Expensive, Very poor quality tailoring and service. I brought my dress in to get hemmed. $70 for a $40 dress. When I returned to try on the dress the hem was all over the place with the front to my mid calf (instead a half inch off the floor) and the back of the dress trailing behind me. The Spanish lady (who barely spoke English) originality didnt even pin the dress, but drew an out line with chalk on the dress, which I thought was strange. When I addressed the inaccuracy of the hem to the lady, she stated the material was hard to hem. The store expected me to pay full price for a dress that can not be repaired to my original requirements.Since the time was close to the time the store was closing, the lady physically pushed me and my husband out of the store and said come back tomorrow. The following day, the Man Steve demanded the money, called me a thief for wanting a discount of his mistake that can not be repaired. She kept my dress and didnt even offer fixing or paying for a new dress.Do not go to this place. The BBB has 3 citations out on this business do to this same issue. Consumer be ware
Excellent customer service, reasonable prices, and fantastic work!!! I took my brand new Free People dress in to change the fabric on the waistband for another fabric I bought since it wasnt the design I was looking for, and they did an EXCELLENT job!! Highly recommend!! Thank you so much!
I am surprised by the other reviews. I have been in here several times. The owner and her assistant have been very polite. Most of all, my clothes were tailored beautifully, AND the cost was far less than I would have previously thought. This way, I get to keep items that I love, and they fit better after the tailoring. Thank you, ladies.
Seriously do not understand these bad reviews. Bought some new slacks from express, took them in, they fixed them up to look amazing. It only took a week. Reasonable priced and everyone was so nice. Being a non-binary, masculine person, I’m always scared of mom and pop shops denying service to me because of my appearance. I felt welcome. Everything was fast, quick. I think people are confusing efficiency for rudeness. Would definitely take clothes there again.
Paid cash upfront for 5 shirts to be embroidered. Was quoted 7 days for service, called on the 7th day and they couldnt even locate my order. First off, the lady in the front was extremely rude and unprofessional. I would never think to speak to my clients the way she spoke to me and my wife. I didnt bother reading the reviews before I asked for service. They were the only ones open on Saturday, and trust me that should have been an indicator. Im not sure if they were just too busy and stressed to be nice, but Im never going there again for business. I was even going to start going through them for my whole company ($1,000) a quarter at minimum. Please, do not bother going here. Steve was decent enough, but the staff you hire to represent your company is a direct reflection of yourself. If I even get my shirts, Ill make sure to let you guys know how they turned out.
I should have read the reviews before taking my 4 garments to be altered. The service is awful, the quality is poor and they are very expensive. There are no prices listed anywhere and I feel like prices were just made up! I paid $24 for a belt loop to be fixed, 1 hem, a waste band and a seam on a pair of pants. Of my 4 garments I took in, 1 skirt was not even touched and my jean loop was sewn on crooked!! I should have checked the garments before leaving but they were just bundled up in a plastic bag and felt very clumsy! When I got home I was so upset!! If I did 50% of my job poorly (or not at all) I would be fired!!! I called to complain and the person I spoke with hardly understood me. Very frustrated!!! I would not recommend at all!!
Earlier today I took my host sister Camilla, who is from Norway and this is her very first and last prom, to pick up her dress from Altered States at Arrowhead Mall and one side of the dress ended up being 1 inch shorter then the rest of the dress and the owner said the dress was perfect and that it was her fault for not standing straight when we dropped off earlier this week which she wasnt standing as lop sided as the dress looked. We were then told by the owner that she was not perfect and that her body was uneven and her dress was terrible and we were given a 20$ discount but charged an extra 15$ for them trying to fix the dress which didnt workout and we didnt ask for the fix, we just wanted to leave before they made it worse. So for anyone with alterations to be done for prom dont go to Altered States Tailoring and Embroidery, they have 3 locations, Superstition Springs Mall, Arrowhead Mall and Paradise Valley Mall. I dont recommend their business and they shouldnt be trusted with cutting fabric, they were so rude to Camilla and myself.
They were extremely helpful and went out of the way for our family stocking additions.
Altered States produces poor quality work and they are overpriced. Their work was completed later than promised, the day before the wedding. The seamstress does not speak adequate English to communicate well with customers. The owners wife was rude and had to be forced to take responsibility. A VERY UPSETTING EXPERIENCE! Please go anywhere but Altered States.
Absolute worst customer service. Did my alterations didnt make adjustments needed. Charged me $95 for jackets adjustment. After they completely butchered it told me they could fix it but would be the most costly alteration... place is a joke. Better off finding a mens warehouse.
Crazy crowded some times, but good quality work.
The tailor there did a very generic measurement to hem my pants. I wasnt wearing the shoes I was going to wear with the pants and they didnt make any adjustments for that. I got the pants back and told them it was too long and they told me it would cost another 8-10 to fix. Pretty poor service and the craftsmanship was terrible.
I took two pairs of pants in to be hemmed. After wearing and drycleaning twice, both pairs had the hem come out. I have never had this issue at the drycleaners before, in tbe year I have been going there. These were the first pants I ever brought to Altered States to hem.
Surprised by the negative reviews. Im a very short woman so I need items tailored often. Never had a problem here.
Not impressed. The first time I picked up my dress I realized the hem on the side was awful, very poorly done. Their response to me was that they would fix it but I have to come back the next day. When I went back, it was done better but still not the greatest work and they didn’t offer a discount or even an apology for the inconvenience.
First of all they are not polite at all. No none seems to know how much altering an item will cost, prices are higher than average, and they have very little common sense. If you need something altered tell them EXACTLY what you need done, down to stupid levels of detail. Things you would think are common sense will not be to them. They also dont accept debit cards. Street hotdog vendors accept debit cards now yet a store in the mall cant, strange. There are lots of other tailors, Id recommend going elsewhere.
I walked in to have my measurements taken for a dress I was ordering. I was greeted by what do you need I then proceeded to tell them I need simple measurements taken. The lady at the table said it was $5 and cash only. I told her I had no cash and would have to go to an ATM and she said to hurry up. I called a friend who had measurements taken the day before and she told me they let her pay with a card. I was so mad at the poor service I left. The next day I called to ask them if I could come in and pay with a card and suddenly the price went up to get measurements... I refuse to go to this place now.
Always a Poor service, Rush you to take measurements, Messed up a new Jeans.Nothing is good about this place.
I’m very surprised about the negative reviews my fiancée and all my groomsmen were taken care of. Find it strange.
$20 dollars for two pant seams to be re-sown, seems a bit steep
Clothes were not done on time. I got a shoulder shrug as compensation.
In and out in 15 min, 15$ for fixing two pairs of pants yay.
This place is a joke, definitely not recommending it to anyone!!!!
