I eloped last weekend and ended up at Drift late night with a small group of friends. We were very excited and definitely a lot to handle, but Paris was amazing! She was patient, all smiles, and so much fun! By the end of the night we were begging her to sit and have a drink with us (she politely declined). Thank you Paris for making our special night even better!

Excellent food - I had the lobster roll and the carrot cake and they were both delicious. The vibe is hip and young, but not too young. The live music was enjoyable, but not overwhelmingly loud like at some places. The service was very friendly and responsive. I would definitely recommend it and definitely go back.

Espresso Martinis are amazing here. Food was good, definitely a place to visit while in Gloucester.

This place is actually a joke. Walked in to get some food and a drink and was awkwardly stared at by all the workers. My friends and I were then told to “sit wherever” and had to get our own table. Drinks came after 15 minutes. Never got food because it took too long. Don’t waste your time.

The food was great, and the service was excellent. Though the place was short-staffed, and things were a little slower than the staff would have liked. They were very apologetic, and you could feel their pain. The experience was great, and I will certainly be back.

This was a very yummy restaurant. Handicap accessible. Friendly service and reasonable prices considering the area.

Bartender was inattentive. Cocktail was too stiff and overpriced. nachos were overpriced for the quality of the dish. There was no happy hour pricing even though the menu was For happy hour. Ended the meal quickly due to allergic reaction and not feeling well.

Not impressed. The Nachos were disgusting. The bartender was completely inattentive, an treated us like a 2nd rate citizen. This place treat locals like trash.

The food and beverages we had were very good and the service was very good also.My only complaint was the sliding doors inside were open. We were there in the evening and it was pretty cold in there. The temps outside were in the 40s. I was told that they leave them open because of covid and it makes people feel more comfortable. I find that very hard to believe. I have eaten in many restaurants all over the area and you are either inside or outside. If you are inside you are warm and can enjoy your meal. It doesnt make sense to spend $100 and be cold. It was actually warmer outside where the heaters were.... Anyway, just my opinion.

This place is one of the best in town. Could not recommend it enough. Great atmosphere, super friendly staff and great food! The drinks are definitely reasonably priced and most of all they the owners treat everyone like family. Top place in Gloucester to go. 10/5 stars recommend!!!

Drift is one of my all-time favorite places for coffee, brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks. The entire staff is SO amazing and friendly, especially a big shout to Chris and Charlie! The food is always so outstanding and delicious. You really can’t go wrong coming to Drift.

Lobster Roll was super fresh and absolutely delicious. The cocktails were tasty and they had a great beer selection. Would definitely recommend/go again.

Were all a little edgy these days and need to cut other guy a break. The recent negative view posted here about Drift Cafe for example. Ive found this place to be nothing but hospitable and welcoming. The food, the service, the prices, and the cleanliness are all on point, plus fashionable decor, with views of St. Peters Park, Cape Pond Ice, and the working waterfront. If you want to post a negative review about the virus rules, direct it to the guvnah.

My husband and I love the Drift! Always the best food and drink. Great casual and friendly atmosphere. One of our favorite spots!

Great drinks and great service!!!

Drift Cafe is a unique experience in Gloucester. Essentially it is an open air Bar/Cafe that strives on its ambiance and beer menu. A great place for a quick beer or 2. Its a small place but I think that works for Drift.

I dont mean to play the race card ... I was refused service because I was wasnt going to be eating food, but I couldnt help but notice a number of other people who were doing the same thing, just looked a little different to me and my partner. Id expect better from a member of a community that is marginalized and discriminated against, very disappointing. Its 2020, not Alabama in 1959, do better guys.

From Western MA in town for the evening. We saw the outside bar from the street and decided to stop by for some drinks and food. What an awesome place. Although we were told the kitchen was closed the owner immediately told us where to go to get late night food. We were having such a good time that we didn’t want to leave. We ended up with muffins and danish for dinner!!! After sometime the owner made us a tray of cheese, crackers, olives and salami. We didn’t ask he just offered... it was delicious ... he did not charge us!!! Now that’s customer service. We will defiantly be back!!!

0 stars if I could. Horrible introduction and service from the very beginning. Me and a friend walked in and 5 seconds later a man that worked there from the balcony shouted “what are you guys here for?.” We told him we were probably just grabbing some drinks. We got the vibe that he was just trying to kick us out from the very beginning.“MA state law says we can only let you in if you’re placing an order for food guys”. I respect that 100%, but we aren’t from around the area, and state law or not, he could’ve presented the rules in more customer friendly way. Everyone inside was clearly more “fancier”. We’re just normal tourists walking in with tanks and shorts. We both got an aggressive vibe from him like he was trying to keep us away from the beginning. Which is why we didn’t even bother giving them a chance and getting an app there and staying. Regardless of wether or not the food is good here, WOULD NOT recommend coming here for that reason. They clearly want to maintain an “image” there with their clientele. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE IN GLOUCESTER OTHER THAN THE DRIFT.

Drift was a very pleasant experience!Stopped by for quick sip of espresso, stayed much longer than expected to have a chat with Rick!Its a Beautifully designed cafe, with a wonderful view!The coffee was amazing and selection of spirits will satisfy anyone!If youre in the area! Make a stop, and visit!

Went to this horrible place this weekend and had the worst customer service experience I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone they treated my family horrible and they lost a customer for life. My family and I always go to Gloucester during the weekends and never experience such bad customer service I would recommend almost any other bar / restaurant to go to besides here!

Went there Saturday night with a friend, she had their espresso martini and liked it, I had a Moscow mule so good. There was a piano player Rick, who sang and played all era songs and did an incredible great job! He had the whole place singing a few times! The bartenders are super friendly and the vibe is everyone who goes there is friendly. This place is a must go to while in Gloucester!

The only thing better than the espresso martinis is the service, especially Chris. He went above and beyond to make our experience fabulous!

On Tuesday July 7th, A male staff member berated and insulted a friend of mine for bringing her trained service dog on the property. The staff member called her out in front of other customers, mocked her for saying she has a service dog by pointing out he has 3 dogs at home he may as well consider service dogs; he violated multiple HIPAA laws by asking what her service dog was for and why she needed one, in addition to complete ignorance and lack of understanding ADA compliance. Coming from a 3rd generation local business owner of 60 years, other business owners need to completely understand ADA and HIPAA compliance. It is never okay to berate someone with a disease or disability because of your lack of understanding. I will not be recommending my or other friends business here.

One of my favorite spots for late night drinks and charcuterie in Gloucester. Great view out the full length back windows - perfect in the summer when theyre open looking out onto St. Peters Square. Friendly bartenders, live music often on weekends, LGBTQ friendly. Recently updated their menu to include additional food options beyond bar foods. Casual atmosphere.
