Employees at this store are as useless as the masks they force you to wear. Came in to pick up my iPhone which was ordered online. Showed up exactly during my scheduled appointment time, with an expectation to be out quickly. Immediately upon entry was asked to put a mask on by security, OK their house their rules I guess, however it got worse from there. The first employee that approached immediately proceeded to say that the mask needs to be COMPLETELY over the nose, and only then proceeded to ask why we are there. I told him that I have an appointment and provided him with my QR code for the pickup which he immediately scanned. We were then told to wait by one of the tables. Waited 15 minutes with nobody helping us even though there were more employees at the store than customers. Only the security guard came by again to harass me about the mask slipping slightly off my nose. Finally the same guy who scanned my QR code comes by again to ask why we were there... Apparently the lack of oxygen from the mask has affected his memory from 15 minutes ago. I explain the second time. Then another employee comes out, and the first thing he says (you guessed it!) that the mask needs to be completely over the nose, and then AGAIN asks why we came. Clearly this indicates that the focus of Apple (or at least this store) has become policing an agenda rather than helping customers. If they were that worried about spreading germs they wouldnt have kept us there nearly 20 minutes. Downright awful experience.

Creepy experience with the security guard. The guy asked me to pull my mask up even though it was already covering my mouth and nose (Im not an anti-mask advocate and always wear one in public). Then he proceeded to stare me down for the next 15-minutes while I was waiting for my order. It made me feel very very uncomfortable. Finally, I just left without my order. I will purchase future Apple products at another location or online. Not sure why he was so interested in me. Ive never been arrested for anything. However, he just kept looking directly at me the entire time I was in the store. Creepy!

As an Apple Developer, this was The worst experience I’ve ever had when looking to purchase a new product. Rude staff, incompetent and overly sensitive… it was as if they are probing for personally identifiable information in order to track information about you that has nothing to do with your intent to purchase an item. They want to CONTROL every aspect of your experience, from telling you: “Stand here in this line”, when there is literally no identifiable line outside the door, nor is there anyone else outside wanting to go inside the store. Once inside, “walk this way”, “Sit and wait here,”. Like, I’m not here to take orders, and if I was, you’re not in a position to be giving them. That’s when you realize that, at least at THIS store, YOU WILL BE OBEDIENT! So if you’re into that kind of behavioral conditioning, maybe that’s for you. But if you prefer to be free and live free, buy your Apple products from Best Buy. This store and the staff in it are into some weird unspoken, but internally understood type of social experiment that even as an Apple Developer myself, I’ve never seen or read about in any fine print. There was no greeting at the door. They start off with “Stand here in this line” that doesn’t exist. Then they ask: first and last name, Apple ID, government ID, email address etc.. then they scan your forehead for temperature check. Then they ask what you’re there for. Like whoa, I didn’t realize this was a Chinese embassy.

MacBook Pro that stopped working. Black screen, nothing. After trying different power cords and different boot sequences online, still nothing. I took to this store and they took it in back for about 4 minutes and said it must be the logic board and I needed a new computer or new board. All data would be lost either way. I purchased a new one at over 3K and they said they would give the same military discount in-store that I can get online. They didnt give the discount on the receipt. They tried to hold onto the old computer as well. I had to ask for it back. After leaving I decided to try alternate IT repair place. I returned the computer I bought the next day and let IT do their magic. He sent it to a place in FL where they analyzed for loose or broken connections that can be easily fixed (I suggested a broken power button in the store). In a week my computer was back from FL and up and running for a few hundred bucks. So much for it being the logic board and needing to lose all my data plus spend 3K+ on a new one. This is not the kinda of BS IT help I expect from the experts at a high end computer store. Go elsewhere if you have an issue. They want to sell you a new one rather than help solve your issue appropriately.

This may not be an Apple Flagship store, there arent any in Arizona, but out of all the other locations in the state it truly puts the best foot forward.Be warned, this place is no secret and is busy from door opening til door closing! You will wait for service despite the fact there area always about 20 Apple employees working around, the volume of traffic is just so high its hard to manage. Now, once you get served by a staff member, the Apple experience will start. These people are not just passingly knowledgeable about something in the store, almost every staffer Ive worked with has always had knowledge about every product in the store in some way and never has a question about where it would be located.Technical Services, great at this location but...MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. The Genius Bar is great, but if you think youre just going to walk in for a chat with someone think again. In order to properly service as many customers as possible, walk-in spots are severely limited and they work mainly off an appointment system on their website. Once you sit down you can rest assured you will find some resolution to your problem, be it repair or replacement needed. All in all, one of the best Apple Locations Ive ever been to and I make this my stop whenever one of my devices needs service.

I live in North Mesa so the Scottsdale store is closer to me but i told the Sara from apple phone support to set up my store appointment at the Santan location as i know the staff are more customer oriented with great customer service compared to the rude, missing people/social skills staff at the Scottsdale location. Apple needs to send the Scottsdale staff to Santan store for customer service on the job re-training. I would rather deal with a machine/robot or automation than deal with staff at Scottsdale store. Apple needs to get their act together about COVID mask rules. Its their right to require masks despite their not being needed anymore for many people. I have no problem with that but their constant, and rude, harping about someones mask skipping even a millimeter off the tip of their nose is terrible customer interaction. Im so frustrated I will be returning my entire purchase, despite knowing Ill be harassed by draconian mask police while Im in the store. Then I will go purchase the exact same products at Best Buy who treat their customers with respect and not require a mask for those who have been vaccinated. Rather than make a scene, I took it but one of the employees said I still couldn’t go in without an appointment. I asked why and he said that there wasn’t any experts available but he could slot me in 45 minutes from then. So they expected me to stand outside in 100 degrees just to wait for an “expert”. I told him I didn’t need anyone, I just wanted to buy it and leave as I’ve had Apples for years. He wouldn’t capitulate so I left. I still ended up waiting outside with an elder for nearly half an hour with no shade or water. I get that they have some thing about social distancing and making purchases. But if they are going to make you wait outside in this heat past your reservation time then the company policy might need to be changed for southwestern states. Also the temperature check feels sorta pointless as dark colored skin warms up more under sunlight than light color skin. Also saw several customers while I was waiting who didnt act very happy about the situation. Overall the specialist I saw was nice and helpful and is probably the only reason why they get more than 1 star. I will update this post eventually when they improve the customer experience.

I didnt have the money at the time but the representative let me know I could come back within 30 days and they could do the service for me. Three weeks later I called ahead to make sure they didnt need anything else before I came in to get the service done. I was told nope just come on in and we will take care of it. I arrived and for some reason they had to run the diagnostic again, I guess to make sure nothing new was wrong. Keep in mind I cant even power the laptop on without it being plugged in so no changes have occurred the laptop just sat in the corner for the last 3 weeks. After the diagnostic was run now no new problems were found but the price was now $750 instead of $600. When asked why the amount went up I was told that my 5 year old laptop was now considered vintage which for some reasons means the cost to repair is suddenly higher. Personally I buy Mac products because they last, my last Macbook pro lasted 9 years before I purchased this one. Short version I am not pleased. I am going to try another repair shop to see if they can possibly fix this 5 year outdated technology for less than $750.

Mixed feelings and overall disappointed. Dropping off my laptop was ok, long line outside even though I had an oppiontment but technician was friendly. He ran some tests and couldnt diagnose and gave me a choice to wipe laptop now or leave laptop for further diagnostics that would take 48 hours. They called two days later to ask my permission to wipe and would be another day to collect. This is something I told the technician they could do when I dropped it off. Lack of communication between employees and records of initial meetings with customers. I asked if they could stick to the 48 hours as I was leaving the country the next day and needed my laptop. If she had of said no, I would have just picked it up and brought it back after my trip. Olivia kindly reassurd me that they could do this today. She said they would work on it next and have it done before end of the day and to come in at 5.30 to collect, they close at 6. I drove for an hour to get there and the roads were clear so I got there a little earlier. The ladies outside checking ppl in asked me my oppointment time, realised I was early and just told me to come back later. From what I could see no effort was made to let the technician know that I was waiting or in the area. I walked arround in the AZ heat for 20 mins or so and returned just prior to oppointment. I tried checking in and lady at door made a snotty comment reminding me that these things take time, no effort to interact with me, she was simply rude and was only interested in speaking personal stuff with the other employee. During this time waiting outside the door in the heat, I could see that most employees inside and outside the store were just standing around talking to one another, only a couple were interacting with customers. One male employee came out and did an air secret handshake with one of the employees on the door, before returning inside. No interaction with me, standing just there. Finally another employee came out and he went to check status of my laptop. He was helpful. He came back out, giving me the option to continue walking arround or wait inside. By this time Im covered in sweat and felt faint so I opted to sit inside. They told me that my laptop had another 2 mins on the bar. Santiago was my tech and was professional with good customer service skills. Although he came out starting a conversation with we close in 10 minutes that looked like I was not going to get my laptop that day... after explaining my situation, he said that he would make an exception to ensure that I got it today, even if this was after closing. He kept me up to date with progress every 10 mins or so. However, during this time multiple employees made comments about me behind the door at the back, which isnt soundproof. Where I am travelling tomorrow is none of the employees business and if I decide to collect my belongings prior to travel, that is up to me. The fact they were discussing this between themselves in a mocking manner is highly unnacepunacceptable. During this time the store closed, adding to the gossip. The male employee who had come outside earlier to do an air handshake sequence instructed the other employees to go home or finish training. I was shocked that this person was the store manager but on reflection, this made sense. 15 mins later I was still sitting at a table and the hi fiveing manager came over to me and asked my name, looked my name up on ipad, followed up and confirmed what I already knew. I have always sworn by Apple products and their customer care. I was truly disappointed with this experience. Hopefully laptop is fixed, if not I will be taking it to a different store. In my humble experience as a manager with 10+ years experience, this is a management issue. The manager priorotises friendships with employees over providing excellent customer service, a common mistake with inexperienced managers. As a result the atmosphere has become so relaxed that employees are now being rude to customers without consequence. This store is damaging Apples reputation.

Lydia sanitized our old phone, got us started with swapping sim cards and the automatic transfer of everything to the new phone, then took care of other customers while our phones completed the process. Once complete we made sure everything was working, and then Mike helped with wiping the contents of the old phone in preparation for the trade in process. I understand covid but there was NO ONE SHOPPING. It makes no sense. I should’ve been able to go in and grab my stuff, I knew what I was there for. And I could’ve purchased it all on my Apple Store app. I could’ve been in an out. And they ask you to wait in line when you first get there, only to tell you after waiting in the hot sun, that you need an appointment to shop. LOL Apple you suuuuuuuuuck and this is not the “Apple Experience” I’ve been lead to believe. Everything seemed 10 times more complicated than it needed to be. Coming from a Apple user of 10+ years... fix your store protocols. And quit making it such a long process just to shop... I don’t want to jump thru hoops and hurdles for an overpriced case and charger...

Its still closed! When will u open? Come on, everything else is open! At least keep up with the other stores in the mall. You only get one star because I cant post without it. You should be no stars!

Im giving it 5 stars because they had a security team set up outside, with misters. Limited amount of customers within the store.Too much fuss and a waste of $$$, from this happy Android user.

The worst customer service experience, ever!Went there to buy my wife the new Apple Watch for her Birthday and they literally kicked me out for not wearing a mask, after I told them I couldn’t wear one for medical condition.Over 25 years of loyalty buying IPhones, IPads and Watches, this is the kind of service I get from a company that strives itself on the ultimate customer experience? This is what happens when a big corporations stops caring for the little guy and think they are too big to fail. Ultimately, this kind of policy will be their own demise.I guess I’m going Samsung to buy my wife a new watch. I’ve been to their store and every other place in the valley during this COVID-19 and they have always found a way to accommodate my condition.Never going back to Apple again. I’m done!

Can’t say enough great things about the team here. I was helped right away with both my online purchase I made, as well as my Genius Bar appointment. Matt was super friendly, knowledgeable about the products, and as added bonus, was able to solve my problem super quickly. I’ve had nothing short of awesome experiences every time I’ve been here. Thanks for all your help.

It’s an Apple phone so of course it had to be replaced!I visited this store with an appointment 2 weeks ago for more issues my phone is having and was told my replacement phone would be in 1 week ago today. Called this store today 30 November 2020 and was given the same lame excuses many businesses are using to be lazy now, instead of stepping it up. The only thing she would guarantee is that I would get it back this year. Substandard for product expense!

This location is FANTASTIC! I have been here multiple times over the years but twice this week. Every employee that helped me was incredibly nice and sincere— most importantly though, they knew their stuff (software, hardware, policies, etc). They listened to me, answered all of my questions, and repaired my phone in about an hour. Visit during the business week before 3PM to avoid crowds and long waits.

There are few examples of great customer service any more. As an executive at an ad agency, I am consistently exposed to both the good and the bad when it comes to the retail and hospitality industries. The ever present reality in which these spaces live is that expectations remain sky high and the willingness for patience can be incredibly low. When I came into the store for my scheduled repair, I was greeted by a young woman who was more than glad to help me with my situation. She listened to my concerns and set forth with a plan to help me. I had to return later that night with my laptop to do a data swap. I was greeted by Drew who put me at ease that everything would be done as soon as possible. I explained that the laptop in question was the primary source for my work as the head of digital for our agency. He kindly acknowledged the importance of the data transfer and reminded me he would do everything he could. A Short 15 hours later, my laptop transfer was complete and I could begin working again. I spoke with the manager on duty, Charlotte, about my experience, but thought it was worth while to tell you as well.In a world where so few people show passion for their chosen career path, the good people at the Apple store in Gilbert, Arizona really do care about the impact they have on their customers.

Austin was super helpful, knowledgeable, and worked with us on our device trades, and he helped to make me feel confident about my purchase. Didn’t give a full 5 stars because when we first got there, the person that greeted us didn’t seem like he knew what he was doing and it seemed like we had to wait a while when there were a bunch of employees not helping others.

Called in before going there to see if I could pick up and finance an iPad pro through at&t. The associate told me I could. I went in then was told I could not. And Ive never had any good luck with apple or their stores or associates. So... Yeah. Every time after years i go in expecting a positive experience. It never happens.

I had some issues with my phone about a week ago, and when I came in for it to be fixed, the employees were absolutely awesome. They explained every step, and even offered me a loaner phone since my phone had to be shipped out to be fixed and it would take a few days for it to be back. When I came back to pick it up, the employee (I wish I had his name to mention, but he had a dark beard and hair and white gauges, was very personable) was the greatest ever. I was notified that my phone was ready at about 7:30 and I got to the store at about 8:20. I work in the mall and had to be at work by 9, so I asked the employee about how long it would take and he made the process so fast and continually made sure everything was going smoothly. He really sensed that I was in a rush and accommodated me to the best of his abilities. Excellent customer service.

Apple support in store has become completely useless. Even if Apple says something is repairable, the store will tell you its not and instead try to sell you a new phone. I miss the days when the geniuses werent only salemen.

Honestly, this store is never pleasant to go in because the crowd volume is so high almost always.Today was the 3rd time Ive been here for the same reason, a phone (for the Mrs). They said around 20 minutes and we happily agreed. An hour and 10 min later we finally we attended to. This was only a problem because I had my baby with me and thats never a friendly time period to wait. (This happened last year as well. )With that said. The staff was friendly and smiling always. They were knowledgeable and once I was seen from start to finish was about 25 minutes. It was nice to get it done.Good clean store.
