If you’re looking for anything rc related this should be your go to. Randy is very knowledgeable and friendly. I feel like I absolutely got the best bang for my buck catered to my skill level. Had to take my RC into bell and 43rd ave had no clue what was going on with it bought new parts and could not get it to run. Matt here was so helpful he diagnosed the issue which was a simple wiring problem and I was off and cruising again. They are super friendly here and very helpful. I wont take our stuff anywhere else. Highly recommend this spot...

A+++++. Can you find these items slightly cheaper online? Yes. Will you get the warm welcome from the informed, helpful, pleasant, and courteous staff? No. Have been going here since I moved to the area in 2005. Always have a wonderful visit. End up buying more than I came in for and always end up in a conversation with an employee. They know their stuff. But, more importantly, they LISTEN to you so they can help guide you on your project. Pics are just a few of the kits I was looking at. They have a wide selection of model railroad, RC, static model, die cast, doll houses, telescopes and a whole nuther side of the store for more traditional arts ans crafts that I dont know much about so wont comment.

They have an excellent stock of Woodland Scenics landscaping materials that I use for my model railroad. The staff that I have interacted with is very friendly. I only gave four stars because they really have no selection of building kits for N scale.

If I could give this one Negative -5 stars I would. Been there twice this month first time I brushed it off as just one of those days. Today 2 weeks later same thing. The people at the counter come across as they dont know anything or that they just dont care and are there because its a job. You call ask for stuff they say yes show up and no we are out. We are talking like within 30 minutes. When we first went there to buy rc stuff they didnt seam like they had a clue and where only pushing the high price stuff like they are paid commissions. So we went to 19th and northern very friendly staff and very helpful go there and save yourself the hassle. I will not go back to the 43rd and bell store. Ill buy offline before I go there.

Went into Hobby Bench and was greeted by a very kind lady and we walked to the RC Department and was greeted by Matt who was so helpful to my son and I! He helped fixed the several issues and was very explanatory and patient with us! We just started out with this hobby and he didn’t make fun of us and wasnt rude and didn’t try and sell anything! He was never pushy! He didn’t have to fix the whole thing and hook up the connections for us and take apart the car! I will definitely be coming back here for help and parts for our RC car! I love going here! It is not a big box chain hobby shop and it shows. Never experienced better service and more friendly people. Took my boys in for simple R/C issue and Mat spent time teaching the boys about their cars as he diagnosed the issue. Thanks for everything and we are customers for life.

We encountered two small problems that required warranty replacement, Hobby Bench was quick to provide and install the replacement parts. I tend to stop in here every few weeks just to look around and see if there is something i cant live without. The guys at the RC counter are always super nice to me when i come in. Today i bought a few things and they were nice enough to let me sneak behind the counter to let me look at some parts hanging on the wall up close. Bought a couple scale accessories for my Traxxas Bronco, super happy with what i bought. Yes, i could have saved a few dollars buying from an online retailer, but i wouldnt have had them to work on my project today. Thanks for being open and always letting me walk around the store and look around.

Super cool guys in the RC department. They’re polite and knowledgeable and they don’t try to up-sell you and they don’t make fun of you if you’re a kook or are new to the hobby (like most shops).Most prices beat eBay and amazon too and they’re never out of anything.Nothing but positive things about this place and the people who work there.

Im new to the rc remote toys & bought a car online .recieved. so I wanted an extra battery for this remote control car.so I went to hobby bench to see if they had a battery that wood fit my car.So I talked to a person behind the counter and was very rude ignored me like if I was stupid.over all had an awful experiance.They just lost a customer.on the other hand i went to Duncan rc store.much better experiance.Duncan rc won me as a customer.Dont go to hobby bench .

I just finished building a Dancing Wings S-25 Extra330 and needed a motor, prop, radio, receiver, batteries, charger etc...as well as some final construction tips. We all hate when a store employs someone with little or no experience so Im grateful to Hobby Bench & Matt.

This store is great!! Although, I think I VT could easily spend 4-500 every single time I go in.... This particular location has much friendlier staff than 19th and Northern location and the amount of R/C stuff is out of hand really!! They could use a better selection of drones though, kind of weak in that department.

Didnt have replacement parts for my X-Maxxs bumper, tires or body.

This place is great for every kind of hobby. From R/C cars, planes, boats and rockets to arts and crafts. And trains! They have parts and an extensive knowledge on just about everything. Their selection of plastic model kits is extensive. The staff are super friendly and always willing to help with your selection and advise. Definitely my favorite hobby shop!

Manager for RC section is not helpful at all, If you try asking if they have certain items in stock, he immediately shuts you down and tells you they dont have anything. The kid who worked with him was much more friendlier and helpful. Worst hobby shop by far.

I wouldnt have even given 1 star for this store except it wouldnt let me give a review otherwise. My son bought a $60 model from this store and started to take the pieces apart to put together and it is such a horrible product it was breaking. He right away called and asked about returning it and they said bring it in and we will see what happened. So long story short, he got there and they refused to give him his money back and said he could still put it together. On all kinds of levels this is the worst customer service. Stand behind your products in the store and dont rip people off like this. My family or friends that I know will not give you the business ever again. I do not recommend this store to anyone.

Went in to pickup an RC car. The staff was very friendly and spent a good amount of time educating me on the differences between the different models. I will definitely be back.

I tend to not understand why the shelves are still empty when people are supposed to be staying home.However, my husband was quick to remind that everything comes from China, period.

Nice lady up front. No help in the r/c car section. Came in for battery adapter and gear. Very quick to say they dont have anything when they dont even understand what your asking for. Busy talking. Poor customer service in back. I looked through the reviews and the r/c section gets a lot of poor reviews on customer service. Maybe a change? Anyway you possibly lost a $400 sale on a new truck. Online is cheaper and offer vet discount. No discount here. Good for small stuff needed right away.

It has most things I need but sometimes I make trips and get most of the items and have to go elsewhere to get the rest. I think they need a better inventory system so that both stores can talk to each other.

Perfect place for any beginners who intend on entering the model kit world. They have cars, trains, planes, boats, & more. Their supplies are reasonably priced and we stocked.While their selection of Gundam models is low, this is to be expected due to the niche nature of its fan base. Regardless, it’s very nice of them to include the Gunpla for said market.They also host contests for anyone who is more creative and likes to customize their model kits. Be sure to ask for any information, as the staff are well informed and very friendly.

Both locations are great, With their incredible customer service, but this store stood out above and beyond, I purchased a Losi RC and My wife a special gift at this location, I asked if He had any packaging paper left over so I could wrap it as a gift and He said hang on I may have something back there and He ended up One upping Me, He took my wifes gift (telescope) and pro wrapped it in birthday paper wrap, Talk about customer service! We live out in Tempe so it’s totally worth the drive, they have a large selection of items too!

Friendly folks greeted me on my way in and I was able to find what I was looking for, not mu h more to ask except maybe a broader selection.Specifically, Im just getting back into Gundam kits and was told they carried them.They do indeed and they even carry some supplies. Its not a lot to choose from, but they at least carry stands and some of the higher grade kits.

Asked a simple question about upgrading a super cub engine and was talked down to immediately. Guy obviously knew everything unlike me (which he made pretty clear). Going to leave this review until I have a better customer experience there. Great inventory though so two stars at least.

This place is friendly. They are super helpful with your RC toys and know the parts you need to fix them. They are fair prices and usually have the parts.

I am so disappointed with my visit to Hobby Bench this morning. I was shopping for batteries for RC aircraft. The three members of staff working the counter were clueless. The young man helping me had no idea what the battery size, capacity or charging requirements were. He pointed out an incompatible charger for the lithium battery he was trying to sell me. This is so very dangerous as lithium batteries must be very carefully handled and watched after. When I called out his misinformed sales pitch I received an answer that it was another staff members mistake. I would strongly suggest shopping at Hobby Action or Duncans where there are more knowledgeable staff and better selection.In summation, the staff knows just enough to be dangerous nothing more!

This is a very neat place. I went by myself and there were alot of creative items for fun arts and crafts. The employees were so welcoming from the moment I walked into the store, and they were very approachable as I walked around looking for specific items!

It’s so refreshing in this day and age to have a local hobby store you can go to and pick out parts for your RC car, look at different model rockets with your kid, and admire the model RC planes. I’ve been going to this store since I was a kid and although it literally has not changed at all (I’m pretty sure they have the same register from 15 years ago lol) that just adds to the experience and nostalgia. I am into RC cars and always needing to replace broken parts or upgrade and they have s huge selection and usually stocked on all parts I need.

I was sorely disappointed with the Northern location that I figured I would give them one last chance but decided to go to this location instead even though much further away. I was surprised, they took the time and chatted it up. My brother ended up with another hobby truck, very knowledgeable and friendly staff here.
