When we started our remodel we had no clue about local flooring companies. We knew the brand of floor we wanted, Gaia. Five Star Flooring was a recommended dealer so we went to see them. Joe and Roger were very down to earth and patient and we definitely got a good vibe from them. We decided to go with them for our rip out and replacement.Upon tearing up the floors we found major problems. The guys at Five Star were at our home immediately to help us work out a solution. Within minutes they had a very good plan to move forward. The issues were corrected within a day and the install the flooring and baseboards the following day. This could have been a contentious mess but these guys are pros and made a rough situation much easier.The floors look amazing and we are so pleased. You can trust these guys. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Joe and Jerry have worked on our rental house in Saratoga and Campbell and my office in Los Gatos and done a very professional job, great attention to details and nice job. I am happy to refer them to our friends and would always call them again for any other flooring job we need.Both are also very nice and easy to work with. In our case, the original plans changed. They were quite flexible. We added few more things as work was going on and Jerry was quite adjusting and gave some good suggestions on new changes we wanted to make to bathroom flooring. Two years later, the tenants damaged one of transition pieces. I called Joe and next day Jerry stopped by with a replacement piece and quickly fixed it. Nine months ago Five Star installed vinyl planking in our old hardwood entry way, den and carpeted family room. The entire process from quote to finish was awesome. Timely response, very price competitive, upgraded material, on-time performance, installers’ expertise, professionalism, and respect for our home and belongings were amazing. So much so that just recently we also had them do our downstairs living room, hallway, master bedroom and a regular bedroom. Owner Joe and installers Jerry and Jose are a pleasure to work with. Their knowledge isn’t limited to just putting a floor down, they also are well versed in carpentry, electrical, subfloor preparation, etc. During my recent installation subfloor dry rot was discovered which they easily replaced with no hassle on my part. They also give the extra touch ensuring their new stuff visually and mechanically blends with your old stuff. When they pack up and leave you don’t have to do anything. Just grab a beer and enjoy your new floors. If small businesses want to know how customer satisfaction is done right, just simply watch these guys. Side note: I see a one-star-no-commentary review here in Google. That’s not very helpful for people trying to select something. If you’re really unhappy with Five Star tell us why, otherwise why bother? One might assume you are competition and wish to skew their rating.

After getting a quote from Home Depot of $13,500 and finding out I would have to hall the flooring in myself, then having them tell me they would charge me for “excessive furniture moving” when all that was in the house was a washer and dryer, two mattresses and a mid sized fridge I was frustrated. I walked into Five Star Floors where joe was there to educate me on flooring. He showed me a few samples he suggested and gave me space to make my own decision, Mind you I am horrible at making decisions. I picked carpeting and a vinyl I liked. Roger came and measured the next day. I called back and totally changed my mind on the color of flooring, Erin answered and was very helpful and understanding with my inability to make a decision. “Honey, this is going to be in your home and you have to look at it everyday, we want you to be happy ” after settling on a vinyl I liked they came out within a couple weeks and took two days to install all flooring. Carpet up-stairs, vinyl downstairs and NEW BASEBOARDS. The installers worked nonstop from 0800 to 1630 they were prompt, friendly and explained the layout in which they’d place the flooring.I am very happy with our floors and the excellent customer service of Five Star Floors!

I also ordered the carpet, laminate flooring, and new baseboards through Lowes and had Five Star do the install. The crew was only two guys. They showed up on time, helped move heavier items, and worked their tales off non-stop. They worked straight through from 9:00 until they finished around 5:00. They were neat, professional, answered all of my questions, paid a lot of attention to detail, and cleaned up everything nicely afterwards. The new floors look great and Id recommend them after the job they did.
