ARKO Foods is a Filipino supermarket with a hot food (point-point) buffet of top filipino dishes (adobo, sinigang, sisig etc) that you can order as take out or eat at the long tables provided right outside the market. They are in Colorado Ave, Glendale CA. I have been going to them since 1988 and have always enjoyed their dishes and friendly service. I now live in Cerritos but when I visit my Glendale relatives, I make sure to also pick up Jeprox (fried fish) for our breakfast with fried rice for next day. Their prices range from $11-$21 for dishes depending on order size but so worth it.
I really hope they have visible prices for their food. Their foods are overrated. The staff are nice but I would appreciate it if we wont be surprised by the price of our cooked food at the cashier.
I havent visit Akro for so long and recently my family and I craved for Filipino foods... so good to see alot of pinoy ulam!
We bought 4 packs of their kalamay( filipino delicacies) in the afternoon and the next day the kalamay has molds. I called and they did not want to acknowledge the problem and i was told that the 4 packages shd be consumed the day it was bought. So dissapointing bec i used to patronized them and buy a lot of stuffs and cooked food from them. I am highly disappointed with their customer service. Unlikely to recommend.
You know when you genetic code wants some noypi food well they give you lots of food for your money. Want to get cholesterold out go there man your noypi genes will love you from dinuguan to sisig your triglycerides will love your numbers to 300 points. Enjoy dude!
I go to this great restaurant often! This is my favorite place to eat. I go there many times. The food is of high quality, the workers are friendly and the prices are reasonable. I enjoy being in this spot to have a tasty lunch.
Maaaaaaan! The best food Ive had in a looooong time!
Always find items i needed, indeed a great store
The BBQ beef and chicken was very good, but the pancit had a fishy taste.
Fresh from the pot, Filipino dishes served daily.
Friendly staff..but the taste of the food need more improvement...
Courteous staff, fresh products and a well-stocked store. This is my go to Filipino store.
Besides selling hot foods that has the best original Filipino taste in town, the store also keeps a good policy for excellent customer service, cleanliness and sanitation protocols.
Fresh seafood at amazing prices! Love how they have a hand wash station outside and they make you sanitize before entering the store. Very good selection of cooked Philippine dishes to choose from as well!
I love this place clean and have the fish that I want, cooked or cleaned ready to cook. You wash your hands in front of the store before you get in.
Great spot for Hot Filipino food and groceries. Fresh meats and fish also available here.
Love this place. Selection of cooked foods, snacks,etc... I like meat.
The only best filipino food in Glendale, Eagle Rock area. Only problem is no dine in.
Love the prices, food items availability, customer service, seafood prepared there, cafeteria style menu. Thank you. June Perkins
Selection of Philipino food market style and prepared to go. The fish selection looked terrific we will probably try it next time. We did purchase a good selection of food prepared to go. What we have consumed so far is of excellent quality
Just picked up cooked food. Good Filipino food like always. Since I live 20 minutes away, I picked up over $80 worth and it should last for a week...
Looks very clean and the made you wash your hands at the entrance n have you paper towels to dry hands with,..their pansit malabon was tasty n fresh, so many looked really good and fresh so got stuff to go to give :). it would be good if items were priced so didnt have to ask, eg in deciding if I should get a couple of small vs large,..
Dishes cooked the way that I would cook it thats why I always go there when I have no time to cook or just plain lazy to dish up something 😊. Kare-kare is the best so far and Ive tried a few.
Good customer experience
Fresh food always. Staff are nice.
Many good ready cooked foods!!!!😊
Ive been going here for years and even with this pandemic, I still love their food😋
Catered foods are delicious place is clean, customer service engages in recommending the best food product they have to offer
Good Filipino food.
Always the best and fresh prepared food daily.
Awesome place to get some Filipino food! Actually probably the only place I know that serves Filipino food in the area.
Good food but no outdoor sitting area.no rest room facility either.if you are from out of town and a necessity for natures call ....you can just piss on the floor 😂😮
Got all my favourite Filipino desserts here!
The food is awesome good quality in terms of how they cooked the food. friendly staff..every time I go there and buy i feel my mom is cooking Filipino food that I like so much..and it’s also feel that it’s like Home away from Home..
They had everything I needed
Ive been coming here for so many years, food is good and its very convenient now that they have a curbside pick up. The downfall the food is becoming over priced. Recently called for a curbside pick up, the phone line wasnt clear so I notified the person on the other line that I couldnt hear him much. But instead he sounded so rude and impolite. I felt that I needed to apologize for not hearing him clearly. I was taken a back and asked myself what did I do? But anyway, I got my order Filipino time and I think its time to find another Filipino store to go to.
Its a small Asian mom & pop market with a buffet style food court for to go order.
One of the best markets in town!Delicious food and very interesting variety of items
Big selection on Asian foods and a small selection on Spanish foods
Organized and clean... food are not bat at all...
Great place to get your cravings satisfied for Filipino home cooking. Usually very busy but thats to be expected of a good place to get lunch or dinner.
Location wise for a Filipino like me who live in Glendale..I love the foods
Nice Clerks and delicious foods 😋
Clean and organized.
6:45pm on a Friday and very little selection.
Plenty of selection for take out and well stocked grocery items.
Arko Food always have variety in their cooked food. I also like the Chinese lumpia.
This store is perfect and they have a turo-turo style kitchen. No dine-in and grocery itself is probably 3 stars. But their food is the bomb. I always buy food from them when going to pot-luck parties. Non-Filipinos are always blown away with the quaity.
I amazingly surprised in a positive way to see a sink and hand soad for patrons to wash their hands before walking in into the market. The market is much clean and better organized. Very well done! 🙂The negative end is that no employee is monitoring the entrance to maket to make sure that those with no gloves wash their hands. Unfortunately, as I was leaving the premises another customer just walked in without washing his hands and no gloves on. Hopefully not many customers follow this unhealthy practice. 🤔
My family always buy and order foods at Arco . If I have a birthday parties event, they have catering dishes that you can order in advance and they also deliver if its very near. Employees like Alona, Lydia, Noel, etc are friendly, honest, and helpful. I Just loved this place and I recommend it to everyone near Glendale.
Glendales secret--- Arko Foods has the best Filipino Food in Southern California! Check out their hot food selection, and enjoy!
Great selection of Filipino food, snacks and fresh produce. It also has a fresh seafood and meat department. They also make Filipino dishes in house for orders to go.
Best home cooked meal compared to any Filipino restaurants around. Always packed and sometimes not enough people working on the floor to accommodate shoppers. But you won’t mind waiting because they’re worth it. Still they could be amazing if they actually do something about it.
We love their fresh home cooking we cant find anywhere.
A smaller filipino market but has most things you would need.
I am disappointed that when I got home, the medium size serving of chop suey did not have any meat or shrimp. For $8.50, I was hoping that there would be at least 1 pc. of shrimp. The display had shrimp and that’s what attracted me to order that dish. Food was bland.
Taste considerably has gone down. Save your money and time.
Cheese rolls yum! Lots of other good stuff. Even odd stuff like banana ketchup. Also hot food like soups stews meat 🐟 fresh. Chips veggies fresh stuff too. Not too pricey.
A large selection of Filipino dishes at affordable prices, different cuts of meat n fish. Grocery section stocked mostly Pinoy items. Fruit n vegetable sections r limited to popular items. Very small shopping carts.
Cooked foods looks great and tasty.
Waited in line with a number but the server entertained a person without a number. This type of bad business practice happened to me twice. They also need to avoid chatting with other servers while doing their job which is delaying customers. TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES. Let them know of the consequences of their unacceptable actions towards the customers. I would eliminate those do not follow the work instructions accordingly. Very bad practice in the food service area.
The hot food is pretty good, but pricey, an array of Filipino mercantile can be had throughout this small to medium-sized market.
Tasty Filipino foods all the time.
Although I did not eat there. It is and infusion Chinese and Filipino food. Its a market the cherries International Foods as well. If youre a barnacle I think youll dig it! Have seats ABS side to grocery store so you can chill and eat.
Good
Good food.
Good food but pricey compared to the other Pinoy food places.
Food take out has always been good here. Parking is not a problem. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
I like going here for Asian items, groceries and foods, fresh and cooked, and you can buy the recipes you need for good-tasting Filipino cooking.
Great place to grab Filipino food. Good number of food to choose from. Though. if youre a frequent visitor of this place -- youll see the same thing. On side, food is delicious.
Fish is never freshA lot of fish from china farm
Best Filipino food in LA! Authentic home cooking. Lots of choices, always fresh till closing
Food are good and delicious. try and taste some
I like the process to wash hands and sanitize before you enter store
Amazing food!
Good place
Great place to go for Filipino food their Sisig is out of control
A wide variety of ready to eat Filipino food!
This is the place satisfies my Filipino food craving. Their sisig is so good and they offer lots of options!
Not much meals for sale by 6pm
Authentic Filipino food & market, crowded
I really like their Chinese fresh lumpia. They gave a lot of sauce, dont forget to ask for the sauce.
Little expensive
Didnt like the way they packed the food. Its messy. And I bought a combo kare kare and tinola but they charge it separately. Isnt a combination supposed to be in 1 pricing only.So they charge rice and kare for 6.50 and my 2nd item tinola is 4.50I am not sure if this is the current pricing now for Filipino fast food.I was just surprised. when I asked why is it separated, I was told that the manager or owner likes it that way.I dont usually make a comment or review but its surprising to me or should I say alarming? Sorry.I like going here though because the food have good tasting.
Freshly cooked homemade Filipino cuisine daily... Some really fine grub eat in or take out
A place for Filipinos looking for goods and foods from the Philippines. I like their adobo and pansit. For sure others taste good also.
Good convenient store
Made me type in my pin twice, probably gonna get my credit card info stolen. Good food though especially the fried tilapia.
Bought a carry out breakfast. They have great friendly staff and the place is clean.
Nice place. Very good filipino cuisine as well as their crew. I highly recommend to visit this place.
Best Filipino convenient store. Love their hot food dishes.
We love this place to buy ready to eat Filipino food. And also Filipino ingredients.
Good selection of cooked Filipino dishes - to-go or eat your combo me as l outside whete the are tables ...and chairs set up.
Good Filipino food with a wide range of cooked foods and Asian groceries.
Five stars for the turo-turo (point/to-go) section and theyre getting so much better with their larger order pick-ups. We already know to give at least 20-30 minutes for waiting for you food. Dont know why but thats the way it always is. The hot food to-go section is really the high point of this place. Their butcher/fresh fish section smells fishier than it probably should and their selection on exotic fruits and fruits and vegetables in general is a bit skimpy. Still our go-to place for party sized trays of lumpiang-shanghai and chicken bbq skewers.
Fresh fish, theyll clean and cook for you! Love this store.
