Other than all the drama and power trips in upper management, I can say the worst thing about this company is how unsupportive they are of a stylist’s journey in this industry. I lived in fear for five years because all I ever heard was nothing but bad things about commission based and booth rent salons from our GM. If I would’ve known what I know now, I would’ve left after my first year. Don’t waste your entire career here. If you’re good at what you do and you know it, take that leap. I am so glad I did because the amount of money I have made compared to those weekly checks of an hourly wage is insane. In this past year of leaving Supercuts, I’ve been able to buy a house, and a car. I can take time off whenever I need to for my kids or vacation. And just get to live a better life all around because I’m not struggling living pay check to paycheck working there for an hourly wage. Ladies and gentlemen do not let a company brain wash you into thinking this is it, I climbed that totem pole and it is not worth it! Corporate is a great place to start out in your career but once you’ve mastered the art of cutting hair, move on before you get burned out. I could go on and on with my many complaints and how wrong they did me when I left, but what goes around comes around so I’ll leave it at that.
My experience started whenever I walked into the building in February, and though it was nice at first it was very, very short lived. They treat my old manager like she is ghetto scum, and make rude remarks to her (she won’t say anything bc she needs her job for her kids). They’ve made remarks about all of the stylist and managers such as we only “make $9 an hr so we can’t afford a lawyer”, calling my personal cellphone on my day off from their personal cellphone to gossip, treating us like we were beneath them. I’ve had my lawyer contact them and they have refused to send over all the paperwork we signed, without a witness, they’ve refused to pay me for my last day of work, ignored calls from my lawyer. Sent laughing emoji with ok sign when we said were taking them to court. Refused to give us Jims number. I have never worked for a company that was/is so immature and PETTY.
I dont know how this actual corporation works but as far as the procuts in amarillo work its a joke. No leadership, the regional manager Jamie is a cold hearted terrible person. Jamie makes employees do things that she says are mandatory that are no where in the employee handbook so I assume its just her personal preferenceMy wife was fired today for her first ever write up. They make you pay $500 for a weeks worth of useless training and also pay for your own mandatory uniforms. Youre supposed to be reimbursed for the training after 6 months but if you are WRONGFULLY terminated they withhold what you have paid. We will definitely be contacting our lawyer to recover what was lost monetarily. Not to mention their hourly pay is barely over minimum wage which is ridiculous for a skilled profession. I assume thats why every one of their stores in the amarillo region are severely understaffed. Of course it has something to do with the dictator of a regional manager as well. Most of them have 7 stations and only 2 or 3 employees. Most days they have less than 10 customers. Its just pathetic. TuCorp will be hearing from our lawyer. Thanks for reading and please stay away from this terrible company if you can help it.
My experience with this corporation was awful with the exception of few people; you know who you are. Tucorp does not value their employees whatsoever. I moved from Louisiana to years ago to work here in West Texas and wanted to stick with the Supercuts brand and was quickly disappointed even before the pandemic. I tried sticking it out to see if things would change for the better but time and time again there were problems. Tucorp as a company is a shadow of its former self based on coworker accounts.
