a lot.

I was very frustrated when it took over an hour to pick up a trailer I had reserved and paid for. There wasnt a huge line. The basic problem was inefficient operation. The trailer I was given had exterior damage that wasnt clearly marked as preexisting.

This place charged me for 8 days of use that I did not accrue. They did not call me to discuss it, just sent me a bill for $703.00 and they do not answer their phone when called.

I went to rent a trailer to pick it up at Childress Tx. When he arrived there they told me that he did not have anything there that I had to pick up 70 miles from the place, to charge me if they were on time bad service.
