This location is awesome, first Firestone was no help, Erik here is so helpful. He looked up my tire, made valuable recommendations and is workingon replacing my tires now. Thank you Erik!! You made the difference!
Staff appears to be a little friend when you first enter but they will turn quickly on you.. Run if you have an alternative choice or they will take you for your hard earned money. Your vehicle will be happier if you pass Firestone up. Piece of mind is priceless as this is not the Firestone from the past but the new which isnt worth the trouble. Worthless 5 year warranty is not honored but will get you a one time replacement on a battery. Go to one if the auto store of your choosing you will be happier.
This Mavis was helpful when my son got a flat highly would recommend the service and the customer care was excellent.
NOT OPEN ON SUNDAYS ANYMORE! Had to call a tow truck for my car and told them to take my car to Firestone, only to get there and find it closed—they haven’t updated their hours online, of course… This is so, SO irresponsible of them and I’m incredibly disappointed.
Experienced mechanics and very professional and pleasant.
Great fast service. Excellent COVID 19 protocol
They have no clue as to the definition of customer service - 30 to 45 minute wait for a tire check plus you have to give them all your info. Get real!!!! Go elsewhere like Discount Tires, Always a five-star experience
Great customer service. Great problem solving
Id give 0 stars if I could. The mechanic we spoke to was condescending (tried to explain how coolant worked to me for 3 minutes), flippant, and made vaguely threatening statements about what would happen to my wifes car if we were to take it elsewhere for service. They charged for multiple things we didnt truly need, and tried to lie to my wife about how necessary they were. Said they wouldnt do one service without the other. And that a coolant fill up would cost $150. We ended up out $900 for a coolant reservoir when the cost shouldve been $500 or less. Tried to say the part was $150 (not even with labor!) when a coolant reservoir is literally $30 at most.So we were overcharged and talked down to. Great way to spend a weekend. These guys fit every gross stereotype about skeevy mechanics.
They have great service. They are always honest with me and upfront with anything that I need.
Went there for an Uber inspection.. They failed me on my 2016 Ford Fusion with 50K miles. Said I needed new ball joints in which cost would be at least $500 dollars. Went to a different store and passed the same day. Trying to get money out of a $20 dollar inspection. Typical.
Consistent service, fair pricing imo.
Great and fast service . I had a flat tire and repaired it instead of trying to sell me tires..
We have been going to the Glen Ellyn il store for over 8 years. We have never had any bad service from them. The staff has always been very courteous to me and my wife. When ever I call in and say Clifford needs an oil change or other maintenance Erik and Rafeal know exactly who is calling. They have always been very accommodating when I need to get Clifford in. I appreciate the personal touch of them knowing who I am and that they know all are vechicles. Roland the Head mechanic is the only one who can work on my truck. He is a fantastic mechanic!!!!!
Rafe and the guys were great as usual. He got me an appointment, same day, got me in and out, very nice price. Always a great experience with these guys. Rafe is the best
Great service from staff during this difficult time
I always explain to the customer service rep what my vehicle needs. He listens and responds with additional questions and thoroughly explains all the options and costs before we agree to service. This location is always busy and I only had one negative service experience which was quickly resolved. 10 years and 6 vehicles later they have been great.
I am surprised to see all of these negative reviews but I think that is from the old management days. They have a new store manager named Ado and he is absolutely the best! I have sent multiple family and friends to him and everyone has been taken care of without any complaints! They do good work for outstanding prices. They also do a good job of explaining any work the car needs or work that they recommend. Also, if you have a big purchase, I totally recommend the Firestone credit card, helped out a ton! Go see Ado and if he isnt there ask for Charles! They have a great team and I highly recommend them to anyone! They even work on German cars!
I went in for a wiper issue, unfortunately the part had to be ordered and would take a few days to arrive. The guys at Glen Ellyn Firestone had an open line of communication with me the entire time! When I went to pick up my car, I noticed that my tire was flat, but they handled the situation quickly, no questions asked! Every single employee/manager I encountered there was extremely professional, courteous and accommodating! I highly recommend this Firestone location! Great Job Guys! A+
Called Firestone in Glen Ellyn in need of new tires for my crossover. Everyone I dealt with on the phone was courteous and helpful. When I went in to have the service done the staff in the store were also very kind and helpful. Overall, a great experience! Would definitely recommend this location.
I have a navigation honda pilot, I changed oil here and at night I notice theres no lights in my navigation dash since I visit this place. They charge me $30 +tax for conventional oil.
The service here is very good!!! What I liked the most is that my final bill was cheaper than my original quote. The turn around time for tires was impeccable!
I trust this team. They seem to care and are honest. Their service is great, fast, and reliable. I have been coming for years, and they also help with discounts and coupons. I trust they have my best interest in mind. And they are friendly. Thanks!
Had a puncture in one of my tires, and luckily was able to get off the expressway and make it over to Firestone. Although I had to wait for a while they took care of the tire as soon as they could and I was on my way. Not the way to start off a holiday weekend, but they were great!
After I dropped off the vehicle and asked the customer service rep to diagnose the check engine light, perform an oil change, and rotate the tires I received a voicemail from the store asking me what the make/model of my car was. Seriously, I had just dropped it off and left the keys with them and instead of looking out the window or even just listening to me the first time, they called to ask what vehicle I wanted service on after I left it with them! I came back the next morning to make sure they knew which vehicle it was (yes, its as ridiculous as it sounds) and after a search for my keys they acknowledged that I had indeed brought the vehicle that they had in their parking lot. Whew… mystery solved! This was all a minor annoyance, but it did leave me with the feeling that this place is very poorly run.Now on to the major issue. After receiving a call with an update on the reason for the check engine light they told me that the Mass Air Flow Sensor was bad and needed to be replaced. As a reasonably mechanical person (with access to google), I know that this is a $100 part and takes around 15 minutes to replace, but that they often just need to be cleaned with a special spray cleaner and the replacement is not always necessary. The rep on the phone quoted me over $400 for this job, which I took as a personal insult and borderline unethical / predatory.I told him not to do the job and that Id come and get the vehicle. When I picked up the vehicle, I told him how I felt about the price that he quoted me for the job and was left with the feeling that he really didnt care and that I could take it or leave it. Then he told me that he was charging me $100 for a diagnostic fee, which consists of the tech hooking up the computer to find the fault code. I told him that I didnt think it was right to charge me $100 for a 5 minute job to hook up the computer, and again he was indifferent. At this point I had lost all confidence in the locations ability to perform honest service, and so I directly asked the customer service rep if they had actually diagnosed the mass air flow sensor as requiring replacement or if they just assumed it was bad after they found the fault code. He confirmed that they had actually diagnosed it and were not just going to replace the part without first confirming that the part was bad. I then reconfirmed by asking the direct questions did you clean the sensor as part of the diagnosis process? He confirmed that yes the technician had cleaned the sensor and that after cleaning the sensor the fault code persisted. I paid for my oil change and the $100 diagnostic fee and left.At home, I removed the sensor, cleaned it properly and reinstalled the sensor (took me about 15 minutes in all). This fixed the problem! The check engine light went out, and after hooking up my computer I saw that all fault codes were gone. This sequence of events leaves me to believe that one of the two following statements must be true.1. The technician did not actually diagnose the senor nor did he clean it, and then LIED to the customer service rep.2. The customer service rep LIED to me about the actual diagnosis and cleaning of the sensor.Edit: For the past year I’ve been taking my vehicles to AAA in Wheaton (west on Roosevelt) and have gotten honest and well priced service every time so far.
Dropped in to get a battery replaced. Took about a half hour. Waiting room was clean. Service was professional. Work was done properly. Got to see a very difficult customer come in while I was waiting. I was impressed with how the Firestone manager, Rob I think, handled the situation. The customer came in frustrated, but the manager was so patient. Customer left feeling a whole lot better.
I have no complaints about this store. I go here every year at least twice a year for winter tire swaps. Prices are super reasonable and theres no drama when it comes to wheel/tire maintenance.
Wow.. this place will rip you off!! Went there and got a quote for two codes for my emissions test. 1 hr to diagnose it then the quote $1500.Went to another garage, they replaced a sensor and 1 part .. cost me around $300.Unbelievable!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!
Good place to get your car fixed
***Fast and great service.***
Good management fast service descent prices
Friendly helpful lets you know the price of the repair before its done. Will always answer your question in a polite manner. Will try to get repair done in a timely manner.
Miguel was amazing helping us put new tires on an older model Firebird. A bit of a rare size, he ordered them in, mounted them, and checked the cars alignment... Speedy (same day) and professional. Even did a full safety check as the car had sat undriven for a long while.
Fast and great service.
They gave me a different price on phone, and at the time of service wanted to charge me $20 more. once i confronted, they gave me the right price, bad customer service. I still feel i have been overcharged $45+tax should be $48.50 but was charged $52.47. The receipt doesnt show breakdown of cost.
These guys deserve more respect than theyve been given. Service to my vehicle was fast, affordable, and thorough. Thank you!!
Went in for an oil change and diagnostics and they told me it would be done in a few hours and they would give me a call. Didn’t call me and kept it overnight. I had to be the one to call the next morning to see what was going on.
Im not impressed with this place. We keep bringing our car here but after they wanted to charge $60 to change a bulb I have been skeptical. A quick lube place nearby charges $15...
I was quoted a price for 2 tires. I sent my wife in to get the tires. She added insurance and windshield wipers. The bill ended up being $100 more then originally quoted. I am going over the bill and of course they make it as confusing as possible throwing in hidden fees and promotions to make you not feel as bad for charging you even more fees. Stick by your quote or lose my buisness. Dont attempt to trick women. Hopefully this review will serve as a warning. I would not use this place again. Not impressed.
I just spent an hour at this location as they fumbled and failed to install WIPER BLADES. Wiper blades, people. They sent me to AutoZone after wasting my hour of time. They are not educated at all in their craft. Spend your money elsewhere.
Popped a tire sidewall. Had warranty from Firestone, showed up at 6 was out by 7. No appointment just a call a few minutes prior. They also had a bunch of cars in the shop. Awesome service!
I have been bringing my SUV here for years. The last time I was in my husband arrived as they were putting the largest of the 2 skid plates back on. As he was watching them he noticed that they were using zip ties to secure my huge skid plate. They mechanic noticed my husband watching him and had the manager bring him back. They explained that they had broken 2 of the bolts getting it off. Out of 10 bolts, I apparently came in with 6 and left with 4 and zipties. Bolts break I get that. Im angry that they had been breaking them off slowly for years and because it wasnt a up charge, they never told me. Im curious if next time they would have broken all the bolts and used nothing but zipties to secure my skid plates.
It was my first visit and I like it. I hope it will be like that next time
Came for an oil change and was helped by Rob. Not only was it a better price than Im used to, but they also helped me out with a tire leak for free. Some of the best customer service Ive had was at this location!
Done with this place! Ive been using this Firestone location for over 15 years and I now no longer feel comfortable taking my cars there. Ive had minor issues before but the two we just had this past week are the last straw. We dropped of our 2014 Subaru Crosstrek to have the oil changed about a week ago. About 40 minutes later I get a call saying the car is almost ready and do I want the cabin air filter changed for $50 something dollars. Knowing the filter is a $20 item and it takes literally 10 minutes to change it without any tools required I said skip it.When we go back to pickup the car my wife goes inside while I am parked outside next to the Subaru. The Firestone guy tells her the total is other a $100 dollars. When she questioned why the oil change was over $100, he said it was for the air filter. She said, we didnt want the air filter, my husband said to skip it. Here then tells her, OK well take it off.So meanwhile Im outside next to the Subaru and nobody came out to remove the new filter that they supposedly changed. I thought that was odd. Did they just not charge us for it?When we got home, I pulled out the filter and sure enough it was the old filter full of dust, leaves etc..So had my wife not questioned the amount they would have charged us for a filter they didnt replace. That made me angry. But wait, theres more! After about 4 or 5 days, I notice the ground under where the Subaru is parked has a bunch of 2-3 oil drips. So this afternoon we took the car back to Firestone and told them about the oil drips. The guy says, give me about 20-25 minutes to get it in and looked at. I said sure call my cell when its done. We leave and come back about 35 minutes later after not receiving a call and were told they just got it on the rack and were still looking at it.Another 10 minutes goes by and we find out the drain plug needs to be replaced. They then spend the next 15 minutes trying to locate a drain plug because they dont have one. Finally he said they found the drain plug seal ring in Glendale Heights and had to send someone to get it. So again I say call me then its ready and we walk down the street to kill some time because we are trapped here with one car.40 minutes later we come back, again no call, and find the car is still up on the rack.So then finally 15 minutes later, the guy says Youre all set on the Subaru and just hands me the keys when I go up to the desk. No Sorry about that! or Sorry we wasted 2 hours of your Sunday correcting our screwup from a week ago!I now understand what happened. They did my oil change and didnt change a $2 part to ensure there would be no leaks because they didnt have the part. So instead of a week ago telling me hey we need to get a seal ring (why an oil change place doesnt already have a ready supplyon hand is another red flag) they decide to instead just use the old seal ring and hope for the best.Thats sloppy, not professional and as I said earlier, the last straw!Larry- Glen Ellyn
Kinda slow took over 1 hour for an oil change when they said 45 minutes due to the car already in the shop. Not horrible delay but its there.
Great friendly and helpful workers, never tried to sell me something I did not need
Great team Rob.Jim.John.rafa.Lee. Well all the employee are nice and all ways there to help customers
This store gave me the best quote in town, and finished my work on time even though every bay was full.
My son and I took his car to Firestone after being recommended to them by AutoZone. When we arrived I specifically said, we are here because the guys at AutoZone said you can help us figure out what is wrong with the car for $20. Miguel took all my info, said they would take a look and call me. I received the diagnosis and chose not to have the repair done at that time. When my sons father went to pick up the car, he was charged $106 for the diagnosis work. When the clerk was questioned about the fee, he called Miguel who was not in the shop at the time. Miguel told the clerk that I was well aware of the charge - which is completely untrue and counters what I specifically said when I dropped off the car.I wouldnt have left the car if I knew it cost $106 just to try to figure out what was wrong. I have since come to find out that Firestone is a national client of AutoZone and AutoZone employees highly recommend people go to Firestone when AutoZone cannot help them. The entire experience was disappointing and I will go back to GearHeads in the future, which is where I should have gone to start with, but had a full book of appointments on this particular day.
They were able to change a bad valve stem same day before the snow storm.
Terrible service waiting almost a hour to get my car pulled back for a oil change with a appointment. Never again will I come here over price and too slow.
Not sure my review to Firestone went public on their site, which was my main purpose of writing it so here it is:I recently went into Firestone with powersteering issues and did a 10 dollar checkup. A 10 dollar checkup that took over 3 hours to perform. When i finally got the call, i went back in and they told me i had two broken hoses that would cost around $300 to fix. I decided to take my car to an actual mechanic where he told me the hoses werent even the issue, it was much worse. I had completely rusted struts and a broken rack and pinion, costing over $2000 to repair(lord knows what FireStone would have charged).Heres the issue. Not only did Firestone give me the wrong information, but i would have gone in there, paid 300 dollars for a repair, just to have them tell me after the fact that the hoses werent the main issue. As a college kid with no money, im not exactly sure how i would have reacted to that. To top it off, my mechanic said Firestone never put back a clamp on one of the hoses when they were performing the checkup.Long story short, i NEVER write reviews, i NEVER have issues with service, but Firestone is absolute trash. Just because my service cost $10 bucks, doesnt mean you can half-a$$ the job and look amateur while doing it. Telling me wrong information, not putting back parts like clamps on a hose, what a joke.I reallllllly hope somebody sees this review and it discourages them from ever using this place. I know ill never be using FireStone again.
I get great service there. And at a far price.
They were going to charge close to $4000; I decided the old care was no longer worth it, but then they wanted to charge me a $10 inspection fee, which was Never mentioned up front. They, of course, backed off because of that. My family use to go to this Firestone all the time and even referred them to friends. No more.
Well .....I walked in then I was told to take a seat and someone would be with me. 30 minutes later.....nothing, no one asked me what I need or what brought me in today. I just sat there waiting to be helped. I got looks and they just looked away. Maybe Im intimidating or something but....... This was the worst experience in my life with dealing with a car care shop.
I took some old tires here to be recycled. They were very friendly.
Great, friendly and honest service
After check up, gave wrong information, was able to fix it by my own after little research.
Nobody is perfect... but Firestone will do what they can to take care of your needs!
They do a good job, but are expensive.
Careful when you patronize this place, shady stuff goes on here.
Migal is a honest and great guy thanks
Fast easy tire install.
They do good oil change
Very nice and polite people.
I visited this place for repair of my car.
Rafael and Eric do a great job
Would not go here. Bad service.
Excellent and timely service, as usual.
Always very attentive!
Very expensive. Try suburban tire
You fix 1 thing and invariably something else goes wrong
Horrible building always running hours late, went to get a flat tire fixed and waited 2 hours before they touched my car . Why would they set appointments and never stick with it ??
Can align my offroad 38 tires.
Always a good experience here
Good, quick service.
Great shop
Great service
We were passing through Glen Ellyn when the maintenance light came on and we passed the Firestone for an oil change. They did a good job until they let us know of other problems that the vehicle had bad.
