Went to the store to have a battery charged that was brought there. Forgot my tools to take the battery off. Asked the store clerk if he had something to take the battery off, he looked at me dumbfounded and said I can sell you some tools. But the sign on the window says free loaner tools. Last time ever shopping at Advance Auto

Ron and Dee gave us great customer service. We went to Auto Zone first and the experience was horrible. Came here and not only did they have the part we needed but they helped us with installation. Their prices were alot cheaper as well. This will be the only store I come to for my car needs. Thank you for the pleasantly professional experience.

Slow service. Only one cart for replacing batteries. Had to wait for a customer to get their battery replaced prior to mine even though I got here earlier. Car batteries for my 2016 Subaru Outback keep dying. My last battery was replaced November 2019. I am back December 2020 to replace it. Not sure if I will be a repeat customer.

Went to this store for a few parts of my car, but the customer service Mr. Brandon was not interested in helping. He gave me 5 digits to go and locate a box on wall while he is behind the counter. I was only one customer in store! I left and went to the OReilly auto parts. Two gentlemen there were awesome. Hope, I will not need to go back to Advanced auto parts on hwy70 garner. Management need to read these reviews and make right decision for their business.

Clerk not sure of which oil should be purchased. He said that synthetic was the same as regular blend oil. Mechanic told me later that I shouldnt mix them.

Wont be going here anymore. We requested to have a battery test and were asked to stand aside while the person checked out the person behind us. We waited for 15 minutes while everyone else was getting checked out. Then we decided to leave and as we were walking out the same person said he would do our battery check next. We patiently waited and after he finished with the person he was checking out left and he called the next person up again and ignored us. Pretty lousy service. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

This location on behalf of their manager Renee deserves a excellent customer service recognition. I live in Baltimore, MD and I was assisting a friend who needed a car battery ASAP. I am a committed customer to Advance Auto and contacted the Garner location and was greeted by Renee. She was patient, understanding and exuded confidence that my friend should come to the store at her convenience. The installation purchase was completed by Renee personally while she waited in a reasonable amount of time. No tricks or no games the way it should be! I had the absolute worst customer service that I have ever had. I went to get a new battery for my truck. It was about 8:30pm when I arrived, store closes at 9. Brandon was who helped me. He would not look at me! He would only look at the screen or the battery tester or anything except me. Barely said a word except to ask year/make/model of the truck and which battery I wanted. He asked if I was going to turn in the old one tonight or bring it back. I replied that Id turn it in tonight if we could install it. Didnt say a word, just clicked.We walked outside, I held the door open for him as he wheeled the cart out. Not a word. He replaced the battery and when he finished tightening the positive cable clamp he just said youre all set. Then put the tools on the cart and went inside.Im a relatively friendly guy to retail people. I know it can be a hard job. Ive very rarely if ever not been able to win over someone who isnt talkative. I dont know what Brandons issue was tonight but it was the most uncomfortable Ive ever been with an auto parts guy.

I have shopped at advanced for well over ten years at different locations all because of the prices and the amazing customer service I have received. BUT THIS STORE ON HIGHWAY 70 is by far the worst store I have ever been to. Absolutely rude, unprofessional, unknowledgeable, and careless staff I have ever dealt with. Only one or two staff members are polite. Even the store manager every time I go in is rude. Fire these people and hire someone else. I have never been told I couldn’t use a scanner tool in the parking lot and then the manager didn’t even offer. She just got an attitude with me so I left. I will never shop at this store again. I would rather drive 30 minutes to the next one. To bad corporate will never see this because it it an awful store that they need to get control of.

Not friendly at all! I asked could I get a reading for my check engine light. The guy said I had to wait. There were no customers and 3 other staff members and all of them were standing around talking. Then 5 or 6 minutes later when they finished their irrelevant conversation not pertaining to work he came outside and gave me a piece of paper with the reading didnt even try and see if I wanted to purchase the part in the store.

My Go to place for when I need something for the truck..Unfortunately, lately Ive been there a lot.. But! This gives me a better opportunity to tell you what Ive experienced#1 the staff is always courteous and theyll look up parts for you Im a heartbeat, to ensure you get the right one.#2 military discount makes it worth my time to walk in and see what upgrades I want to pick up.#3 theres usually a store real close by when I need one.So, if one store doesnt have the part I need, theyll have it shipped to the store. Or, because Im impatient and want it now, theyll look it up and tell me what store to go to and call that store to tell them Im on my way.

Bought a Gold $150 battery a year ago. Came in to get it replaced and they said I had to have the receipt they couldn’t look up the purchase otherwise. I drove home got the receipt returned and they said it wasn’t bad. Won’t start my truck and had it tested at auto zone and it’s bad and the alternator tested good. On top of that the female manager was incredibly rude about it all. I will not be going back to this location.

Poor customer service/people skills and dishonest. The girl here (Rene?) would not allow me to return a brand new battery jumper set because it was their “electronic policy” I had my receipt (purchased On sept 1) and the item was brand new, nothing wrong, just not what my boyfriend needed. I thought this seemed strange so called corporate to inquire about the return policy and they called the store and the manager lied to corporate about why it was returned and made up some bogus policy to me to deny my return. The girl at the register didn’t even bother to look at the item or recipet to check the condition or purchase date. She instead sharply cut me off. There was no reason for her to deny the return and be as rude as she was. I went to another advanced auto up the street and they took it back no problem. They looked at it, seeing it was still in perfect and new condition, something this store didn’t even bother to do. I got my refund without any issue. Avoid this place and their ATTITUDE. True lack of professionalism and basic skills here.

They were incredibly unhelpful during the entire process of trying to replace my battery, and even upon presentation of the original receipt from 4 years ago of the original battery purchase, declined the warranty that was clearly stated of 5 years. They werent able to pull up any of my data as none of their systems are connected. They offered to give me 25 dollars off of buying a new one, but only if I waited for 40 minutes for them to charge the battery and retest it after they had already gotten a report back saying the battery was bad. When asked about the warranty process, they claimed that there was no written documentation of their warranty system. When I declined, and said I was going to another car shop down the road, it took them 20 minutes to put my car back together and lost 2 bolts in the process. I will not be returning here, and I would not suggest it to anyone who values their time or money.

I went to Advance Auto Parts on 70 in Garner, to replace my battery which has a warranty on it and the associate told me that he couldn’t change my battery because it was too dark, in which the store has a spot light on the front of the store, SO I went to O’Reilly Auto Parts off Olympia Dr. right down the street and paid for a new battery AND they were more than willing to change my battery as well! ADVANCED AUTO PARTS has poor customer service and this is one less customer they have to deal with!

I needed to do an ac recharge on a 95 Chevy work pickup. I purchased the refrigerant and went home only to discover the can was defective. I went back for a replacement and they were helpful and apologetic that I had to go back. Took care of the problem at the store and drove off chillin!

I went to the garner location and was very disappointed. David helped me . But with that kind of help I would of rathered gone to auto zone. There was a discount on five courts of oil and it came with a free filter. But my cars filter wasnt in the promo. Ok no big deal Ill take the oil and my filters. Then he proceeds to charge me full price for the oil never saying anything about promo price being almost half the cost for the oil. So I say. Can you please give me the oil for your promo price he says no you dont have the right filter for that promo. Hmmm but if I did my oil would be about half the price. So then I say ok give me a filter he says I cant unless you have a particular car. What? Honestly Dave customer service is not suggesting the customer go down the street to your competitor. It is helping the customer and giving them the best deal you can. Long story short I gave him a make and model of a car so he could give me the oil for the promo cost.. Dave if I had the time I would of gone down the street because I dont accept rudeness and people trying to take advantage of people.I suggest next time Dave just inform the customer if they dont take a filter their oil will be almost double the cost dont try to take advantage pat your sales on the very people who help put your paycheck into your pocket your customer great opportunity to gain a customer but instead you lost one for ever.

Horrible staff, they dont offer the loaner tools as specified online. Only specialty tools can be loaned. I bought a brand new socket today to find out I didnt need it, now the wont accept a return even with the receipt until the manager comes back the next day. I will never come back here after this. Go to the one in Raleigh off Western Blvd.
