One of my favorite coffee places in glendale. The coffee is pretty good and I enjoy how there are unique flavors and combinations that you can get. My personal favorite is the coffee with a hint of chocolate. Very tasty and not overwhelming. Have had other flavors before, and they all check out. Staff is very friendly and place is definitely a vibe. If you like coffee, you definitely need to try Philz once.
From a black coffee drinker, this cup was perfectly roasted. And I always go for iced coffee no matter what. I feel like I can taste the coffee better when its not hot. Anyways, I recommended this shop for any coffee lovers who really drink and enjoy the taste of the actual coffee rather than putting sugar or milk or all the unnecessary and unhealthy stuff to make your cup taste like the way you want.
When in Glendale- go to Philz! We usually end up in the area when we want good Persian food. It just so happens that Raffi’s is right down the road, so I always take this opportunity to grab Philz after we eat.The atmosphere and the staff are beyond inviting . As for the drinks, I like to describe this place as “coffee with a twist”. Some of the combinations might cause you to raise an eye brow, but it never disappoints. My favorite drink is the silken splendor is one of my favorites, with the philharmonic being a close second. ☕️Fun fact: the founder is Palestinian. 🇵🇸
I had blood work this morning and hadnt had anything to eat. I went to eggslut to buy me a burger and went over to Philz while I waited for my burger. I had bought the Soul coffee and it tasted absolutely amazing! Granted the line was kinda long but overall the place is friendly and I really enjoyed the coffee that was made for me! Would recommend 100%!
The absolute best customer service out of any place I’ve ever been ever! The positive attitude of the staff and overall vibe in there is amazing! There was a huge line today and they worked and busted through it like nothing, all while keeping their composure and genuine care for each customer. So far I’ve tried the Mocha Tesora (my go to) the gingersnap (phenomenal) and I just tried the Mint Mojito and man am I in heaven! Such unique blends and loads of options! An absolute must try if you haven’t already!!!
When I lived in the bay area I was sad to leave Philz, but was pleasantly surprised to find many shops in LA. The workers here are friendly and make sure you like what you ordered. I still love their Philtered Soul sweet and creamy. I also look forward to their tip jar questions. It made me glad they were collecting food for the LA food bank.
A coffee shop that makes horrible coffee (instant coffee is probably better than them) Pastry was hard as a rock. However the server was very friendly! If you like watered down coffee then I will highly recommend it!!!
Things have definitely changed around the world, especially how we get things like coffee and a bite to eat. Philz is still going strong and I couldnt be anymore thankful that they are still in operation. Ordering through the App is so easy. The crowd is always big around the entrance but the employees are always so nice and making sure to keep their guests are updated on their order. Fingers crossed that the Jamaican Blue Mountain comes back! 🤞
Wish outdoor sitting was more of a thing for them. Coffee is fantastic and service is above expectations :)
Mocha Tesora hot is not hot it was giving to me lukewarm, Do I need to say extra hott because the coffee today was just like room temperature was so disappointed.
GREAT COFFEE BUT SUCH A HUSTLE !!!Don’t think you will be able to get your coffee quickly, you’ll need to spend at least half an hour in a wait line! The problem is not the staff, it’s the location by Americana and all the hipsters and teenagers who come here with freaking groups!!!! The shop is not super accommodating and it gets loud and noisy, but the outdoor section makes up for it. Staff are nice and welcoming. I really like their coffee but I avoid it wholeheartedly cause of the hustle for a freaking coffee in a first world country.
Its Philz ... they have good coffee, whats more to say? I really like their light roasts, especially their Dancing Water. Its naturally sweet and just a bit like citrus. The only complaint I have is the process of ordering and waiting for coffee. After you order you step back from the counter and wait, the bench fits maybe 4 people and the rest of the waiting area is crowded if more than 6 people are there. Just a tip, you can pay while waiting.
Ive had coffee in, at and from all over the world. The Iced Coffee Rose is by far one of the best Ive ever had.Even their regular coffee us very smooth and creamy.
Everyone that works here is very courteous and friendly, and the app is great as well as pickup times usually right on. Great coffee too.
Visited here for breakfast and it was DELICIOUS. The waffle was so fresh and fluffy and the strawberries and bananas on top was too! The eggs and toast were good as well! The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was great! Will be back again when in Glendale! High recommend! :)
Visit this local coffee shop for the 1st time. The ice mint mojitos was strong and good. There were 4 baristas working. But the line and the wait was long. There is a nice seating area inside and outside. If you want to try something different beside Starbucks or coffee beans, this is your place. The internet is available
Good coffee with friendly and fast service.
I come here so often to study for my CPA exam (I recognize faces now) ahaha. I get the Iced So Good because it’s like a mint mojito without the extra dollar charge 😂👍 Their avocado toast is also amazing! I just don’t really like the smell I get when I stay there too long (I can’t describe it but it doesn’t smell good ):) but other than that I love this spot! outlets, seating, vibes, etc :)
Not a fan of super sweet coffees hot or cold. I like my coffee simple, black or with just a bit of milk, some to no sugar. But man do I love Philz Ice mojito coffee. They got it right, sweetness is perfect.
Despite being in the middle of tourist hell, as its just by Glendale, CA youd think it wouldnt be great, but its not that bad.Wraps, salads, coffees, juices etc all perfectly reasonable in price, and fairly tasty too for a cafe. The portion sizes were good.Staff were nice, but didnt really seem too engaged.
The slowest Philz Ive ever been to. We had to leave because everyone working there was puttering around and ignoring the very short line.
Friendly staff. Came in and asked for a recommendation and a young female helped me choose a breakfast
Philz is my favorite coffee place. It is hip and has a great vibe and the coffee is like crack! gets you going!
Best coffee I ever tried
This place is pretty cool. They have different coffees that you can try, and they make it pretty simple when ordering through the app, which is the only way you can order at this time. My husband and I tried the Turkish Coffee which we LOVED!! Its cool, but very little human interaction.
Some of the best coffee in the city.
Disappointing. Not horrible, but not great either. I drank half, dumped it out. Ended up at Nordys Cafe, much better!
They certainly have a lot of flavor options! And they brew everything fresh on the spot, which is a delight to see.And their descriptions are quite wonderfully flavorful.Their only issue, at least the first time I went, was the length of the line. Its popular, but popularity can have its problems.
If you drink coffee without milk, thats the place to go. They have about 10 types of coffee here. It might be a bit weird when getting coffee here for the first time. But its really worth it. Not much pastries here. Great for me. Not sure about any other parking except the one in the street.
Although they don’t get Mint Mojito taste consistently right, but their service is unbeatable. Hands down, Philz is the best in Glendale.
Very friendly and pretty 😍 but the barista here (at least today, on this morning) is garbage! I asked for a medium sweet mocha latte, what I got back was a cup full of milk and chocolate, hardly any coffee in my cup and it was insanely sweet. I love Philz, but I think Ill stick to the DTLA location 💯 this one is not it chief.
Didn’t know that they opened up at Philz in Glendale. I have always been a big fan, and seeing the new locations, I’m really excited that they are expanding. I went to this location at 6:30 in the morning, and it was already frequenting customers. It has the same quality of service as the other bills coffee, just as fast, convenient, and affordable. AndI ordered an iced mocha Tesora 4.60. Wild it would be expensive – just a little under $10 – to get both a coffee and a pastry, the patient is mighty delicious. You can customize the sweetness level, and my light mocha Was perfect. The creaminess definitely offsets the lack of sugar in the drinks. If you were looking for a mocha without the feeling bad after, this is the drink for you.It has several seating areas, and there are many outlets at the tables, or outside patios. While it is right next to a coffee tea been and a Starbucks, I definitely would recommend the Philz coffee over the other two.
Fantastic tea, but service was slow. They lost my order on a slight name discrepancy in my mobile pickup order. Had to wait over 20 minutes at the storefront while they figured it out meanwhile I watched a bunch of people come and go with their orders.
My wife and I been more than a year buying coffee Frome there, we love Philz coffee but the reason of my comment is, there is one small Angel with ocean ❤️ heart shes called,,, helisa,,, hard working and fast, always trying to help everyone in store or out, she has a big smile on her face .thank you Philz to select best of people and quality,,,
Im not a huge coffee drinking so take my review with a grain of salt.Despite the hype, I dont find the coffee being that great. Theres always a huge debate over whether Philz coffee is better than Starbucks but as I understand it, neither use coffee beans of high quality. Philz quality might be marginally better than Starbucks but I havent really tasted the difference.I suspect the perceived quality increase is because Philz does have a more interesting menu. They make off beat drinks like a mojito coffee that a more traditional coffee place like Starbucks cant because they are so much bigger and have to stay relatively neutral.I would say to definitely try it at least before making up your mind.In terms of this location the staff is always friendly which is good and there is cheap paid parking in the back.
I come here especially for the great coffee selection. One has to come here for more than 10 times to have tried all they offer. Such a great adventure.
Wow what a great cup of coffee! Great coffee shop location and good service. I like their coffee bean extract here it was so good and enjoy every cup.
Everything was good
RSVP SOFT OPENING. I was waiting in line and Along Came a Barista and she was explaining to us all the different kinds of coffees and letting us know if were not happy they can get a new cup of coffee for us. The Barista came by she was talking to PEOPLE in line and she was wearing a wonderful PHILZ logo on her sweatshirt .I received a very very good cup of coffee and The Barista asked me if it was good . I let her know it was perfect. Yes, I like filtered coffee from Philz.
One of the best coffee shops we have in the Glendale area. I always wondered what the hype was about this place and once trying their mojito coffee I understand why! Delicious complex flavors and the staff is focused on giving you a quality beverage and great service with every visit. This place is always packed so order ahead with their app and enjoy your beverage!
Really amazing coffee. I was at another Philz in downtown Los Angeles a few years ago and they had coffee blended with flavors, this one largely did not, they had a lot of coffee (with their flavor profiles written out) which is great and educational. Broken down on 3 section Bold, Medium and Light. I choose 2 amazing coffee black with no sugar nor cream and we loved it. Their breakfast sandwich was also really tasty.
Knowledgeable staff willing to take the time to explain options and characteristics of each drink, interesting pour over process, brewed coffee delivered as promised. Will have to come back to try more; would consider purchasing beans next time. Wish they had more chairs so that one can sit to enjoy; the place was packed on a weekday mid afternoon, so had to take my coffee to go.
I seriously love this place! Every time I leave I always feel loved and taken care of. It’s a coffee place like no other. Everything is so personalized and you can customize things. Don’t ever stop doing what you’re doing - Making people feel like they matter :).
Some of the best coffee I’ve ever had and similar price to a fancy drink at Starbucks. The seasonal Rose is SO good and not overly sweet. You can also order on the app ahead of time and they’ve never been late on my order that way. Super cute spot too- looks like a great spot to get some work or studying done.
This is my new favorite coffee shop. I LOVE the Jacobs Wonderbar! Its a dark roast, totally rich and yummy. I think its named after the founders son but dont hold me to that. This place is worth your time. Plus everyone behind the counter is super, super nice. You wont be sorry that you went!
This is an awesome coffee shop in the area. I love the taste of coffee bean. It was so good. Love the pancake as well. It was all god. Clean and well organized shop with nice staff.
I love Philz so much! My go-to drinks are the Iced Tesora or Jacobs Wonderbar. The only issue I have with this location during the COVID-19 pandemic is that the line is a literal mess. Its across from the Americana, so its already busy as it is, but their check-in line and waiting line are just too confusing. Its hard to socially distance when people are confused about the lines and decide to clutter the area. I ordered through the mobile app, but I had to wait an extra 10-15 minutes after my estimated time, which was also pretty frustrating. Ive been to Philz at Costa Mesa and La Jolla and both locations there were fast and efficient with no confusing lines. Philz at Glendale really need to restructure their lines, or make clearer signs for customers because some people didnt even know they had to order through the app.
California only coffee shop. Originally began in San Francisco. Everyone loved the mint mojito but I love the mocha tesora. The combinations of sweet and dark flavors are really interesting that no one else is doing. The art changes and it’s an open concept so it feels very spacious inside.
Literally one of the best coffees you will ever have. Fresh and amazingly delicious! Mint mojito iced is legendary! I think thats what its called.. 🤔
Definitely recommended to take a visit. If your dont drink coffee they have plenty of other drinks available, a good amount of food options. Service is amazing, the atmosphere there is very relaxing, you are also right by the Americana and Glendale Galleria. Overall great place to add your list of places to visit.
I have no gripes with the vibe or coffee itself just the crazy wait times. There is not a single time Ive been able to get my coffee and go in less than 20 minutes no matter what time of day. I get that individual pour over brews are their thing but given the volume this place does I would imagine they have the budget to add more staff. If youre in a rush I highly recommend using the mobile app to order beforehand.
This is one of our go to spots for coffee. Most coffee places will grumble if your coffee wasnt made right or if it wasnt as good as you expected and they find out from you. Philz Coffee insists that they make your coffee to taste until its just right. Need more cream? No problem. Like it sweeter? Sure thing. Didnt like the flavor? Theyll make you a new cup! The first time I went I didnt believe it, but they are set on making sure your experience is top notch. I really feel welcome and even pampered when I go there. We also bought a bag of coffee to take home with us. They come as whole beans and offer to grind them in store after you purchase, if youd like.Theres a bit of parking in the front and more in the back. And there are a few gluten free options available.Once you order your coffee, pay at the register and wait on the bench for your coffee. Be sure to remember what you ordered! They do it by order and not name.
So great place and awesome customer service. Coffee was really good and tasty. Burgers and pancakes was so good as well. This place was great and worth to be back again.
Who would have thought that a mint mojito latte could be so delicious?? I CANT STOP CRAVING IT. Seriously next level. Its fresh, creamy, and outstanding.
Really strong coffee flavor, i love their vanilla latte. Its amazing.
When I want up I go to Philz. When I want down I go to bed.
At the Americana with a few out of town guest, having a real nice Italian lunch. I decided I wanted to have a cup of coffee at our local Philz so I decided to pass on the after meal coffee at the restaurant. walked across the street, the line was to the door and one barista making drinks. Needless to say, after boasting about Philz, this was a “buzz kill”. There seem to be no urgency on the employee’s behind the counter. The cost of the coffee was expected, but a 40 minute wait!!!?? And after all that time there was no where to sit to enjoy the company over a cup of Philz. Being kind with the 2 stars.
This is hands down the best cup of coffee Ive ever had. Ever. Out of the 5 blends Ive tried, some of which cold and some of which hot, all of them were rich in flavour and delicious in their own way. Philz as a chain is constant too. Having been to 4 different spot throughout the LA area, I can say theyre all on or very near the same level of quality. On top of the great coffee, the employee are very knowledgeable about their craft and were always willing to explain the tastes of the various blends and help you pick the coffee thats right for you... All with a huge smile.Do yourself a huge favour and try an iced tesora or silken splendor tomorrow morning. You wont be disappointed 👍🏼☕
Jacobs Wonderbar was very good.
Great tasting coffee
This is a nice coffee shop. All pour over coffee, which in my opinion is the best method. I love the variety of coffee they have. Its a little too hipster, but hey, its good coffee. Service is good.
We tried the mint mojito coffee and it was very good! Interesting flavor!
I really like their ice mint mojitos. Baristas were very friendly and did provided the best customer service. Clean facility too.
The coffee here is top notch, no reason for me to talk about that. The wait times can sometimes be long but a quality brew takes some time, so its to be expected. And thank you Philz for putting baby changing tables in the restrooms. That is very much appreciated!
Customer service (Samantha & the one who took our order) was very friendly & helpful, coffee was delicious!
Hands down my favorite coffee right now, the staff is always great as well.
This place is so simplistic and aesthetically pleasing, I love it. The coffee is also divine! I had the vanilla latte and tried the peppermint one as well. I prefer the vanilla but the peppermint was really good too!
Great pour over coffee made to order with 3 custom levels of sweetness and cream. I find that Philz way (+2 sweet, +2 cream) is a nice balance, even though i tend to veer away from sweet drinks. Service is on point and they will gladly adjust your beverage for you.
Philz occupies that nice sweet spot between the big corporate coffee chains and the artisan coffee spots. They have fantastic pour over coffee, lots of blends to choose from, and excellent service. Love how the baristas take the time to make your cup exactly the way you want it. Only downside is the pastries, which were a bit of a disappointment.
Lovely little hole in the wall coffee shop. Tried one of the darker roasts with cream and a tiny bit of sugar at the barista’s suggestion. The coffee tasted like a hot bit of cloud from heaven. I only wish I lived closer.
Good specialty coffee. Its hard for me to do every day but it is good once in a while.
Great service. Amazing coffee. Lines are a bit confusing and store is small. But great place overall
Had the best hot chocolate
Philz is a trendy spot to get your caffeine fix. Their blended coffees are delicious if you’re willing to spend the time in line and fork over $3.50 to $4.50 for a very well done cup of joe. They have tables in front to sip your beverage and people watch. Good spot to go on the weekends when you have some extra time.
